This is basically “the girl at a party that you wish you didn’t start a conversation with”
Her inflection and overall tone of voice is... worrying, to say the least... She's _so_ emotionally invested in this bullshit, there is no way she wasn't heavily indoctrinated. She'll almost cerainly need years of professional help to overcome all that trauma... 😭
That’s what I was thinking as well. A lot of apologists annoy me. This one though, just made me sad.
I’ve known a few people like this. All of them were either heavily indoctrinated by someone, usually their parents, or they used religion to escape something (addictions, loss of loved ones) and dove in too hard. Either way it’s like they start to lose who they are as a person and can’t think about anything without tying it to their religion somehow.
What scares me the most is that ever since my grandpa died and grandma’s mental health started declining, my mom seems to be heading that way and I don’t know how to help her.
Or she may never seek professional help, because - like my siblings, both of whom are in their 60s - she'll never understand her need of it. That Bizarro world they were raised in is the only real reality on their view. They think I'm insane for not believing.
Imagine obsessing everyday over why Voldemort hasn't cast the Unforgivable killing curse over the entire country.

Oh dear. Someone really broke her brain. In any country other than the USA she'd be in a rubber room. Feels like law enforcement should keep a very close eye on her because she sounds desperate, disturbed, crazy, and radicalised enough to be capable of doing something absolutely appalling ... while smiling beatifically, utterly convinced she's doing "God's work."
In The demon-haunted world Carl Sagan cites a study of 12,000 ritualistic killings, but they're never committed by anyone who worships a literal devil, it's always Christians trying to cast out the devil that end up guilty of Slaughter. This belief itself is the scourge.

@@uncleanunicorn4571 Funnily enough, that's the book that's by my bedside right now, and I'm halfway through reading it :)
It seems be mainly a US thing, but you only have to look at the UA-cam comments on things like True Crime videos to see the number of people seriously suggesting "demonic possession" as a valid explanation for all sorts of heinous crimes, insisting demons and demonic possesion are real, etc.
And if people genuinely believe in demons and witches and suchlike, then - as you say - that makes them capable of committing pretty much any horrific act under the belief that it's to combat and "cast out" those imagined entities.
Sagan absolutely nailed it with his "I have a foreboding" piece in that book - the slide into superstition and the rejection of reason is palpable.
@@uncleanunicorn4571 One thing christians conveniently ignore is that the only people that would worship the devil have to be christians themselves, just batting for the other guy.

There is no hate like "christian" love!
Shouldn't the quotes be around "love"?
@@zachreads or both
@@zachreads You have to understand linguistics. Think of it as a compound word. An apple pie is not an apple made out of pie or a meat pie made in the shape of an apple, it's not [apple] [pie] but [apple pie]. Or why you call it a fire truck but it isn't a truck that is on fire.
Christian love isn't [christian] [love], it's [christian love], which translates into English as 'abject hatred'. It's one of those extremely insular jargon terms you see used in cults to make the victims feel like they have secret knowledge because they have a special language.
You can see it here: crazy woman thinks slaughtering everybody would be a "loving act" because her cult version of 'love' is just a code for, well, _crazy shit._

In fact, come to think of it, I see a startling similarity between God and Kilgrave from Jessica Jones; some creep with the power to control minds, who keeps sending strangers your way to alternately tell you he loves you and punish you for not loving him the way he wants you to.
Imagine people trying to enslave themselves and others to a being that doesn't exist.
Sounds like something from the SCP wiki.
That was aggravating to listen to. Also, I haven’t looked up anyone from my Christian middle school, but I have this sinking feeling that a lot of my bullies have grown up to be self-righteous Bible-thumper types as well, whilst I - seeing during my schooling that being a Christian does not automatically mean you’re a good person - basically dropped religion after I left. I feel like there are so many religious people who cry about being persecuted who are the most well-off; they have the privilege of being in a place of power and status to feel comfortable that their way of existence is the right one, and that anyone below them calling them out who are their victims are just “attacking them for no reason”. I d’know. Always just came across as the same stupid childish mindset of a bunch of school-aged bullies who haven’t grown the hell up.
That's the draw of monotheism and what makes it so dangerous at the same time. The thought process goes like this.
- I have a god.
- It is the only god and cannot be questioned
- It is the only god and cannot be questioned and I follow it so I must be right.
- People that disagree cannot be right because my god is the only god and cannot be questioned.
- People that don't agree with me must be against god.
- If they are against god then it doesn't matter what happens to them.
Not saying this is everyone but it applies to people like the women in this video.

true, sad thing is I use to be like her. I became an atheist trying to prove what I believed to be true.

