I don't understand why they don't give them meal plans or teach them a few recipes. Every time they do something like this they complain and hate it because they don't do it properly.
Yea the Asian guy needed some legumes asap if he felt weak that’s what I do then have a veggie fruit smoothie way faster than putting together a salad 🥗.
You guys need to redo this! You're in LA, there are so many amazing vegan places like gracias madre and cafe gratitude. They made being vegan seem miserable when it really isn't.
They should have chosen people mentally open to veganism or at least a plant-based diet. Its never going to work for those that are already closed off towards it or have their mind pretty much made up to what they think its about.
And they live in LA. I live in a small city in upstate NY and I could be totally vegan but im now vegetarian. Its sad that a small town ny person can be pretty much vegan with no whole foods or trader joes. Yet the ones in LA cant even do it
Separate comment: Why do people not berate you if you eat McDonalds every day, but as soon as you say you're vegan/vegetarian everyone becomes an expert on protein consumption and overall health? I don't get it.
+Hannah Maris The majority of the people who live in developed countries who can go to a Mcdonalds go there because it's convenient and affordable. While I don't know anyone who eats Mcdonalds everyday I do know that I live in tourist area and the cost of living here is extremely high. Most people spend the majority of their time working, this means most kids parents are working. As sad as it is, it's just not easy to sit down and prepare an entirely veg. meal. And I live on an island so veg. restaurants aren't a thing, and if they were most people can't afford it everyday. To put it in perspective (where I live) a cheeseburger meal costs 7.99 and 1 mango cost 4.99... you can imagine how big a bill it would be to buy enough fruit and veg for a large family. (and on a minimum wage salary) I wish more people had access to fresh fruits and vegi's for a reasonable price when supermarkets literally throw out perfectly good produce by the ton everyday. Ironically, we have the ability for people to eat healthy foods, but nobody has the money to buy them :(
daffodilZephyr I know not everyone can afford being a vegan. Being a vegetarian is hella cheap though. I made 7 black bean burgers for three dollars where beef is seven to twelve dollars. I'm more bothered that people don't berate drinkers, smokers, junk food eaters as openly or nearly as much as vegans.
I find it a bit sad how they went into this with closed minds, I feel that their reactions and opinions would've changed had they been more open-minded. They were quite negative to begin with, so I didn't expect them to really get what being vegan is about. I do agree with you that it's off putting that people think it's okay to give you health lessons just because you eat a different way than they do.
This experiment was so poorly planned. Not giving people a chance to prepare, buy groceries, etc. Using punishments esp. so early on in the diet. Give people more access to food not less.
+halycyon1234 exactly, so frustrating right ?! The burger punishment made me cringe so bad. So unthoughtful and imature like so many people would enjoy a vegan burger right now. They lacked preparation and weren't making a comprehensive experiment about what veganism truly encompasses.
halycyon1234 and some indian food is vegan, there's vegan guacamole, there's like so many options, ton of affordable recipes and I feel like freelee all of a sudden, now I know why she rants
This made veganism look bad. I can assure you that giving this lifestyle a chance is not at all even close to this. The first step in becoming vegan is getting educated on it and being open minded.
+NimbleBlood Please stop being sooo bloody closed minded. I was vegetarian from the time I was 12 until 24 and I became vegan in the beginning of the year. My blood tests are perfectly fine and I know people who haven't eaten meat their entire lives and they are healthy. Also to quote someone "When you go to a hospital please find me a ward that's full of vegans". Most people with all the major illnesses such as; diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol all eat meat. Even cutting down meat consumption increases your life span, that's why Japanese people live longer because they eat minimal meat and mostly vegetables so you can imagine that a vegan diet is even healthier.
***** I think you mean atherosclerosis. :) Build of up fat in the arteries. Arteriosclerosis is the hardening of the arteries as you age... which I'm sure would also be lessened through a high carb vegan diet as you'd be lovely and hydrated all the time. :D
Exactly!! If your tired that is because you're not eating enough or not eating the right things, its definitely not due to eating a vegan diet. Protein is not the main provided of energy anyway so that wouldn't be the reason.. However its not their fault they think that way, these are the ignorant views drilled into people by society and the meat and dairy industries.
The vegan diet is to blame,Carbohydrates makes you full. Once you have a high intake of carbohydrate rich food,It would make you stop eating hence causing the probability of losing out on some nutrients or maybe calories.
Brandon Padwa No.. Veganism is about understanding why you're choosing not to et animals and they byproducts and why you don't wear animal skins and use makeup and other products tested on animals. It's about their well-being, about the environment and the people. Veganism is not just a diet, it's a stand against violence.
+Rainbow Unicorn456 She isn't overreacting, but she is simply stating her opinion, which I agree with. The Buzzfeed audience highly requested a "30 day vegan challenge", and this is what they produced, people cheating the diet, not eating the proper food, and lack of knowing what makes people turn vegan. Its pretty disappointing to say the least.
I actually went vegan bc I'm severely allergic to dairy but my lupus and RA were both out of control. After going vegan my breastmilk supply nearly tripled, my 8 month old son is in the 90% percentile for height and weight respectively, so obviously the quality of my milk is great, my joint pain has lessened enough for me to go off of my meds and use yoga and heating pads to maintain, and my lupus is in remission. After losing a kidney at 15 and being in so much pain I couldn't get myself out of bed or use my hands at all I was desperate to try anything. Now I manage my symptoms with a healthy vegan diet, I'm able to gain weight and am now almost 90 lbs, I'm able to lift weights and run and do yoga, and I'm able to work and be a mom without nearly as much pain or struggle. This diet honestly did things for me I had completely lost hope of ever having, and my single kidney is in such good shape I may not actually need a transplant. I recommend that everyone at least tries a more plant based diet as I would never tell anyone to completely eliminate things, but even just eating MORE veggies and greens causes such a significant change that in my experience it's completely worth it.
They need to a) Watch Earthlings, b) Look up vegan substitutes (vegan meats and cheeses), c) Be sure to eat plenty of carbs, d) Watch Gary Yourofky's Georgia Tech Speech, and e) Eat a lot of fruit. Like a lot.
+Becky Carlson Vegan meats are NOT good for you whatsoever, nor are processed carbs which is ALL rice and wheat. Read a bit more about nutrition before giving people poor information.
hannah tarra Tell me then O wise one how I am "so wrong" Tell me about the health implications of vegan fake meats and PROCESSED carb consumption long-term??? (I'm VERY interested in your analysis of this) If you're one of these vegans who say fat is bad for you and eggs raise your cholesterol then don't bother replying lol.
How are they struggling with being vegan in la??? I don't have any problems and the nearest vegan restaurant to me is 2+ hours away, it really isn't hard
I live in Siberia and don't struggle with being vegan at all. I even don't know if there are any vegan restaurants. :) But I want to visit one some time.
Ive been vegetarian for a month and let me tell you something.I'm 75% less depressed than when I used to eat meat,I'm happier,I lost 8 pounds without exercising something that was impossible when I used to diet while still eating meat. You can still cook pretty much every recipe you used to make.I replaced the beef with portobello mushroom and I replaced the chicken with cauliflower and voila you get yummy supper recipe
mila l congrats! I'm trying to eat more vegan, and probably only had cheese once this year because it was by accident. Eating vegetarian is very easy and such amazing food!
This was like the worse choices of vegan food ever though. Don't go for the fake meat and stuff like that, that's disgusting... Go for the asian vegan food. Indian stews, thai soups and noodles and stuff like that. That's the good vegan food!
Crazyanimalsrule Games chocolate comes from fermented coco beans what you are thinking of is a product called milk chocolate which is just that chocolate that is mixed with milk and typically sweeteners.
Aren't they in LA?? There are so many freaking options for vegan meals there!! Seriously. all of us other vegans who live elsewhere are salivating with jealousy and these ppl don't even appreciate their convenience.
But it can't have parmesan, or any meat, or any cheese sauce like alfredo in it. Spaguetti without cheese is sad spaguetti. Nobody wants sad spaguetti...
Buzzfeed should redo this and not actually make it half assed...there is so mucb you can eat as a vegan and their trainer lady was terrible at making it seem even somewhat appealing..
