Well, if Michelle knew about Jessica, Jessica would’ve also known about Michelle. Would Michelle have discussed marriage with a cheating boyfriend? Would Jessica be excited to tell her cheating boyfriend that she was pregnant? And wouldn’t her family or friends mentioned that info to the police/media and that would’ve made his motive easier to prove?

I'm pretty sure he didn't give a shit about breaking anyone's heart. He already had a pregnant fiancée. It would have been next to impossible to hide Jessica's baby forever. Even if he told the truth to Jessica and broke it off, she'd probably want child support, etc and his fiancée, Michelle, would probably leave him. Even if she stayed with him, he'd be on the hook helping to support his child with Jessica. People who think they're smarter than the police figure murder is the easy way out.

Unfortunately, his life at home was known to be unstable as far as where he lived. He was bounced around between family members as a young kid.

The whole case was filled with circumstantial evidence.
The supposed blood stains found in the car and on the sword, were clearly planted.
I find it hard to believe that he would keep the supposed murder weapon, with blood on it, just laying around.
I'm not saying he did not do the murder at all, only that the case against him was very weak.
The Cops, Prosecutors, Judge, and Victims Family are a bunch of Vindictive A-holes.
I'm sorry Jessica is gone, but I have to say, if they were hoping he would say where he put her body ( if he really did kill her), that's out the window now. They don't have a hope in H*** of him saying anything now!!! And they deserve to never know where Jessica is, just for being A-holes.
I have very little sympathy for her Family, because of how Vindictive they have been, and how happy they were that he will die in Prison. Now they can suffer the rest of thier lives not knowing where Jessicca is. KARMA!!! 😃😃😃

@@gailobright8070wow you sound like an absolutely horrible person - and not a particularly clever one either, when your reckoning of the case doesn't account for the massive blood stain, confirmed to be Jessica's, on this loser's mattress.
A circumstantial case is not the same thing as a weak case, and the state doesn't actually have to prove the exact method of murder when the fact of a murder having happened is so clearly established and the motive and opportunity are so clearly concentrated in one person. The CSI guy planting evidence is awful and does have some implications for the specific theory of the crime and the means of cover-up, but the case was never hanging on those pieces of trace evidence in the first place - compared to the massive blood stains on the mattress, ceiling and walls, those little traces were insignificant. I'm glad the judges presiding over his applications for appeal/retrial had the brains to see the obvious in this case.

I'm stuck on how he, and his family can sit there and argue that there were other suspects, and that they zeroed in on him from the start. Really? You don't say! Could it possibly be because of the MASSIVE blood stain on his bed? Or the blood spatter all over his room, especially on the ceiling, that he covered in paint?? You know, the blood that matched her DNA?? 🤔🤔🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Good grief! They probably did help him get rid of the body!

Plea deals absolutely blow my mind, as does the theory that without a body there is no crime. Wow, to be working so many hours and juggling two girlfriends at the same time is one thing, but to have both of his girlfriends working at the same establishment and neither one knowing that the other was dating the same guy as she was is something else. I used to waitress at a couple restaurants back in the day, and everyone knew everyone else's business who worked there; perhaps because we all were friendly, and maybe these two, Jessica and Michelle, didn't converse with one another? You would think another coworker would have mentioned something -- gossiped, so to speak -- to one or the other or both of these ladies about who was dating whom within the restaurant, not even knowing that they were both dating the same guy/bartender.

    1. He's the last person she was on route to see. So unless a carjacking went.....oddly, and the blood spatter is co-inky-dink? He killed her
    2. Sounds like someone had to have helped, carry her up those stairs.... unless he cut her up? (I don't know how likely that is)
    3. His car wasn't the mode of transportation....not unless he's magical at cleaning.
    4. After a few days, bodies float, unless weighed down very well! So while not excluding water, its iffy. It sounds like he meant to bury her, but was able to get a better option available....within his timeframe.
    5. What was his timeframe for all this cleaning? While a week before the cops, he lived with people and had a job. So maybe 5-8 hrs max?

Maybe he (or his father) disposed of the murder weapon? Maybe they moved her body in his dad's vehicle? Someone obviously helped him, the guy who thinks there's no crime without a body would be confident in advising his son against a plea deal. Then again, if the dad got rid of the body maybe he didn't tell his son where. A plea deal would have been impossible. Lots of maybes, but someone should step up and tell her family where she is.

Hi Kevin, I thoroughly enjoy your interpretation of US and GB criminal cases. You tell the story in such a succinct way, without all of the repititious dialogue and dramatic music, normally associated with this type of genre. Im hoping that one day you will be able to lend your treatment to some notorious OZ infractions. Australia only has a population of 25 million people but we punch above our weight when we focus on this subject Thanks Kevin.

Right? It's people like that who make it so we can't trust our justice system. If I'd sat on the jury that convicted that guy I'd wonder what evidence was actually real. Because obviously his department has been letting him get away with it for some time. Maybe they're not all fabricating evidence but maybe they are. Or maybe presenting things in a way so they're perceived a specific way that doesn't give the full picture, just the tiny part they want you to see. Yes, I want murderers locked away from those of us who know how to act but this investigator is far from the only one ever caught doing this (and more that haven't been caught) so if they're doing whatever it takes to lock up who they want to believe it is rather than the actual murderer, that means in some cases the murderer is actually still walking free.

Yesrs ago it was something I had seen on T.V and I realized that I had been basically brainwashed into thinking everything was my fault, he broke my jaw but he didn't smack me intending to do it so it didnt matter etc If I disnt say whatever then he wouldnt have done it. Or even mentally beat me down where I hated myself and felt worthless. I didnt grow up on a household like that but I bevame a mom at 15 and when I met this guy he was good to my daughter that wasnt even his. When I watched somwthing I realized just how bad of a relationship I was in. Part of it was probably also being older at this point 22 and losing my mother. But its thanks to ppl like you that share these things because sometimes something could click and even if its just 1 person that matters so thank you!!
