@Shhhhh If you get stopped by immigration and can’t prove that you’re in the country legally, they’ll detain you in a jail-like facility until things get worked out. (Could be days or months). Then you get deported.

So glad y’all didn’t listen to the fear!! I’m planning to move to Mexico in September and everyone has tried to scare me off saying it’s dangerous!! But I am decided and I can’t wait to explore this beautiful country!!
@@martinalfaro1317 well I don't know if that's true. Some countries are obviously more dangerous when it comes to the murder rates and violent crime etc
I’m watching this a year later, but wanted to thank you for showing the beauty of Mexico, the interior and Baja of Mexico is amazing and the people are gracious and lovely! I’m sorry for their troubles, mainly in the border areas, but you both have such an amazing capacity for showing everyone the best of the countries and the folks who live there, it is completely heart warming!
I went to Tijuana by myself in November '21 and a lot of people also tried to warn me that it was dangerous and talk me out of it. Imo, you have to use your best judgement, no matter where you are. I had a great time and I'm excited to get to see more of Baja California through your travels. I hope I can go back sometime soon
And the last time I went to Tijuana I got kidnapped by the police & held for 4 hours while they went shopping on my credit card. Then they dumped me at 10:30 pm in a bad neighborhood miles from the border without any money or a cellphone! Bad things do happen in Mexico! That doesn’t mean Mexico isn’t an amazing place full of friendly nice people. But the beauty & abundance of nice people doesn’t mean that there aren’t evil or desperate people there. There are. So you’ve got to be smart about where & when you go. But those cops “arrested” me in broad daylight 50 yards from the border crossing. The #1 lesson I learned was never go there alone. BTW, I told the USA border guard what happened & his response was it happens all the time!!!
@@joelhansen7373 sorry that happened to you. It's as I said, you have to use your best judgement anywhere in the world and unfortunately bad things happen every day, everywhere. I spent several days in TJ completely alone and had no trouble whatsoever, but I was careful.
You don't have any problems at all, its not about traveling smart, as long as you don't mess with cartels they don't mess with you.... Its like any other country, if you go to the US your not going there to visit East L.A or the Bronks, its the same in Mexico
"As long as you travel smart" so it’s in fact not as safe as any other destination. I wouldn’t avoid Mexico per say, but I would acknowledge that’s it can be dangerous. Burying your head in the sand don’t make the problems go pouf.
@@thierryfaquet7405 Have you been to Mexico? so you don't go to a country to travel their most dangerous city, I wouldn't go to the US to visit East LA for example. It is very safe, by traveling smart I think he meant just like any other country, I wouldn't travel at night or do anything shady , other than that Mexico is a very safe country.
@@stephenfgdl avoiding the dangerous part doesn’t make it "safe", that’s whY you avoid the dangerous part… My point isn’t that people shouldn’t go to Mexico, but to acknowledge where the danger are and plan accordingly. Something you just don’t have to do in a safe country without huge crime areas. And comparing LA to Mexico is clearly retarded… They are a few shady spot in every big cities, it’s on a whole different level in Mexico tho, with huge areas where 2 tourists in a van would just end up dead. Not the whole country is a mess, but the danger is on such a higher level its just dumb to compare it to driving into east LA
My friends are getting ready to move to Mexico and my mom instantly panicked thinking about how scary it is. I've been to Central and South America as well as India. People are always so concerned but as long as you're smart and stay aware it's no worse than being in the US!
Thank you so much for keeping your content SO family friendly! My 10 year old daughter LOVES watching your videos. And while I still pre watch the videos, I don’t really feel like I have to anymore. We have started from the beginning again so she can watch all your travels!