Kattykat49 I think she thought It was disrespectful because they went into it being completely negative and not really trying/ taking it as a joke. Yes taste differs from everyone but I feel as if they didn’t even try, maybe if they put a little more effort and a more positive aspect they might of liked it
Kattykat49 They were disrespectful about it because they went into it with what seems like zero to very little knowledge of vegan food options and didn’t take advantage of vegan restaurants or vegan cooking. They were all sad that they couldn’t have ice cream when there’s tons of amazing vegan ice cream options at most grocery stores. Ben and Jerry’s has vegan ice cream flavors. Like Peanut Butter and Cookie which is literally amazing and I’ve tricked many people with it. They never would have guessed it was vegan. Being vegan isn’t just about eating fruits and vegetables and beans. There’s so many options. So many. And these people complained about being hungry. If you do veganism properly there’s no way you’d be hungry all the time.
Veganism is not only a diet, is a lifestyle. It involves what you eat, what you wear and the products you use. If you are a vegan you don't consume products tested on animals or that involve animal cruelty in any way.
***** I reckon veggies-based diets are options for everyone, so if you decide not to follow them, that's respectable. They're not an obligation. As long as you don't hurt somebody else freedom, you're free to live your life however you like. I'm not here to judge anybody :) Hope you have an amazing day.
Do it!! My husband changed to a vegetarian diet 9 years ago. It was tough in the beginning, but he came over to my house a lot, so there was always healthy and filling food for him. He noticed a difference in how he felt (more energy, lighter on his feet though not necessarily in weight, just better) after just a couple weeks.
Lol I'm not vegan but I've been looking at vegan recipes all night and it all looks delicious! You can make vegan mac n cheese, vegan burgers, vegan pancakes, pretty much anything!
This video was posted before I was vegan and I didn't think much of it. I decided to re watch it after being vegan and this is absolutely disgusting. All they cared about were themselves and not animals. And your not tired because of lack of protein... if anything its B-12 deficiency or calorie deficiency but thats unlikely for being vegan only 1 month.
B12 is fed to animals and is derived from plants. So why don't you just eat b12 straight from the b12 pot instead of eating it from a animal which has already eaten it then died?
So true especially when the short haired girl claimed that you can eat dairy from a farm that treats their animals ethically. When dairy cows are forcibly impregnated that def not ethical!!
kafleeen it is, indeed, slang. I've used it myself before and I can assure you that I have a more than decent vocabulary and grammar skills. I read almost an obsessive amount 😀
"What's vegan and delicious?" "avocados" really? What about vegan burgers, vegan ice cream, vegan tacos, vegan hot dogs, vegan milkshakes, and so much more than that even. There are many delicious high carb healthy vegan meals that you can make as well.
I'm not vegan (I'm basically vegetarian but not at all because I eat fish chicken and turkey) but vegan ice cream is wonderful. Or at least the kind we buy
This video was so frustrating to watch, I wish they would have taken the time to actually get educated on what veganism is all about. Most people just think vegans eat lettuce all day and judge people who eat meat. And yes of course there are vegans who take it too far with comments and say hateful things, but so do people who eat meat. But in all reality, being vegan is one of the most selfless things you can do, for the planet, for animals, not to mention for your loved ones because you are keeping yourself healthy, which means you are able to enjoy life with those around you, not being plagued with illness and enslaved to taking medication. The only focus in this video was the food, and the food they chose to eat was so boring and bland and unappetizing. Vegan food can be delicious if you put the effort into finding recipes (which hello, Pinterest). If Buzzfeed ACTUALLY wanted to "find out what veganism is all about" then the outcome of this video would have been completely different. :/
I completely agree, it's really irritating, but at least people get some exposure to veganism from this video. Who knows, maybe someone watches this (or any other one of buzzfeed's vegan videos) and decides to do their own research into veganism. Maybe they would even go vegan. At least it plants seeds. :)
I went vegan for a few days to see how I liked it (I'm a vegetarian) and it was pretty easy. I love milk but almond milk tastes almost the exact same, vegan butter is delicious and I don't really like the taste f meat anyway.
+Narissa Howell i was really hoping that part of becoming a vegan would be educating themselves on the ethical side of it, but no. really disappointed...
I wish buzzfeed would redo this and do this the proper way, for example there is vegan pizza, vegan cake, vegan Mac and cheese line cmon guys... it's not just veggies and fruit geesh
+KpopKayla yeah but they knew nothing about proper well balanced fruit and vegetable meals. They just thought a small salad was fine to eat for lunch everyday
They should have used people who are more aware of veganism and what it means to be vegan and use people who actually are interested in this kind of diet to hype it up instead of shut it down
They didn't like being vegan because our society is built around animal consumption, so they felt deprived. Also, they didn't know how to be vegan properly, they didn't know how to cook delicious vegan food or to eat the required variety so they wouldn't feel tired. Basically, if you've been an omnivore your whole life you won't successfully convert to a vegan lifestyle overnight. It's a gradual process for most people because it requires such a major change that it can't be accomplished all at once. I'm still in transition to becoming fully vegan, but I love discovering new recipes and things to eat, that I've never heard of when I was an omnivore. And the most important point is that we aren't vegans for ourselves, we are vegans for the animals. Cheese and meat may be delicious, but we don't feel that our gastronomic desires give us the right to abuse and kill animals, when we can have a balanced and healthy plant-based diet. You can comfort yourself with the myth of "ethical" farms all you want, but there is no ethical way to kill someone who wants to live and no ethical way to keep in captivity someone who wants to be free. Farm animals have no protection against animal cruelty because they are already as good as dead, and their only value is as a resource to be consumed, not as a living being with feelings, emotions, and intelligence.
Amen! They weren't eating enough and not enough of the right foods. I don't understand how people can be so disillusioned with "ethically raised meat" first off, it's a living sentient being not "meat" and second there is no way to ethically kill and exploit others. Your right, people need to make the connection.
well al im going to say is. that. a man has to be a man a cow has to be a cow so since im a creature that involved to eat meat and fruits i will eat both and fuk u cow
it's been the same way for thousands of years you hippie. you think you are gonna change the world with your vegan mindset? keep dreaming sensitive little child.
it's crazy how so many people equate protein and energy. Most likely the dairy industry's doing. They've been pushing the idea for decades. I think you're correct about the calories.
+juwlofga Yep probably the main reason why some fail a plant-based diet; they feel tired all the time, but it is just because they aren't used to eating such high volumes of food to pack in the calories for energy. The conventional diet foods are just so dense.
+Oliver Sharratt-Chan actually vegans don't have trouble with iron because we get a good bit of vitamin c which is necessary for the absorption of iron into the blood. On the other hand meat eaters are very often vitamin c deficient which in turn leads to anemic symptoms. We vegans get all the iron we need from leafy greens and legumes.

+Abby Nenninger I love The Try Guys, it was just another excuse to see them really. But The Test Friends are not bad so it would be nice to see them all together in one video :)
Dude are you serious? I've been on a vegan diet for a month now and I feeling freaking great! I have SO MUCH MORE ENERGY, I'm not feeling sickly full all the time, my body works so much better, and I am finally losing weight without starving myself. The thing is though, I don't eat tofu, soy, vegan meat, etc. I stick to whole grain pastas, whole grain bread, fruits, veggies, potatoes. I get all the protein that the body needs from that, you really don't need much protein at all. What you need is calories and carbs to get through your day with lots of energy, not protein!
Agreed. When I was vegan, I felt healthier and had so much energy. I think they were eating the wrong kinds of food (French fries are still vegan) instead of eating correctly like veggie stir fries with rice or vegetarian pasta, etc. If they're only eating out, then that's the problem!
I'm 17 and I have been Vegetarian for my entire life. I when completely Vegan about a year ago. I am also dont eat Wheat and Sugar. My results: More energy and absolutely NO ACNE.
I was talking about what one of the guys said "I feel tired, probably from the lack of protein" (or something like that) imo this statement is ignorant (in the real sense of the word) because a lack of protein does not cause you to be tired (or anything for that matter, lack of protein doesn't exist) however a lack of calories can make you tired, that's just what I wanted to point out
pee jay BTW protein have as much calories as carbs, they can be broken down by the body into BCAA's and used as instant energy by the body, a lack of protein means a lack of BCAA's which makes you feel sluggish, a lack of protein also deteriorates Cell health and replication this could lead to other health problems.
