@tater259 Yes, in my whole Buchanan Safari series I was in Buchanan at the GPAA claim . In this shot I was about 300' from the far east end of the farm. The place needs a good 100yr flood to refresh the creek with new gold. This place is good if you want to dredge down 4-5' to bedrock. The caretakers are great people. But placers are not easy to find and are "fine" at best.

@bobinmissouri I got one about 4' and it does a really nice job. I had that on one of my earliest videos . That would be in my Video favorites "The Early Days" on my you tube channel page.

@piecartbox Yeh! Like I said prior, this was the first time out with the sluice and I learned alot thru more R&D. The creek at Buchanan is not real fast, so I just enjoy and let it go slow. To many other times in life we hurry, but not at the creek. Thanks for the comment. Grandpa!!!

Dredges like any tool, have their place. Not in a location such as this one that is "family" oriented. That's not B.S.! Thanks for watching ......Grandpa!!!

Sir, what you describe using a $200 pump seems to be what the people call a high banker. In all "my" viewing and reading, a dredge FLOATS! The vehicle I drive has been converted to use hydrogen. I obtained a kit from an electrical engineering friend in Canada. It is very eco friendly and inexpensive to run. As far as the price of the vehicle, it was bought for me by my wife as a gift. I used it because there was not a convenient airfield to land her father's jet nearby. Now Sir....that's B.S.!

@brindabellaoffroad Yes sir, I've got 3 of them. Love them all. Problem is, they won't go down 5' to bedrock. But that's ok. It's the experience i'm after. The gold is second.

@masonicknight3 At least at an LDMA property, they own it so they can go digging with the backhoe and bring some "better?" material to the highbankers. But there isn't any feeling like the one when "you" personally dug the dirt from the ground and found GOLD. Grandpa just likes to keep it simple.!!!

@icollectstuffdude If the water goes to fast, I empty the bucket quicker, then I have to work harder and have less time to sit around, enjoy nature and talk to my viewers. I realized I do need faster water for that sluice. It's about 11 inches wide. This was it's first time out in the stream so the sluice and i both learned a few things. For my $10 investment I wasn't to disappointed. Still more to come from the "safari". Will try Sun.pm. Grandpa!!!

@justmy10cents Was your 10cents worth in agreement with Grandpa or opposed? I actually continued on but the memory card was full, so what you saw was the result of my daughter's editing skills. Trust me, I finished my comments in part #8 which is scheduled for Sun. 8/22. I'll keep you guessing! Grandpa !!!

@bobinmissouri I like your videos. To be honest, shooting videos eats up alot of good "prospecting" time. But that's kinda what my mission is. I want to have fun finding a little gold and make video memories for my family and friends. I'll have all the gold I want to see when I'm walking on the "streets of gold in heaven". I enjoy your comments. Grandpa!!!

Yeah we have family gold mining museum theme parks they can go do their recreational stuff in, lets leave public lands open for people to be able to make a living.

are you prospecting on the GPAA claim in Buchanan ?

So the dredgers should convert their polluting Brigs or hondas to HHO so they too can be more eco friendly. Well now we are getting closer. Gold mining and prospecting was never intended to be recreational it was a means by which men could support their families or just themselves. And today that seems to be a viable option where these people have the access and freedom to use the tools of choice to get that job done, that is provide for their families. Problem is this country is being shutdown

Let's be honest folks. VERYONE knows GPAA claims are raped 20ft deep and bank to bank, upstream to downstream.
The reason they have these old claims is because no one else wants them, and it can truly be garanteed that the claim HAS gold. just specks tho.
been to them all, and even at the flagship claim at loud mine, there simply isnt any gold left ( within where they allow you to mine). if i lie, tom and perry, prove me wrong.
gpaa is basicaly a camping club anymore.

That hand pump you use is a dredge also and I have seen them used to make huge holes just like a big floating unit it just takes a lil longer to do, that is the only difference grandpa is time so please get off your high horse that you are somehow more ECO tree hugging sucker fish approved friendly. Sorry but I'm not buying into the self rightious and duplistic retoric here....(that last comment might get old grandpa all stoked up yet, I feel a good old fashioned all stoked up rant video soon)

  • @1NRG24Seven

That truck you drive to prospect is a tool also to get ya there without so much effort, think about it, your arguement falls flat on its face about a dredge. Its just another tool making the effort easier, and yes the dam dredgers should fill their holes we agree there.

BS.then why do you drive a 20 grand plus vehicle to go prospecting without hoofin it?...I guess because thats your level of greed, your to lazy to walk there. Your just too cheap to buy a dredge or make one admit it and your envious of those who have it. Hell I used a 200 dollar harbor freight pump and some hose I attached to a sluice about like yours there...no need for pontoons or fancy frames. A dredge is like any other tool that makes it easier to process more material faster.
