It did not work for my Samsung tv as it is then impossible to turn it on when main board is unplugged.
Hi,
I would like to thank you, because thanks to your instructions I managed to repair my Samsung 32' UE32H6200 TV.
We own it for almost 4 years.
One day, after being turned on for about 10 minutes, it started to show random flickering horizontal lines, starting from top left.
As the time passed with TV on, the horizontal lines multitued.
I followed your instructions, step by step.
The problem was with flat cables.
After disconnecting and reconnecting, the problem was gone!
I was lucky.
That is our first Samsung TV and maybe the last.
It was sad to see it been broken after just 4 years of use.
On the other hand, we have a couple of LG TVs that work without any problem for more than 10 years.
God bless you!!!
Thank you again!!!
thank you -glad i could help!

Oh my God this guy is awesome, a buddy of mine gave me his 65 inch Samsung curve TV that would not turn on. I looked on the Internet, UA-cam and discovered this amazing man right here. Not only did he help me fix my TV but he guided me every step of the way. He has a passion to help others. I am very thankful for this company and I will continue using him in the future. You are welcome
My tv that isn’t even a year old just quit working. No red light even after attempting to reset and try a new outlet. We had some bad storms and I think that’s what did it. This video was very straight forward and helpful. I plan to use this in figuring out what is wrong with my tv so I can fix it. Love the message at the end of the video when you mentioned keeping TVs out of the landfill yards. Not many people are worried about sustainability these days. Love to hear it. thanks for the video!
Thank you for your encouraging words. I am here to serve.
MY MAN!!! You just saved me $700. I love my Samsung TV and thanks to you, I was able fix it. Thanks again.
Great Job!!!
Super helpful! I got halfway through troubleshooting my TV with suspicions that the main board is the issue, but I wasn't sure how to eliminate the t-con as a possibility. Apparently it's as easy as unplugging it 😂 Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for your excellent explanation. Because of your video, we managed to fix our TV. Happy new year!
Glad I could help, please tell a friend. Thanks.
Sr. you're amazing teacher, thanks a lot .. I don't know nothing about tv repare but my tvs just didn't turn on with this video it's more easy to find what isn't good and more chepa to have tv again in my home, God bless you 🙏
I am glad you found it helpful!
has the knowledge to fix a tv but refuses to replace the batteries on his smoke detectors. lol
has the knowledge to replace batteries on your smoke detector but need this video to help you attempt to repair your own tv. LOL
My brother needs to replace the battery in the smoke alarm. If you don’t get that smoke alarm fixed you’re not gonna have to worry about your TVs LOL take care man and great video!!
lol
That unit is over 15 years old it is going to be hard to find a good main board. I think you are spot on with your prognosis- main board. Remember you also have the other boards and backlights in this unit that are also 15 years old. Consider cutting your losses of time and money.
My 55" smart Samsung TV has a line 6 " up from the bottom across the TV, and right side of TV is draker or shadowing compared to left side
what is the brand name, model number. Are the lines horizontal or vertical? Important things to know for me to try to help. Hit me back.

Great video - i checked this out today as my UE75nu8000 has red flashing light and wont power on, I removed the back and removed the cable from power to the board and the TV was lit up permanently. Plugged it back in and didn't work. Then took out the 2 panel cables and the TV was back lit again. So this has led to me believing the panel is at fault and that was all down to this video so thanks
Glad it helped
Thank you for your help, I was able to fix my Samsung TV.
Good job!!
Goofing around and found this well informative video. You are an excellent teacher. I have learned so much from your step by step instructions. Thanks.

Good info, made me more comfortable about opening and troubleshooting my 82in Samsung.

Very Helpful. I fixed my Samsung Tv . Thanks brother

Hey thanks for the video i have a samsung nu8000 75 and it stopped turning on i trouble shoot it and ended up being the panel in your opinion is it worth replacing the lcd panel i can't even find it though
So, did you disconnect the two ribbon cables from the t-con board to the LCD panel to see if your tv power up? Now if it does, you do have a panel issue. A panel is worth the cost of replacing that tv for a new one. Buy a new and sell the boards inside on Ebay. Hope this helps.
Helped solve my problem many thanks 👌
give me some information - brand, model number and problem that you are having with your TV.

