Nate and I always call our Baja road trip “the pinnacle of van life” 🥹 It’s one of our favorite series we’ve ever made, so we decided to compile it all into one big “vlogumentary” 2 years later. We’ve had a pet praying mantis in the house for the last week or so, he hangs out in my house plants, and I found him wandering around when I started watching this. I put him on my lap next to my phone and he was absolutely enthralled with watching. He loved the drone shots, ocean shots, tried hunting the wild horses across the screen, tried punching your hands in the pov shots, and got a bit too excited when Kara was filling the fridge in a sped up clip and fell off my phone😂 he watched the whole video and loved it. Bugs love UA-cam too🤷♀️
Just want to say I'm proud of you guys for putting your life first, before your UA-cam consistency. I hope things go well for Kara, and you continue to take the time you need despite it being so different than what you've done in the past. Tourists: FMM OFFICE IN TIJUANA: It's on the right lanes as you enter, get over there or drive in on the right lanes. You park and go into office and pay bank or if you got in advance from Baja bound then you just go get it stamped, take the receipt if you paid online to show them. . Next, keep right and you will see sign says playas de Tijuana/Rosarito Hwy1 keep right, if blocked go straight and the line is on the next right, stay on that right lane, then it goes to Playas Tijuana toll road Hwy 1. Got it? . look at other videos.
I’m really grateful for your channel. I could never travel like you two do. I’m a home body and I love my alone time. So I really appreciate getting to see the world with you two. You always give us just enough information about where and what your doing. Plus the way you guys interact with each other is just the cherry on top and makes you guys the complete package. I'm not sure if this will reach you two, but I'm going to say it anyways. My daughter just turned one and we go out twice a day and I've been trying to teach her to walk, so I'm always on the move. I love every moment with her, but I also need my own time. In my own time I'm on UA-cam and I just really wanted to say the calmness you two make me feel. I've been watching for years. I gotta say a positive Mexico experience. I'm from San Diego, so Tijuana's our closes international destination. When I was in college (to be fair, that was quite a few years ago, ahem), a girlfriend and I were broke but wanted to do *something* for spring break. We headed to Mexico with a tent and ended up tent camping at a gorgeous park - this was strange behavior to the park managers, so they'd left their dog with us overnight. It was such a nice gesture.
Hi you two. Thank you for a great video. Hiccups... I'm 70 and found something that works EVERY TIME QUICKLY. Take very long, slow deep breaths. Hiccups are a spasm. Like those dang leg spasms, stretching the muscle is the best solution. SOOOOOO, breath so deeply the tummy looks and feels distended and really stretched. Then, breath it out slowly. You may get a few more hiccups, but within say five repeats, the hiccups will be gone... or at least they do for me. Just stretch that diaphragm slowly and let it out slowly. I love how you two have done the ultimate key to success practice, "Find what you really love to do and figure out how to make a living at that. You did. You have. And.... 3.9M love watching you both do it. You demonstrate such deep, committed, loving compassion, care and dedication one to another. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Ahhh.....okay, wihtout reading the comments, I thought that you had made a NEW trip, and then every so often, I was having Deja Vu thinking that I had seen things before. It didn't really HIT me until the scene on the beach with the vendors....so then I read the comments...and here we are! Still loved watching this again.

I've watched the two of you for years.....at least 5 or 6. I lost track when I started watching most of the people I use to follow on facebook, on UA-cam on my TV. Somehow I never checked to see if you were on UA-cam 🤔 and your videos stopped showing up on Facebook. Long story short, you showed up in my suggested videos on UA-cam with this video of your van trip to Baja Mexico. This has got to be the best video you've done. I always enjoyed the little bit you did share but they were always so. Just when it was getting good it would abruptly end. I'm do glad to have found you again. Thank you for helping to make my "golden years" filled with fun adventures. The love you two have for each other is palpable. Praying God blesses you every mile of you journey. ❤
I'm not crying, YOU are crying....ha ha, brought a tear to my eyes...Love the memories that you have made, AND that you have a video to look back at over the years and think "Man, we have done a TON of stuff. I'm always the photographer/videographer in my family and always the one to print out photos and share, or put together a photo collage to give to others so that they too can remember. (or maybe my memory just isn't that good, but I digress) this reminds me of the time me, my mom and my aunt drove from Matamoros MX (Border town in Texas) all the way down to Oaxaca MX. We encountered those same mountains with boulders, and then a little while later lush green areas, such a diverse country AND the wonderful people we met along the way. They told us too, not to drive at night, but it was because of the Bandito's in the mountainous areas, (two women with a small boy, driving along!) Anyway, thanks for sharing your adventure (again) with us, brought back many memories for me too...

