- Ray Comfort from Living waters goes out and talks to people, and quite often just says words to try and make atheists feel bad about not believing.
Kaden here reacts to one of these ray comfort videos, and offers very little in terms of supporting what Ray says... but he does think that atheists and demons will probably accept jesus into their heart after watching it... so beware, if you are an atheist (or a demon) you might not be for much longer!

Indeed. Near death experiences are fascinating to listen to, but these people were not clinically dead; their brains were still functioning. This would account for the similarity of the experiences across cultures as it's gonna be a chemical mechanism I'd imagine, and does absolutely nothing to prove that there's life after death.

Not to mention the "10 commandments" is actually 12 and it's not even the same as the original stone tablet version. How it became 10? The orthodox protestants just merged the 2nd and 3rd, then the 11th and 12th. The evangelical catholics skipped 2nd and 3rd, because they like their statues.

He did thank me for, if I understood his Spanish correctly, "letting him out of that tomb after being trapped in there for three days." He then walked through a nearly dry stream - so I guess he technically walked on water - and disappeared over the hills.

The idea that I will someday lose consciousness for the last time and never wake up does scare me, and I like the idea of a supernatural being that could guide me in my life. I just know that wanting something to be real is not a good reason to believe that it is.

Umm, no not everyone is afraid of death. I learned that when my dad had a stroke and begged me to take him home and let him die there. No more hospitals. It took him 13 days to die from the day he asked me to let him die. He was 70 and lived in pain daily, hourly, every minute of the day he was in pain. My dad did not believe in god either.

Yeah, Kaden, it's really weird that Ray didn't end with asking them to be born again. It's almost like they probably wouldn't do it & that would ruin his attempt to portray himself as always outsmarting people by getting them to tell him that if they hypothetically grant that his beliefs are true, then his beliefs would hypothetically be true.

Even more, I'd want to see recordings of all his conversations where he _didn't_ manage to push them into a corner with his word games and false equivocations and... well, no idea whether there's a term for it, but the vast majority of people tend to start a casual conversation under the assumption that the other person is well-meaning, and Ray abuses that a _lot..._

I have a longstanding theory that the reason religious people are so often downright hostile to atheists, as well as do whatever they can to try and paint us in a negative light, has nothing to do with what we do or don't believe, but everything with their own doubts and their ingrained fear of any doubt when it comes to their religion. Questioning anything they believe, to them, is the ultimate act of hostility, not because we don't share their convictions, but because we don't share their fear. The worst kind of atheist, to a christian, is one who can rationalize disbelief. Not one who is just annoying or even hostile to religious people. A calm, composed atheist, using solid arguments that legitimately challenge what they believe is the absolute worst kind to them. Their hostility increases when our arguments start getting harder to counter.
What almost no christian seems to (want to) get is that most atheists are not scared to be proven wrong. That fear is almost exclusively reserved for the religious. If a god is unquestionably proven to exist, I'll no longer be an atheist. Chances are just very slim I'd be a follower of that god. He/she/it would have to answer a hell of a lot of questions first and then I'd make up my mind. One thing is sure though. If christianity somehow, against all conceivable odds, completely flying in the face of all logic, turns out to be right, now that's a god I would never worship. I'd rather suffer damnation than be eternally enslaved to that monster.

I wish that I could watch the rest of this video, but it's absolutely impossible to watch Ray Comfort for more than a few minutes without experiencing brain freeze from the sheer arrogant stupidity he says.
Yeah Ray, I'm a lier. When my kids were little I did the Santa thing every Christmas, but when my kids were older, I explained to them how to tell the difference between lies and truth. The 1st thing they asked me was, "did you lie to us about Santa?"
I admitted to having no evidence that Santa existed, so I couldn't prove it.
The very next question was, "can anyone prove God exists?"
I did not lie to them, and said no, there is not enough evidence to prove God exists.
They are adults and teenagers now, and they are all atheists. Not because I said God doesn't exist, but because I taught them the definition of proof, and they NEVER found any for God.

In my experience, the theist would glom onto the rhetorical device in your last sentence as a "gotcha" and say "SEE? You admit there is a God, and that his opinion is important!" Everything else you said up to that point would be thoroughly ignored & discarded.
I know Ray would never air it, but i would love to see someone say "What about the opposites? I've also been honest, been charitable, been faithful, and so on. Am i an honest liar? A charitable thief? A faithful adulterer?"

I am someone who has played soccer. What do you call someone who plays soccer? A soccer player. Except it was only once, as a kid, for a tournament and I sucked at it and didn't have to play for the rest of the tournament. I am not playing soccer.
Likewise, someone who lies is a liar, but is she lying right now? No. So she isn't a liar and, like you said, she's honest.
So defining me as a soccer player is as useful as saying everyone is a liar just because we have all lied and statistically we most probably will again. The more relevant part is that many of us learn to be more honest more of the time -- we make mistakes and we learn and improve.
Religion does the opposite of acknowledging that and focuses on having failed and being a failure forever and nothing you do is good enough and you deserve the worst punishment possible for making mistakes. That's straight up emotional abuse. It's gaslighting and typical behaviour of a narcissistic sociopath.

