I don’t get how this isn’t a workout or warmup? I personally run 100m and lift heavy 6 days a week but this is absolutely a workout. If you don’t work on simple movements like this you will pay the price as you age.. any professional coach gets you doing this before you start.
Finally the workout that feels natural. I don't need to focus to follow some strange moves and losing my breath rhythm. It just feels like I was born to do that moves .
Thx for this mate. It’s the best Primal move video I’ve found so far. Simple, steady and clear. Non of this dancey super coordinated showing off flow look at my gorgeous body on a beach shit! Just solid and achievable. Excellent. Thank you 🙏🏻
i just want to thank you so much for this. I’ve been home bound because of physical illness and even though these exercises are a bit too advanced for me, the way you constantly remind us what to focus on and what we should be feeling has allowed me to adjust the movements while remaining confident. you’ve changed how i feel about movement. it’s been something i’ve feared for so long because movement = pain and having to recover. thank you for finding fun movements that are easy to apply to our own personal abilities and thank you for taking the time to really explain and remind us what to focus on. i really appreciate the effort.
Thanks for the comment! Means a ton that this stuff has impacted you in a positive way. As someone who dealt with chronic pain for years, I can relate. It can feel like you're always running away from the pain. I invite you to focus on what you are building with your body and your movement practice...what you are moving towards. A few minutes of journaling on what you want to create with your physical experience can shift the focus to that growth oriented mindset. Let me know how this lands for you. I really appreciate this share and your support. Keep going!
I really liked this workout, but it was hard. However, it was easier to follow than the previous one. I really liked that you explained step by step each of the movements. I am planning to repeat this routine at least once a week until I am so comfortable with the movements that I can anticipate them. Thank you so much for posting. I always wanted to include primal movements into my workouts. Let's see how far this 56 year old body can take me.
I'm in the last week of the Smoov 45 workout plan, and must say.. it were some challenging weeks! I started out with some basic understanding of what primal movement is. My stamina was bleeeh, my strength was decent ( Ring workouts ), sleeping enough and eating clean were also areas to make progress in. Now that i'm at the end of the plan, I can tell you that I progressed in all those areas and that I really feel fit, strong, flexible and energized! It was a commitment, a sometimes impossible task to show up every day. But it was definitly worth it! You should really give it a try, Smoov45. 6 weeks of resetting your mind and body.
That sounds great. Am happy that ypu have achieved your goal!🎉 however... noticed any appearance changes as well? Or only in the feels? Am curious cos this sort of workout looks fun to do 😊
@@JBKNL It was very fun to do because it's a new style of training, for me it was, and it has unlocked much more than when I was just doing strength training. Being strong and looking all buffed is nice but there is waaaaay more potential with the body. There are some elements of strength training involved: push-ups, pull ups, squats.. But the main focus is on getting leaner, more flexible, improving overall movement, fixing bad posture, creating a powerfull core.. so many benefits come from this kind of workout, I can go on. And now, when I look in the mirror now, I see a healthy looking, strong, and happy 44 year old man. Most important thing is: just show up and do the work. Even when you lack motivation, you are tired or having a bad day. The reward is worth it!