For everybody that try everything shown here and it’s doesn’t work, I has found a better way that work for me and wants to shares with u guys before u consider throwing tv away. My Samsung TV was dead, no led power light I unplugged the power core, after that I pressed and hold down the power button on back of the tv(my is in the back) for 1 minutes, then plug the power core back in, and press power button on remote and u will see the screen turn on. I have watched a lots of videos they all saids holding power button on tv for 30 seconds, except only 1 are said holding down for 1 mins, I try that and it’s work. Thanks to that, and only 1 video said holding down for 1 minutes.
Helpful information, thanks for the input.
Good, informative video. It always helps to narrow down the problem instead of just wildly checking around with a multimeter and such.
Thanks.
Glad it helped
This the best video for Samsung
thanks
Thank you sir, this is the only video from the 100 videos i ve seen that is actually perfect and helpfull, wish i would see it earlier i could save 80 euro :)
I found out by disconnecting the 2 ribbon cables from the t con that this is the issue, the light came on with connected main board and power supply... I just wonder what i have to get now to fix it and how hard it is... Thanks a lot again, god bless you, subscribed!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
EDIT: if i connect 1 ribbon cable at the time, no matter which one, the backlight turn on, if both of them are connected at same time the backlight doesnt turn on at all, if you have an idea would be very appreciated!
Maybe indeed Tcon is bad? or definetely is the lcd / led panel bad?
Edit2: 04:10 i tried this as well, i had both ribbon cables plugged in and i just unplagged the 1 ribbon cable going to main board and the light came on...
glad I could help

Legend! Was getting a green screen. i never thought to check my wifi module. Thanks
Thanks Mark - respects to you!
Yup! Those wifi modules will strangely give off that green screen. My old TV did the same thing for a bit and I didn't use the wifi anyway so it saved me a lot of money realizing that. Wished I had found this video before that as it took me a while to solve lol
Awesome troubleshooting video! Does this apply to other Mfrs as well? Do you have this is a written guide? Thanks!
Not that I know of
Great step-by-step process, thank you so very much.
You're very welcome!
MY MACHINE Samsung UA32F5000AR - was not switching on but there was a red ignition light - I followed your tips one by one but at the end I still was unsure as to what the problem was - I watched another video which stated that he had a TV with similar symptoms as mine and that he replaced the main board - after doing that it for some reason he replace the OLD main board and his board worked ????? Crazy I know. So I disconnected my board and then reconnected it and WOW - IT'S BACK! .... really not sure what the or how I fixed it but it works again - a little scared to switch it off ..haha. But I really like d your video and wish it had a little more info like were to get parts etc .... anyway thanks again
Martin Atkinson , you can go to Patch1Stripe.com and purchase new parts. If you don't see the parts you are looking for, give me the model and part number in the contact section as we are constantly add parts not yet listed. Sometimes reseating cable can resolve problems
@@Patch1stripeTVParts Brilliant thank you for the reply and if I need anything going forward I will definitely be in contact - well done guys!
Had the same issue, red indicator light was like a sonar...disconnected the back of the unit, lifted the lid and put it back down. Thought I’d plug it in and see what would happen and it’s working again. Could it be something was pinched? We’ll see how long we have life lol.
Very good information boss
Many many thanks
Thanks good information, let's keep our landfill from over loads

