I figured theres 100 videos of people reacting to the live reveal so I'd upload my theorycrafting session going through the videos with a fine comb.
I figured Instread of watching the 5th person you're subbed to watch the same 1.5hr trailer I'd show the deeper analysis instead. If quality is low wait a minute

I think they said there are no masteries currently on passive tree. I think the discrepancy in color/highlight is simply because those are in a 'wheel' area rather than a linear endpoint notable. Agreed it is weird to have a difference with no actual meaning behind it
I actually watched that part earlier on the twitch VoD of your last night's stream, which I'm not always able to do (sadly) with your regular streams because you often play copyrighted music, which prompts Twitch to disable the audio for entire sections.
These videos where you discuss game mechanics and build theory-crafting are a big deal for intermediate players like me and are much appreciated. We need more of them to be honest.
1:17:20 Energy Shield will take damage before MoM either way, unless you can somehow get full corrupted soul or phys/ele taken as chaos. Mind Over Matter only applies to damage that hits your Life, not ES, so the order would be Darkness>ES>Mana>Life. If you want to protect Darkness, you probably need 0 max ES.
If you get EB, damage will attempt to hit your life, be shifted by MoM, hit your eldrich battery, and then be shifted to Darkness. The end result is the same, so it would probably be a waste of a keystone unless you're using it for a super mana-hungry build to double your leech with the Consuming Questions node.
Edit: Agnostic would probably be absolutely sick if it exists, no? Delete your ES to protect Darkness, refill your life if it manages to get touched, insta leech back your mana pool while it acts as an extension of life.
In some footage I cant remember Jonathan threw out that Chaos damage does increased damage to energy shield ... meaning it doesnt bypass it completely anymore so even "taken as chaos" would not really bypass it.
I think I have already decided I wanna do Gemling Legionnaire, and I think the node after the highest attribute can satisfy any gem requirements is going to be elemental penetration based on stats, So "Every x# of strength = % of Fire penetration" type stat and then same for cold and lightning. It would match up well with the ascendancy node next to it giving max res based off of gems, with a point leading to it regarding gems. It just makes sense to me, but obviously that is a theory and based off of my thoughts.
Yeah, the followup node would definitely be something that makes use of the single attribute scaling opportunity given.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you want to have as little ES as possible in a Chayula Monk MoM build (assuming you're going for the dmg as extra chaos node) since ES will take dmg before your mana thereby reserving your darkness?

On critical strike damage / bonus damage at 20:00 -
When a hit is a critical strike it deals bonus damage, referred to as critical damage bonus. The critical damage bonus system replaces the critical damage multiplier system going from Path of Exile 1 to Path of Exile 2. The base critical damage bonus is 100%, therefore a hit that is a critical strike will effectively deal 200% of base damage by default. Modifiers to critical damage bonus can directly improve the bonus damage of a critical strike. There are two types of scaling modifiers for critical damage bonus; Firstly the more common multipliers which scale the base critical damage bonus, and secondly the rarer additions which directly add to the base critical damage bonus prior to any multipliers being applied.

I assume that he said "life recovery" for the demon form, because we assumed the "take increasing damage" wrong. Stacking life recovery is indeed the way, if the form actually gives you increasing degen, which fits the description. And I assume its not capped, since they probably dont want us using the form as a "default" state of the witch in the spec, but a nuke button, which still sounds fun, it just depends on how quickly we can reset the stacks and cast it again

I wouldn't hold much weight into his specific wording at that point, otherwise it would imply things like being unable to use demon form with CI, which is a stretch already
@@Casevil669 why? Degens usually start with ES unless its chaos, so theres no reason this wont work with CI. Just come up with a way to sustain the drain on the ES.
@@AdskyDimon degens like rf explicitly end when your character is at 1 life. With ci you are always at 1 life. See the problem?

