YEAH, this is my girl. I use to go to her daddy's church when I was just a little girl, before we moved from the east side of Detroit to the west side. She went through a lot. But GOD BLESSED her. And she Kept her head 🗣️ up high. She was a true BLESSING 😊 !!!
WHEN GOD IS FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU!!!!!???? OH THE SHOUT I WOULD HAVE SCREAM OUT THAT DAY! My God THE QUEEN WAS ON FIRE AND IN HER ANOINTING!!!!! I am Rev. Jesse Jackson's hand because that's how I felt the entire time! A TREMBLING IN THE BUILDING!!!
It’s like she stopped in from a casual day of shopping, tossed that coat off, brought the house down, and carried on about running her errands. Yes ma’am madam Queen 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I also liked when people finally stood up for the QUEEN RECOGNIZING HER for who she is. And she knew that she had NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT. SHE SEALED IT WHEN SHE SAID WHEN GOD IS FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU. I CRIED MY EYES OUT.
I just don't understand the audience's reaction, the Queen of Soul is in front of them but they are just sitting. If I was there I would have stood up from the very first time she came on the stage
RIIIIIIGHT! I STOOD UP AT HOME!!!!! And then when she got full and kicked that leg up!!!! But towards the end, I realized that they were just STUNNED that she can still BELT AND MINISTER LIKE THAT!!!! By the time that young man stood up with his fist, they realized THEY WERE AT CHURCH!!!!
Wow what an amazing performance by the Queen of Soul‼️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 There’s no way on this side of Heaven would I have been in my seat; her first note would’ve rose me up. Oh my Good God, I feel the spirit. RIP QOS💜💜💜😇🙏🏽
Ms Re-Re, gave y'all that 8 piece, original, with the 3 sides...and 4 extra biscuits...plus the curtsy, to boot. What's sad is, we will never see an entertainer and singer like her, again. That generation of REAL singers is pretty much gone. Those singers that earned their fame and credibility and work ethic on that ol' chitlun' circuit...they are pretty much gone. You got Gladys K, Dionne Warwick, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, Al Green and Stevie Wonder. And after you name them, you're pretty much, scratching your head, because you cant name anymore. So, yea...Aretha Franklin was a once in a lifetime vocalist, no doubt.
I have seen Aretha Franklin live more than any other entertainer. Each time, I was in awe of her incredible talent. One memorable occasion was during the release of “A Rose is Still A Rose.” Ms. Franklin took the stage and declared, “There has been and there will always be a Rose.” For those who might not make the connection, she was affirming that since she was crowned Queen, she has always been and will always be The Queen. Then, she sang, sang, and sang some more, leaving the audience spellbound.
He wind up knocking me right back on my bended knees... Brother was right Even our grandparents taught us... Get on your bended knee and pray. That has always been our saving grace. Black America has sadly forgotten that. And She isn't around to remind them either.
This performance is so amazing, right at the end; it is an example of God's amazing power, regardless of our weaknesses, His strength emerges; praise his holy name.
Just can’t get one thing. She was unquestionable Queen, enormously talented and gifted. Concrete. Quick-witted. But at the same time lots of ppl were saying she “was difficult to work with” (people having a huge experience in show business). Some called her shady (in a bad meaning)arrogant and even conceited. After “Divas” in 1998 they all went away for Aretha, left the stage of VH1, took her stuff and left fellow singers without bye, thank you. Come on it’s not classy. I’ve watched two documentaries about that evening and some picked up interviews with ladies. They praised her, ofc, but admitted what I typed “she’s such a beautiful soul. She doesn’t have to talk to you or thank you it’s this aura of her make you feel blessed…Really? I believe that good old ‘Thank you’ is not too much? Or maybe it is……
A lot of people have their opinions. She went through a lot, with one of her sons always by her side. When she stepped out on that stage she knew people would've already judged her based on rumors that had been released of her father. The great Reverend C L Franklin impregnating her and she boring his child. But she had sense enough to know that WASN'T on her. Cause she had the support of the whole church community that knew about it for years. And supported her emotionally and spiritually. Especially the Rev Jessie Jackson who not only marched with her way back. But was at all of her events. Even Fahrichann I KNOW I didn't spell his name correctly was at her funeral, front row seat with all the rest to HONOR THE QUEEN, WHO JUSTLY DESERVED IT. I myself will always love her. I cry my eyes out every time. Though her children and all of us miss her. We have her songs and videos to keep her memories alive. She was called home. May she now rest in peace. Like she said in the SONG. It was HARD living, but she knew her change would come. May my sister in Christ rest in peace !!!

What a song, what a singer. This is the heighest a human spirit can be. Pure eternity.
It’s like she stopped in from a casual day of shopping, tossed that coat off, brought the house down, and carried on about running her errands. Yes ma’am madam Queen 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

This performance gave me chills from start to finish 😍

After Sam Cooke
I just don't understand the audience's reaction, the Queen of Soul is in front of them but they are just sitting. If I was there I would have stood up from the very first time she came on the stage
That is the editing..they left a lot off of the broadcast due to time constraints.
They were in respectful awe. As the anointing fell, they embraced her more.

@@WestJason9 Exactly! BUT THEY WERE STUNNED BY HER GREATNESS TOO! It's like THAT'S MY GRANDMOTHER BUT WHY IS SHE DESTROYING THIS BUILING!!!!???
They were awestruck by her soulfulness. She sung the yell out that song.

Needed that today, Sam Cooke's song brings me some hope to my soul with the fascist, racist, and bigoted folks trying to beat us down again.

What is the meaning of all that you wrote...nobody cares..we didn't come to the video for a lesson on her attitude...damn
The Legendary
Ein Geiler Song
Love
Love song.
If she found them sitting she left the standing.
❤
The Queen of Soul. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Somewhere beyond the sky, Sam Cooke is smiling.
They took all bass out this one :(
How old was she here?
72
Sam Cooke was singing from his heart. Aretha is singing from her brain. I hear nothing of Sam Cooke's soft and yearning desperation in this version.
He failed to grab that coat - was not on que
Ma che ha al collo la stella della massoneria?
