Hi Dooma, 1st big thanks for outlining 'why' and on what criteria/context you consider the build as Immortal ! For the staff - why Precise/Fire as opposed eg Charged/poison, noting that E.Susecptibility is giving some burning already?
Hi David, you are very welcome! Precise is going to net your more overall value with a higher crit rating since this isnt a build really capitalizing on status effects much at all (this is for non-Infinite Archive content and we arent running dual wield for 2x status effect application). It applies to your effective healing as well, increasing your chance to crit heal, which is solid for solo content. If you are doing specifically longer fights, poisoned is probably more ideal (definitely for the trial boss solo shown in the video), but for most running around and various congested content like arenas and what not, you are dealing with a lot of mobs and you arent really spreading ele sus everywhere, just the chunky mobs (if that) and then just light weaving your flails and beams around, which is applying burning to random mobs knocking them out faster. Poisoned has an execute scaling dealing more damage to lower health targets, so targets that are getting burned down somewhat quick, arent getting as much poisoned benefit, but any sort of prolonged fight, poison gets very valuable (pvp is a bit different of an element with that). I would say, if you are specifically concerned with prolonged boss fights, poisoned is probably more ideal (if they have ele sus), otherwise, I really don't think it matters much. It would depend on how much ele sus you lean on (I actually had ele sus off my bars for different things I was clearing while testing it out, and I dont think its really needed for many things someone would do in solo content.). In hindsight, I would definitely have used poison for St. Llothis, honestly I just didnt think about it at all. Good catch there. 💪 I would have mentioned this whole topic in the video had I thought of it, so thank you for that. I am going to pin your comment for others as well who may be reading through the comments.🙏 Edit: One more piece of info, in the video, I mention about removing ele sus for group content. So if you end up preferring poisoned for solo content, just remember to bring flame back for group content if you end up preferring that there as well.
@@Dooma Sorry for the delay in feedback, read it quickly but didnt get the chance to thank you for the detailed reply and I'm still playing around with that build :).
I'm running the build on my Arcanist it does content quite well but with small tweak it does better. Instead of using the skill 'Elemental Susceptibility' use 'Rune of Displacement'. What that skill does is place a RUNE on the ground and after 2 seconds pulls nearly mobs to the RUNE up to 10 meters away then places DOT on them. In turn will allow you to 'Pragmatic Fatecarver' the entire group of mobs you just grouped up. For the rotation you would do the following. Recuperative Treatise > Rune of Displacement > Cephaliarch's Flail > Cephaliarch's Flail > Pragmatic Fatecarver.
Awesome! The reason I dont use something like displacement is because most trash mobs and groups of trash mobs are going to die very quickly. However, for bosses this set up is 4-5k off of penetration cap. So, with Ele Sus, you get just over pen cap, making killing bosses a bit easier. If you struggle with any sort of boss in any content, than that change would be ideal. Otherwise what you have done is a perfect modification for the build. Well done!
For trash mobs it's not really about the dot damage on displacement skill per say. For trash mobs it's all about grouping them up in a single spot. So you can beam the entire group at once and be done in a flash.
Hello 👋 I really enjoy watching your videos. I need to admit that my favorite build so far is a one bar Arcanist as well. The difference is that I use order's wrath and daggers. Runeguard of freedom is another skill I love using for the extra survivability both from skill and passives. I usually add ring of preservation from fighting guild for extra heal, recovery and extra damage. These 2 with flail beam and inspired scholarship are doing the job for me. I also like adding dw ultimate sometimes and it helps a lot when I mess up and that extra heal is doing the job for me Arcanist is the most fun build I ever played with one bar.
Thank you for watching! A few notes: 👉The CMX at the end of the video with St. Llothis shows Kraghs as the helm. I changed the set up after that clear to Slimecraw due to over-pen. 👉If you end up with sustain issues, you can drop the Bastion CP slottable for Bloody Renewal. Alternatively you can use the Serpent Mundus. If you choose to use the Serpent Mundus, use a Light Kraghs helm. It's better in the long run to learn to play it properly rather than lean on over-sustain, however, its also better to extend a fight out a bit longer with a less damage, than die to not being able to press abilities. Do what works best for you. 👉New players, make sure you watch the short section starting at 5:24. It will help you with every build you play. 👉All of you are awesome and thank you for watching.
arc was the first class i was able to get through VH with and have it on farm now to gather arena weapons. I ran mine as mag with Balorg, Orders Wrath and Forest Wraith and with that gear you can easily swap between stam and mag builds.
@@Dooma your builds are way better brother, and you inspired mine that was the only reason I ran mag. still working on your IA arc setup collecting gear.
I run almost this exact build for PVE and easily solo hard mode base game dungeons very quickly. I’ve found there’s a threshold where this is a little too glass cannon (for my skill level) and I struggle with vet DLCs and have only cleared a few with this setup. I use Kra’gh helm in medium + lover mundus to go heavy on pen for bosses, which is the hard part for an arcanist. With passives allocated on the staff, you should crit for 21k during beam when Briarheart has proc’d. Obviously crit happens less often without slimecraw, but I think this is better for what’s hard when solo. if you are playing in PUGs then just swap in SC and the thief mundus since you’ll likely get pen from the group. For extra robustness, you can use strategic reserve and save tide king’s gaze for when you aren’t getting smashed up (or have Isobel tank for you) - this lets you skip an active heal slot on the one bar. Also, you can swap in runic sunder for some extra tankiness in exchange for elemental susceptibility.
Awesome Mike, appreciate you sharing for everyone. One thing you can do for content that is pressing you that I use for the Arc 10+ Solo One Bar Arcanist set up (and PvP) is slot Spiteward of the Lucid Mind. Rather than use crux for beams in tough moments, you can use them for Spiteward. When you use it, you get a shield and a heal. The more crux you use, increases the heal amount and reduces the cost down to 90% cost reduction. This + a second shield out tanks marauders in IA at a moderate Arc level, so overkill for most non-IA content but super solid for pushing though something that you may have a hard time with defensively you are trying to solo.
@@Dooma I will try this! I just got swamped on Vet Banished Cells 2 with all those Daedroth on the final boss, and out-healing with runeguard of freedom is not enough even with Isobel tanking with lots of helpful buffs. If you get behind on beaming because of stuns, you don’t have that beam shield absorbing damage and you get behind the health recovery curve. This is that threshold issue…

