Once you go minion you can never truly go back to anything else. At least once a while, when you want to smash your keyboard, you pick something else 😅
What they did say about demon form though is that makes you "take increasing amounts of damage" and "have increasing amounts of cast speed and damage". So it seems like it's a cooldown type of skill that you can only have on for as long as you can sustain it's self-damaging element. I think it will be great for bosses and tankier rares but it doesn't seem like something you can do/be all the time, just a cooldown.
Did you see the interview today? They forgot to mention in the main release video that in blood tree when you pickup health orbs you can actually stack up to 2x your maximum health by picking up orbs, which is huge in deciding to go blood mage or not.

A class is just specific bonuses and specific weaknesses as a starting point, the skill gems might be geared towards a particular one, but nobody is locked out of using them as long as you have the required stat points and appropriate weapon. A monk can walk around with a skeletal army if they wish. A ranger could use bone skills with an appropriate set up. Some of those will work better than others probably, and over time people may find ways to make the ones that don't work as well work better, but nothing is "this class's skill" technically, so I'd say it's not great to go with that mindset. Certain classes just get a statistical advantage in some way and perhaps see certain gems earlier to facilitate their normal play style.
The witch gameplay has gotten me so hyped! Gonna be so difficult to choose which ascendancy to go for first. The 6th of December can't come soon enough! Thank you for making this video.
I'm incredibly excited to play Poe2 , this is everything I wanted and more. The art/art style , graphics, spell effects, ost , monster/boss design, changes to the systems, skill gems out of gear, in game wiki, better explanations and more , it looks amazing The bosses in poe2 are so well done, souls like with good hitboxes, mechanics. I love that you can dodge and the bosses in maps don't just melt I bought the EA pack for Poe1 in 2012 after 4500h , here we go again in Poe2
It feels like the infernal version of witch might be the "main minion build" in the way of using minions for sustained damage, and using demon form which seems to get rid of your minions for explosive burst windows. It kinda seems counter intuitive for a "minion" build, and it feels like the blood one might be better for minions.
Ok so with Sceptre obvious main hand but I thought I saw a new Unique shield that can give everyone in your presence your block which might include minions? Might be very tanky for you and your minions. I'm not a PoE player but learning as much as I can to dive into PoE 2. I can't wait! Love summoner builds.
I am going to start minion on my first build. I have a feeling i will likely specialize some skills for bosses vs clearing, so likely switching weapon which i assume swaps out my skills in my hotbar and weapon skill points on tree and have one weapon i use for clearing and one for bosses. I don't know yet but i got a feeling this is way i will go.
Will you go minion build day 1 and provide us with updates regarding the passive tree and skills too choose ect.? I would really like to start with this build or the Merc but if your doing this I will probally stick with the Witch. You also provided us with allot of good minion stuff in Diablo 4 so it would be amazing :D
I really love the idea of playing a minion based build, but also not being a useless support character, yes, please let me cast fireball and summon minions
oh wow Loyal Hellhound is like that one ability in vanilla WoW that warlocks have in Demonology tree, makes your demon take a large part of the damage you would take Very cool, warlock builds possible in PoE2
Great video. So many questions so little time. So you cant dual wield scepters, but you can dual wield wands? And you can have a scepter/wand combo. Do totem stats roll on scepters since they are also spirit based or are totems considered allies?
I was scared because I thought both ascendancies were not minions. I was about to do some weird build of mercenary gemling specced into minions because I thought it might be better than the 2 witch asc for minions. But hearing infernal is the main minion tree has me 100% doing that instead of whatever I fever dreamed with mercenary. I just hope it still allows freedom of build and doesn’t somehow encourage you to be fire only. Like I want to have a mostly minion setup with maybe a spell or 2 to support them. I can’t wait for this to come out so I can start building.
Gem Merc will likely actually end up being one of the stronger minion builds if it gives Gem Ranks as minions scale incredibly hard with gems. We'll have to see how it plays out though. There will definitely be many types of minion builds using many different ascendancies.
And here I am, first thing I thought of is a Strength Stacker Slam Blood Mage. I thought you might be a d4 creator as soon as you started talking about, "Witch Skills".
I don't like this class Ascendency but will play mercenary because of crossbow + Ascendency monster explode on kill is so huge, but i think i will take a minion gems if possible early on so i can have minion to tank monster for me.
Was gutted when they said that the main minion build will be infernalist. Fingers crossed I can play a viable fast demon build that is just casting spells for dmg.
So, what is your opinion on the "bind spectre" skill gem? They say we are going to be able to summon any rare enemy as a minion but how strong is it? Did you see it play out?
Unfortunately it wasn't in this build but I did talk to the devs about it. From what I heard from them it sounds like there's definitely going to be some wildly broken stuff with it. The vibes I got were on average raise spectre is weak but with the right mobs its op
What’s the status of the non-necro minions? The db says there’s a wolf, but tons of minions missing from poe1. No golems, BAMA, dom blow/absolution/HoP, or animate weapons yet.