I totally agree with you, my point being that blaming it (lack of energy) on a lack of protein is a quick and false assessment, cause on a vegan diet you have more than enough protein even without soy product and mock meat
They probably felt like it was restricting because they're used to eating NOT like a vegan. Not having to think twice before eating. Having to want to eat a hot dog and then being like "oh no I can't cuz I'm vegan". It's not that they were doing it wrong, it's natural to feel restricted not being able to eat the food that you want.
ricko62291 There is no such thing as ethically raised meat. You cannot 'ethically' breed something to just kill it. Killing a sentient being is not ethical or humane, regardless of how it's done.
Growl Rache I never said it is or isnt an ethical practice. ive worked in the meat industry for 5 years. they treat the animals very well, people can get fired if they hit an animal. Its just a matter of meeting demand, and I can assure you that demand will outgrow supply sooner than later.
They live in California which happens to be in a drought. Do they not realize how much water raising animals takes? Also, it's just bad for the environment in general. Please don't respond telling me that my vegetables take more water because they don't.
Omg finally!!! A couple days ago Kalel Kitten posted a video about being vegan. I'm not a hundred percent vegan, but whenever I smell, see, or think of meat. I think of the poor animals that were abused, taken away from their mothers, lived their whole life in fear to only be killed , shredded up, and eaten not be thought of again. People don't think twice of what they eat, would you eat your cat or dog? No. I am vegetarian but I don't agree how animals are treated and then put to death
This really portrays veganism in a negative light. It was upsetting when the one woman said she felt restricted in her eating. They should have given her more information beforehand. Veganism is not supposed to be restricting, really you can eat pretty much as many whole foods as you want and not have to worry about weight gain or feeling ill. Also it seems like they weren't made aware that there are vegan versions of the things they were craving, like cream cheese and ice cream. They taste just as good as their nonvegan versions. It's very unfortunate that they didn't go about this in a better way. 😕
+Richard Wang There is no scientific proof to support what you are saying. In fact, evidence shows that meat is not healthy, and not eating meat is good for you.
+Makennah Horn She was literally restricted in her eating. If you're an omnivore you can eat anything that's edible (even if it's nasty albeit), if you're a vegan so many of your foods you could eat or usually eat are off the table. Not saying that's bad but I don't see how you were upset. Think of any restaurant that isn't specifically vegan (remember a lot of places don't have vegan restaurants). What is the food everyone always gets?
I think the point was to capture the average, uneducated journey. That way people can see this, and want to start their journeys better. They said at the end that it was trial and error and education is important. Idk. That's what I got out of it. Have a nice day!
people always assume you can't eat anything as a vegan yet vegans can still older a whole meal at mcdonalds including a veggie burger, fries, a diet coke and an apple pie and ketchup and bbq sauce 😂
Emily Jane I DIDN'T KNOW BBQ SAUCE, DIET COKE OR CHIPS CAN BE VEGAN LET ALONE AT MCDONALDS!!! Thank you so much for sharing! This is in the U.K. right? 😱
4:29 As honourable as Jen's words are, that's not true at all. People drink cows milk because they are told since they're young they need it. Humour me. Who should drink cat milk? Baby cats Who should drink whale milk? Baby whales Who should drink human milk? Baby humans So who should drink cow milk? Human??? No. Baby cows. Getting milk from a cow means that the female cow has to be kept constantly pregnant so she will lactate. So they shove cow sperm up the female cow so they can meet the demand the industry has. And no meat is "ethically raised" up the animals are slaughtered for human consumption. That is in no way ethical. These are just excuses so non vegans can feel ok about they're diet. Even when they actually are contributing to animal cruelty.
[insert cool name here ] At least they got the word out there. Not totally accurate but still something. Dont be one of the typical vegans know it all stereotype.
I feel like they're completely missing the point of veganism... the "punishment" is to watch someone eat a burger? So instead of actively trying to cut down on animal byproducts, they're purposefully buying others meat and cheese and so on??
+BookularBrenda and all they're focusing on is how terrible it is and constantly comparing the foods against animal byproduct foods when they should just be treating it as it's own completely different entity.
+BookularBrenda Agreed. Its like they took people who had no clue how to eat anything other than hot dogs and burgers and said be vegan. it was a guaranteed fail. Have you seen the movie Vegucated? There they took people and had them promise to go vegan but also educated them about it and the outcome was significantly different. They just know on buzzfeed they get a lot of hits from something like this. All those people cheated. They did not go vegan.
All that matters in this video happens after minute 4, which is where people who are vegan show what they actually eat and cut off the bs of only eating salads and rice and beans. What that guy said it's really what matters: you can't force people into veganism or vegetarianism; you can show them your arguments, let them educate themselves if they wish to, and share amazing meals so they see how freaking delicious vegan meals can be. Never, ever is forcing people going to help them or make them become vegan or happy human beings. Much less punishing them.
Well said. What made you want to be a vegetarian? I want to be one myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
Trashi Pack, even better just ditch the pasta, make homemade fries your starch for the meal, and fill up on beans, tomatoes, leafy greens, and fresh fruits. Love being vegan :)
I'm not vegan but I am vegetarian and it's one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since then I have gotten so much happier, much more energetic and I have lost some weight. Being vegetarian or vegan is a great decision if you do it properly.
I really hate how they're making veganism sound so awful. I;m sorry. I dont mean to be rude its just that this video completely misrepresented veganism and I thought buzzfeed was supposed to be about open-mindedness and progress. Jen i love you but there is no way to ethically eat dairy. Cows only produce milk when they are pregnant and just after being pregnant (much like humans). Therefore, you must keep them pregnant and keep taking and killing their babies to keep them producing milk. In many ways this makes the dairy industry EVEN WORSE than the meat industry. This video just made me sad. Now they are completely turned off from this amazing lifestyle because it was not presented to them in a good way at all. I'm so sorry. Why the hell didnt they show them a documentary on the WHYs of veganism and have someone LITERALLY TELL THEM WHAT THEY CAN EAT OTHER THAN RICE AND BEANS BECAUSE THEY CAN EAT SO MUCH WITHOUT HARMING ANIMALS. I'm sorry I dont mean to yell.
because they are only interested in the milk, the babies are supposed to be growing up with their moms but because they cannot drink the milk, they dont get the nutrients necessary to grow up. they are either sold for veal or disposed of. the point is its cruel and disgusting
+Ramon Garcia Because they aren't sentient, thinking, pain-feeling beings. They don't have a nervous system or a brain. I hate when people say this. It's the dumbest thing and the last resort in this type of argument.
Fay Caramel the whole scene with the ice cream truck was pointless. It wasn't like they honestly tried vegan ice cream or anything. It was just like "awww EVERYONE is having ice cream and we can't:( :( :( " whereas if anyone took the challenge seriously they could grab an imitation ice cream together from a grocery store to curb that craving
This is such a bad example of veganism and they really should've spoken to a longtime vegan not just a nutritionist cause if they're aren't vegan they cant give the best advice. If you eat normal amount of calories then you literally cant get a protein deficiency. You can have awesome foods that are vegan lots of biscuits, crisps, and sorbet, and other stuff. There is a protein in cheese (casoprotein) that humans metabolise into caso-morphine, meaning its literally addictive, it has that so the calf will return to the mother to drink more You cannot eat meat or diary and be cruelty free its literally impossible. How can an industry based on murder and abuse be cruelty free no matter how humane it is your still confining impregnating and killing animals.
+prachi dalal Probably not eating tasty vegan meals either, they probably were all on salad beans an rice only lol. Also it feels like they didn't know there is vegan cheese, ice cream, mayo, yogurts, chocolate cakes etc.
I bet you a thousand dollars that they didn't watch their nutrition and balance meals during this month long vegan experiential and that's why they were tired and generally icky. I feel they cheated the experience because I know they did it wrong.
+Leah Unfeigned what about fish? Does that mean that pescatarianism(idk if that's how you write it) is a healthier lifestyle than being vegan or vegetarian?
+Leah Unfeigned "What's healthy is depended on the individual." that isnt true and is not backed by science. There is an ideal human diet and with the exception of food sensitivities to about 1% of the population, apply to all humans. Where are you getting your information from?
this makes veganism seem so bad, wich it's not. I've been vegan for about a month now and there are so many delicious things like falaffel, risotto, spaghetti, guacamole, curry, udon noodles, pancakes, amazing smoothies and ice creams and the list goed on and on and on
+Gabi Labovitz They make vegan cheese now, silly. In addition to what Johanna listed above: Duncan Hines cake and icing w/ Ener-G Egg Replacer, burritos, pizza using CHAO cheese, oatmeal, various soaps, and an endless number of casseroles.
