    🥺
    Anyone who says that there is nothing to do in ESO is a bloody liar or a real underachiever. So much to do it makes my head spin sometimes.
    Today, I’m just chilling with some ToT and fishing, with a little survey running on top. My mats stash is low, as is my bank balance.
    Maybe tonight I’ll hit some nSR and nFH to collect some of those sets that still elude me.

      I am working on that right now haha. Probably going to work it into a stream or two this week. Seems to be lots of options that work well but I havent spent enough time to really nail anything down. Just to throw something out there for now for you, Overwhelming Surge seemed decent (only did a few quick bosses in vVate, so not sure on harder things yet). A bit of aoe damage and allows you to spam shock burst quite a lot.

      You are very welcome! I have attempted to put together something a handful of times in the past but either the damage wasnt there or it took a high proficiency to get there, which kind of defeated the intent of the series.
      I did however very recently update all the one bar dps builds on the website and the NB is sitting right at 100k with the set up posted, so really solid for this patch. Throw on a vma 2h sword + Stampede + 1 more dot on the back bar and you have about as good of a Next Level set up as any other probably somewhere around 115k or so (totally guessing there, could definitely be a bit higher or lower). That is roughly what I will be working with here soon'ish at my next attempt at it. Just have to work out a simple static rotation for everyone that isnt too punishing and that one should be g2g.

      When I’m not playing PVP, my wife and sister in law (with lower skill levels than me) like to team up with me for archive or vet dungeon runs. I set all of us up with variations of your builds. We’ve been having a lot of fun 3-manning hard modes running a group comp of tanky damage dealers like you see in a lot of your archive builds. We have been able to mow through vet hard modes that don’t have a specific tank mechanic with this group comp. No healer, just auto self healing from stuff like pale order or leeching plate or some class skills that heal as they output damage. My current favorite setup for myself right now is a Torc Magplar that is just above the equivalent of armor cap when you include the torc 15% damage mitigation and getting additional major protection on front bar for slotting flare. It also has 7k plus spell damage about 50% crit chance with double bows and about 100% crit damage being a Khajiit. I use healing burst with the hot and minor expedition combined with roll dodges to always have epic speed for kiting. I run about 36k health so it’s not a deep archive setup, but it punches way above its weight class to have this much damage mitigation and sustain. Essentially it’s a pvp setup with pve style skills. It’s a beast almost all pve content.

How you have your set up sounds really solid and fun. Awesome work. Thank you Bill! Just keep it at stage 1. I didnt find the stage 3 passive Undeath worth it after the nerf (with my play style) with its increased ability cost. Im sure others will disagree and it worked for them (and I do think it can be valuable on other play styles), but it just wasn't worth it to me. Also evaluate how you are dying if you are interested in using undeath. If you find your self treading water at lower hps and not able to catch back up, it may be useful for you. If your deaths are coming from 1 shots missing heavies and what not, then its going to be minimally impactful.

      Nord is often times ideal in IA for a couple reasons. Three of the many things you need in upper arcs is resist cap, high health, and get into ults quickly (the majority of ults used normally are defensive in nature or have a strong defensive element.) The Nord race has extra resistances for its passives, which helps you hit resist cap easier with your gear, and normally end up with a higher health amount as the protective traits on your jewelry can be healthy as well as them also having additional health as a passive. They also have a passive that generates extra ultimate, which is very useful. I have a mixed bag of races on live servers, I believe two of them are Imperial from pvp builds. I'm constantly build testing and playing things in all sorts of content types in eso, so constantly race changing to match it isnt really the best option.
      On a side note, the person who replied to you is not correct at all if you previously read it before I responded here. I am going to respond to them shortly to clarify.

    • @Dooma
      @Dooma  9 днів тому +5

      Hi there! This is not accurate at all my friend. It may be your personal preference, which is totally cool and I dig it, but it is not how the game is currently balanced. For PvE a High Elf is the best min/maxed race for Magicka based builds due to their higher Magicka passives + Weapon/Spell Damage. Dark Elf is the best class for Stamina based builds due to their higher Stamina passive + Weapon/Spell Damage. When it comes to sustain in those areas, the vast majority of builds, when built and played correctly, do not have sustain issues at all. Not even a little for most of them. Especially after ESO's skill hybridization a few years ago. In the countless players we have helped now between Discord and various places. 100% of sustain issues from players were due to a build oversight/creative freedom made that hurt sustain, or there was a gap in knowledge in combat mechanics. There is a very (very) small portion of PvE builds that actually are difficult to sustain, and most cases of those are the tippy top of the pyramid of the highest end dps builds, normally for high end trials. And even in those cases, the races I mentioned are normally preferred to maximize damage output and a high mastery of combat makes sustain possible.
      Regarding PvP, there are obvious cases where certain races are most ideal for certain builds, but an Imperial is definitely not it across the board for sure. Many properly high end, 2 bar, PvP builds, have a complete absence of sustain issues and can spam for days and an Imperial would end up having a waste of a sustain racial passive. Again, when built and played correctly. To emphasize this further, many PvP players use food like Sugar Skulls for their builds, which has zero resource sustain as part of it.
      Regarding Nords in IA, I responded to them above if you happen to be interested in that at all.
      For what it's worth, when I first started ESO, my first DPS was a Redguard of all things. The people I met who taught me the sweaty stuff early on told me to get off the race asap as learning the game by relying on the racial sustain will ultimately make me worse in the end. It took a while, but I found out later they were 100% correct. You get better at everything combat related when you lean off the sustain crutch and can balance your resources better between gameplay and builds, while having a higher output.
      Not clapping back or anything at all, just trying to share some game knowledge to help out. Hope you have a good weekend. 🙏
      Edit: I cant spell. Even when the red squiggles are in my face.🙃