Probably infernalist, but I wont know for sure without being able to read the full ascendancies. I'm definitely going to be focused on minions at the launch

Raise spectre is now Bind spectre. Imagine it like pokemon, you bind a mob (i assume you target their corpse) and then you can summon that mob spectre as if it was a unique gem. I believe its no longer a one-and-done deal. I think you can resummon it, but if you want a new different spectre you'll have to get a fresh bind spectre gem and grab em

Hey I was wondering if someone could give me a clue, I haven't played POE before and I'm super excited to start playing POE2 and learn everything. I just wanted an idea of how builds can function comparatively to like D3, 4 etc (build complexity), like will it be as involved as trying to curse an enemy, raise some minions, then cast a buff, sacrifice those minions for another buff, activate something else that triggers off of the curse/infection, then cast my main skill etc. and then if that process gets interrupted I'm gonna do no damage then have to start over again etc. Or is my build gonna be more specialized than that and I'll never have to do all that and I'm just focusing on doing 1 or 2 of those things? Because I like that POE2 looks more complex and I want to learn, I just don't want to be annoyed with a process like that (kinda like actual end game D4 minions, you know I'm tired of consuming corpses), but neither do I want it D4 simple.
It very build dependent but i think the goal is to create more combo focused builds. The idea it that against white mobs you run them over super fast and dont need to do full combos, but against bosses you do your full ramp. Builds are def more complex, and i think the play style of the builds is also more complex but the complexity is very rewarding. In d4 you have to push so many buttons just for your build to work but in this game your build is already good but each additional button you press makes it stronger
is it possible to ascend into a Demon and cross build into a sorcerer and start using sorcerer spells while being enhanced in demon form? that sounds very powerful lol
Do you know if you retain your summons after swapping out from a sceptre to another weapon? Say if i wanna summon a skeleton sniper for gas cloud as a mercenary. Like how certain builds in POE1 has golems or animate guardian.
I beat you to making recent Witch Content, making me the greatest minion content creator ever. Kidding of course, love what you're doing Ruse and glad to see a friendly familiar face also making PoE 2 content :D. Looking forward to trading notes with you when Early Access goes live. Do Scepter damage bonuses stack? Cuz if they do, running 6 witches in a group could be silly. Our minions would be running around with 120% more damage and possibly benefiting from 6x flat damage buffs from Bone Storm. I'm guessing they've thought of this and are going to prevent stacking Bonestorm debuffs.
@@Goblin-Inc Lets say Bonestorm is worth a [x]30% damage increase (stacking additively with other bonestorms) and a 30% "increased damage" scepter is in practice a 10% damage modifier as it's additive damage. 1 witch Self buffing their minions = 1.3 x 1.1 = 143% damage Now lets look at a party of SIX witches 6 witches = 2.8 x 1.6 = 448% damage In practice, each witch would gain 313% actual damage increase (448/143). This means each witch is worth 3 witches of damage and there's 6 of them. It'd be like having a party of 18 witches (6 x 3). Obviously I'm pulling numbers out of thin air, but if it does stack, it has potential to kinda break the game.
Both Ascendancies look really cool but the things that look cool (to me) about them have nothing to do with minions. Could I viably play as a non summoning demon witch or blood witch? Or would that just be equivalent to chopping off one of my hands?
Yes it is but the ascendicies don't seem to support it a ton. It sounded like the 3rd Witch ascendancy that's coming later is more focused on chaos dot
I am a bit concerned about the lack of a minion ascendency, in that we won't get a nice power boost like other builds. in the interview today they said they don't plan on making a minion specific ascendency, they don't want people playing minion builds to only have 1 ascendency they must choose from, what i am hoping then is that there are powerful utility and maybe a couple minion based nodes in each of the 3 ascendancies to still give you a nice boost in power with, then the 3 tree's you just have to choose from 3 different utilities depending on which way you go, like going demon form and picking up health orbs and nuking with your minions, or going bone and buffing your minions or something.. i don't know what ascendency tree's look like yet but hoping they work with minion builds. I kind of want to go pure minion, but i feel like game pushes you to DPS with your minions which i hope feels good and doesn't feel like i am going to struggle to build up my own stats for DPS plus my minions. I am wondering if i can cast purely buffs and debuffs and let my minions do all the DPS.
D4 will still have an audience. I think poe2 will actually have a much wider appeal and will pull in a different audience. D4 will definitely lose some players but I don't think it'll be a huge number
PoE2 = Vampire Survivors.. The speed movement makes me cringe to no end.. Oh well, can't wait to try it.. but not sure I'll pay 30 USD for an early access on a F2P game.
This is the worst take I have ever seen, they are showing early game footage with slow movement speed for recording purposes. The amount of content in this game is absolutely insane for F2P.
@@tf259 leveling is slow, way worse than poe1 as its a different game with new rules. while its doable to f2p the game, quality of life means you need to buy tabs which makes the game, more costly. f2p with poe just means free check out then you buy a lot of mtx then you play it for 12 years, well I did
its a shame cause this was the only class i cared about and only reason i was gonna play and then found out we cant switch from a female to a male smh... so hard pass for this game but it does seem way better then PoE1 cause that game was garbage..

