I can't wait to try this. I have a 93 FLHS and wanted to upgrade my 30 year old suspension. Legend was on my mind but i couldn't find anything pre-1999. I found a guy on eBay who contacted a factory rep. Together they figured out which set I should go with. They arrived yesterday and I can't wait to put them on. I'm hoping Legend can do the same with the front. The biggest challenge for me, not being a mechanic, is gonna be taking apart and reassembling the front end. I've never done anything like this before. Thanks for the awesome instructions.
Enjoyed the video. I was wondering if it would be a bit easier to use a syringe to squirt oil into the narrow gap between the Axeo suspension and fork tube? Of course, remembering to slowly pump the fork tube after each addition of fluid. Full-watch and thanks for the informative video. 👍🏽🤠 9/19/23
Question, I upgraded the 22 road glide front wheel to 21 inches and changed it to axeo21 (0414-0543). I also added 13.5oz(400cc) of the fork oil with screamin' eagle heavy. My weight is 80kg and my wife often rides in the back, so I installed the pre-load by turning it around once. However, even if I ride alone, if I pass through a slightly deeper manhole, I get a shock as if the front cartridge is pounding. Is this right?
I am getting this done for my roadking 2007, being that I won’t be watching it get done how would I know they put in the correct part? What if they decided to just change the spring and keep the legends cartridge for themselves?
Do not put any loctite on the bottom bolt! The dampen rod will spin when you have to take the forks apart for service. Will be a nightmare to get apart.
I've always used an impact to remove the bottom bolts and it comes out very easily. The sudden jolt of the impact breaks the blue loctite loose. Never an issue.
You should have put new bushing in there at timeline 18:00 that copper tells you they are worn out. FYI You can get a kit for about $90 that includes new bushings, seals, and snap ring.
That piece is called an oil lock and not an alignment cup. It keeps the fork tube from fully bottoming out and going metal to metal. The fork fluid gets trapped between that piece and the fork tube and creates a buffer. That's it purpose, not alignment.
Too bad you have to disassemble them for adjustment. They should come up with a better way. Also, billet may not be all that great. A lot of the strength of a material is carried in the surface of a part. That's why a tube can be so strong. If you machine away the surface hardening or treatment, you're loosing a lot of that strength.

You got a part number?
@@Lol_harleywhich part? The front end I had to go with Progressive drop in cartridges. Lengend doesn’t make anything for the older bikes, pre99
Good job! Thanks for not leaving out any details like other videos do. I appreciate it!

That front end looks like it's the same as my 1995 FLSTC almost the headlight assembly is different. 😊
So what did you think of the difference in ride quality?
Good video. Well explained. 🙏
Great video man
When reinstalling the forks, will they only go so far in order to keep them in alignment?
Finally not a road glide or street glide

What year is this bike? Will this be the same process on my 13 road glide?
how long did it take you to add fork oil for each fork and remove air bubbles?
What kind of fork seal tool do you use? Do you recommend a certain kind?
Thank you for the information
What is total lenght fork tube i should use for the kit you are using and can i have the kit # ?
Great job!

Wait. These don’t even have an adjustable rebound damper? Thanks for the video. I’m gonna pass on these.

Well I guess the engineers don't know what they're doing.
@@PkwyDrive13 How so...?