Ok I am a Vegan and I think this was done wrong I feel like you guys didn't Portray the vegan diet/lifestyle very well they all went in with closed minds and didn't seek really good vegan thing and gave no education on true Veganism and no hate to you guys you guys make good videos I'm just saying next time please actually do research and go in with open minds and seek out truly good flavorful vegan food (for all the meat eaters who say vegan food is gross , ya well just an FYI the seasonings and spices do you put on meat to make it taste good ya those are vegan/plant based, you put vegan food on meat to make your meat taste good so ya!)
So, you researched all the farms all over the world? I heard Kobe beef cows are given beer along with other good quality foods. And the daily massage :D
Just so y'all know. I've been vegan all my life, and veganism doesn't mean "eat only smoothies, salads, and water" there are LOTS of unhealthy foods that could make you gain a lot of weight while still be vegan. Vegan doesn't equal anorexia it just means you don't eat animal products. I wish that people could understand that...
+Violet I was vegan for almost three years (I loved it and only stopped because of a financial hardship) and I definitely noticed that I ate a little bit more sugar and carbs than normal. It wasn't that difficult to cut out the bad stuff once I noticed it, but during the experimentation stage it was difficult to find a routine.
It's awesome that buzzfeed is uploading more videos about veganism. I haven't eaten meat since March 2014 and I honestly don't see myself ever going back. I just wish some people are more open-minded and actually educated themselves about where our food comes from and the harm factory farming is doing to the planet.....our home......instead of always declaring their love for bacon cheeseburgers and steak or whatever non-vegan food in every comment they post.
+Xialen Louisse Vegetarian since April 2015 and not regretting a thing! I accidentally ate a piece of pepperoni earlier today (the veggie pizza and combination pizza leftovers got mixed up...) and nearly gagged. Not because of the taste, but because I felt ashamed by it. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I've learned so much about the meat industry in the past few months that it now totally repulses me. I'm disgusted by it, so seeing that vegetarian and vegan diets are becoming so popular gives me so much hope!
I hate that they looked at this as such a negative thing . I recently bevame vegan and Im loving it so much. Its not for everyone but they should've embraced it and tried to make their own yummy vegan food , thats what Im doing . Going out and trying to find good vegan food could be tricky .
I don't get vegetarians... If they're against animal abuse then they wouldn't drink milk and eat cheese and stuff because they are really badly mistreated? I know this video is about vegans btw
+Jazzy Moffat its good to start out as a vegetarian and transition to being a vegan and also those people might just not be educated on the cruelty that happens when you eat dairy and eggs
+Stay Trill thing is, it's not just as simple as 'milking a cow'. They basically have to be pregnant for most of their lives in order to constantly produce milk to keep up with demand, otherwise they're deemed useless. And that means you're denying a calf it's mothers milk and a chance to grow healthy and strong.
+Leah Unfeigned 90-95% of the beef in america comes from factory farms. Thats the cruel farms you see on TV that mistreat their animals. Why not watch some "mercy for animals" videos? They have people go undercover to see whats going on in those sorts of farms.
***** you're right, hens do lay unfertilised eggs. But the problem is the conditions they are kept in for the majority of factory farms. The reality is that in order to keep production consistent with demand they have to farm hundreds of hens together, so often they cut their beaks off with hot blades to prevent them from injuring each other, even 'free range' hens. I'm not denying that there ARE farmers who treat their animals well, but the majority don't and its hard to make that distinction as a consumer.
+Ben isnotamazing me too. What is ethical about raping a female cow, kidnapping her baby, and locking him or her in a crate unable to move? Dairy = torture, any way you slice it.
+gladitsnotme torture? you must live a very secure life lol. there is this thing, called the real world. where there is this crazy thing called violence. I know it may be too rough for you i understand
Can't we get it from the local shops? I know this guy who raises only a few cows, no animal abuse, no hormones, but he goes out every once and a while to get milk. Is it okay to do that?
I've been vegan for a year now and once you've figured out which brands and products you can eat and which supplements you should take it's super easy and delicious. But always remember: the vegan lifestyle is not just about food, you should also avoid buying leather or certain make up brands, but that's not too hard if you're informed correctly and you know your alternatives
My family makes sure to get grass fed, non gmo, and cruelty free meat every time. We do have to pay a little more but we don't buy things that we aren't sure about. It makes me happy to know that it hasn't been through a rough life😇
Anna Leona as a person who has grown up on a cattle farm my whole life and is a part of the ffa. I know that there are good regulations on meat in stores are required to follow otherwise they get shut down. Also there are some negative effects that come from not killing animals, especially if they are suffering from disease or an injury. Antibiotics can only help animals so much before it is necessary to kill them humanely. If you still dont agree with that then try hunting. Because even though it is still killing, you know how the animal has lived, you are helping not only that animal's population but also the environment as a whole, and you know personally what happens to the animal when it is killed and after it is killed. We will all have different opinions, but all of us must know each and every fact before coming to any conclusions.
Lampasas FFA Band Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it's right. Slavery was legal. Now we are enslaving animals. And if we believe we are entitled to take a life simply for our pleasure or because that way we "know" how the animal lived, we might as well also kill dogs and other pets, because we knew how their life was. Nature regulated animal populations before, so it'll be able to do that now as well. Therefore there aren't any negatives to not killing animals. No suffering, no poisoning ourselves, and no destroying the planet.
Umm... we DO kill dogs and other pets, usually when they're old and/or sick, and living is too rough for them. Nature regulated animal populations before humans because there were other predators who controlled them. However, guess what happened to most of the predators? That said, nature's regulating the wild pigs down in the South REAL well (not really), so much so that they're destroying miles of land because they are walking wasteland creators, and the natural regulation of Lionfish in the Gulf of Mexico is going BEAUTIFULLY (also not really), as they kill off local species because they have no natural predators, there.
Kacper Wróblewski sorry didn't know that.I always try to work on my english with movies and books but there are always things i don't know.what word should i use?
Being a vegan isn't really that hard. Once you thoroughly educate yourself on the meat and dairy industry you WANT to remove yourself from the act of eating meat and dairy. Veganism isn't only a healthy way of life for your body, but it's also a movement. Veganism for me is much more than trying to be healthy, it is having compassion for the animals of Earth and wanting to help the environment.
(Don't give me any negative comments or feedback) But if you want to get educated and enlightened about where your meat and dairy comes from watch these videos: -Beyond Carnism -101 Reasons To Go Vegan -The Best Speech You Will Ever Hear -Earthlings (In this order) (I didn't make this comment to lecture anyone, I just wanted to help spread a little information. (-:
Why are carnists such idiots sometimes? As for your economics class, vegans are working with the concept of supply and demand.. so yea.. economics applies here.
+anch0redShips I'm a meat eater and I'm not bashing your position or anything, but you should link us to scientific studies, journals, or papers to help educate us. Sometimes, these videos have people pull facts out of their asses.
My god, it's 2017, can I watch ONE video about veganism that doesn't bring up Protein Protein Protein Protein Protein Protein Protein ? FOR GOD SAKE, Even if you took the foods with the lowest percentage of protein (potatoes, rice, etc), they're only about 5%, that's the amount we more or less need, as too much protein of any kind overworks your kidneys, and especially animal protein, which can make your blood acidic to your own skeletal structure. The protein myth is a boogeyman and we have to kill it ! I recommend watching the documentary "Forks Over Knives" on Netflix, it goes into it in great detail about it :) In short, As long as you're eating enough, you're getting enough protein :)
I don't understand why they don't give them meal plans or teach them a few recipes. Every time they do something like this they complain and hate it because they don't do it properly.
micky230598 I completely agree with this. These videos would be so much bette did they shared some recipes they were taught.
Or give them a vegan coach or mentor to help guide them for the thirty days to give them meal recipes that they would love.
but you know, I didn't get that when I started with veganism. I think it's mostly lack of research that is the issue
Yea the Asian guy needed some legumes asap if he felt weak that’s what I do then have a veggie fruit smoothie way faster than putting together a salad 🥗.
LMAO they live in la there's like vegan restaurants and stores at every corner 😂😂😂
exactly. it's like vegan heaven. you can go to the store and buy vegan chicken.