@@Goblin-Inc Sick! The technology is finally there haha
So can you be in Demon form and also have minions summoned?
yes
Is poison chaos damage?
Yes
Ginormous
Lol, how deep can the dive be when more than half is just speculation?
Both Ascendancies look really cool but the things that look cool (to me) about them have nothing to do with minions. Could I viably play as a non summoning demon witch or blood witch? Or would that just be equivalent to chopping off one of my hands?
No Golem? :(
bro poe2 is doing a hostile takeover of d4. did they really fly out a bunch of d4 content creators out to LA to convince you to switch? :)
Yes LOL
U skipped the best minion gem :spectre
Wasnt in the build we played, will be in at launch though
Bro you didn't show SRS?
It's reworked into a reserve skill in poe2, and I didn't show reserve skills. It Summons a raging spirit on fire spell cast
@Goblin-Inc all spirit skills are reserve skills bro make a follow up
Hi, is Chaos Magic still a thing with Witch? Because her Special Classes looking like Focus on Fire and Life Leech
Yes it is but the ascendicies don't seem to support it a ton. It sounded like the 3rd Witch ascendancy that's coming later is more focused on chaos dot
and spectres?
Not in the build we played but will be added at launch
Can you choose a male witch?
No, in PoE the genders are fixed like in old school action rpg games
I want to play with alot of cute animals UwU and explode my enemies

D4 Dead lol
D4 will still have an audience. I think poe2 will actually have a much wider appeal and will pull in a different audience. D4 will definitely lose some players but I don't think it'll be a huge number
D4 is a decent game for casual players. PoE has always been for more hard-core players.
....very boring. All seen before.
PoE2 = Vampire Survivors..
@@tf259 leveling is slow, way worse than poe1 as its a different game with new rules.
while its doable to f2p the game, quality of life means you need to buy tabs which makes the game, more costly.
f2p with poe just means free check out then you buy a lot of mtx
then you play it for 12 years, well I did
omg its ''cringe'' i will die from it 🥱🥱🥱🥱
@@naisu6114 Just like your comment, white knight
@@MrLove-666 🥱🥱🥱
its a shame cause this was the only class i cared about and only reason i was gonna play and then found out we cant switch from a female to a male smh... so hard pass for this game but it does seem way better then PoE1 cause that game was garbage..
Nice ragebait
😂
Was they any news on the Summon Wolf skill? Was wondering if it was going to be in early access ahead of the Druid.
I think the summon wolf won't be added until druid, it wasn't in the build we played
@@Goblin-Inc Thanks mate.
