    I was having trouble with my snow blower, just pushing the snow instead of throwing it like it used to, It was truly hit and miss, the belt slipped.. So I tried researching many videos and this one taught me what to look for, I checked springs, tension of the belt, to find out that the past tune up, the technician didn't put the belt on properly, so by comparing this video's finished product it taught me how to properly put the belt on, I tested it with a small sidewalk that needed clearing of snow and it worked like new. Now unless the belt slips now I know what to do, I almost wasted my money on another tech that would've charged me an arm and a leg to do what you just taught me. I learned something new today. Thank you so much for you and posting this video. I'm a subscriber now.

    I had mine for 18 years. Still working well although the engine was down a little on power from when it was new.

    Excellent DIY video. Thanks P.S. Little jobs like this in our area cost easily $100 or more plus the cost of parts. They'll say they also "tuned up the engine."

    Great video man....would have been better if you had the money shot! The satisfaction of seeing it running and working. You've deprived us of the finished job working!

    Thank you very much for this info. I am estatic that the internet was made. I am 59 and boy is it helpful. My error was I didn't pay attention how the belt goes on after the spring fell off. Of course I didn't know that the spring was going to fall off!!

    I have the same blower. The electric start stopped working and is no longer available. I can’t pull start it. No visible obstructions but it is hard to turn the auger. Sometimes I can pull it and others it feels like I get it part way and it binds. I have it all opened up--back plate and belt cover. I’m not really sure what to look for. The recoil works......

    Question: I have shredded a couple of belts lately on this snowblower. I ran the new belt with the top cover off so I could see what was happening. The pulley idler is halfway out when running so that the belt is only halfway on the pulley idler. Is it possible that the arm-idler is bent? It looks bent. Should the arm-idler be flat or have a bend in it? Thanks

    • @gxfricke
      @gxfricke  6 років тому

      Jerome Foerster mine did not have a bend in it, so that sounds like the problem. Another thing to check would be the bearings in the idler pulley. If that bearing is bad the pulley would wobble and would also have the belt riding half off.

      Okay. I replaced the bent idler-arm, but there is (what seems like significant play) in the idler-arm once I tighten it up. The bolt is sitting in the square hole correctly, but I just can't get the play out of it. I'm sure its old age. Do you have this situation with your idler arm?

      @jeromefoerster3754 6 років тому +1

      Ok. I just tightened it up, put the spring on, put the belt in place and fired it up. No wiggle and the belt is sitting snug! Thanks for your help.

    I sucked up a bag and now my auger won’t spin. Gonna look at it in morning. Are there no pins? Just a belt

    Does this one has engine oil?
    I have one I can't find engine oil

    • @Martoune112233
      @Martoune112233 2 роки тому

      Snowblowers like these use gasoline mixed with oil. You want to get a small bottle of 2 cycle engine oil, and mix it with gas to acheive a 40 to 1 ratio of gas to oil. On the back label of any 2 cycle engine oil bottle, they have a chart to show you how much gas to mix with the oil to get that ratio. I use a small gas can and label it as "PRE MIX" which means gas mixed with 2 cycle oil. Unlike a car engine or lawnmower, snowblowers like these use the oil in their gas to lubricate the engine. Any gas station should have bottles of the oil.

      @maxnovo625 Рік тому

      This is a 2 stroke. The engine gets its oil from the gas. You need to mix the gas with 2 stroke oil. It's not like most regular 4 stroke engines that the oil is put into the engine separate from the gas
