Sóller is my home town. I've gone to Sa Colobra many times over the past 50 years and wouldn't describe any of the food there as spectacular. It's always been pretty bad. Of 6 restaurants, none has a rating over 2.2 stars on Google reviews. The place at the entrance to the parking lot fares a little better at 3.7 stars - with a lovely view of the parking lot. My suggestion: bring a picnic lunch, and have drinks on a bar patio. That's what the locals do. You'll be glad you did. (At 2:08 the presenter is standing in Carrer Sant Juan. I used to play in that alley when I was a child. Good memories)
Hi Saru, thanks for you additions! I think Maria was mostly refering to the location of Sa Calobra, but perhaps it wasn't clear enough. Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion. /Ida C - Marketing & Content
@@charlesmarlowbros Quote: "... you can head north of the coast and stop at Sa Calobra equally they've got another restaurant there which is equally spectacular..." Seems perfectly clear. My suggestion stands, take food with you. If you want to sit on a patio and watch the ocean, buy some drinks and enjoy but pass on the food. It will lead to a better experience. (Unless you have the name of this spectacular restaurant?)
INDEED ! THE FOOD IN SA CALOBRA IS THE WORST . ESPECIALLY SPAGHETTI THE WORST IN MY LIFE . been there 3 times not recommended . Better to bring your owm food
Fantastic video! Roll on 27th July 2022. ✈ I'm a solo traveller and this has really inspired me. Thank you 😁 excited. It's allayed my fears.....I made the right choice! Beautiful place ❤
You made the right choice, Mallorca is very safe in general, but one should always have an eye out for pick-pockets. You are going to love the west coast!
Thank you for this video. I was curious to know what it's like there in December as I'm planning a solo week there this year before Christmas. Weather certainly looks great !
Hi Jeff, thank you for your comment. According to our sources the train is active all year round however the schedules reduce during the winter months. If you’re planning to travel from October to March, make sure to check the timetables before your trip. trendesoller.com/eng/timetable
Thank you for this!! It's hard to find out online about Soller in December! In terms of food options and accessibility without a car, would Soller or Valldemossa be better in December? And what restaurants would you recommend that stay open in December! Thanks so much!
Mallorca can be really lovely in December, but winter season is of course not as weather secure as the summer. Very often it's around 18 degrees Celsius or even more, but can drop to 10. Valldemossa and Deia are also a bit chillier as they are locates in the mountains. Quite a lot is open in wintertime in Soller and Port de Soller, but Cas Patro March in Cala Deia as we mention in the video is usually not open in December.
Thank you for the suggestions! I love the sound of the restaurants but they all seem to be closed when I’m visiting (January 1st-3rd). Do you have any other recommendations please? Thanks in advance!
Hi Ellie, sorry we missed this comment! Hope you had an amazing stay in Soller, did you find a place you liked? We'll do more videos on restaurants in the future. Thanks for watching!
thank you for the video, very informative :D ! Would the train pass thru the orange valley on the route from Palma to Soller or from Soller to Port Soller?

December is a great time for a visit! The weather can get chilly but there are plenty of sunny days to enjoy a stroll around the sea or town. 🥰
What a great video! Can't wait to visit. Can you spell the restaurants you recommended around the 8-minute mark please?
Cas Patro March and Sa Foradada :)
I heard train from Palma to Soller closes for a period during the winter. Do you know the exact dates when the train will be closed this winter?