Thank you very much for your time. I have a UN70TU7000FXZA Samsung tv from august 2018 with the red light flashing 2 times by any chance do you know what it means? thanks in advance
Use the troubleshooting method on the video. It should take you straight to your problem. Hope this help
thank you
Helpful video. If my backlights are much dimmer (but still on) with the t-con board connected, does that mean my problem (no picture, dark bluish screen) is probably a bad t-con board?
Are you getting audio?
Thanks for a very helpful video, my samsung smart tv does not have a tcon board, is the tcon built-in to the motherboard on newer models???.....model un55mu6300...any help would be appreciated
the t-con components can be on the main board or the printed circuit board connect lcd panel.
Real knowledge here. Now I need to check out the rest of the channel.
Justin Holmes thank you. I have a soldering video coming soon. Traditional, hot air and infra red soldering. See you soon.
thanks for explaining methods i inspired you i repaired samsung tv
Happy to help
Good job 👍🏻
Thanks 😁
Thank you for this. I have a samsung QN55Q7FNAFXZ. My tv is cycling on and off every 10-15secs with picture and sound. I was ill-advised by someone elses video and replaced the main board which didnt repair anything. Based on your video i unplugged my power board from my main board and i have NO backlight. So i should order a new power board correct?
the procedure that you described is tell you that your problem is 50% possibly being the power supply and 50% chance being your backlights. My choice would be yours - the power supply board.
Good end clear Explanation sir fr. Nelson Sanlitan from PHILIPPINES....Mabuhay

Is it worth it to replace the screen on a 55" Samsung from 2017? Thank you and I subbed! 🤓

you think the problem is in the LEd's strips or could be something else I will appreciate your answer thank you.
Replaced the backlight led stripes. All of them. Hope this helps

Awesome video so clear and simple ! I’ve got an old Samsung tcl tv not smart tv and it turns on and looks good for about 5min than it loses reds and the picture looks purple with just a little yellow left but mostly dark purples. My tcon board is built into screen so I can’t disconnect it. What do you think it is ? LCD backlight ? Thank you please reply
what is the model number of this tv?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts model number is L32m11hd
@@Patch1stripeTVParts i filmed the tv with my iphone at the very moments when the display flickered a little than a little more than boom the reds disappear and it all looks purple.its like once the tv warms up something happens and the color goes
Hello. On a Samsung un50eh5000f.. no backlights.. removed cable from power supply to main board.. still no backlights.. from your video it’s either power supply or backlights.. FYI.. when doing flashlight test I DONT see anything in screen.. what’s your opinion on issue?.. great videos and new subscriber here.
I would look at my soldering video and inspect the power supply for cracked circuits because of the age and usage of your tv. If that looks ok, I would go for the led strips. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much brother now I know the problem of my TV is a HDMI board
No problem
What do you think about a two vertical lines of what appears to be dead/stuck pixels on a Samsung 65ks8000f.
That's in the panel - no easy solution.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts thanks for the reply i figured as much but was hoping there was a possibility of something else, great channel
Where is the audio processing / amplification? Which board ?
mainboard
Nice one. That's what is referred to as "isolation" method. I love it. Thanks buddy.
No problem 👍
Hi I have a samsung un40c6300. It just started flickering with a red tint. Now it has aliasing with red tint. No damage on tv. Any help appreciated
disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable between the main board and the t-con board several times on both ends to see if this resolves your issues.
I am studying your video and appreciate all you have done. My 3-year old 55KS8000 television decided not to come on at all. I don't and never had a red light on it. It's just the white light in the front that is supposed to come on when the TV is turned on. But now, it seems that the TV just died. Nothing comes on. Any idea about which board I should focus on replacing? Thanks again for your great video. I am now a subscriber.
Hello, you have a high end tv but the troubleshooting is the same. Disconnect the lead connector from the main board and tell me if the backlights come on. If it does not the problem is with your power supply or back lights. Don't guess around buying boards, go through the complete process. It will save you money. You can do take your time. Hit me back

hey did u know where i can get an LCD Panel for my Samsung UE55RU7379 TV
good luck - probably not a new one. Maybe you can find a used one.
This video was a huge help! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Very good and clear video, very sympathetic! Might be a stupid question but anything you have said will work for every LCD TV like Philips, LG, Panasonic...NOT just Samsung? I ask this cause I wanna know if it's not possible to damage the TV just because I plug it up and 1 or 2 cables are disconnected/unplugged? Because I guess I have to replace my LED backlight and when I do I wanna test the LED backlight before and afterwards and then a few cables and the panel will be diconnected...that's not a problem, I can plug it up? Thanks...best wishes from Germany!

