We’re Officially Addicted to The Warning – Choke | Couple Reacts (Help Us!)
Hey there y'all! So this time we are reacting to The Warning - Choke. And honestly, we are a LITTLE bit addicted. No clever tricks, no clickbait. We are totally addicted. Lol. Check out our reaction and tell us what other Warning songs to listen to! :)
The Warning is a Mexican rock band made up of three sisters-Daniela (vocals & guitar), Paulina (drums), and Alejandra (bass). They’ve been making waves in the rock world with their powerful sound, blending elements of alternative rock, grunge, and hard rock. The band first gained attention with their viral cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" when they were teenagers, and they've only gotten better and more ambitious since. With their undeniable talent, fierce energy, and raw songwriting, The Warning has been taking the rock scene by storm.
Their music is bold, unapologetic, and emotionally charged, earning them a growing fanbase and a reputation for delivering hard-hitting, memorable songs. With each release, they showcase their growth as musicians and artists, proving they’re here to stay.
"Choke" is one of The Warning’s most intense and impactful songs. Released as a part of their "Error" EP in 2020, the track dives deep into feelings of frustration, powerlessness, and the suffocating pressures of life. With its heavy guitar riffs, thumping bass, and raw vocal performance from Daniela, “Choke” is a perfect blend of angst and energy. The song’s lyrics express the internal conflict of being overwhelmed by expectations, with a relentless build-up that mirrors the feeling of choking under pressure.
The song’s pacing reflects the intensity of the emotions it explores, starting off with a brooding, almost haunting vibe before exploding into full-force rock. It’s a track that hits hard both musically and lyrically, showcasing The Warning’s ability to merge personal vulnerability with their hard-edged rock style. The emotional weight of “Choke” makes it one of those songs that grabs you by the soul and doesn’t let go.

    While Pau comes up with many of the song ideas however . .If there are any decisions to be made when there is a disagreement Ale makes that desicion . . . She also has perfect pitch and does not need a click track to keep in time . . She keeps the others in time . . . Ale also had a major role in the sound direction of Keep Me Fed album . . . To me Ale is actualy the leader of TW . . She lets the other 2 do there thing but makes the choice in the end . . . Its easier that way lol Take care till next time . Bye from NZ👍👋🇳🇿🍻twa

    Your not listening to the people who know this band. Watching music videos, especially with a band that dreads making them, is NOT the way to see a band's performance. This band IS a LIVE band. Their studio and music videos recording are good, but where they shine is in concert. There are tons of live performances on their channel. If you're liking this band, you must react to the Pepsi Center show. Pick any of the over 20 songs, since they do not write bad songs. Again guys ... live is the thing with The Warning!

    This was the first single released from their 3rd album, so not surprising that it has a more “mainstream “ sound. If you like punk, suggest “Z” live performance from Pepsi Center or P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C live at Lunario on their channel. 😎👍

    Yeah TWA sometimes can be... ah... how can I say it... Partial... so to say... I personally had trouble sinking into this song too (and Animosity from the same album) it did take A LOT of spins for me to get into the groove of the song. And I don't think it is due to the song being "slow" because I heard other songs that are even considered ballads before listening to Choke, and I liked those more. It might me just a matter of simplicity (which is not a bad trait to have on some songs). And I totally understand why the label wanted this song to be the first single from their Error album as it is catchy, but simple and ballady-sh, and also the voice of Dany is simply magnificent. 10:30 never thought about it but to be fair I don't see the resemblance except for when sometimes Tati has a ponytail... May be...? 😅

  • @philwrichtube
    @philwrichtube 10 годин тому

    Interesting take. I think you'll find that their sound definitely evolves over time. Their current fanbase tends to enjoy their 3rd album "Error" the most but many old timers like their 2nd album "Queen of the Murder Scene" best. Newer fans seem to like their latest 4th album "Keep Me Fed" which has the 2 songs you mentioned. If I were to pick a Top 10 from The Warning, I would be choosing 2 or 3 from each of their 4 albums. Love this band. 🤟🎸🥁🎸🤟

    You went music video again... They are very subdued in their recorded/music video versions. LIVE is their super power. Find this same song Live at Pepsi Center and you get more aggressive vocals and the vibe of what The Warning is actually about. Music videos are fine to get an idea of what the song is about - but then watch the live version to see what The Warning does when they translate their songs for the crowd when they blow up a venue. Yes, the drummer, Pau is the creative driving force. They say that a lot of their songs start with her sitting at the piano and just playing chords and things until something hits her, and that's when magic happens. She comes up with something and takes it to her sisters and they all get together to rock-ify it.

    It's ok to recognize they've grown into gorgeous young ladies, LOL. At this show, they were 18 (bass), 21 (drums), 23 Guitar/lead. Several male reactors have said similar, "meh, I'm focused on the music so I wasn't paying attention." A couple younger guys have gone the opposite route and said one or two things that earned them the wrath of The Warning Army LOL. They're all beautiful, inside and out. Even seeing them on stage rocking out in person is like watching three supermodels destroy a venue LOL! Yes, LIVE is their super power. I recommend working your way through the 'Live at Pepsi Center CDMX' concert. (CDMX = Mexico City). They crush the whole concert with 23 songs and it's an emotional roller coaster which includes both chills and tears. There's even a song where young Miss Ale (bass) sings a couple lines. The thumbnails for that concert have little numbers in the bottom right, which tell you what order the songs were played. And I got what Stephanie was saying about the 'sing along'. A lot of their songs have very anthemic vibes/structure and are easy to sing along to, which just adds to the vibe of their live performances. They LOVE it when the crowd sings their songs along with them. There's a couple songs where Dany shreds a bit, but most of the time they opt for a drums/bass breakdown (Automatic Sun) or vocal breakdown with a chant or something (Disciple) that gets the crowd hyped and singing along with them.

    A huge appeal to my wife and I is that they don't simply "write songs"; they "compose performances". They are very precise and consistent - which may be against the more common 'rock band' aesthetic - but as one who has been bitterly disappointed many times in favorite bands who sound great in studio but suck ass live, I completely appreciate their approach.

      They still have fun on stage and don't script every moment (the songs are fully rehearsed). At the most recent show in Boston, a youngster was dressed up in a shark costume, and Ale and Pau spotted it and got Dany's attention, who complimented "Little Shark". Dany has said that she rehearses her stage moves and at each venue paces off the stage so she knows exactly how far she can roam the stage so she can get back to her mic and pedalboard in time.

    You said you've never seen them live! Yes ... they are the best live band around now. Dig into the show at the Pepsi Center. Pick any song. But "Z" and "Dust to Dust" are a good starting point. You wanna hear people singing along, watch that show. Stephanie is correct. They ARE a sing along band. I mean if you listen at the beginning of "Z", the audience is even loudly singing the guitar riff. It's what they vibe over when they play live. Their writing is also excellent. Just good rock songs that have surprises within.

    You've only heard a small amount of these young ladies. They have a lot of structure in their playing and writing. Dany was just recently invited on to the Stage by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm to jam with them, And she ripped Lead with Joe Hottinger. she did incredible!!! Try their cover of Atlas Rise by Metallica At The Whiskey A Go Go when They were 13, 16 and 18. The killed it doing the job of 4 grown men, only 3 young teenagers... You will be surprised because you (the guy) don't seem to know what Dany and her younger sister's are capable of... Lzzy Hale has gifted Dany a Gibson Explorer and said she an "incredible guitar player and reminds her of Randy Rhoades little sister" he was in Ozzy Osbournes band. And that she makes her the feel like she needs to practice her scales. She the only Guitarist and she Plays Riffs and Lead scales while singing incredible!!!