There is hardly any vegan restaurants. You need to go to special markets in order to get any vegan food
+Rosalina Rodriguez LA was literally the vegan mecca lol. Bev hills area.
I live in LA and there is hardly any Vegan restaurants, including Bev Hills
True 😂😂 where I live the only type of milk they sell is cow milk
You're in L.A. with an abundance of delicious vegan restaurants, restaurants from many cultures, and stores with vegan options...how can you go wrong?
Yeah ! I wish I had as many vegan restaurants as they do!
+charlycheer simple: money.
Right
CHARLY!!!!! I LOOOOVE YOUR CHANNEL
+Jennifer O hehe thanks so much for watching!
You guys need to redo this! You're in LA, there are so many amazing vegan places like gracias madre and cafe gratitude. They made being vegan seem miserable when it really isn't.
EXACTLY.
Pissed that people can make their own choices?
GabyTeeMUA they also just couldve went on youtube to look up vegan meals and snacks.
oh ya she sure seems pissed lmao
It’s supposed to be a vegan lifestyle. What person goes to a restaurant everyday?
They should have chosen people mentally open to veganism or at least a plant-based diet. Its never going to work for those that are already closed off towards it or have their mind pretty much made up to what they think its about.
And they live in LA. I live in a small city in upstate NY and I could be totally vegan but im now vegetarian. Its sad that a small town ny person can be pretty much vegan with no whole foods or trader joes. Yet the ones in LA cant even do it
They dont really choose people to do this, the people in this voluneered. So technically these were the people open enough to do this experiment.
'I'm constantly tired and I think it's because my body is lacking protein' More like not enough calories
Exactly what I said lol.
and carbs
Actually it's full of carbs
I know, right?
And iron
(and on a minimum wage salary)
I wish more people had access to fresh fruits and vegi's for a reasonable price when supermarkets literally throw out perfectly good produce by the ton everyday.
I do agree with you that it's off putting that people think it's okay to give you health lessons just because you eat a different way than they do.
ikr
+daffodilZephyr Hope this helps - how to eat vegan on $4 a day: www.amazon.co.uk/Eat-Vegan-4-00-Day-Conscious/dp/1570672571
im not vegan what so ever but I live in LA and just on my way to work. that is 20 min and I pass like 10 vegan restaurant and stores
+marianne I miss the veggie burger from my local McD. The chili sauce with a fluffy and at the same time crispy veggie patty is amazingly good
halycyon1234 and some indian food is vegan, there's vegan guacamole, there's like so many options, ton of affordable recipes and I feel like freelee all of a sudden, now I know why she rants
This made veganism look bad. I can assure you that giving this lifestyle a chance is not at all even close to this. The first step in becoming vegan is getting educated on it and being open minded.
***** lol, no it's not. It's the healthiest diet one could possibly follow. I would suggest doing some research on it if you'd like.
***** unhealthy things? Do you have any clue what you're putting into your body when you consume meat and dairy? It's actually quite sick.
+NimbleBlood If humans are carnivores, then how come they get arteriosclerosis? I was under the impression that carnivores are imune to it.
"I'm constantly tired and I think it's cuz my body's lacking protein" please, if anything he's probably lacking calories
IKR?! or they are experiencing various withdraws i guess
+Caitlin Griffiths yeah
The vegan diet is to blame,Carbohydrates makes you full. Once you have a high intake of carbohydrate rich food,It would make you stop eating hence causing the probability of losing out on some nutrients or maybe calories.
or lacking in brain cells
So they waited until the last day to ask their vegan coworker for help?
Buzzfeed needs to do a "People watch Earthlings for the first time" video!! This does not show what veganism is at all..
+Jemima Brennen Dont eat meat, or anything to do with animals... Pretty much covers "veganism".
Brandon Padwa No.. Veganism is about understanding why you're choosing not to et animals and they byproducts and why you don't wear animal skins and use makeup and other products tested on animals. It's about their well-being, about the environment and the people. Veganism is not just a diet, it's a stand against violence.
Jemima Brennen Except for the part that not all items that use animals are so said "violent" towards them.
Brandon Padwa Care to mention some of those items?
Jemima Brennen Honey off the top of my head. Also eggs, since the bird is never alive to actually feel pain.
I find it funny that when ever people do these things buzzfeed always has free food and something that they can't eat hahaha
Ikr
+summer ondler Thought I was the only one who noticed lol.
I think they do it every week or something. I see them post about it sometimes, I don't know
I think they have food all the time but it would be out of place if they weren't doing something like this
You just ruined the video
this is the worst way to try to be vegan. you just made a joke about it.
+Chef Jasmine the vegetarian chef made me feel better tho...
And of course, that one person that gets offended. 😒
They could have done a better job.
+Chef Jasmine chill out.. Its just a video l
Everytime they do these diets, Buzzfeed just randomly has food days....
they are literally trying to torture them.
I noticed that!!!!!
Buzzfeed probably has food days a lot but they're just not highlighted during some videos
+Riley Jones True xD
+The Fugly Duckling Buzzfeed gets free food basically everyday.
I love ur user name
They need to a) Watch Earthlings, b) Look up vegan substitutes (vegan meats and cheeses), c) Be sure to eat plenty of carbs, d) Watch Gary Yourofky's Georgia Tech Speech, and e) Eat a lot of fruit. Like a lot.
yes! they are no calories and then wondered why they are tired. they didn't talk about ethics at all. it's poorly done!
+Becky Carlson "vegan meats and cheeses" this sentence is in every horror story I've ever heard.
+Becky Carlson Vegan meats are NOT good for you whatsoever, nor are processed carbs which is ALL rice and wheat. Read a bit more about nutrition before giving people poor information.
+LightTruthLove you're so wrong hahahahahahahha take your own advice and inform yourself before giving people poor information :)
hannah tarra
Tell me then O wise one how I am "so wrong" Tell me about the health implications of vegan fake meats and PROCESSED carb consumption long-term??? (I'm VERY interested in your analysis of this)
If you're one of these vegans who say fat is bad for you and eggs raise your cholesterol then don't bother replying lol.
How are they struggling with being vegan in la??? I don't have any problems and the nearest vegan restaurant to me is 2+ hours away, it really isn't hard
I live in Siberia and don't struggle with being vegan at all. I even don't know if there are any vegan restaurants. :)
But I want to visit one some time.
+Liharina which city exactly?
Novosibirsk. And you?
anna tomlinson lmao i know right! there are 0 vegan restaurants where i live and ive been vegan for a year and its lit honestly
+SemiAutømatic Skeletøn describe 3 advantages that come with being vegan EXCEPT knowing that you dont kill animals/do harm
How to be vegan:
1. Eat Oreos
2. Eat French Fries
3. Eat Reese' s Puffs
4. Sleep
Oreos?
@@mounikathalladi8714 yes it's vegan
Ive been vegetarian for a month and let me tell you something.I'm 75% less depressed than when I used to eat meat,I'm happier,I lost 8 pounds without exercising something that was impossible when I used to diet while still eating meat. You can still cook pretty much every recipe you used to make.I replaced the beef with portobello mushroom and I replaced the chicken with cauliflower and voila you get yummy supper recipe
mila l awesome 💚
Cool. What made you want to be a vegetarian? I want to be one myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
It's such a rewarding life style.. alone the thought that you're not participating in animal suffering..
mila l Cool. I'll do it! Truth is I've wanted to stop eating meat for years.
mila l congrats!
+James Sarvan And middle eastern! Falafel is love, falafel is life.
+James Sarvan Mediterranean Vegan food. Hummus, hummus, hummus :D
And actual easy to make food so they can create these at home and possible stay vegan.
I like veggie burgees though.
+James Sarvan Indian Stews and food actually has a lot of dairy. It's a lot more suitable for a vegetarian diet as opposed to a Vegan Diet.
GUYS spaghetti is vegan and French fries are vegan!!!! You don't have to eat boring have fun with it
not necessarily, it has eggs in it pretty often
Inke Abernathy just check the ingredients but most of the time it's vegan
Hmm. I didn't know that. When I made it by hand I used an egg so I guess there's a lot of different ways to make pasta.
Yeah let's save the planet and get fat
Ravi Verma it's just potatoes and salt?
I thought becoming vegan would be really hard because i loved cheese and chocolate but their are substitutes for everything and it hardly effected me.
Cool.