My samsung TV won't turn on , the power led blinks, some people says the problem is in the capacitors of the power supply board. I want to ask you if I can change the power supply board and how much it costs , my samsung TV is a 4k 55 inch uhd crystal , I bought it last year.
If it’s the power supply you would not have any lights blinking in the front. Take the back off the tv and stop guessing and follow the procedure in the video. Or just waste money guessing.
Great video! Thank you. You helped me to narrow down the problem with my TV a great deal. Keep it up!
Glad I could help!
Do you offer repair tutorials for sale my brother? I would happily purchase one for study!
Thank you for contacting me. I don't have any classes completed as on now but I am working on them. I the mean time most of my videos can be helpful. @@Patch1stripeTVParts I'm thinking I can learn to repair smart TVs, 📺 laptops, desktops, game consoles and sell them on eBay or my website to raise funds? Is that doable? Or am I being unrealistic?
Everything is possible
@@Patch1stripeTVParts thank you, my brother. You have inspired me to move forward on this decision. Any additional help to learn would be much appreciated. I've been looking into your website. You offer tools to help me troubleshoot these electronic problems that I can purchase, correct? I intend to purchase them, but I would need to learn how to use them correctly. Oh, and one more thing. I buy black. Please help me on this journey.
What tools do you have now? If so are you proficient with them? I need to know these things so I can know where to start with this process.
Thanks for the video, it was quite helpful. What I discovered is that if I unplug the T-Con, (with the Main and PS Boards connected), I get a lit screen. If I then disconnect the PSB from the Main Board, the clicking/flashing returns. The original problem was the screen flashing on and off and clicking when I switched it on. The only way I could get it to stop was to unplug the unit.
what is the model number of you tv?

Thanks for the great video! So I unplugged the strip to the power supply and I got no back lights. So I'm thinking its a bad power supply. Would that be right?
power supply or back lights failure. You have to go a little bit farther now to nail down which is the problem

I have a samsung tv un50eh5000f that don't turn on. Not even the stand by light. I made the test you did, that is, disconnecting the cable between main board and power supply, and the back lights didn't light up. Could I assume that the power supply is not good? Another thing, I tried to buy parts online but can't find the boards for that tv.

Hello I have a Samsung un75nu7100fxza. While watching I heard a loud pop and tv shut off. No power and no red light. Took off the back and tested just the ceramic fuse. Fuse is no good. What are you thoughts as to what it can be?
you can still use the method used in this video to narrow down the suspect faulty part. I would look close at all the chips and transistor on the power supply for a physically damaged component. I would take a guess that the pop came from the power supply.
Very informative video, do you have any advice on what could cause a TV to lose its deep contrast & rich colour? The tv is still watchable, in fact most people dont notice there is anything wrong with it, but i am a TV enthusiast & i notice the quality in the actual picture has dropped dramatically, the rich deep contrast is gone. Best way to describe it as its lost its pop, this is a modern Sony new model X900H. This is not the first TV we have had this problem with. Any advice appreciated.
How old is this tv? What is the manufacturing date on the label on the back of the tv? How many hour a day is the tv on? Is it a led or lcd tv?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts Hi, its brand new, the sticker says August 2020, but its a replacement for another faulty Sony from Sony, not the store i brought it from. The reason i ask is because it keeps happening, the reason the last tv was replaced was because it did the same thing. Instead of the rich deep contrast everything almost looks cartoonlike and unrealistic colour. Its an LED full array and would be on for around 10 hrs a day and we have had it for about 3 weeks now. Its obviously still under warranty but because its already been replaced Sony are starting to think its my perosnal taste in picture quality that is the problem, not a fault with the TV, but that is not the case at all. Out of the box this TV was absolutely astounding, so to say its my personal preference is sidestepping the issue in my opinion. Any help appreciated.
@@grantwills7620 Sound like its a common problem with that model. I would take it back to the store and get a different model if it has just got to be a Sony. Where did you make the purchase?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts Its the first one i have had in this model, the previous tvs were last years model so sony have actually gone above and beyond by replacing the old one with this years brand new model. Are you familiar with what it is that can effect a tvs picture thats not performing like it was out of the box (drop in picture quality but still watchable) rather than repairing a tv that isnt turning on etc. Could it possibly be a Tcon board issue or is it more likely a faulty panel? I could best describe it as something to do with the lighting is off. Its whatever gives a tv its punch or wow factor is gone.
Thank you 🙏🏾 I did every step and found the solution now my tv is working after the troubleshooting ✊🏾
Glad for you. Thanks for viewing my video!
Thank you, Great video. Would the same apply to a Sharp TV?
No - different beast - engineering etc.
@Patch1stripe TV Parts A strange new development. I measured the voltage across the backlight LED array and it was less than the specified 142V. It was my first time using a Brother Smart Multimeter and it fixated on mV and when I touched the chassis with one probe, the Backlight flashed on momentarily. What what is busted now? I can eliminate the backlight LEDs.
Bad backlights
HI there I have a LN52A55 that has vertical lines running down far right side of screen about 2-3" wide strip of lines.. Rest of screen is great??? Any Ideas??

