I love how Kevin throws out deals to actually help the entrepreneur. He does these things to force the other sharks to come down and make it more fair. It's genius
And that's why he is wonderful
He gives out a lot of really predatory deals designed to suck the company dry and make him money.
@@dascherofficial yes and no they wouldn’t be deals that suck the company dry if it could really be successful. Although his deals are tough and unfair sometimes they only get bad when the risk is very high for him. Of course even if you personally had multiple millions of dollars you would want to recoup money from your failed investments even if it’s partial so the companies with the most risk either flop and can’t sustain under his deal or become successful and then they are better off for it
@@dascherofficial he is predatory . The royalty route is ok but it needs to be reasonable .
@@dascherofficial you’re always open to counter but they don’t even bother to respond to Kevin’s offer and honestly, they’re are stupid for doing so. The value of a royalty only goes down but the value of a big chunk of stock only goes up. You’re losing more with giving away more of the company, and the royalty structure is a form of insurance for Mr. Wonderful so that it’s worth the risk and his rewards are cut down a little bit but it’s better than nothing at all. His offers are genius and people are just succumbing to the other sharks’ banter..
It was so clear they didn't want Kevin . But I felt so bad, his deal was so much better , and they just kept ignoring him 😭
well hes a man he wont be able to come up with more ideas all he want is money
he didn’t want them either. he was just messing with lori and bethany to get a better deal for the entrepreneurs. he does this sometimes

The funny thing is if a guy would have done this same thing to a woman giving him offers and he ignores her and only negotiates with a male he would’ve been called ‘sexist’ these stupid women don’t see the irony.

They are lucky that Mr. Wonderful was there or they would have only had a terrible deal with no competition. Mr. Wonderful’s deal actually helped them get a better deal without being messed with. Especially that first offer of 100k at 40% for only one shark was horrendous.
All of these sharks should be paying Kevin a fee for structuring their deals for them. It works out that way so often. He comes up with a solid, flexible deal and another shark just raises their hand and says “yea I’d do that”.
I like how Kevin really wanted this deal. Also, it went from asking for 40% to settling at 25%.
I think he just didn't want to see a 50/50 partnership get swept away into a 35/35/40 split where they lose all decision making authority and the company basically capsizes out of indecision. They literally could have taken the better deal and do the exact same branding/plan they spoke about but gave up more equity. Odd choice. Looking at their site looks like they still have the same name and product line. But they gave up more of the company in the process
Yeah but the new shark already had a feminine brand and access to customer data, also Lori can post it on qvc and sell a few thousand units in a night probably. But without kevin they would have been robbed of equity.
Its not a bad decision they chose the women , but they were not smart enough to make a clever deal for themselves , they shouldn't have offered 25% for 100k right out the gate . Maybe should've went down to 15 or 20 and then negotiated better . This way they gave 25% and a guaranteed 200k away

Kevin's offers were actually good. It was clear that they went there to only make a deal with the female sharks.

i am CRACKING UP! Lory panicked when Kevin said "I'll take that deal" when he stole First Friday Lime from her and Daniel. She took that counter offer quick!
Usually entrepreneurs will come in with a shark or two in mind that they’d want to team up/partner with. It’s not just about the money from then on, this is a classic example of that. Kevin had a better offer here but I believe that it isn’t just about the money it was about being strategic while getting the presumably right partners that add value.
the fact is they considered 40% equity which is ridiculous, they are sexist, yes, if their offer was just a little worse it would make sense but that was absolutely sexist and disrespecful, imagine a guy refusing lori's offer even though she made a better deal
@Edu funnily enough, that happens a lot in this show. People choose who they want to partner with. If u have a sports product obviously u wanna go with mark, clothing product with daymond. At the end of the day, its about your choice of partners that will help it grow, not about the money