My official diagnosis are Schizoaffective depressive type, PTSD, type b personality disorder (I didn't see that doc long enough for them to pick either BPD or ASPD). But the trauma caused age regression and I've been fighting it for a long time, but lately I've been allowing it. Most of the time I have the mind of a toddler, and as embarrassing as that is, it lets me be really happy and makes my issues kinda fade away.

Assuming it's not all just a set-up to begin with I'd really like to see what exchanges Ray is withholding from us - and the "thou shalt not lie" stuff cracks me every time - because that's one Ray and Friends are breaking pretty much constantly - and be it by repeating PRATTs, fallacies and misunderstandings thoroughly pointed out to them before, over and over again ad nauseam without any resemblance of mercy..
Ray at best just wouldn't put that interview with you in his video. At worst, he'd edit it, replace his own questions and only use some bits of whatever you might have said, so that the whole thing still would look like he "got you".
Potholer54 has (or at least had, I can't find it with a quick search, though I don't actually remember the title...) a video _with examples_ of Ray doing exactly that. There's also a really good episode of Babylon 5 that shows how an interview can be turned around completely, how editing can make it look like something the interviewee would _never_ agree to ("The Illusion of Truth"). It shows off so well how it can work that the episode has even been shown in some university courses as a warning, what to look out for.
The only way I would agree to let Ray Comfort interview me would be if he agreed to also let me record. That way, whenever he releases his edited BS claiming he made me change my mind, I would have the unedited version to prove he's a liar.
@@mirandarensberger6919 Oh, yes, that's something I should have included in my comment, though certainly not failed to do in situation - if you have a sufficient amount of material to draw from then you can make anybody say essencially anything, whatever you want them to say as far or even opposed to their actual opinions and convictions it might be.
This will get even worse if it isn't already starting, with all the AI and deepfake stuff - but that's not even necessary.
I definitly would love to see the original tapes of Ray's interviews. If Ray truly had faith in God and trusted in both his supposed motives and capabilities, or at the very least his arguments'/rhetorical manipulation tactics' lifechanging impact he wouldn't need to edit anything at all - a raw, unaltered version would be so much more convincing, but I guess that's not the purpose of such clips to begin with - they serve to preach the choir in the first place, meant to demonstrate that _atheists simply don't know better and will break within five minutes when confronted with the overwhelming logic of christianity._

I find it interesting that God used up 4 of the 10 commandments on himself, kinda narcissistic if you think about it.
Also it is interesting that God did not include 'thou shall not treat another human as a slave', 'thou shall not r@p3, mol3st any child or adult regardless of gender', 'all humans regardless of race, ethnicity etc… are all to be treated equally' didn't make it on to Gods top 10 moral commandments.

I appreciate the opportunity to clarify my thoughts here. Your videos include many definitions and explanations of ideas I needed clarified. I’ve just been obsessed with a recent experience of someone trying to push the Bible on me; it was a man at my door with his young son. I was plain about my opinion that the Bible is ridiculous and he scurried off after a brief talk with me but I’ve been obsessively thinking about it since. Nice job keeping some educational content throughout these entertaining videos. Lots of love here, for you and your work.

Not afraid of death per se. I wasn't aware the 14 billion years before I was born, and if I extrapolate that feeling to being dead I'm probably not gonna be aware either.
But the way I could potentially die might be scary, especially if it ends up being a drawn out and painful death.

There is so much I want to say about this video. NICE pick, Tick! I'd REALLY like to see Ray encounter you on a park bench randomly one day and start in on his schtick only to have it finished halfway through by a floating circle (or your human form, whichever you choose) and then have explained to him by someone who has actually thought about why they dont accept silly claims, regardless of how hot and torturous they make-believe a place to be. Then you flip the tables on him and start preaching the word of Lisa, leaf be upon her. Explain to him that his way is folly, but he CAN be redeemed if he'll only commit himself to treating others with compassion and the way they wish to be treated and proclaiming Lisa as Highest of Highs. Tell him Lisa really tried to abolish Super-Mega-Hell, but the red tape was just too stressful and also she doesnt have opposable thumbs. I'll Pascal Wager he'll be singing a different tune by then!
I think that what most people mean when they say they're afraid of death is actually fear of dying.
Its an evolutionary instinct. Any animal not who did not instinctively fear being killed was eaten by predators. Being eaten eliminates their ability to reproduce.

Personally, I love fantasy, and think a gods existence would be cool, because therein magic would exist on some scale, and I there are so many things that a god could entail, maybe it's just the D&D player in me CTFU, tho I usually play atheists in D&D (with a different definition centering around worship).
Always throws Theists off script tho when they hear this.
I mean if Thot was real, MCU Thor not necessarily the original Norse god, it would be pretty cool! I have never heard of a god that people pray to that I wish would be real. Most are subjectively immoral and dangerous.
