- We're back with They Are Billions in 2024 on a fresh save file! I imagine some of you have never seen or heard of They Are Billions. Hopefully, this gets you into it. It's probably my favourite in the genre.

Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Dragon Age, etc). They Are Billions is a strategy game in a distant future about building and managing human colonies after a zombie apocalypse destroyed almost all of human kind. Now there are only a few thousand humans left alive that must struggle to survive under the threat of the infection. Billions of infected roam around the world in massive swarms seeking the last living human colonies.
Campaign: The New Empire - Available now!
Lead the campaign under the orders of Quintus Crane, ruler of the New Empire, and reconquer the lands devastated by the infected.
48 missions with more than 60 hours of gameplay.
Build fortified colonies to survive in infected territories
Destroy the swarms of infected with the Imperial Army.
Make your colonies evolve with more than 90 available technologies.
Explore the ancient human fortresses with your Hero.
Discover the story behind the apocalypse... how did the pandemic start?
Survival Mode
In this mode, a random world is generated with its own events, weather, geography, and infected population. You must build a successful colony that must survive for a specific period of time against the swarms of infected. It is a fast and ultra addictive game mode. We plan to release a challenge of the week where all players must play the same random map. The best scores will be published in a leaderboard.
Real Time with Pause
This is a real-time strategy game, but don’t get too nervous. You can pause the action to take the best strategic and tactical decisions.
In Pause Mode, you can place structures to build, give orders to your army, or consult all of the game’s information.
This game is all about strategy, not player performance or the player’s skill to memorize and quickly execute dozens of key commands. Pause the game and take all the time you need!
Build your Colony
Build dwellings and acquire food for the colonists. They will come to live and work for the colony.
Collect resources from the environment using various building structures. Upgrade buildings to make them more efficient.
Expand the energy distribution of the colony by placing Tesla Towers and build mills and power plants to feed the energy to your buildings.
Build walls, gates, towers, and structures to watch the surroundings. Don’t let the infected take over the colony!

So a few quality of life stuff
F4 is the map textures button (iirc), it'll make your life so much easier (less pretty because you won't see trees or rocks)
Healthbars are on ALT normally, but if you key-bind it on a keyboard numpad (if you have that) and numlock off as you're holding it down the healthbars show all the time
Either ctrl or shift you can hold down for multiple moving or patrol checkpoints. Just hold down, then click patrol steps one two three and the units will do that dance instead of just going from point A to point B.

I played a campaign back with your campaign videos, and I have started missing it recently too. I decided to start Long War recently instead, but replaying this campaign is probably next for me. I would definitely watch (and start my own replay too) if you were to go back to the campaign.

I'd be happy to see this come back as a series. It's nice to see someone that isn't a 4d chessmaster play this. I'd also love to see a campaign playthrough with the other hero. Realisticaly though, I'm not sure the numbers would support either. Either way I'm along for the ride.
Yes, yes you have inspired me to play again. It's a challenge, because my laptop is from 2015 and the graphics card outdated, so I stick to my XseX instead. But I now need to play this again! I don't think I ever beat it!

I love this game. It's hard but never feels unfair. Funny i was just talking to a mate about it just a few days ago and actually seeing it again does make me want to play again.
Gates are a Defensive weakness. Don't use them to much. Just leave a gap for access then close off behind. ;)

Watched the first series run through and really enjoyed it. There are some map maker campaigns out there that you could try as well. Love the survival game too

I must say that Odd is not bragging by saying he was good in this game. I remember the early release and the full LP being an absolute blast. If someone is looking for some older LPs I would absolutely recommend this one.

Love this game so much! I can't remember which key it is but theres a keyboard shortcut to flatten the map for when you're placing buildings, can also help spotting sneaky gaps in tree lines etc that zombies can creep through

Wow haven't seen this game in forever. I played it to death during early access.
I love this game. Your campaign got me onto your channel (I kept dying too much, defs needed some pointers haha). I still play from time to time, no doubt watching these will make me want to pick it up again now that I've had a few months break! Keen to see more, for sure. Whatever you do, survival, campaign, viewer challenges once you're feeling smooth with it again, I'll watch them all. Not sure if you have seen or played it, but there is a mod called "28 Years Later" that is a whole different campaign. I believe it came out before the official campaign but I could be wrong. It's a bit more story driven through the levels (not just the meetings with Quintus) so there's some reading to do. I haven't played or watched it all the way through, but I've heard good things.
Think about playing campaign again if you in the mood for long summer walkthrough
