I just got a 1997 5.2 I wish we live close u do some dope shit to your jeep n your lady u got skills n I would like to do some of the dope things on mine god bless keep banging out great vids
The new intake looks great! I did see one problem that you will need to tackle next. Your fuel gauge seems to be stuck in the Full position. I have never met a ZJ with a full tank of gas! 😂
Great video as always, I'm looking for my next ZJ now, so if It happens to be a V8 I just might have to do some mods, other than lift, shocks and tires..
Hey barricade I'm loving the videos just found out about you in the past few days and how that happened I do not know cuz I really like it....but I just got a 91 Jeep Cherokee and I want to put something like this on it is that possible for the for the four litre....
Good day sir! I was just wondering I have followed your lead on the Holley Throttle body. I could use a little adjustment as my high idle seems to stumble like a closed choke. It's not terrible but it doesn't start up strong it just kinda goes right to an idle when cold. Any suggestions on how to adjust the plate with the provided adjustment screw? Thanks1
In some purches I got a huges throttle body . Put it on my 2000RT It ran horrible. Put back on the shelf and one day I held it up to the light and I seen light all around the butterflys back on the shelf it went . One day I picked it up again. And realised it was adjusted . Backed the screw down and it looked better. It was getting to much air at idle. So one goes the m1 that huges .
What serpentine belt are you running on there? I can see that it's not turning the AC pump and I've read that you can't get a shorter belt and have all the pulleys still turning the right direction, but clearly something is different here.
First of all, I'm loving your channel. I've done more on my Jeep in the last week than I have ever done on all my cars in the last 20 years. Thanks for that. I live at about 7,000 ft and the jeep seems a bit underpowered on the highway when on an incline. My daily driver has a turbo, so I don't notice any power issues with that vehicles. I have put a throttle body spacer on, which seems to have helped mileage a bit and initial throttle response, but I don't notice any help while climbing 5% grades. Any suggestions to help me get the power I should have at this altitude? Any sort of Tune that can be done? Do I need headers and an exhaust? Is it crazy to ask if there's any sort of turbo kit I could add on? I'm not looking for crazy power increase, just getting it back to where it would be at sea level. Thanks
BARRICADE GARAGE I do have the 5.2L. I don’t know why I didn’t do plugs earlier. I haven’t taken it out yet, but it seems to run way better with just plugs. Fingers crossed that’s all it needs.
I have similar issues at 9,400' elevation. My first change was to use 91 octane fuel exclusively. I also turn the OD off on most any incline, except when I have good momentum on the expressway. I watched this to see if there was an increase in the intake air volume, which is what the engine is wanting at high elevation. It seems to be the most straight forward solution. A supercharger option would be preferred over a turbo, as there is a much lower threshold, but such is life in the thin air.
Can anyone get me a part number for the cable at 2:38? Mine is broken and since my truck is 318 swapped and I didn't do the swap, I don't know anything about the parts used. Thanks.
Hughes engines offers a 1050 cfm throttle body that bolts right up and I noticed a gain with my 5.9. Itll work on a 5.2 too, idk if it really flows that much or if its 52 or 54 mm but I definitely seen a gain. And it was only about 180
@@BLKDAK74 just mentioning it tho because of the high flow potential to the cost. I dont know if you seen the same one either but i bought it, and its bored out cause they did a shit job. Its only 1007cfm too but bigger bores dont always mean bigger cfm even if they say. But at least they made a quality piece. Im not trying to stick up for hughes or endorse them at all just the cost benefit. Which i dont think was all that worth it.
I recently took my 52mm tb off and put my stock tb back on. I feel like I actually lost power and mileage with the bigger TB. Getting rid of the restrictive stock airhat was good thing though.. I lost about 1-2 mpg with the 52mm. I'm gonna put the stock aibox back in next and see if that gains more mpg for road trips..
transam8607 It wasn't obvious if I did gain power. It just didn't seem worth the money at all. I could try it again with stock plugs as I was using colder plugs that didn't seem to add anything good either.
I think the only way to get gains from a tb would be if you upgraded heads and or headers and upgraded intake manifold and you would then need a tune. Lot of $$$$ . I hear it's worth it.
Just put this on my 98 Dodge Ram 5.2 any reason why it would make 1st to 2nd gear shift funny? Had trans redone last year it can’t be that. I’m guessing the spring is tight because it’s new made my gas pedal tight. Any answers to my question? I’m a chef learning mechanics lol
Awesome video man. I know I'm late, but have you noticed an improvement in power, mpg, throttle response ? I just got a 96 ZJ and am looking forward to building it lol I get that twinkle in my eye when I look at it. Thank you and I apologize if you've already answered this in advance.
It has more passing power on the highway if that makes sense but I didnt gain anything on the low end linke accelerating from a stop. The fuel injectors is still one of the best investments ive made in my Jeep. That gave me instant throttle response with a smoother idle
Put on on my 5.2 Dakota and am not impressed with it at all thankfully mine was a junk yard find and didn't cost anything if I would have spent 500 bucks on it i would be one disgruntled fella lol
I ordered mine through Ebay but its pretty much the same price with every vendor... www.ebay.com/itm/Holley-Throttle-Body-Twin-52mm-Fits-Dodge-Dakota-Ram-1500-2500-5-2L-5-9L-EA-/333173755312
The throttle body barely made a difference on the low end after new injectors but I definitely have more passing power on the hwy. Not worth the $500 I paid for it (performance wise) but its nice and I like
That seems like a lot of annoying little modifications to get it to fit. I guess it depends on how much of an improvement it is to know if they are worth it. Great job as always!
@@darrianbenjamin7292 yes it was worth it. And this intake system fits the new throttle body like a glove without any modifications... ua-cam.com/video/aCBElQOezg0/v-deo.html

Yup. You send your TB in and they bore it out to 52mm and send it back. Theres also different companies that make them like Fastman, Hughes etc, but since Holley made the OEM throttle bodies I wanted to go with their Performance Version.
I got a 52mm from flyin Ryan for $150. Not as pretty, but no modifications required. Wish I had port matched my spacer and kegger opening before putting it all back together.
@@barricadegarage5361 yes I have Thorley headers, 3" exhaust with Magnaflow cats, Flowmaster muffler, MSD ignition coil, e-fan, 180 thermostat, cold air intake modded to work with Spectre 98499 air hat. Definitely you need to toss that air hat you got now. So restrictive.
P.s. this video is shockingly well done. I honestly didn't know it was possible to get camera angles of all the things you need to do. you might have messed up the adjustment on your Throttle valve cable on accident.
How much horsepower gain from this than stock
Where can I buy the throttle Body?
Did you notice any improvements to performance or fuel economy with this throttle body?
No improvements in fuel efficiency but the Jeep pics up speed faster on the mid to high end for hwy driving and passing power. Big difference there
You need to split thst airhat, & add an inch to the size
"Bruh!"
Did you need a tune afterwards to start it up? Or did it run normally?
Ecm should relearn