What is ethically raised meat?🤔
Chocolate comes from a plant btw.
manuel vega
Chocolate has milk in it.
Jasmine Crane literallyyyyyy
I live in Iowa and I'm vegan, LA has a lot more vegan options that's for sure.
vegan ≠ healthy. Why is this the response to nearly every comment? I am vegan and I love unhealthy food.
Also...what makes people think that people go to restaurants every day?
Literally spaghetti is vegan guys get it together it's not that bad
But it can't have parmesan, or any meat, or any cheese sauce like alfredo in it. Spaguetti without cheese is sad spaguetti. Nobody wants sad spaguetti...
+ThePinkgirly1 u r life is sad spaghetti
+ThePinkgirly1 but what if I hate cheese to begin with because cheese is actually nasty
Then you can be vegan. I was planning on becoming vegetarian. I can't let go of cheese. I love it...
+ThePinkgirly1 same but I was just making a point
Buzzfeed should redo this and not actually make it half assed...there is so mucb you can eat as a vegan and their trainer lady was terrible at making it seem even somewhat appealing..
What made you want to be a vegetarian? I want to be one myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
God put animals on this earth for us to eat
+Fiona Daniel Not everyone believes in a magical bearded man in the sky.
Fiona Daniel stfu please.
Fiona Daniel They are ANIMALS, not meat.
They did veganism so wrong and were disrespectful about it.
Seriously. The title for this video should've been "4 people who have no concept of how to eat vegan properly complain about it for a month."
How were the disrespectful about it? They didn’t like the diet. You can’t expect someone to enjoy the same things as you
Kattykat49 I think she thought It was disrespectful because they went into it being completely negative and not really trying/ taking it as a joke.
N R veganism is disrespectful
Veganism is not only a diet, is a lifestyle. It involves what you eat, what you wear and the products you use. If you are a vegan you don't consume products tested on animals or that involve animal cruelty in any way.
+Laura C I love animals, but I also love cheeseburgers
+Connor H XD SAVAGE
***** I reckon veggies-based diets are options for everyone, so if you decide not to follow them, that's respectable. They're not an obligation. As long as you don't hurt somebody else freedom, you're free to live your life however you like. I'm not here to judge anybody :) Hope you have an amazing day.
+Connor H Three words, Black bean Burgers. Better tan regular, and you could use vegan cheese, cashew cheese is best cheese.
Lily Taylor Yaaaaaas, now I'm hungry. Quinoa or falafel burgers are also amazing.
I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian (I don't eat much meat anyway) and then, in a few years, gradually become a vegan.
Going vegetarian was the best thing i ever did 🙋🙋🙋 deffo do it
I would say go for it! I'm a vegetarian and boyfriends have always scoffed at my meals but then when they eat it they end up loving it!
I don't eat dairy but i eat meat. I'm the opposite lol. Btw getting rid of dairy really helps acne👍🏼
That's an amazing idea :)
'I'm constantly tired and I think it's because my body is lacking protein' ...*facepalm*
+erca waters lol ikr
+erca waters exactly
+Charlie Eleanor it's because they're lacking carbs🙄
lacking iron*****
literally me
Lol I'm not vegan but I've been looking at vegan recipes all night and it all looks delicious!
When dairy cows are forcibly impregnated that def not ethical!!
they naturally give milk for their children to have.
Also let's not forget, b12 deficiency is common to all humans now-a-days, vegan or NOT, because most people don't eat their meat and eggs raw.
of course they care about themselves because the entire point of eating is to survive!
they're in LA for Crissakes. So much awesome vegan food
Charlotte Cady lmao you mean for christ's sake?? not crissakes , pffft
kafleeen it's slang lol
Scandi Snowgirl I mean it might be, but considering the amount of TERRIBLE grammar in the comment sections of youtube, I can't tell anymore lmao
kafleeen it is, indeed, slang. I've used it myself before and I can assure you that I have a more than decent vocabulary and grammar skills. I read almost an obsessive amount 😀
Scandi Snowgirl haha ok good that gives me hope 😂
"What's vegan and delicious?"
"avocados"
really? What about vegan burgers, vegan ice cream, vegan tacos, vegan hot dogs, vegan milkshakes, and so much more than that even. There are many delicious high carb healthy vegan meals that you can make as well.
You'reCoolerThanMe K i was thinking oreos??? that’s always my example when people ask me
Also avocados are disgusting
Plus any fruit
I'm not vegan (I'm basically vegetarian but not at all because I eat fish chicken and turkey) but vegan ice cream is wonderful. Or at least the kind we buy
All that shits sounds just like a shittier version of the normal ones
Preach it!! 🙌🏻 I was so disappointed with this video. They were kinda disrespectful at times.
You can become ill and still b vegan, don’t act like it’s a fix all things situation. I am not vegan yet I know I am healthy
@@ellarose7025 did you get blood tests done?
Tamar Braxton's edges yes
well they could have eaten oreos... they're vegan
tru dat
Lays original potato chips are also vegan! ✌️ Enjoy.
+Meow Meow I discover that recently and i like it so much!
How are Oreos vegab. They have the cream filling
+Angelo Harley if you look it up it says Oreos are not vegan friendly
this made veganism look horrible :/
it's honestly not.
Exactly!
+xvixellax love ur profile pic
I went vegan for a few days to see how I liked it (I'm a vegetarian) and it was pretty easy. I love milk but almond milk tastes almost the exact same, vegan butter is delicious and I don't really like the taste f meat anyway.
cuz it is
"Meat eaters watch earthlings for the first time"
Yes!! This would be really great.
Yes!!! (And Cowspiracy + forks over knives)
+Narissa Howell i was really hoping that part of becoming a vegan would be educating themselves on the ethical side of it, but no. really disappointed...
Yaaaas
Please make it, buzzfeed!
This video is so negative and in reality, veganism is not bad at all.
Kaylynn Rae your joke made my day😂😂😂
Exactly being vegan is amazing
Agreed
I wish buzzfeed would redo this and do this the proper way, for example there is vegan pizza, vegan cake, vegan Mac and cheese line cmon guys... it's not just veggies and fruit geesh
like*
well the healthiest way to be vegan is to eat whole fruits and veggies.... all that stuff is processed foods
+KpopKayla yeah but they knew nothing about proper well balanced fruit and vegetable meals. They just thought a small salad was fine to eat for lunch everyday
well, this video isn't about being the healthiest you can, it's about being vegan
Also Indian food is very easy to make vegan. There are SO MANY options!
They should have used people who are more aware of veganism and what it means to be vegan and use people who actually are interested in this kind of diet to hype it up instead of shut it down
If I gave people the meals I eat, they'd love being vegan
Lol I don't care how good you are at cooking a vegan meal will never taste as good as a non vegan
+Addison Cagan it could but thats your opinion
Addison Cagan Keep your eyes open to new things.
+Zaza don't get me wrong I love some vegan meals I'm just saying nothing will ever beat a good piece of steak lol
Addison, you don't get out much.
Where's the donuts, pancakes, noodles
Live Epic . Ikr .
You could have icecream just get frozen fruit and almond milk or smth
+florance333 YAAAASSSS!!! THISSS!! You.... you are my spirit animal.
YES THIS IS MY FAVORITE COMMENT EVER
Amen! They weren't eating enough and not enough of the right foods. I don't understand how people can be so disillusioned with "ethically raised meat" first off, it's a living sentient being not "meat" and second there is no way to ethically kill and exploit others. Your right, people need to make the connection.
well al im going to say is. that. a man has to be a man a cow has to be a cow so since im a creature that involved to eat meat and fruits i will eat both and fuk u cow
it's been the same way for thousands of years you hippie. you think you are gonna change the world with your vegan mindset? keep dreaming sensitive little child.
that tired guy who thought he wasn't getting enough protein... maybe he wasn't getting enough calories?
it's crazy how so many people equate protein and energy.
He was tired because he wasn't getting enough iron, which he would normally get from red meat.

I want a *"The Try Guys" Vs The Test Friends (a.k.a. Testes)"*. I'm not sure what or why they would do it, I just want it! :D
TRY GUYS FTW
+Abby Nenninger hell yea
+Abby Nenninger I love The Try Guys, it was just another excuse to see them really. But The Test Friends are not bad so it would be nice to see them all together in one video :)
I want a try guys t shirt
+Lynx Nova Gaming Why doesn't this exist yet?? I'd totally buy this
I'm 13 and I've only been vegan for less than 2 years and it's easy asf¿¿
Lana Z. I'm 13 and I'm vegan for a month🌱
I’m 12 and have been a vegan for about 2 weeks now and transitioned to veganism after 3 1/2 years of being a vegetarian
that's amazing lena & rebecca, keep going!
