    Worked like a charm. I think all in I was done within 30 minutes. The Briggs & Stratton hack worked flawlessly and it feels even more secure. Thanks for the guidance.

    Taryl, Great description of the repair but your suggested modification is priceless. For those that need a warp speed fix, take the bulb off a turkey baster, hold it against what's left of the primer plate and give it a push. Same effect.

    I used your basic bulb replacement instructions today. (2/23/22). Worked like a charm. I stuck with Toro aftermarket parts which I ordered off Amazon. It came with 2 complete bulbs white and connector plus a gas line with two spring clips and a replacement gas line filter. The package cost around $10 plus tax. As a UA-camr myself I made sure to a a thumbs up.

    Thank you Taryl. You made a fairly easy job, even easier. I ordered the Briggs & Stratton primer on Amazon, followed your easy install steps, and my snow blower started right up on first try.

    First time viewer at Taryl Fixes All. Came for the info and was initially annoyed by the drama, but I couldn't fast forward for some reason. Appreciate the humor and creativity. It does bring the stress level down a bit when faced with undesirable repairs. Impressed he kept character during the actual repair.

    Thanks fellas. I have no idea what was going on with the start of this video, but the "how to" part was awesome. I may have gone without a snowblower during the recent winter storm, but the thaw gave me a great opportunity to use this fix. Removing the throw chute took some time, but I got it running in just a few pulls.
    I ordered the Briggs & Stratton part from Amazon. Forgot to use the nut, so the primer may wobble off at some point. Thanks again.

    Awesome video! I am an inpatient mechanic, so I was thinking I could have done without the bear in house video. The clear and precise instructions made up for the 2 minutes of my life watching the intro. Job well done. Best overall video I have ever seen. No reason to look at any others!

    Not only did I learn a lot about my snowblower.. I laughed my flipping ass off the whole time. What I love about your video is that after a slow start you got right to the heart of the problem and explained how to perform the fix quickly and efficiently along with variants of how to fix something. Not like a ton of videos on UA-cam where the vlogger talks for 27 minutes and 12 seconds on why he likes to use a Husky flat head screwdriver with his right and how he braces his legs when he turns a screw then goes into an explanation on why he doesn't like master mechanic screwdrivers, etc..... I think you get my point. Anywho.. thanks for the informative video... I'm subscribing

    Just wanted to thank you. My Toro 2400 has sat for three years with this damned primer bulb out. Your video helped me fix it in a couple hours. It has three bolts on the chute I had to use a little nailpuller to get off. And I used an avocado knife to slip the new bulb on!

  • @lucasmcalpin
    @lucasmcalpin 6 років тому

    Fun Video. I watched it once, ordered that better primer bulb, waited on it to get here, and still remembered how to change it out a week later. The video was memorable. So much so that I'll probably remember it the most random, inopportune times. But, nonetheless, it was great, and my snowblower started on the first pull. NOTE TO SELF: Start the snowblower outside the garage next time.

    Thanks! You saved my butt during the snowstorm last week when the bulb broke. FYI in the emergency after the bulb broke, I stuck a syringe down in that little hole in the housing and primed it by engaging the syringe.
    Thanks, JC

    Hey Taryl, I've got a 2016 Toro snowblower. Although my primer is fine, I bought a new primer and base to install with my tune up this fall. Was wondering how long those primers last? This will be the first time the cover has been off the blower and thought every 5 years wouldn't be a bad service schedule for the primer, plug and filter all at once.

    I used this again on 1/19/24. Bulb lasted two years. Luckily I had the spare bulb. 2023 was so mild here on LI that we got no snow. Different story for the start of 2024. So I made sure to make the repair before we get something really heavy.

    I was able to just carefully pry up the primer bulb enough to get a screwdriver in there to compress the tab and pull it about an inch out of the snowblower, then remove the primer bulb and replace. It is tight to get the hose up and thru the body, but it works without taking the machine covers off...try it