Also as stated, we dont run rf on CI builds, so maybe demonform witches will have to live without CI as well.
The things in the centre that you are calling masteries are notables. For example, the +1 endurance charge notable is in the centre section of its wheel.
Not sure if it was pointed out already, but for the Shadow Monk "Embrace the Darkness" doesn't seem to be mandatory. It's a screenshot fail.
The follow up Node to Embrace the Darkness is "Grasp of the Void" and when they show this one it's the 2nd Node allocated on the lower side. So it's fair to assume "Embrace the Darkness" is the first one downards.

EB/MOM works perfectly fine with Mana/ES stacking. + You keep your Spirit (Auras).
its mandatory for grasp of void which looked like a big damage boost, but ya, embrace of darkness just might be to annoying to build around. Interested in seeing what the other ascendency points are.

Or quality I think. But I think based on the pinnacle boss "Ascendancy" tree we get that he will likely drop awakened supports. One of the nodes shows a trio of gems, may be a drop rate increase for awakened.
I wonder how MoM will interact, if at all, with pyromantic pact. Would probably be broken if it could remove the buildup on taking damage, but who knows.

I think the best build for boss dps and clear will probably some sort of projectile stacking cluster bomb merc, either running gemling for the Max rez or witch hunter for the destructive strike, anti boss stagger buff or the explodey.
There was a few clips of cluster bomb merc being showcased and we see 4 clusters do like 30% of the bosses hp. I imagine if u ran conc support that shit would be able to mega shotgun bosses with a massive number multiplier
Another interesting idea for a mega degen build is some sort of shotgun merc with projectiles reflect/fork off terrain. Then u run some sort of skill that makes a wall (that ur shotgun doesn't destroy) and u blast the boss with every single pellet and every reflect/forked pellet. For clear ud run around like those lightning shotgun merc clips and rely on witch hunter explode for packs (not to mention u are shootimg a shotgun too)
Perhaps u run a stagger skill to speedrun boss stagger then in the 3 second staggered window u place a wall behind them, walk into their face and blast away

If you use your arrow keys while the video is paused, you can go forward and back by a single frame.
arrow keys is 5 seconds at a time < and > are single frame
Try using , and , to advance or go back single frames, spam it for precise rewinds.

I think the "Mastery" nodes are the weapon swap / specialization nodes
Those things that look like masteries wouldn't work like masteries though... if they were, there'd be a notable selected that enables the mastery selection. They're just fancier notables IMO.
I'm curious if essences can be used on waystones(maps) as they're no longer specific mods but mod tag rolls.
Just started the video, but theyve stated that int no longer provides any bonus to ES
The dark monk looks pretty freaking cool, however doesn't it fall down on it's face because you don't have spirit, therefore no auras?
Maybe you can reserve darkness by default or there is a ascendency node for it + I wonder if bonus spirit gained through campaign is added to base darkness

Kinda depends on what the second offshoot node from the darkness convert does. It's definitely something you would have to build around as from what was said in the video on "optional pickups" it sounds like we're now getting 180 spirit baseline (30 per act), and it looked like trigger skills were reduced from 100 to 60 reserved with persistent buff skills like heralds still at 30. That's a lot of reservation skills to give up for 600 temp life on a 10s cd and 30% added chaos if you haven't had your darkness knocked off. 30 spirit Herald of Ash gives you 15% added fire leaving 150 spirit for all kinds of other things. Looked like each class tab might have 9-ish spirit skill options, though they only showed us witch/sorc when talking about it. Final count of reservation skill options when all classes are released is probably in the 50-90 skills range.
@@SapereAude625 nope, it "removes all spirit" and gives you darkness, which is not the resource that skills reserve. reserving the darkness would have negative synergy with the rest of the related nodes so very unlikely the other connected node is for that.
We lose 10% resist every act boss. (-60%)
So we don't kill a boss and then go into next zone taking double damage, lel.

They already said they’re going to rework it and add it before release, just not ready for the start of early access