Hope you guys have an amazing time in Mexico 🇲🇽!!! Don’t let the comments of Mexico being unsafe get to you but also, don’t forget to stay aware and stay in touristy areas.
@@livableincome I disagree. Research shows most crime that happens in Mexico is between Mexicans in non touristy cities. Tourism brings in the most money for the country, so they try to protect touristy areas the best. I’ve traveled Mexico 4 times and honestly felt safer there than I do in the states.
@@ashtonclark4039 My experience was we were safer away from fellow tourists as many behave badly and think they can do anything they want away from home. Wild drunken morons. If you look at crime reports, Cancun is notorious and Acapulco was extremely dangerous when we were researching where to go. Even Mexicans avoided it. Maybe things have changed there, I don't know. By the way, the only time I got food poisoning is when we visited a lavish resort in Mazatlan for one of those silly time share lectures. And I found it really offensive they made it like a racist gated community and locals weren't allowed in. What is the point of travel if you don't meet the locals and get to know them?
@I AM Where is here? If you are in the States, you must know how dangerous it is to Latin Americans. I refused to live there because I would not let my son be subjected to that level of racism, descrimination and violence. Here in Canada, things could still get bad, but far more subtle than the states. It is pretty darn bad for Indigenous to here folks though. Why does everywhere have to be so dangerous if you are even slightly brown skinned? May karma prevail.
@@livableincome I don’t know where you lived in the US but when I was there it was only dangerous in the neighborhoods where one lived. Out and about it was fine for us. Crime statistics show that as you put it “brown people” are more likely to be violently attacked by other “brown people” (your words). The lighter skinned people were also more likely to be violently attacked by “brown people” (your words) so I do not know what you’re talking about other than apparently you like many just regurgitating the nonsense being peddled by state run Pravda media in the US. Such a shame…
Love the start of the video with rise & shine stretch with background of beautiful wind horse player flags. Great people with full of smiles even under difficult times.
I live on the border so, while I say have fun and enjoy, always just remember to be cautious and careful over there. There are so many wonderful people in Mexico and the culture is amazing but Mexico has its cons as well. If you just keep that in mind you'll be fine. Enjoy!
It is a matter of treating it like any other country, being smart, being aware, being kind, and as they always do, smiling a lot. Mexico is an amazing mix and after living here for 4 years I can honestly say we haven't been scared or threatened yet. Not like Oakland where we did move from. Everyone should be cautious. Common sense is your best friend

I did a month long trip to Mexico to visit friends and everyone tried to scare me into not going too. It was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.
Hoping you have a blessed adventure! Also, just a helpful FYI - the higher gas prices are not helping support Ukraine; in fact we are getting a huge percentage of our oil from Russia, so it is going to their coffers. The best way to support Ukraine is direct charitable contributions to charities working directly with the citizenry.
Currently in nursing school can’t wait to finish so that I can travel the world like y’all. This will be my life full of adventures and love. ✨💖 y’all are truly the best!!
The gas prices have pretty much nothing to do with Russia (or supporting Ukraine). The United States receives minimal oil from Russia in comparison to other sources and gas prices were on the rise before the Russian invasion……

@@GenXtothe7thPower Mexico 🇲🇽 I believe is ranked as the most violent country in the world 🌎. All the nice words and tacos don’t change that . I believe statistics say your more likely to be robbed , beaten or killed . More than any , anyplace on earth 🌎.
The ultimate result of corruption galore, rampant narcotics trafficking, and an almost lawless land .
To add to the whole dangerous mess, if your not a citizen of Mexico 🇲🇽, and you get in trouble …. You basically have almost zero rights .
I believe 50,000 people a year are date rape /robbery drugged . Mostly tourists , visitors and foreigners … I don’t make this up . I read it , learn it … so I don’t end up in frightening scary dangerous places with my family ! Thanks
Watching an episode of Kara and Nate is like eating a whole Hershey bar, sweet and so satisfying! Y'all are just too cute!

Mexico is beautiful all around - great people, amazing cities/pueblas, mouth watering food. Why did we leave again lol... glad that your time in Mexico via van life has been great so far. I’m actually also living in Mexico at the time, we came back after 3 years of living in the USA and being returned for major visa renewal problems but I’m just thankful for you guys that you are enjoying other cultures and making the best out of it! Thank you so much for making my days better, it would never be the same without you making other people happy! That’s what it is all about right?

