i have found , for me at least, when i turn off the gass valve i cut the tank out. it will turn all connections for that system black (as if it was cut). works for steam pipes too.
Hi thanks for the tip , have just started doing the same, as it seems to "drop" the pipes .did help to remind me in todays recording ,not just to turn off but cut as well (is an episode where I failed to turn of the gas luckily had cleared most of the area before the explosion( was blowing a door off))