@@MegaLovemen Oh gotchya haha. I can do that on stream this week sometime. I would imagine it's somewhere around 70k or so with a couple small group dd changes. But that's 70k of mostly aoe as well, so its perfect for dungeons.
I do wish they'd expand the "resource cost is based on your largest/smallest resource pool" condition to all the Arcanist abilities, and really across more classes so we don't keep getting into situations where there is one good build and a ton of mediocre ones because the devs overwhelmingly favor one resource for each class. It sucks that Stamina is the only viable option, to the point that any Mag Arcanist builds I've seen are still trying to cram the Stam Flail morph in and just getting around any resource issues in various ways because it is just that much better than the only Mag Crux builder alternative. This isn't a criticism of your build, because you're doing great with what ZOS is giving you, but just how disappointed I am in the game "balance" as a whole that every creator seems to be making very similar builds because that's all they can do with what ZOS is doing.
To be fair I see it as quite valuable to have a class where you don't need to think too hard about it: just build like this and it'll work. Of course you're right to, but you can't set out to eliminate the paradox of choice and also cater to variety
I did very early on when IA first came out, before really understanding how it worked at a higher arc level. You can still totally run something like this for early arcs for gear farm (you can run any build really in lower arcs) but as you climb, youll need to adapt to some requirements such as high health, resist cap, more heals, shields, etc., and most importantly, a setup capitalizing on status effect damage. I put this video here out a couple weeks ago that is much more suited for IA and hit Arc 10 solo, also with 1 bar if you interested in a 1 bar arcanist build specifically for IA: ua-cam.com/video/57ucsrm5qvo/v-deo.html&t
@@Dooma thank you. I've been using your one bar sorc in the archive and love it. I still can't make it past arc 3 but I'm sure that's about skill and not the build 😅🤷🏽♀️🤣
Hi there! Weapon/Spell Power pots are typically used when you need access to Major Brutality/Sorcery and Major Savagery/Prophecy. However, Oakensoul gives us all of that. You can just use regular stam potions if you like. But you are going to lose out on the Major Fortitude buff (Increases Health Recovery by 30%) and Major Intellect buff (Increases your Magicka Recovery by 30%) from dropping Tri-pots. Losing Maj. Fort probably isn't much of big deal, but losing the Major Int. may be. You'll have to feel it out if you are struggling to maintain magicka or not (will likely come down to how much you need to use Healing Contingency). If you are both struggling to maintain Magicka AND you cannot get Tri-Pots, then I would just swap Healing Contingency to Resolving Vigor and youll be fine.
It's quite simple really for class passives get everything, Get everything for Destruction Staff, For Armor get all passives for Light and Medium unless you are running all medium gear then forget light passives. Get all passives for the race you are playing as. Get all Mage Guild passives as the one scribing skill will fall under that.

Awesome, I hope you enjoy it! I played a bow version quite a lot as well (I love bow builds in general) and the Major Expedition from dodge rolls with a bow is great for getting through stuff quickly.