I would take the back off and reseat ribbon cables connected to the t-con and panel for starters.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts that's my first guess also. Just haven't had time to get to that.. Thanks for the Reply. I'll try it and let ya know..

Hey man, mine only has a power board and a main board. Doesn’t seem to have a t con board. Could it be on the main board instead of separate? Model I have is LG 55SJ850V-ZA
Thanks
yes, that is correct. good luck with the repair - you got this!
Patch1stripe TV Parts thanks. I really hope it works 😬😅
Thanks
No problem
I wonder if there is a display but then on the top have some lines , what will it be ? will it be a bad t con board
Inspect the ribbon cables that connect to the the pc boards from the LCD panel. Also inspect the pc boards from the panel for burnt components. Also try disconnecting and reseating all the flat cable that connect to the t-con board.
After my Samsung 55" TV went dead, I went on line and saw how to replace the power board. I bought one used on Ebay for $34. I plugged it in and the picture came on. However, the colors aren't as rich as before. There are only two electrical components in the TV. Do you think if I replaced the other one, the picture would return?
try reseating all of you flat cable connected to the mainboard and the t-con board as well as the led panel. You may have one that is misaligned. Hope this help
Awesome video thanks 😊
Thanks for watching!
I have a question about the serial number. Im replacing the screen on my tv from another busted tv and Im woried it will affect my serial number if I replace something. In the menu I can access the serial number, on what circuit board is that number recorded?
personally I would confirm if the main board and the power supply and t-con are the same. If they are, I would roll with it and not worry about the particulars of serial numbers etc.

Great video! I have a LG TV (65uh6150) that when I plug into wall the backlights start blinking. I thought maybe my backlights were bad but when I took apart and tested the backlight LEDs they all worked. I also disconnected main board and it did the same thing. Do you think I have a bad power supply? Here's another thing I tried. With main board disconnected I took a voltage reading of 175 at backlight plug. When I reconnected main board the voltage increased to 380.
Jose Medrano thank you for watching my video. I would like to commend you for your efforts in taking your tv this far. I would like for you to look at my video on repairing LG TVs. The two brands are built on different concepts. I am open to learn also if you figure out similarities in the two. Please keep me informed of your progress. I think I have parts for your tv that as not been listed yet. Thank you for contacting me - let’s fix that tv!
When repairing. Do you ground yourself? If so, what method do you use
No I do not ground myself - not necessary.
I unplugged my set then held the power button for about 20 seconds. I know that's a suggestion when working on a laptop for instance. Unsure if necessary but I did it just in case. I know some capacitors will retain electricity in them. Doesnt seem like it would hurt too bad but I dont like pain so much I've been zapped by a straight hot current coming from the breaker box before. THAT does hurt! A LOT! JS
Good luck and have fun with your repair job... I love it when I'm able to make something work again. So empowering! Peace