One of my favorite memories of all time was a 10 day trip with my dad through Baja visiting dozens of different missions along the way. Lots of great memories flooding back watching this one! 😊
This was one of my favorite series as well, but my favorite video this year was watching Kara cry in her chicken alfredo once rona was over. I hope you guys are doing better, adjusting to the meds, and feeling better. The travel vids can wait. The new couple on Faredrop are fantastic

Aw man :) I’ve had a tough 3 years and I was lucky enough to travel recently. I had no will to live, life meant nothing to me, and I was void of gratitude. I had hit rock bottom. But recently I was blessed enough to travel. I lived in Canada for a couple of months and then decided to backpack Colombia and a bit of Mexico. That season of my life was the most beautiful and helped me realise how privileged I am. It slapped me in the face with realisation at how much I should be grateful for. Through travelling I rediscovered what life meant to me, and now I can say so proudly I am so so so happy to be alive. I want to be alive and I can’t wait to explore more of the world. I just turned 21 and I’m back home in New Zealand now. Although travelling is on pause for now while I focus on finishing my degree, I now have something to look forward to. LIFE is so beautiful and there are so many places to see, people to meet, and life to live. Thank you for this video. Seeing Mexico and hearing the locals through this video made me so reminiscent of my time in Mexico :) gracias por este video :) thank you for your channel ! I love you guys :) thank you for letting me relive Mexico through you guys and obviously for letting me see the world I have yet to explore. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 un abrazo 🫂

It’s 1:30am where I am, I clicked this video about 30 mins ago. I loved this series, but in my half asleep state I’ve been sitting here watching it having the most profound Deja vu. I literally thought I was losing my mind, I was like I’ve seen this before.. and I kept checking when this video was posted & it kept saying 14 hours ago. I just now seen Kara and Nate’s comment❤😂 I’m glad I’m not losing my mind. But I’m very happy to be watching it again ❤❤
Use Joy dish soap to take a salt water bath. The Joy prevents salt from sticking. Another good hack is a 3 gallon garden sprayer gets toasty in sunshine. Salt water bath, garden sprayer rinse. Those three gallons should last for 2-3 showers each!
Love this Vlogumentary, it is fun to re-watch older footage and getting to spend an entire one and a half hours doing so is the icing on the cake. I could defiantly handle more of these.
I used to hold my breath to cure the hiccups (unsuccessfully). Learned a genius trick. Take multiple SIPS of water back to back. Do not take big drinks. Tiny sips. As many as you can handle at a time. Works every time for me. Thanks Bunnie Xo!

Baja is probably by far the safest area of Mexico for tourists doing their own thing, along with much of the south of the country. It's the inland areas where the cartels are much more active that can be dangerous, but if you follow the advice of other travel vloggers and stick to the main routes through those areas you're generally OK as there's normally a high police presence on main roads.

I just watched an exposure video about the scammy background of AG1. I suppose my comment will be deleted rather than allowing an open discussion about what's wrong with the advertising system on UA-cam. I also wish UA-camrs would put more effort into researching what they chill. It's not all about money, you should also take the ethics of a product into consideration. Other than that, lovely video.
I think the problem is that most companies that use UA-camrs to promote their products have sketchy backgrounds. For example, BetterHelp, AirUp, Factor and HelloFresh. They are all super high priced and have questionable environmental standards. In the case of BetterHelp, there are data security issues and the fact that they profit from vulnerable people.
When I decided to quit my job, sell my house and move to South America you should have heard the naysayers, it’s so dangerous, are you sure, I wouldn’t do it people! 😅 It was the best decision I’ve made in my fifty years of life. Nothing but amazing experiences. ❤

To Nate's question: Sea salt maintains the skin's natural barrier, helping to keep moisture locked in. So using soap when you've been out in the salty sea water is a great way to keep your skin hydrated.

I've probably watched about 10 of your videos.. mostly of you guys staying at extremely exclusive places, but 20 minutes into this one and if i was to be jealous of an experience you guys had.. its this one.
Oh so much to say. You guys take on so many challenges and because you make it look so easy and fun , it doesn't seem like your doing something hard or that is out of your comfort zone. *** I love the simple food that kara makes, it's fresh and healthy and that's how I eat. Lastly , you guys always seem the most happiest when you're in the van traveling in the van or at the beach. I Know you always run into complications , but you just seem so happy.
What a recognizable video, we have driven our camper from Canada to Chile and just seeing you cross the border in Tijuana was a trip down memory lane. Also the parking lot for the FMM is super unclear if you do not know. Last thing about all the messages you got about how unsafe Mexico is. The funny thing is that in every country from the USA to Panama people tell you that the country south from them is super unsafe. But we have never been in an unsafe situation and in all the countries people are so helpful and friendly. Always trust your gut and know that there are good and bad people everywhere in the world ❤

What a wonderful thing to see when you stopped at Santispac. Back in the late 90's my dad would winter at that beach, so me & my sisters decided we needed to go see where he was going every winter and took a trip. This brings back such fun memories of the funny adventures we had. That is also where we went for the Y2K new years eve event, a lovely remote beach, it was terrific! Thanks for the memories K&N.

