    My biggest gripe is how they decontented the US version. The version they sell overseas has rear AC vents yet here we are with a version that has that taken out. Makes you wonder what other things our version lacks.

      I didn’t see a heated steering wheel button & not sure about auto climate control, maybe those are in the screen. I would expect those as standard equipment on the Lariat, but Ford has really been crappy with parts availability & cutting content while increasing prices, so who knows.

    All the chrome looks great!! I wish ford could come out with a shifter on the column option and really open that counsel up to some extra space like the f150.

    • @m6780
      @m6780 7 місяців тому +1

      Agreed, i believe all the shifters are only electonic switches now days anyway, not actually mechanically connected to the transmission anyway. So they could do whatever they want with gear selector placement. But I do prefer this lever to the previous knob.
      One other thing I'd have liked would have been to have the floor under the second row completely open with the bottom cushion in the up position as it is on the f150 crew cab. I think the storage cubbies under the seat take up usable stowage space. Maybe they needed some sort of support under the seat?

    Awesome screen. One thing I like about my Jeep is that it does not have some screen that sticks out that can get snapped off (even though it's 8.4 inches). Ford put a huge screen on here and still managed to not have it stick out ! That's awesome!

    Love it but Ford is gauging it's customers. The V6 is available on other models overseas but not here. If you want the V6, you have to get the Raptor which can be had in the upper 50's which is insane. How in the hell do you leave out the rear A/C. Should also include a moonroof option like the Maverick. The Nissan Frontier is the best small truck at this point.

    The most important thing that separates this Ranger from its direct competitors was not mentioned. That is you can now lay 4’ wide plywood flat on the bed floor. Can’t do that with a Tacoma or GM midsize trucks.

    • @christopherkozal7987
      @christopherkozal7987 8 місяців тому +3

      If that’s the only advantage to the Ranger, it’s in trouble. I’ll be shocked if this sells better than 3rd place in the market behind GM & Taco remaining dominant.

      @@christopherkozal7987 Ford historically has been about “work” first, and “play” second. I work for a city government in their transportation division. The city’s class 1-5 trucks are virtually all Fords. This is pretty much true across the country. I even see many more current Rangers and new Mavericks being used by businesses than Tacomas or GM small trucks. The Tacomas and GM midsize trucks may rule the “lifestyle” segment, but those that use trucks for work, Ford rules.
      I think once it becomes common knowledge that the new Ranger is “plywood-friendly” that will benefit Ford sales as well. Right now that’s not the case. In fact Ford has done a lousy job promoting that feature. They need to show the new Ranger with a load of 4x8s in the bed in their advertising, at car shows, at county and state fairs, etc. Once the word gets out Ranger sales will greatly benefit.
      Finally, you might say if you want to haul plywood just get an F-150. Well I don’t want a truck that large and that expensive.

    I have the fantastic Ford Bronco Sport Badlands 2021 and the 400w inverter is very good to charge my Bluetti Ac200L and Jackery 1000. Ac200L is a powerstation which provide 2400w output , 1200w solar, or 560w from alternator with Charger1 module. It can run everything at home and outside. The inverter helps to keep all my powerstation charged during driving. I use the inverter also for air compressor Dewalt as 12v is not powerful enough. I bought a converter 120v to 12v 200W to run all heavy 12v equipment.

      how much does a Tacoma with those options cost? A loaded Ranger Lariat FX4 is $50K. Last I saw the cheapest Tacoma with ventilated seats was the TRD Sport 2WD with an expensive $8K premium package tacked on it, it ends up being $49K. If you add 4WD it becomes $52K. The Limited adds those, sunroof and the heads up display for just $2K more. Some people might just pocket those $4K and be able to lay flat a 4ft piece of plywood between the wheel wells, though

    I still feel Ford half hearted this truck. The 2019 was more understandable, they wanted to get to market and actually did a very good job converting a global truck using the parts bin. Some of the 2019-2023 issues weren't addressed. No split rear seat? Really. No moon roof option? A strut for the tailgate to dampen instead of integral? And when you price them out it is as much or more than the competition when they have those options. I like the truck. It is just over priced like all Ford's these days. I just wonder if Ford offered a basic Ranger with 4WD, a six speed do-it-yourself transmission, and something naturally aspirated yet fairly powerful yet economical, how well it would sell? Include a comfortable yet easily maintainable interior and the basic, uncomplicated creature comforts. In a cab that’s easy to see out of when backing.

Also has 4A (all wheel drive setting for wet/slippery roads) which this one does not. Mine isn't a raptor btw. Maybe you guys get a better version with more stuff for more $$ than this. Seems you guys get completely different engines too. Raptor here has twin turbo v6 at 397.1 hp, or 292 kw, diff suspension etc. In Australia the government made commercial vehicles 100% tax deduction, so there's heaps around. 2:26 Are we seeing the return of stake pockets on a mid size truck as being a normal thing, again? I may have found my next vehicle, never understood why stake pockets were removed from the Tacoma and Frontier. There are times that I need more volume to stack yard waste or other items, when I had my 07 Tundra or my 12 RAM 2500 I would build wooden slate sides that drop in to the stake pockets. I've been thinking about a newer generation mid size as a tertiary vehicle for the utility use instead of a trailer. It's good to see what competition can do for this segment.

    I’m probably in the minority here, but I think Ford really mailed-it in with the aesthetics of the basic Ranger. It’s just not a handsome truck, it’s very bland to me & highly forgettable. New Taco, GM twins…Frontier all blow Ford away in the looks department. Ford screwed-up the timing of the new Ranger reveal too, right before the new Taco. After Taco was unveiled the Ranger was forgotten about.

Where is the Platinum with all the afore mentioned options and power deployable running boards? C'mon Ford. You introduced the truck last...June?? And dealers are still not taking orders until May?
