One thing I fear is that it might be a bit difficult to transport it for long distances, but if one were determined enough I'd imagine it would be possible.
A flaw that I found in the Elder Guardian plan would be that they only give mining fatigue every minute, meaning that theoretically if one were to relog to gain invinciblity frames and drink milk (or possibly even relog more to out wait the fatigue, however this would need some really good and consistant timing) then the trapped person would be able to break the obsidian in time. If the people in your server are especially keen you may have to get multiple guardians in order to have a more constant effect.
erm i think 3 instant damage 2 splash potion is enough.... it is cheaper and it deal same damage to prot 4 and none enchant player but minecart dam use to make trap.
So I wanted to test this before I gave an answer here. It will not work an entire dispenser full of potion of harming 2 potions will kill a player but not with an observer clock. So in essence yes the idea works but you have to slow it down or else it won't kill the player, I had to make a fairly slow clock for it to even work, but it works. (This was tested in Java and not bedrock with prot 2 netherite btw)
Full Protection 4 armor actually reduces almost all incoming damage including Instant Damage 2 Splash Potions by 64% in Java, but in Bedrock, Protection works only agains damage types that can damage Armor's durability.
@poo5630 if you build it correctly you can make it so chous fruit won't teleport players out. Ender pearls could help but if you build the walls thick enough they won't help much.

but arent you able to chorus-proof the trap? also, I think ender pearls will insta-tp you through the portal again, so maybe use dispensers to destroy the portal, and instead of minecarts use wardens (plural)? do you think this could work?
do that but with walls 8 block thick so they cant chorus fruit out or enderpearl, but could they just put water down then swim up to get away from the entity cramming?
Because of how it's setup there's still portal blocks when going to the overworld (or nether) so they wouldn't be able to place blocks or water. A thicker casing of obsidian would definitely help.

In hard mode, in normal you need 6 and easy it's near impossible. If they have any potion buff it won't do the damage needed. This is more consistent with damage and works in any difficulty. But yes the tnt minecarts would work >:)

put an elder guardian near them before and after they get into the portal, so they cant mine out

With an iron farm you can place 1000 minecarts with an elder guardian outside too.

It does damage to the player and armor, that's how it works I believe.

Unfortunately not as bedrock does not have entity cramming which is what this portal trap uses.
4 tnt minecarts and if the player drops on them its Insta kill even with prot 4 :)