You probably want to change Flail to Escalating Runeblades and then replace Ele Sus with an ability of choice (Poison Injection is a bad choice). If you feel you still need Major Breach, then that would be Razer Caltrops or work it in from a scribing ability. Actually, that makes most sense I believe. Use Wield Soul, use a damage source of choice for first script, either lingering or class mastery for second script, and then Major Breach for the 3rd. Youll use it just like ele sus is explained in the video.
What passives would you take for this build? im a new player using this build as a first time runthrough campaign and dont know what passives and things to put my skill points into besides the core abilities.
Hey SpareTurtle! Thief Mundus, Lava Foot food (make sure you are comfortable with the lower hp amount), swap ulti morphs, drop Ele Sus for something like Barbed Trap, Drop Focused Mending CP for Exploiter (if you have a source of off-balanced in the group), otherwise if you parse quickly Deadly Aim isnt bad, if you are still learning, Untamed Aggression is a generic one that will apply to everything for you.
@@Dooma Thank you very much, trying to use my Arcanist dps more like I do my only other good dps, that one being my one bar MagSorc, and haven't really found a build I can use effectively as I'm not a dps at heart.
@@kingkaz12 You are very welcome! I also have a bit higher end 1 bar dps set up on the website that is around 100k dps if that ends up being useful for you as well.
Very briefly just to check stats. I did run through 3-4 ult cycles just to see the ball park of where it was with a few group dd changes (thief mundus, lava foot food, couple cp slottable changes, etc.) and it was hanging somewhere around 70k. But that's a full aoe 70k with 2 buttons so there's much more value in that 70k for things like dungeons where its more trash mob clearing than anything else. Plus almost zero ramp up time. 2-3 globals and you are at 'full' damage. It's fairly strong for how simple it is, especially considering it's using double sets than can be purchased from traders with more or less instant access for players (who already have Oakensoul). Even more so considering you are totally self sustainable for heals and if a healer dies or falls asleep, you aren't going to die outside of mechs and 1 shots. You can get more damage with other set ups (there's a 100k+ dps 1 bar arcanist build on the website) you can get more tanky with other set ups (there's a 2 button build on the site that takes a pve mob army to take you down) but this is right in the middle allowing you to do mostly everything with 1 set up with minimal or even no changes between content if you prefer. (Explained a bit extra so I can refer others to this comment who may have similar questions. 🙏)
Hi there! Bloodthirsty has a phrasing of "Increases your Weapon and Spell damage against enemies..." Specifically for this case "against enemies." This means it increases your damage done against enemies, but does not count towards your self heals (other than things like increasing the damage of direct damage sources affected by the Reaving Blows CP.) Since this is a solo build, outlasting fights is more important than killing them a little bit faster. I hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Can I use this build on PVP? Or i can use Way of Fire instead of Briarheart ? What do you think about it have u tried it? (i know there's another pvp build with sheer venom or relequen / way of fire with bow but dont wanna use a bow )
Hi there! There is one difference, scribing aside, on the bars from the original version. Deadly Cloak -> Elemental Susceptibility. You lose major Evasion from cloak but gain a stronger defensive ability to Vigor with Healing Contingency. You also gain the ability to play from ranged without losing damage, definitely eclipsing the damage mitigation value from Maj. Evasion as a whole. Not to mention flail ensures you can safely dps from ranged for a time vs. the majority of mobs. This one definitely is a bit stronger defensively, generally speaking. There are certainly situations where Maj. Evasion would come in clutch though. However, both versions are performing miles above the ceiling of solo content, so in the hands of the proficient, it really won't matter much and ultimately boils down to personal preference.

Youll use it just like ele sus is explained in the video.
pls do another for pvp!
Gotchyou!

What passives would you take for this build? im a new player using this build as a first time runthrough campaign and dont know what passives and things to put my skill points into besides the core abilities.
Hi there! Check out #4 here: www.thegameroom.tv/build-faq and welcome to ESO!
Hey! What mundus do you use? :D
It is both shown in the video and in the written guide.
You said only a few changes would be needed to make it more of a group dps instead of solo, so what are the changes you'd recommend?
@@Dooma That sounds good to me, what's it called?
What can I change if I don’t have scribing?
Quick question, what staff transmog is that? :)
Hi there! This is the "Galenstone" staff motif.
At 5:00 is that Green Vigor, or supposed to be Echoing Vigor?
Hi there! Green (resolving) because you get your Minor Resolve buff from it, which is what you would lose from not having Healing Contingency.
@@Dooma Sweet - Got ya! Thanks for that. :) I was wondering what you meant by Green - Should have known! Ta.
@@Nobby-Nobbler Haha no worries at all! My fault for not calling it my the correct name. 😅
@@Dooma Morning! Vigor from the Alliance Skill line?
Dıd u test that buıld on dummy?
why infused and not bloodthirsty on oakensoul?

I dont really recommend this build for pvp but way of fire is still a solid choice for a build to get you started.
I dont know man… looks like less immortal tban old version skill set 🤔
@@Dooma but previous version didnt have deadly cloak but this 6seconds shield