      @Dooma  8 днів тому +2

      Hi there! I'm working on different set ups for the non-ia content using the set up now. I should have something this week finalized. If you are asking about inside IA, then yes it is good for early arcs without FE as discussed in the video but not in later arcs, like every other set up in the game. FE is what the content is designed around. You can have less and go far, but it's miserable, takes exponentially longer, and not worth it. There isnt anything in the game available to increase damage by 500% and that stacks, like FE and status effect damage. It is what is intended to be used in the content to navigate it efficiently.
      When I hit Arc 8 I was at 3 FE and I believe I got another somewhere between 8-10. It's in the VOD if you wanted to find out exactly where, I don't really remember. It was incredibly stressful with the lag and disconnects and that had all of my attention.

      @Dooma  3 дні тому +2

      I had the same problem for a while. Shock drops from: Daily Delve and Mages Guild quests and PvP Rewards for the Worthy. Make sure you do those dailies on the Sorcerer because the scripts are curated. So you should get what you don't have yet before getting duplicates. Will increase the odds a little for you vs. farming on another class.

  • @beaudawg6799
    @beaudawg6799 4 дні тому +1

    So I farmed out this build, seems to suffer from Sustain... unless I'm missing a key element.

    • @Dooma
      @Dooma  4 дні тому +1

      Hi there! There shouldn't be any sustain issues when played 'correctly.' Correctly in quotes there because there are several variables.
      There is an early arc play style and a late arc play style. For the early arcs I encouraged viewers to use ghastly eye bowls food and the overwhelming surge set. If you are rolling potions and have the build set up as shown, it should be difficult to run out of mag in early arcs. The mag use per second vs. mag gained, especially with siphoning spells and things dying quickly, is totally 1 sided. The only variable there would be single target bosses that take a while to clear. In that case the swapping of spammables shown also reduces the mag cost per global and should make it sustainable. Worst case add heavy attack here or there should solve that.
      Even if you dont use the surge set early, you should still remove the heavy Heartland for something else. If you use a light armor set, you should still be totally fine (even without a light set you should be fine. Originally I was using medium Order's Wrath as the alternate early arc set up).
      For late Arcs I mentioned in the video how you get into this flow of shock burst spam for a bit, then backing off, heal/shielding, reapplying ele sus a bit, then repeat. That plus the necessary ice staff heavy attacks for shielding solves that sustain issue. Individual ability will have a large part to play in this area as you need to feel out just how much you can spam and how much you need to back off a bit. The gameplay VOD in the description is there to help give people some example of how I was navigating all of that.
      I dont know how much xp you have in the IA, but just in case you are newer, If you are trying to compare the sustain of a build in IA to virtually any sort of dps build outside of IA, they arent the same at all. The play style is different, the demand on sustain is different, and there are tons of variables that changes things on a moments notice. Its very different than say a dps build you practice on a dummy with. While all those tactics still apply, its not going to be a 1:1 experience in IA, especially in upper arcs.
      I hope this helps and and thank you for watching!

      @beaudawg6799 3 дні тому +1

      Thanks for the response. I did play as shown... just wondered if maybe at 625 CP I was missing out on something. I tend to suffer from mag issues... but I will revisit the build to see what I'm doing wrong.

    • @Dooma
      @Dooma  3 дні тому +1

      @@beaudawg6799 Gotchya! The only 2 things from CP that will impact sustain is Rejuvenation and Siphoning Spells. But Siphon is only affecting sustain when things are dying, so before that, its play style dependent to manage it. Then from Arc 4, neither of those are slotted at all, so its all play style dependent from there.
      Also, make sure you get 3/3 Medicinal Use from the alchemy passives and more or less always roll your potions. Both of your Major sustain buffs of Intellect and Endurance comes from your potions and with 3/3 Med. Use, you can easily ensure 100% uptime on them.

I'm sure it works great on other builds and maybe even on this one for some people but I didnt find it worth it. Ive been telling people: If you find most of your deaths are from getting 1 shot, its not going to help you much at all in that regard. If you find yourself dying often from treading water at low health and not being able to catch up, then it could be impactful and worth trying out.