This exercise type seems to be a full body workput which seems great ☺️
@@JBKNL I'm creating a workout plan for myself when I finished the Primal 45 plan I'm currently in. It will be 4 days primal movement combined with 1 day strength training on the gymnastic rings. I'm addicted to the Primal now 😁 always thought that it was for yoga hippies or something like that.. But damn, was I wrong about that. Never felt better! And Grant is always there to help you out when you get stuck or have any questions 💪
I am traveling today and was feeling quite anxious about it all. Honestly, after this short session, I feel refreshed, awake and ready for the day. Love the full body connection and will keep practising that lateral monkey - definitely my favourite. x
So, I came back to this today after several months of training with primal movement. It is really wonderful to see how it is easy for me to flow through the movements now. However also neat to notice that the movements still aren't "easy". It reminds me of ballet - one can become more and more proficient and expert, but even the simplest technique drills still challenge the body.
Amazing observations of the practice! Love that you notice the connection to ballet with your background. The connection increases but that doesn't necessarily make it easier...very cool observation. Thanks for sharing!
What was impressive (to me) is that these really are "beginner level" moves, at least in terms of complexity (except for some versions of the Monkey. Really well conceived and programmed.
loved primal movements for years but I'm not really the type to make my own workouts! weren't able to find good follow along flows which fitted me until now! thanks a lot for your time and videos! ❤
Don't let the Old Man In ! Thank You for your time making this Excellent Workout I am 64 and working on this routine to connect with the Spirit of Nature in all its Glory.
You are a true pro. Your instructions are clear and concise. Absolutely the best primal movement instructor ive found. I have the flexibility of an ironing board but i am improving with your workouts and they allow me to still get a fantastic workout
Thanks for the workout! It arrived at the right time, I was looking for a beginner primal flow workout to put into my routine. Movements are simple and your instructions really helped me focus on the quality of my reps and to not rush through them.
This is my morning wake up routine (at 5am) with some music. Other "beginner" workouts are to.... Active to start the day. Not to offened you but I need a lazzy way to warm up and this just works for me. I have altered it a bit for my likeing but its mostly there. Added indian clubs, some stretches, and dancing, bouncing to tunes. Thank you sir.
I was so pleased to find your website. The first primal movement I saw on UA-cam was a group of women performing various primal movements. One movement I recognised that I could do was the spider crawl or climb. I could not follow the rest of their movements because it was too fast for me to learn. I can do the gorilla walk and duck walk. I realise primal movement is another way of doing bodyweight exercise, stretching and improving flexibility, balance, and posture. Even though I am 79 turning 80 in January 2025, I am still interested in learning various body movements to encourage people in their 50+ to own my blessing which is to have a toned strong muscular physique as an elderly person considering having congenital lung (useless right side) when I was born. Despite my disability, I can still play badminton and strength training.
Thank for you sharing your knowledge and skills, Grant! As a beginner, I found this session to be great. Previewing the next movement slowed down with your explanations during the break periods was extremely helpful. 🌟 I'm glad to see these types of videos return in a primal theme. 🐵
As much as I loved the previous version, dare I say this one is even better?! I so appreciate the pace and detailed explanation of the movements. Thanks so much for sharing the enhanced version!
I did the first 25 min primal video that came up for my first time,(not this one) and instructions were very hard to understand/follow without watching. Too much flow for my begining state and too hard on the wrists-and there was 5 min of wrist warmup! THIS is very clear, very understandable, and i can do with out having to look if i need to. This will be my begining of my primal journey for a month until i am strong enough to move on. Very excited and hopeful about the changes i believe it will make to my body. Effing BRAVO man! Will be checking out other videos of yours.
This Primal movement workout for Beginners is more than perfect. I really love it! It was easy to follow, quite challenging :) My body feels happier and strong!!! I'm so glad I found you!!! Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!
This is a great workout for beginners, or even for those more dladvanced wanting to add primal complementary workouts to their weekly routine. One thing I love about these workouts is that you can make it as hard as you want if you focus on squeezing and form.
Small thing to point out. When you stand straigh your feet seem to point inward. Not sure if this is optical misguidance or not... if your feet point a bit inward, try to point them outward a bit in a bit of a V shape. That way you dont cut off the bloodflow to your legs since the main "cable" goes from the groin to the leg. Otherwise great video. Am.going to try this out!
Recovering fromncold & not ready for dumbells. Thisbis a great workout..i can tell my core needs strengthening..im huffing & puffing. (This uses a different kind of strength!)

What's with the negative comments? This workout is awesome and the body feels refreshed afterwards. Take your small mindedness elsewhere
The young people only want to get big and strong, not flexible and mobile. 😉 They'll figure it out eventually..
Because this is not a workout, or even a warm-up. And it doesn’t help the body in any way, but you need to WARM UP YOUR BODY BEFORE TRAINING.

Idea: Can you do a series that you can put in numerical order so that we can do them in order to get progressively better/stronger/smoother? You've got 162 videos...it's too hard to just jump around based on titles that all sound similar.
Really appreciate the feedback! Good idea. Something we've been looking to implement. Thanks!
OMG the Jurassic bridge made me feel like a fossilized T-rex! Perfect timing and tempo for a nice sweat, count me in bro', namaste!
This is the best primal move video I’ve found. Thank you sooo much for this💜
Glad you liked it!! More to come. Stay tuned!
