I really wanted someone to ask where the $950 price comes from. That’s insane. If it were less than an electric bike, this would’ve been a great company.
Bafang is the most sought after electric bike conversion kit. In the same wattage, the 500W 48V BBS02 Mid Drive Motor Kit costs 500$ + 400$ for a 48V battery. And it takes roughly 1-2h to install (so, the idea it to keep it permanently affixed). Their product can me mounted/dismounted in 60 sec and it looks like it includes a battery (probably a 48V too). So, for 1000$ it's a good price. That thing might even store energy every time you use the break. That's a good product but the sharks had no idea about the electric bike conversion kit market.
Electric bikes cost thousands and thousands of dollars. I am not sure what his comment was you can get one for 500 dollars which is not at all true. You can find them sub 1000 dollars but they are terrible.

You can easily get a 750 watt motor bike for almost $1000 and top speed usually is around 28 mph for most bikes with that wattage. Comes with a LED screen to tell you how fast your going and what gears you are shifting in. It's just a tire with a motor. People back in the days would use lawnmower motors to get around for under 50 bucks. The sharks were smart for not investing in a wheel for the price of a E-Bike.

If you really want people to be interested, a solid reasonable price is actually around 300 tbh
@Jocelyn The reason for that is the type of motor they use. BLDC motors provide low torque but high rpm. The loss in efficiency of using friction is compensated by the increase in efficiency of using a BLDC motor over a brushed DC motor. So I would say they are not too different in terms of efficiency and no BLDC motor cant be used with gears because of the way the motor works and forcibly using it with gears anyway will lower its efficiency.
I think there's a market. For people that have a really nice bike (or bikes🤣) that have thought of going electric, but will always want to be able to go back to their regular bike. The only issue I'd be worried about is axle width compatibly.

There's already competitors out there doing it for $300-$400 on Amazon which is still wayyy too much
This is perfect for folks like myself who own multiple bicycles. Jim Rohn taught me to "Buy one and rent out the other" lol! ---all jokes aside, the GeoOrbital is perfect because I can swap out the tires on either bike---especially on a day that I'm cranking out miles. The price is steep but it's better than buying another bike. PLUS They resolved a global sustainability issue. Ever wonder what happens to bikes never sold or the ones nobody wants anymore?? I have. It's not a good look.
Yea but I just have bikes laying around and when the price is more than an electric bike I would rather just buy an whole electric bike because not everyone wants to spend 850 on a Bike tite
@@caden1456 yes but some people do. Thats the point you don't seem to get
@@NadiaSeesIt who in their right mind does if people did they wouldnt be out of business
Sustainability? Guarantee that thing breaks within one year of heavy riding
@@NadiaSeesIt yeah stupid people that want to show off how much money they can waste on a bike tire.
Kevin and Barbara cycling tho 😇
Bikes can sell for several thousand, especially name brands, so this would be an occasional upgrade for those consumers.
When Mark says “Good Luck” instead of congratulations you know you got a bad product
“Oh you don’t own a team” was literally the lamest thing he could have said there. Shutting up and laughing it off would’ve been way better 😂
Bro the way Cuban looked at sacca when he made that comment LOL
Everytime I think Lori or Barbra would have to take off their heels to do something , they prove me wrong 😂😂
Barbra “ that’s a really cool bike , for that reason I am out “
I'm surprised nobody asked how to charge that thing 🤔. When I had an electric bike I took the motor with me to charge in the apartment. I'm sure there's different options for different bikes but if I can't charge it inside I wouldn't be able to use it
Any Update on The Company ?
Barbara literally went out with the bike saying "I'm out".
I'm addicted to this channel, not gonna lie lol
Great attitude from these Innovators, their ideal may still lead to success if they can improve the price point.
Nope. They tanked.
Mr wonderful said you have 1 more shark left and pointed at Barbara. Right then and there they should've known that it was over and "she's out" . 😂😂😂
4:12 my reaction when someone cuts in front of me at the McDonald’s double drive thru
This looks super familiar to an ad I saw where it was exactly the same with the wheel but you put a battery pack on top between the handlebars
Barbara: "I have horses to pull me on my carriage, and for that reason, I'm out."
Thank for uploading the pitch from 2011
I would pay $300 max for this. It’s a great idea
You don't make enough money then. Get back to work
Pedal backwards to break, imagine going 20kmph and doing that in an emergency.😅
This must have been right after The Toor presentation where Chris and Mark had that big argument.
They are competing against Bafang kit. Except Bafang kit is twice more powerful but their kit can be installed in 60 seconds. That's a good product provided it's compatible with a wide range of bicycles. The sharks just did not know about the electric bike conversion kit market.
Mark was visibly shook 😂😂😂
Michael and Dakota, keep your heads up becasue this is something that could radically transform the electric bike industry. Just like Dakota remarked, ÿou guys are indeed on a roll.
They went out of business already.
No, lol. The entire physics of it tells me that I would be doing the environment more favour by investing in an actual electric bike, which is surprisingly way cheaper than this too.
They didn't eventually do well on the market, this show aired a few years ago and they did great for a couple of years but their company has been silent for the last year or two and they have stopped selling, Amazon reviews are not too promising either.
Barbara: “I love this bike, it makes me so happy, and for that reason, I’m out.”
That look from Mark.
4:08 Where did that come from?
This is kind of amazing if you think about it. You can turn a really comfy bike electric or any style of bike that they may no longer make. if the tires were that of mountain bikes then omg it would make electric mountain bikes way more affordable if you look up the cost. I actually kind of want one of these. I wish they offered fat tires and I would be all in with a trike.
It is way too expensive.
@@SilverSergeant I dont think so based on being an actual ebike consumer however, the fact that you can not buy one immediatly and have to wait forever, is where I do not find it fun. I hope they continue to do well and offer more size options IE I am interested in FAT tires. Sure you can find another kit to turn a large number of bikes electric but it requires a lot more work to configure
This is kinda not amazing if you think about it.
Ive bicycled across country on a bike I built for cheaper than this product. While I think it’s a great design the price point is extreme. Even $300 would be pushing it. I also didn’t hear them mention the weight.
Kevin: You have one shark left who's out before you even came here.
The nice thing about this which they didnt think of was, you can always change or get a new bike that u like for cheap and keep it Electric. Getting another new Electric Bike would get too expensive.
But wouldn't this electric wheel also undergo its wear and tear?
Yeah until the $1000 tire you bought breaks within a month of riding. Then What?
Not enough people are attached to their bikes in a way that they're willing to upholstering them at that price point. It's not a good investment.
Buddy really said “I’m not wearing a helmet on tv, that’s a black mail photo” remember he’s the Silicon Valley boy.
This is solving a problem that doesn’t exist.
Chris Sacca is the exact replica of Kevin Hart's brother. Hart said 'No matter how great something is my brother finds a negative in it.'
Kevin Calls his brother:
Kev: 'Hey Ken, number one on the box office!'
Ken: Yeah, domestic
Kev: What are you talking about, dude let me enjoy it.
Ken: I am just giving it to you real.
Barbara "You didn't tell me beforehand how to use the brakes, and for that reason, I'm out"
One of the best idea on here
here in one single city it is very common about 3 to 4000 students commute to school on old bikes ....ring ring ring the bell
Barbara: I love that bike & for that reason I'm out.. 3:34
