metal sounds like a bunch of diatonic scale patterns played 4 times then they pick a new one.... but at least their tone is all distorted and sounds like death!?!?!?!?!
I mean he's playing for the song based on the guitar riffs I've written so can't blame him for that.
If you block out the completely out of place and out of time blast beat drumming, it's actually a pretty listenable song. The bassist plays really well and the tone is off the charts. His playing around the 2:58 mark onwards is out of this world phenomenal.

haha what can I say I love blast beats and that's how I wrote the song. It's James Payne from Kataklysm on drums and then Martino played his magic on top. Maybe check out the full track on Spotify. I assure you all the drums are in time.

I understand for me the blastbeats are ruining the song, but the drums are perfectly in time, it's just a choice of composing...
@@bap6te557 fair enough I know blast beats are not everyone's cup of tea. I'm a blast beats all day everyday kind of guy. But still a lot of melody and singing in my songs.

@@Demonstealer Thanks for the reply. I find you an awesome player and have nothing against you. What I'm saying comes from a good place. You are Martino Garattoni. Not Nolla Gatgood, Jacab Onmansky, Adrien Oropaza or Jarad Smiath. Because of producers and studios that like to photocopy the latest trend, other bassists tend to sound like clones, even though they might have their own unique talent, different style and technique. By sounding like that, make no mistake, people associate you with these other guys. Do you want that? Make the studio/producers/photocopiers earn their money and make you sound like you and not some other guy's preset. Only my 2 cents. Thank you for your time.
@@morbidalex666 no problem I appreciate you taking the time to reply and I do appreciate the perspective. So I mainly listen to the full mix of the song. This bass mix I did with the stems the studio sent me. Lemme know if you feel it sits the same way in the full song mix. Cheers!
@@Demonstealer I didn't say that it doesn't sit well in the mix (albeit a bit buried - as is the trend). It does - but in a supportive, non personalized role. I wish I could hear every bass lick in the full mix, but I don't. I have the same trouble with a favourite band of mine, Cattle Decapitation. If you watch any of Olivier Pinard's playthroughs, you can see how many great lines of his are lost in the mix and his "faceless" studio sound. Cheers!! @@morbidalex666 ah okay. I love Olivier's playing. He was actually supposed to be on this album but because he got called in early to record the new Cryptopsy and Cattle he had to take a rain check. Maybe he'll be on my next album.