Strong power, thank you!
Just another kpop fan , hahahaaha
Dude are you serious? I've been on a vegan diet for a month now and I feeling freaking great! I have SO MUCH MORE ENERGY, I'm not feeling sickly full all the time, my body works so much better, and I am finally losing weight without starving myself.
The thing is though, I don't eat tofu, soy, vegan meat, etc. I stick to whole grain pastas, whole grain bread, fruits, veggies, potatoes. I get all the protein that the body needs from that, you really don't need much protein at all. What you need is calories and carbs to get through your day with lots of energy, not protein!
***** I'm autistic because I found a diet that works for me?
Agreed. When I was vegan, I felt healthier and had so much energy. I think they were eating the wrong kinds of food (French fries are still vegan) instead of eating correctly like veggie stir fries with rice or vegetarian pasta, etc. If they're only eating out, then that's the problem!
ive been vegan for 8 months...its so easy😍
+Yoruko Chikokoro Agreed. No meat for 16 yrs and vegan for 3 and never felt better.
+Yoruko Chikokoro don't forget about beans!
Oreos are vegan
That's the only vegan thing I like lol
+Daisy Iven and fries?
+kimmidoll123 The sugar is filtered through bone-char. But, if your fine with that, then it is vegan.
Oreos r great
But vegans can't drink meat
I'm 17 and I have been Vegetarian for my entire life. I when completely Vegan about a year ago. I am also dont eat Wheat and Sugar. My results: More energy and absolutely NO ACNE.
iam mudumbi arun a telugu brahmin from india i have been vegeterian since my birth iam 29 so fit and and extremely healthy
Yes no refined or processed sugar.
+Guyatridas kerr what do you eat!
Im vegan too and if you want your acne to go away eat plant foods. A lot of fruit, potatoes, rice, pasta, beans, veggies.
Potatoes! Rice! And of course BEAAAANS! :)
All protein originally came from plants :)
calories are energy, protein aren't, so if you're tired it's not a lack of protein, it's a lack of calories...
+pee jay ummm proteins do make calories, you can get fat on just protein. what are you talking about?
I was talking about what one of the guys said "I feel tired, probably from the lack of protein" (or something like that)
imo this statement is ignorant (in the real sense of the word) because a lack of protein does not cause you to be tired (or anything for that matter, lack of protein doesn't exist) however a lack of calories can make you tired, that's just what I wanted to point out
pee jay lack of protein causes you to have weak muscles fibers that tire easily.
pee jay BTW protein have as much calories as carbs, they can be broken down by the body into BCAA's and used as instant energy by the body, a lack of protein means a lack of BCAA's which makes you feel sluggish, a lack of protein also deteriorates Cell health and replication this could lead to other health problems.
I totally agree with you, my point being that blaming it (lack of energy) on a lack of protein is a quick and false assessment, cause on a vegan diet you have more than enough protein even without soy product and mock meat
wooooooow this is not a very good vegan diet. veganism is NOT restricting.... buzzfeed, you guys obviously do not understand veganism.
Im not even vegan and i agree
They probably felt like it was restricting because they're used to eating NOT like a vegan. Not having to think twice before eating. Having to want to eat a hot dog and then being like "oh no I can't cuz I'm vegan". It's not that they were doing it wrong, it's natural to feel restricted not being able to eat the food that you want.
ethically raised meat isnt the problem. the problem is that animal agriculture is not a sustainable source of food for future generations
ricko62291 There is no such thing as ethically raised meat.
Its just a matter of meeting demand, and I can assure you that demand will outgrow supply sooner than later.
ricko62291 The problem is that eating meat and dairy causes too many problems.
ricko62291 still killing them though. That's murder of sentiment beings.
tip: if you feel tired, you aren't doing it right.
They live in California which happens to be in a drought. Do they not realize how much water raising animals takes? Also, it's just bad for the environment in general. Please don't respond telling me that my vegetables take more water because they don't.
Yes, but them becoming vegan won't stop that.
+Iris Marie Sorry, I'm gonna stick to meat
+Iris Marie AMEN SAY IT ONE MORE TIME FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Omg finally!!!
Alyssa Malik I was vegetarian for a few months first and now I'm completely vegan
No, they dont taste the same
I think the point was to capture the average, uneducated journey. That way people can see this, and want to start their journeys better. They said at the end that it was trial and error and education is important. Idk. That's what I got out of it. Have a nice day!
agreed!
I was vegan once... For like, twelve hours. And then I picked up the ice cream again. Yeah...vegetarian is more my style.
I fed a pig bacon once
+Lynx Nova Gaming Thats crewel in my mind
+Theresa Miles boobs
he seemed to like it tho
+Lylah The LandShark theres vegan ice cream ^-^
I looooveee how that one guy went from "lacking protein" to "meat is fucked up"
I'm not vegan but I try not to eat a lot of meat and dairy products
Yes thanks I didn't know the world
Leonard Leblanc I do the same actually, although I wish I was better with it
Why though?
That's a great start!
Same. I live in Turkey and being vegan is hard here so I try not to eat a lot of meat and dairy products
people always assume you can't eat anything as a vegan yet vegans can still older a whole meal at mcdonalds including a veggie burger, fries, a diet coke and an apple pie and ketchup and bbq sauce 😂
rana afhame it is in the uk 😱 you just ask for no mayo in the burger ! our fries are vegan
Emily Jane Fries aren't vegan- they're fried in the same oils as chicken nuggets
the apple pie has duck feather extract (where i live) and idek why.. the rest of it is vegan so wtf...
The fries are not vegan in America
Emily Jane I DIDN'T KNOW BBQ SAUCE, DIET COKE OR CHIPS CAN BE VEGAN LET ALONE AT MCDONALDS!!! Thank you so much for sharing! This is in the U.K. right? 😱
I'm a 14-year-old vegan and it's actually not bad at all 😂😂😂 idk why they made it seem for difficult and boring lmao
So no grilled hot dogs or burgers for you?
@@imdavidmayoandiapprovethis5746 there are vegan hot dog and vegan burgers
@@justicefonfara17 yes and vegan hotdogs and burgers taste incredibly good, especially mushroom meat!
4:29
As honourable as Jen's words are, that's not true at all. People drink cows milk because they are told since they're young they need it. Humour me.
Who should drink cat milk?
Baby cats
Who should drink whale milk?
Baby whales
Who should drink human milk?
Baby humans
So who should drink cow milk?
Human??? No.
Humans are meant to eat meat. It’s a way to keep the populating controlled. It’s your own opinion though
Katie G. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by that?
Katie G. Lol yeah ... no
@@katieg.3851 There are too many humans on Earth, yet cannibalism is illegal. Sooooo... No.
So much ignorance Ahhhhhh 😢😢😢
it frustrates be
At least they are trying.
They aren't at all. (Fred)

At least they got the word out there. Not totally accurate but still something. Dont be one of the typical vegans know it all stereotype.
Fred Bread wow i didn't know i was a vegan but i guess you know more about me internet stranger
i am vegan...........its not that bad
Chirag Jagwani it's the change part right ? like if you weren't vegan as a child and are now substituting things
agreed. Eating vegan is actually super easy, the hard part is everyone offering you non-vegan food all the time lol
Maya Staggs so true! Veganism is so easy! People don't realise it's not that hard
Navy_flyer why do we need supplementation?
Veganism is so much cheaper and better for you, why not do it
I feel like they're completely missing the point of veganism...
the "punishment" is to watch someone eat a burger?
It took me months to transition. I've now been vegan for 10 years. All cravings for meat are long gone.
I want to be one myself or maybe even vegan for health reasons and because I feel bad for the animals.
taibasbleu Okay. Cool. Thanks. I'll do it! Truth is I've wanted to stop eating meat for years.
My body is lacking protein lol NO😭
theskatergirl84 you dont even need protein lmao
theskatergirl84 you can get protein from pills..btw I am vegan for 5 yrs and its better
Dogs don't taste good, so no.
vegans get by far more protein than meat-eaters. its just a bias!
