....all of her jazz scatting and runs are the best....she said she lived to hear Ella and Sarah ....and i hear her doing her versions of their work....and it just gives me chills....she is forever the Queen of Soul....i cannot get enough of her.....
Saw here in Germany in 1965. Near the start of her career. What a show!!! Concert hall was small. Guys kept trying to jump on stage to dance with her. I mean a lot of guys, it was insane. But she was nice and kept singing. I loved her back then and I love her more now. A great lady.
Aretha Louise Franklin belongs to the AGES. Aretha’ voice gave sound, rhythm, soul, and heart to not only music, but to a Freedom Movement. Many have overlooked her unyielding to support to the liberation of black people, and her support to Angela Davis during a time when many due to fear of reprisal would not even associate with her.
Umm...yeaaaa...that ending run was absolutely ridiculous. It was beautiful to hear her scatting, which is quite rare on what she did here. BUT, for Stevie, I would expect no less, as her TRUE compliment before SANGING was, "a musicians musician, and a sanger's sanger"....that compliment sets the tone, that she MUST put down something we're not used to, & she did it. Any real artist in any ART at any age holds back the FULL GIFT for special occasions when they can meet other VERY GIFTED ARTISTS, & say, "this is what I got in my bag of tricks I didn't show yet!" r.i.p
What a fantastic tribute! A true professional and the QUEEN of soul! I loved how she got Stevie involved like “Come on,Stevie!” And Stevie being the master he is worked in the words from Aretha’s song “Think” into his improvisation! His riff at the end was incredible!!! Two legends!!!
Next month she will have transitioned for a year--GOD I soooo miss her. 🌹❤️ I never saw this performance. She was in good form. Love the love she showed towards Stevie and DC.
Fire on the Mountain. Aretha was anointed when she gets into that zone she's unstoppable there will only ever be one Aretha only one. This was insane. Wow!
Amazing Miss Franklin!! Just Amazing!! The vocal control and ability is Amazing!! You are the definition of royalty at birth. You were born to be The Queen of soul!!
2:45-2:54 are top tier vocals no matter the generation or age. Even at this twilight in her career this alone shows why the great singers look up to her as a vocal blueprint. You literally see Mariah Carey giddy and jumping from amazement. Just, even in the few seconds this shows that she has always been in and forever will be in another realm when it comes to vocals.
There will never be another ARETHA
Aretha was in the mist of cancer treatments here and still doing her best.
This event was incredible, Aretha giving a trivute to Stevie, Patti giving a tribute to Mariah
The Greatest Voice of All Time! Paying tribute to her childhood friend. Amazing

So we gonna act like that run at the end wasn’t insane. The Queen Miss Aretha Franklin👑 never ceases to amaze.❤️
For real though 🔥💯😂
