- The lateral monkey crawl is an excellent primal movement for beginners. It's been featured in several other SMOOV videos and is also featured in the SMOOV 45 program (link below).
This video showcases 6 different monkey crawl exercises that you can practice to master the monkey movement. Use these moves to stretch, strengthen and mobilize the body while continuing to develop ground movement skills.
Over time, supporting the body through the hands will become more natural and other cartwheel progressions can be added (future video!)
These moves are largely inspired by capoeira and the cartwheel displayed in this video is traditionally called Rolê.