I've watched the two of you for years.....at least 5 or 6. I lost track when I started watching most of the people I use to follow on facebook, on UA-cam on my TV. Somehow I never checked to see if you were on UA-cam 🤔 and your videos stopped showing up on Facebook. Long story short, you showed up in my suggested videos on UA-cam with this video of your van trip to Baja Mexico. This has got to be the best video you've done. I always enjoyed the little bit you did share but they were always so. Just when it was getting good it would abruptly end. I'm do glad to have found you again. Thank you for helping to make my "golden years" filled with fun adventures. The love you two have for each other is palpable. Praying God blesses you every mile of you journey. ❤

I'm not crying, YOU are crying....ha ha, brought a tear to my eyes...Love the memories that you have made, AND that you have a video to look back at over the years and think "Man, we have done a TON of stuff. I'm always the photographer/videographer in my family and always the one to print out photos and share, or put together a photo collage to give to others so that they too can remember. (or maybe my memory just isn't that good, but I digress) this reminds me of the time me, my mom and my aunt drove from Matamoros MX (Border town in Texas) all the way down to Oaxaca MX. We encountered those same mountains with boulders, and then a little while later lush green areas, such a diverse country AND the wonderful people we met along the way. They told us too, not to drive at night, but it was because of the Bandito's in the mountainous areas, (two women with a small boy, driving along!) Anyway, thanks for sharing your adventure (again) with us, brought back many memories for me too...

One of my favorite memories of all time was a 10 day trip with my dad through Baja visiting dozens of different missions along the way. Lots of great memories flooding back watching this one! 😊

Aw man :) I’ve had a tough 3 years and I was lucky enough to travel recently. I had no will to live, life meant nothing to me, and I was void of gratitude. I had hit rock bottom. But recently I was blessed enough to travel. I lived in Canada for a couple of months and then decided to backpack Colombia and a bit of Mexico. That season of my life was the most beautiful and helped me realise how privileged I am. It slapped me in the face with realisation at how much I should be grateful for. Through travelling I rediscovered what life meant to me, and now I can say so proudly I am so so so happy to be alive. I want to be alive and I can’t wait to explore more of the world. I just turned 21 and I’m back home in New Zealand now. Although travelling is on pause for now while I focus on finishing my degree, I now have something to look forward to. LIFE is so beautiful and there are so many places to see, people to meet, and life to live. Thank you for this video. Seeing Mexico and hearing the locals through this video made me so reminiscent of my time in Mexico :) gracias por este video :) thank you for your channel ! I love you guys :) thank you for letting me relive Mexico through you guys and obviously for letting me see the world I have yet to explore. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 un abrazo 🫂

It’s 1:30am where I am, I clicked this video about 30 mins ago. I loved this series, but in my half asleep state I’ve been sitting here watching it having the most profound Deja vu. I literally thought I was losing my mind, I was like I’ve seen this before.. and I kept checking when this video was posted & it kept saying 14 hours ago. I just now seen Kara and Nate’s comment❤😂 I’m glad I’m not losing my mind. But I’m very happy to be watching it again ❤❤

Use Joy dish soap to take a salt water bath. The Joy prevents salt from sticking. Another good hack is a 3 gallon garden sprayer gets toasty in sunshine. Salt water bath, garden sprayer rinse. Those three gallons should last for 2-3 showers each!

Baja is probably by far the safest area of Mexico for tourists doing their own thing, along with much of the south of the country. It's the inland areas where the cartels are much more active that can be dangerous, but if you follow the advice of other travel vloggers and stick to the main routes through those areas you're generally OK as there's normally a high police presence on main roads.

I just watched an exposure video about the scammy background of AG1. I suppose my comment will be deleted rather than allowing an open discussion about what's wrong with the advertising system on UA-cam. I also wish UA-camrs would put more effort into researching what they chill. It's not all about money, you should also take the ethics of a product into consideration. Other than that, lovely video.

I came to find a comment regarding AG1. Love Kara and Nate’s content but the AG1 issue is an issue.
I think the problem is that most companies that use UA-camrs to promote their products have sketchy backgrounds. For example, BetterHelp, AirUp, Factor and HelloFresh. They are all super high priced and have questionable environmental standards. In the case of BetterHelp, there are data security issues and the fact that they profit from vulnerable people.

To Nate's question: Sea salt maintains the skin's natural barrier, helping to keep moisture locked in. So using soap when you've been out in the salty sea water is a great way to keep your skin hydrated.

What a recognizable video, we have driven our camper from Canada to Chile and just seeing you cross the border in Tijuana was a trip down memory lane. Also the parking lot for the FMM is super unclear if you do not know. Last thing about all the messages you got about how unsafe Mexico is. The funny thing is that in every country from the USA to Panama people tell you that the country south from them is super unsafe. But we have never been in an unsafe situation and in all the countries people are so helpful and friendly. Always trust your gut and know that there are good and bad people everywhere in the world ❤

What a wonderful thing to see when you stopped at Santispac. Back in the late 90's my dad would winter at that beach, so me & my sisters decided we needed to go see where he was going every winter and took a trip. This brings back such fun memories of the funny adventures we had. That is also where we went for the Y2K new years eve event, a lovely remote beach, it was terrific! Thanks for the memories K&N.
