As illustrated in this video, 36.5mm is pretty compact even when just compared to other sub-40mm pieces. This makes it an especially wild swing from Citizen's catalog of 90% 42mm+ watches.
Got the watch a couple of days ago. Amazing, got a 16.5cm wrist/6.5" and it DID feel small initially, but after a few hours it just feels lovely! I got the blue version and it's very cool. Had just been wearing a Casio Duro on a Marine Nationale strap as well as a Seestern S434 and the contrast was substantial initially but it is a perfectly formed little watch. Thank you for your review and I am glad your cat isn't worried about anything...Mine isn't either apart from playing with bubble wrap. I may consider swapping the blue strap for a black one sometime for the winter months, although the vibrant blue may cheer me up during cold dark times! Cheers :)
Groovy! So glad you're enjoying it. I bet the blue is a dazzler. Almost tempted to grab that one, too, ha. But so many other watches on the wishlist. Also, who among us can resist the allure of the bubble wrap? Cat or otherwise. :) Thanks for watching and all the best!

Absolutely. I think dive purists have to be pretty happy with this one, since it's got the specs and isn't so diminutive that it couldn't be as useful in the water. And more options is always a good thing for sizing, agreed. Thanks for watching!

My favorite watch since got it over half a year ago is the seiko solardiver 38mm, got the one on the rubber strap and had it on elastic, leather, silicon and pretty much everything of what I have besides the rubber it came on, that is junk. Same functionality as this watch but with 120 clicks, mine done +1s/month so far, it has more of a rolex look, though still seiko with how you want to see the one you are buying for beezle alignment. Like my promaster mechanical a lot too, but often end up with the seiko as never need setting as well as sapphire glass ease my mind
Great review, you have a relaxing style, both informative & amusing. And we see eye to eye on date windows. This is a great watch. Been waiting for the smaller Casio Duro but it dropped and they totally fudged it up. This is another classic watch they needed to shrink and they got it just right 👍
Much obliged for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the vid! I saw that new Duro and thought the same thing; the WR drop is a definite misstep on that one. Hopefully, Casio goes back to the drawing board there. I saw some neo-vintage Casio divers with smaller dimensions recently, so I know they can get it right.

Hello, It's really great video and guide to get one of these watches. I saw it on the Citizen Store and love it. My only concern is that it has got a mineral crystal glass. So, Can you please say your experiences that does it get scratch easily?? Thanks
I haven't experienced any scratches yet. But I'm not the hardest on my watches. Tend to switch them a lot day-to-day and don't do a lot of strenuous, abrasive work with them. I think mineral gets a bad wrap, when it's still pretty hardy for regular use. If you want something with sapphire that's similar, you might check out the Seiko SNE573, which another commenter praised (and which I recently picked up, too); that's a solid piece, as well. Hope you enjoy whatever you get and thanks for watching!
Mineral crystal van take way more beating than a sapphire. I’d rather have a few scratches than a broken sapphire glass. Lots of divers use mineral crystal for that exact reason
That's fair. I tend to prefer sapphire, just because the closest I get to diving is going in the pool, ha. But I agree that there are merits for both, and mineral makes a lot of sense in the right context.
I use tempered glass screen protectors on all of my mineral glass pieces. For this one I ordered Zshion 26mm Screen Protector off amazon.. 3pack for 9 bucks gives me peace of mind.. Cheers!

Perfect for slender-wristed folks!
Most def! Thanks for peepin' the vid!
@@smolwatch I have that watch, got it just a few days ago and it is a great grab-n-go little watch! ISO-certified, Eco-Drive, quartz accuracy, spot-on alignment with each marker, and overall nice fit and finishes. I have the black and blue dial big brothers too.
For me 🎉 🤟🤩
Dope. Enjoy if you decide to snag and thanks for watching!
No sapphire glass is the down side 😂
Yeah, I'd have preferred sapphire, too, but with more toolish watches on the affordable end of the spectrum, it doesn't bother me. If it ends up scratching a smidge, no worries; the mineral is pretty hardy, anyway. Thanks for watching!
4:36 uuu electricity ^^
Gotta throw in that razzle-dazzle, ha. Thanks for watching!
😊🎉
Thanks for watching! :)
Why do i think seldon while listening to you.
Ha, I don't know, but thanks for watching, dawg. :)
37mm? Is it for women or children?
I think it's for whoever wants to wear it. Unless one's wrist is the size of a tree trunk or a car axle, this sizing would likely suit a person just fine. Luckily, Citizen does, indeed, make a much larger version of this exact watch if that's desirable. Have a rad one out there, vlad.
@@smolwatch my wrist is 8 inches plus and watches under 40mm look funny. My size is 40-46mm
Fair enough, for sure. I bet you'd rock the regular sized version of the Promaster. Definitely some advantages to having a larger wrist, too. Cheers!
@@smolwatch yes, I do have one with a bracelet. And a funny part its price was a little less than with a resin strap
Don't know why they bother making a 37mm version. Even for women, the larger version looks much better.
Eye of the beholder and all that, dawg. Looking at the comments (and beyond), it seems there are people keen for it. Luckily for us all, it's not an either/or prospect. Thanks for watching.
No, the larger version looks really funny on my wrist (women 16cm).
Too amall.
I can imagine it might not be the perf piece if you have a large wrist. Glad they're still making the bigger references, too.
A woman size watch, no thanks
Lucky for you, the market is stuffed to the gills with gargantuan dive watches, so you've got pick of the litter, home slice. Cheers.
Exactly. Too girlie for my taste.
Hey man. New sub. Love the idea of this channel. Lots of us love small watches. Do you have an email I could contact you at regarding a possible future collab?
Hey dude, glad you're enjoying! My email should be in the description of all the videos: smolwatch@gmail.com
