Great advice thanks, I struggled a lot to sound natural on camera using word for word script until I found the option to present my videos using Powerpoint slides in a teleprompter, so I mirror-flip the slides with PPT Mirror software (using a bluetooth remote). which helps me to record videos while I keep eye contact with viewer and I always have my whole concept in front of the camera. Maybe this could be the best easiest option,
Great vid! Notes to self (Hope they help others also!): 1. Know your content. Only use the teleprompter as a guide if needed. 2. Read your script out loud while practicing. (Will also help catch grammatical errors) 3. Write your script in the same way that you talk. 4. Read your script out loud in front of a mirror. 5. Make sure you're projecting a lot of energy. (Think about how you'd like your audience to feel) 6. BEFOREHAND: Get yourself in a good mood (Sing, dance, fave coffee, play with your dog)
Thank you for this! I am excited I found you. I started a professional organizing business and I’m using my college best friend to do my social media. She’s pushing me to do more in front of the camera because she knows I’d be good at it. I don’t think I’m terrible at it but I know I could come across a lot better if I could just “be myself”. So thank you for providing tips to work on that!
Awesome, you got this! With a bit of practise you will start to feel more comfortable. Make sure to check out the other video on my channel on how to feel more comfortable on camera for more tips :)
Yes absolutely! You can repurpose your IG Reels to TikTok and to UA-cam shorts. You just need to make sure you are keeping the content native to each platform by following the best practises for both. I would recommend creating TikTok's first and then repurposing those to IG Reels since TikTok trends are usually ahead of IG.
Great video...loved how you said to write out your script and use the words you would use naturally...that really helped. Going back to my powerpoint VSL and changing some of the words/sentences on it :))
👍👍 Hi today ! I struggle to position my smartphone on tripod so ,that I can read my script from PC Desktop. Near at the Desktop, left or right, or on the top I not getting straight eye look into the cam. Do you have any tip for me ?
Hey! I would recommend either continuing to look at the phone and then cutting out parts of the video where you are looking at the script, or you could use a teleprompter right on your phone!
Ooh wow 😯 this is so cool it's great thanks for sharing this ❤️ giving another a big Big like thumbs up 👍👍👍 take care and have a wonderful day ahead see you again on next video keep intouch U know I already subscribed urs long back with Bell 🔔❤️
Biggest struggle is recording video without the script for less than one minute videos. Do you recommend me to use the telepromoter for one minute videos. But changing the background will be an issue.
Hey Suma, you could totally use a teleprompter if you like but the setup/takedown will be much more difficult. I would recommend writing out a brief outline and sticking it behind you somewhere while recording or even holding it in your hand so you can glance at it. Then in editing you can cut out the parts where you are looking down to reference your notes.
I understand that it can feel hard to think of new ideas all the time. Make sure to check out the other video on my channel where I talk about how to find content ideas.
You look good and sound good and your delivery was well executed. I'll offer a couple of my own tips from having worked in the field of video production since 1988. Your composition is poor, with your eyeline being approximately 1/2-way down the screen. If you watch the news or any professionally done video with a narrator on camera, you will see their eyeline is approximately 1/3rd the way down from the top of the screen. That's more pleasing and natural looking. Your background is a little cluttered although you have low enough depth of field such that it is softly out of focus. So that's a positive. The other issue I have (it's personal preference) is your use of background music throughout your presentation. That does nothing (for me) to improve your presentation. In fact, I find it distracting and would eliminate it entirely.
@@sumahomes-i4i First of all, hold your phone horizontally (preferably with a tripod or similar stabilizing device. Then take a very small piece of paper and draw a happy face on it. Secure the little figure to the front of the phone in a position (close to the camera) such that when you look at it you are composed nicely in the frame. Remember to always look at the happy face as you do your presentation.
Yes! Are you using an external microphone or internal? Using a proper external mic will make a huge difference. Also, you can use a wind sleeve over the mic to reduce and muffles.
I so resonate with this comment. I had this feeling too. Then I realised thats just what I sound like! 😂😂😂. Then I got used to it. Then I got over it. I read up on this and it has something to do with sound conduction in your head so you sound different to yourself compared to how others hear you.
Nice presentation and good information, but the biggest fault is in the jump cuts that you have included. Surely if you had rehearsed the script then these cuts would not have been necessary. Well done all the same x
Thank you. Sometimes jump cuts are used for attention resets, and although you have a script and practise it that does not mean you won't fumble over your words and have to start again. That is where the editing process comes in.
@@WandermintCreative They certainly grabbed my attention, but not for the right reason, it just made the presenter look like she had a nervous twitch. However, the content was very good once you ignore the distraction.
You can totally get there. It just takes practise, try doing some of the tips I mention in this video and check out my other video on how to feel more comfortable on video :)
I assume you are using your phone for video content then? You could get a a selfie mirror kit for your phone that reflects your phone image so you can see the teleprompter.
@@WandermintCreative Thanks that is solid advice ! I have also found that getting a Clicker for my teleprompter helps. the Clicker lets me control the speed or pause the teleprompter, so that I can elaborate if need be. Cheers and keep up the great content ! :)

Could you tell us what genre the music in this video is? Fits really well with talking head videos. Wish your channel a ton of success!
Hey! I am not 100% sure, I will have to ask my editor. I get all the music from epidemic sound though. They are tons of great options.

1/3rd the way down from the top of the screen. How can we achieve this in i phone. Any tips? I feel like I am reading down(eyes are down).

Like the message but your music volume is a little too high. The music is honestly unnecessary. Again good tips though!
I wish I could be this nature and comfortable on video. I’m so stiff it looks like I have a stick stuck up my butt! Seriously it’s sad.

Hi im indonesian
Biggest struggle is breathing LOL i need like a big breath break
Yes, definitely! I usually take a moment right before I hit record, and many breaks in between my thoughts lol
Voice over and script reading that is my main problem
Totally understandable, use the tips from this video and practise. You will get better ;)