@Shhhhh If you get stopped by immigration and can’t prove that you’re in the country legally, they’ll detain you in a jail-like facility until things get worked out. (Could be days or months). Then you get deported.
@Spring Is Coming 🇺🇸 oh, as if the US is far superior with their immigration policies? Filthy America
@Shhhhh They stop you to try and extort money from you or make you go back to the border.
@Shhhhh you bribe with money 😂
@Shhhhh Actually I've never heard that they put you in a jail like facility, If you are flying Immigrations will charge you a penalty fee and give you new FFM form. I've never heard them deporting you for this, I have heard they fine you though.
I heard you guys mention retirement, and wanted to let you know I think the vast majority of your fans would understand! I mean what else could you guys possibly do that you haven't already? Don’t worry you just need to be alert but my Mexico is so perfect and different. Don’t let anyone scare you of going somewhere, just ask the locals. Enjoy your trip in Mexico! ❤️
That's so true. Mexico is amazing, you just have to be smart and use your common sense. But that goes for travelling anywhere
Wow, I'll say that winery had availability! So glad that you made it and most importantly it looks like you got the coveted 180 days on your tourist visa! I would recommend you pick up a bottle of Microdyn (sold at all grocery stores) which is a sanitizing wash for fruits/vegetables used commonly in Mexico. Congrats and safe travels / surfing!

I think it’s because the news stories over here are mostly about murders and such. Like we really don’t get anything good.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful parts of Mexico!! I grew up in San Diego with the majority of my family in Mexico, I always felt that Mexico was extremely underrated because everyone seemed scared to travel there. It's great to see content highlighting its good side :) p.s. love your videos!
Have the best time! Glad you're experiencing Mexico's beauty. Stick to the more touristy regions and you'll be fine.
Glad for you! I have traveled in Mexico (all over by car) twice, and many times to Baja California (mostly Tecate and Ensenada). The last big trip all over Mexico was in 1968 for the Olympics as a spectator with my parents. The last time to Yucatan was via a cruise and was about 11 years ago. I enjoy Mexico. Glad you are well, happy and are enjoying your new sport of surfing!

So glad y’all didn’t listen to the fear!! I’m planning to move to Mexico in September and everyone has tried to scare me off saying it’s dangerous!! But I am decided and I can’t wait to explore this beautiful country!!
It's still dangerous though...
@@jj-if6it everywhere in the world is dangerous
@@martinalfaro1317 well I don't know if that's true. Some countries are obviously more dangerous when it comes to the murder rates and violent crime etc
@@MrEditerishere sorry what?
We've been to Mexico and have a lot of friends there. Few things ever happened to them. Don't let fear control your life ;-)
I’m watching this a year later, but wanted to thank you for showing the beauty of Mexico, the interior and Baja of Mexico is amazing and the people are gracious and lovely!
I was laughing when Kara said she didn’t know it was about to start raining as the rain clouds were literally pouring in. I LOVE HER!!!!!!

Mexico is as safe as any other destination as long as you travel smart. I've been twice and did not encounter any problems either times. Have fun!
@@stephenfgdl avoiding the dangerous part doesn’t make it "safe", that’s whY you avoid the dangerous part…
My point isn’t that people shouldn’t go to Mexico, but to acknowledge where the danger are and plan accordingly.
@@stephenfgdl How is it same as any other country? We dont have cartels roaming around in our countries.
My friends are getting ready to move to Mexico and my mom instantly panicked thinking about how scary it is. I've been to Central and South America as well as India. People are always so concerned but as long as you're smart and stay aware it's no worse than being in the US!

Hope you guys have an amazing time in Mexico 🇲🇽!!! Don’t let the comments of Mexico being unsafe get to you but also, don’t forget to stay aware and stay in touristy areas.
I think staying away from touristy areas is safer. Cacun and Acapulco have bad raps.
I enjoy the good vibes the two of you have. You get along together so well.

The gas prices have pretty much nothing to do with Russia (or supporting Ukraine). The United States receives minimal oil from Russia in comparison to other sources and gas prices were on the rise before the Russian invasion……