The second someone said "I don't care what anyone says I'm telling you X is the case" they're admitting they don't care about the truth. I'm glad that this car theist prays about her beliefs instead of actually doing something with them, because someone this uneducated is likely to do something harmful with them.
I commented almost exactly the first part of your comment before I saw it. I think that might have been one of the most telling sentences in Hannah's video (and maybe the only statement she made that I believe). I'm glad you pointed this out. One thing I'd like to add: she says "I don't care what anyone says..." yet the most convincing bit of "evidence" for most Christians seems to be testimony. You know, other people saying things. I also bet that she cares very much what others with unfounded, completely fabricated similar beliefs have to say. That echo chamber ain't gonna fill itself.
Hold your facts please, I've already made up my mind 😂
@@terranhealer Exactly, and my problem with that is that you then can't trust them with anything. They'll just dismiss facts whenever they feel like it and do whatever. And since reality doesn't affect those choices you can't convince them it's right or wrong and they have nothing to convince anyone else if anything is right or wrong; everything is then opinion and can be dismissed as such.
So basically: loud and rigid = correct, and might makes right. The same thing with interpretations of holy books. If you can't show what's correct then everything is or isn't correct, based on opinion, and the majority that can force itself on others is then correct, until reality catches up.
Personal belief and faith are not useful pathways to truth and encouraging it constantly and discouraging criticism of it is abusive. And you can't trust people that randomly choose to use unreliable methods, and stick with it despite it being shown to be unreliable, and glorify the unreliable method instead of dropping it. Anyone does at least one of those three things and are hopefully shown to be wrong and then a healthy person will correct themselves. Theists are pathological abusers.

Jon, I think you made a really important observation there about how she's reading those verses. I remember being the one nerd in school who would always volunteer to "read the next section aloud", and although I always enunciated, projected, and pronounced every word correctly, I would often have to go back and read that section silently for any real comprehension. I focused so much of my minds resources to ensure I didn't sound stupid that I might as well have been reading Aramaic. I'll bet she has never read her Bible cover to cover and tried to understand any of it for herself. Not being mean, but I think most Christians have the book for prop/icon purposes, a reference guide, but rely on their pastor or preacher to tell them what it actually says. After all, it's so long, meandering, mostly boring and repetitive with archaic language and flowery prose that they can't be expected to read it. Reading is for sissy libs who just want nothing but sin continually.
I live in Ohio myself, and I'm glad that
religion wasn't forced on me by my
family.
This girl doesn't represent all
Ohioans though, I hope some
commenters know that, but I mean
no disrespect to those that have
been religiously brainwashed, which
to me is both sad and scary.
The fanatics need to stop pushing it
and pulling the persecution card
when some people don't wanna hear
it and have said as much.
You push too hard, people will start
pushing back, and yet people like
her always wanna play the victim.
Just some more food for thought
later, folks
what a dunce she is, probably home schooled. Parents don't do this to your children!
She'll probably produce many children which will be as indoctrinated as herself. That's the way in which religion propagates.
SkepTick said one of his friends went to school with her. Maybe she had to be taken out of school for the sanity of the other students.
People like that terrify me, because it’s so easy for them to take the next step to, “Anything we have to do to stop those people from destroying our country is ok!”
I'm thankful you told us to not light ourselves on fire. Her message was soo convincing! /s lol That was so much word salad I tell you what.
I was REALLY concerned!
Like hell you are painting me purple
Okay just adding to my previous comment... she clearly hasn't read her Bible or she'd realize what she's doing is very unbiblical. But then again, Absolute Hatred of Everyone Different and being as un-christ-like as possible is pretty much Job 1 for American Evangelical Christianity.
I definitely agree with calling it un-Christ like. Calling it is unbiblical is more problematic. I'm not sure there is much that couldn't be described as unbiblical, depending how and what parts of the bible interpretations are drawn from. There is plenty of hate and tribalism, and even ethnic genocide in the bible.
@@stevewebber707 She's preaching, which if we look at the NT.. is against the rules. I mean, if we're taking the Booble Literally. Which her type often do.
@@setojurai Cherry-picking is the one skill all evangelicals master.
This child has been traumatized by her religious elders.
She gets more and more desperate as she goes on.
This poor girl. She seems like yet another innocent victim that fell for the indoctrination. She seems genuinely interested in making the world better, she just has the wrong people telling her what the problems are and how to fix them.
She needs psychiatric help urgently.
So do all people who actually believe in all that religious stuff, and base their lives around it! And worse, when they demand that others have to live their lives according to their beliefs 😩
She clearly believes Q-Anon crap.
This women is the reason why I could start a successful cult.
Hannah, Hannah, Hannah...
The phrase "I don't care what anybody says" is the dumbest phrase in the English language.
Imagine I told you "I don't care what anybody says, I believe that Hannah (you) is 50 feet tall."
Which thing is dumber?
1. My bad estimation of how tall you are.
2. My shutting down my brain and refusing to listen to anything anybody says about how tall you really are.
Easy.
The answer is always 2.
Shutting down your brain and refusing to listen to and consider alternative viewpoints is how we learn about the world
If you're wrong, maybe one of those other ideas will teach you something.
If you're right, it's fairly easy to listen, think, then say "Nope, that other viewpoint is wrong."
But first listen and consider it.
If nothing else, your consideration might teach you MORE about your own viewpoint.
But shutting down your brain means you'll never learn anything new, even new things about your own beliefs.
Don't shut down your brain, Hannah.
Nothing turns me off faster to someone else's point of view than when I'm told I need to "wake up". Major red flag, in my mind.
this background is so badass
I haven’t used it in forever. I think it’s great.