He's lacking calories
Like it's the hardest thing on the f*cking planet 😂 just eat some damn fries or pasta 😅
Pasta has eggs in it though
gita marcia some have, yeah. But most kinds are vegan ;) (at least in Germany)
90% of all pasta is vegan! Just read the nutrition facts!
Trashi Pack, even better just ditch the pasta, make homemade fries your starch for the meal, and fill up on beans, tomatoes, leafy greens, and fresh fruits. Love being vegan :)
Erin Fang im trying to go vegan *^* do you have an ig?
“my body is lacking protein” more ignorant words have never been spoken...
8 months being vegan and still going strong🙌🙌🙌
Emese Matos keep at it
I'm not vegan but I am vegetarian and it's one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since then I have gotten so much happier, much more energetic and I have lost some weight. Being vegetarian or vegan is a great decision if you do it properly.
Thats nice but you should stop eating dairy
I'm sorry I dont mean to yell.
why do they kill the babies instead of use them for beef/milk?
because they are only interested in the milk, the babies are supposed to be growing up with their moms but because they cannot drink the milk, they dont get the nutrients necessary to grow up. they are either sold for veal or disposed of. the point is its cruel and disgusting
that was really informative, ty
Yes! I hate how these people are disrespecting veganisim!
I see where youre coming from, but not every video is going to be perfect, if all the try people hate it... then they hate it!! not for everyone:)
So for people that think you will only will eat salads umm you know there it's many types of food that is vegan, like even vegan meat
THERE IS NO WAY TO "ETHICALLY" KILL AN ANIMAL OH MY GOODNESS.
+i moore Based on your ethics, but my ethics say that an animal can.
+Kenny Bushway well based on my ethics, it's ok to kill humans. Lions kill other lions so I can kill people too. It's the circle of life....
guccifer As long as you don't get caught your ethics remain true.
***** you're a troll right? or are you unable to make logical arguments?
She's just a mindless idiot
just because they were 'ethically raised meat' doesn't mean anything. they are still murdered so you can have a steak. pretty messed.
Exactly. There's no 'ethical' way to eat meat.
alanna7044 at least they get mercy killed rather that then being eaten alive by wolves.
+Ramon Garcia Your food eats more plants than us so shh.
+Ramon Garcia Because they aren't sentient, thinking, pain-feeling beings. They don't have a nervous system or a brain. I hate when people say this. It's the dumbest thing and the last resort in this type of argument.
S. T. It's a joke argument ._.
This pisses me off
Yeah it's the dumbest thing ever honestly
Kyla Desiree why?
Yeah... Me too. Don't take them to a freaking ice cream truck to film, JUST to have them say "we can't has" 😑
Sean Buckley
We can't has?
There is a protein in cheese (casoprotein) that humans metabolise into caso-morphine, meaning its literally addictive, it has that so the calf will return to the mother to drink more
You cannot eat meat or diary and be cruelty free its literally impossible. How can an industry based on murder and abuse be cruelty free no matter how humane it is your still confining impregnating and killing animals.
Ok well they're not eating the abundance they need that's why they're so tired
+prachi dalal Or they were eating crap vegan. Remember Oreo's are vegan.
+breanna daniel im vegetarian. but I feel time every single day
+prachi dalal Probably not eating tasty vegan meals either, they probably were all on salad beans an rice only lol. Also it feels like they didn't know there is vegan cheese, ice cream, mayo, yogurts, chocolate cakes etc.

It's really not that hard
agreed, especially if you live in a place that's not stuck in time
It isn't hard at all
What discipline? I can eat vegan versions of everything you eat and better.
I respect meat eaters for their courage. You never know when something may be contaminated with E. coli
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ETHICAL MEAT
Yes there is.
Dude there's no ethical way to kill an animal for your own taste lmao
S no there isn't. Humane means being compassionate. Is killing an animal compassionate? Exactly
They made this video half assed being vegan isn't that hard

that's probably why she's talking so highly about it
+JVN Why?

abundanceoferica because I know she's mentioned it before .
I bet you a thousand dollars that they didn't watch their nutrition and balance meals during this month long vegan experiential and that's why they were tired and generally icky. I feel they cheated the experience because I know they did it wrong.
vegan experience *
Yeah because you have to physically prepare for the unnatural and unnecessary diet that is vegan
+Leah Unfeigned That is very nice for you, but I was kind of hoping for a link to a research study or similar. Not your word for it.
this makes veganism seem so bad, wich it's not. I've been vegan for about a month now and there are so many delicious things like falaffel, risotto, spaghetti, guacamole, curry, udon noodles, pancakes, amazing smoothies and ice creams and the list goed on and on and on
risotto has cheese...

4:21 NO! It's not possible. do your research.
***** i won't try to argue with a nazi symbol LOL
Dat Boi humans with empathy sure do :)
So, you researched all the farms all over the world? I heard Kobe beef cows are given beer along with other good quality foods. And the daily massage :D
Persian Aryanism dairy is worse than meat practice wow
*wise
+Xialen Louisse I do love a bacon cheeseburger though, even though is unhealthy
I used to love them when I ate meat until I ate too much and felt super gross lol
what are you gonna do about animal cruelty. write a passive aggressive letter? lol. eat the food you want, don't shove it in people's faces
Xialen Louisse lol makes sense why you would feel that way
+Xialen Louisse Vegetarian since April 2015 and not regretting a thing!
They need to eat some damn hot for food recipes !!
I don't get vegetarians... If they're against animal abuse then they wouldn't drink milk and eat cheese and stuff because they are really badly mistreated? I know this video is about vegans btw
By "they are really badly mistreated" I meant the animals
I'm not denying that there ARE farmers who treat their animals well, but the majority don't and its hard to make that distinction as a consumer.
i find it funny that they think theres ethical ways to get milk and meat
+Ben isnotamazing me too. What is ethical about raping a female cow, kidnapping her baby, and locking him or her in a crate unable to move? Dairy = torture, any way you slice it.
+gladitsnotme torture? you must live a very secure life lol. there is this thing, called the real world. where there is this crazy thing called violence. I know it may be too rough for you i understand
Artoria Pendragon they still kill the baby cow to maximise milk production organic or not
iAMToXiiiK ua-cam.com/video/Y82jTI3BqRM/v-deo.html
Can't we get it from the local shops? I know this guy who raises only a few cows, no animal abuse, no hormones, but he goes out every once and a while to get milk. Is it okay to do that?
I've been vegan for a year now and once you've figured out which brands and products you can eat and which supplements you should take it's super easy and delicious. But always remember: the vegan lifestyle is not just about food, you should also avoid buying leather or certain make up brands, but that's not too hard if you're informed correctly and you know your alternatives
"You can eat meat and diary without contributing to the cruel practices" Haha, right...
My family makes sure to get grass fed, non gmo, and cruelty free meat every time. We do have to pay a little more but we don't buy things that we aren't sure about. It makes me happy to know that it hasn't been through a rough life😇
If murder isn't cruel, sign me up.
That said, nature's regulating the wild pigs down in the South REAL well (not really), so much so that they're destroying miles of land because they are walking wasteland creators, and the natural regulation of Lionfish in the Gulf of Mexico is going BEAUTIFULLY (also not really), as they kill off local species because they have no natural predators, there.
there is no such thing as ethically raised meat
Nope. Nothing ethical about quartering an animals life span
no there is no such thing as ethical murder.you can raise ethical meat, the living animal that is 😄
+CaptainMary By definition, murder is man killing another man so no, you can't call that a murder.
Kacper Wróblewski sorry didn't know that.I always try to work on my english with movies and books but there are always things i don't know.what word should i use?
CaptainMary It's fine, slaughter is the best (worst) word in this case.
(Don't give me any negative comments or feedback) But if you want to get educated and enlightened about where your meat and dairy comes from watch these videos:
-Beyond Carnism
-101 Reasons To Go Vegan
-The Best Speech You Will Ever Hear
-Earthlings
(In this order)
(I didn't make this comment to lecture anyone, I just wanted to help spread a little information. (-:
+anch0redShips Bacon. Your argument is invalid.
+anch0redShips that's good in theory but if you've had your economics class, you'd know that that's too unrealistic.
I recommend watching the documentary "Forks Over Knives" on Netflix, it goes into it in great detail about it :)
In short, As long as you're eating enough, you're getting enough protein :)
