Thanks for the lovely video. I’ve been visiting Soller and the port since 2007, usually 3 or 4 times a year apart from the Covid years of course. I made it back last September and I am booked for late August this year. It’s my favourite place in the whole world and I have made many friends there during my visits. Your film took me right back and I can’t wait for August to come. Thank you. Simon.
Hi Simon, thank you so much for your message! It's fabulous to hear you're a regular in Soller. I have to admit that before starting the channel, I had made very few visits there even though I've lived on the island for years. However, it is now also one of my favourite places to visit now. A great place to get away for a day and I'd also love to spend more time there!
One of the best train rides I’ve ever had, the views are amazing, loved the tunnels to get a break from the heat 😂😂 excellent video once again 👍👍🏴
Sorry Do you mind to tell me If you just travel from Palma or elsewhere to Soller and back the same day ? Because I am planning to go to Palma and goes on this old tram to soller stay overnight or back ,depends if 1 day is enough to explore Soller and I like to go also to Valdemossa
Really lovely visit to Soller and Port De Soller. Absolutely love both places with their lovely wooden train and wooden tram with spectacular views. Oh I would so love to be dining in one of those Port de Soller restaurants watching the sunset or soaking up the afternoon sun ☀️

Wow Alex. I loved this video. Thank you. Also what a lovely sunny day. You are very good giving us so much information. I also like it when you focus in on prices and foods at restaurants. Good to be aware that some shops are closed at 2 and open later. I did some research on the Soller tram which opened in 1913. Then I did a search Mallorca + 1920s and found a wonderful German silent black and white film. Some of your subscribers may like to see it. It shows a very different Palma, an old ship, old cars, very empty mountain roads and even a tram and Port de Soller. Life was so different then. The film is called A Pearl of the Mediterranean or Eine Perle des Mittelmeers. 🧡
Hey Cathy! Thanks so much! Yes, it's easy to gloss over how nice everything is, but I think everyone wants to know how much things cost too!! It's not a cheap summer this year! Oh, if the video is on UA-cam, please post it on the Facebook Group, that would be brilliant!!! Otherwise I'll try and check it out later!!! Have a lovely Sunday! x
Great video of a lovely place. We now watch on the big tv, which does not allow comments. But, I am still here! Soller is a lovely place and have now been there twice in the last 5 years. Furnalutz (forgive my spelling) is a lovely place to visit if staying in the area and is walkable. But, only one way!! Really enjoy your posts, and Andrew's, and you guys are on my bucket list, along with that crazy Eddie Hastings in Los Gigantes (Andrew's mate) !!
Haha, hi Stephen, thank you so much for watching and then making the effort to comment too. It's much appreciated. I've been working my way through my comments and want to answer each one personally, so thanks for your patience. I got there in the end!
Lovely Alex, this time next week we will be there! Staying in Soller, the port and Palma. Hope we get a chance to meet you for a lunch treat from us 🥂😎
That sounds like a great itinerary! And yes, I'll definitley be around, especially Palma way. I have a video I need to make in the city, so let me know what day you'll be around! Would be great to say hi finally!
When we visited the Sóller town this year, we have found the wooden train very interesting and colourful.. One day is enough to explore this small beautiful town
Ah, Soller ❤ The town is one of my favourite places to stay. We stay at a place only a 10-minute walk from the town centre and I'm always surprised by how quiet it is. There's a lovely restaurant along the commercial centre...and a decent G&T in the Port 😉

I love them both. It's strange to watch this because I was sure we walked between them regularly that you're casting doubt on that now. Did we catch the bus? Strange how fragile human memory can be. One of my favourite days out was the coach and boat rides to the beach at the other end of Sa Calobra. Terrifying but worth it. I made the mistake of sitting in the empty seat the front right of the bus. It was only when I was looking down over a straight drop that I realised WHY it was empty! I'm amazed there aren't more accidents there but the drivers seem to know what they are doing.
Hi, I’m loving your content. Thanks for making 😊 The current covid restrictions are in place until 15th June when travelling from UK. Do you know when the updates are normally announced?
I'm hoping we will hear on the 15th, and I think they will be hard pressed ot keep them in place! I'll definitely update here if I hear anything. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun yeh the isle of man is lovely. The trams are pulled by horses along the harbour and there is an electric one that goes up the mountain this one is very like the one in your picture in majorca
Hi, I have a question about taking the train to Mallorca from Soller. Is the ticket from the official website the same? All tickets say Palma-Soller byt, not Soller -Palma. Thank you
Do you buy the tram ticket from Soller to the port on board? I'm going to Soller end of September in a rental car but want to take the tram to the port. What time is the last tram back to Soller town?
Hello ! Skip to the Getting Around section this article here for time tables. mallorcaunderthesun.com/discover-soller/ However due to the length of the journey I would recommend booking a sightseeing tour you can also see in the same article which is great value and will allow you to get the most out of your trip !
Rather pricey the train and the vast difference between the rail vs bus fare would suggest it's more intended as a tourist line than a way from A to B but obviously it can be used as that.
Hi Alex, we just tried to walk in without paying the €2 to the cathedral but the lady wouldn’t let us in and was very insistent on paying. I think things have changed? Unless they let you in because you’re promoting their cathedral for your video we’re not sure?.
Hi - have a look 3:10 into the video and you’ll see I handed over the 1€ entry fee! I definitely didn’t try to get past the lady at the desk without paying !
Hi - I am so sorry to hear this and did not know. I’m going to chase this up and also this needs to be highlighted. This is 2022 and there there shouldn’t be this kind of discrimination for visitors who spend their time and money to visit a destination only to find they cannot use a service. Can you tell me - are you in a wheelchair? Let me see if I can get some answers…

This is my dream destination for the sole fact that my ancestors were named after this place during the Spanish colonial era in the Philippines.
