I really like the new format, however I do have one critique about it. I really do miss interviews with chefs/owners that are responsible for preparation of food. A short small interview to describe the place, the food, etc would be a nice thing to have.
Some of the things I loved the most about “Worth It” are not present in travel season… Listening to the chefs/owners, having Andrew and Steven comment on the food and what they like about it… I also find the voice overs on the b-rolls a bit too much. Would love to listen to Andrew and Steven talk to each other more, let their dynamic shine through. So far, Travel Season has a lot of potential but doesn’t seem to use it to its best… Let’s see how the next episodes go!
The food was the star/ theme of the episode, but the hosts never described any of the meals in any detail at all. Am I confused about the point of the show? Andrew had a corn latte, something that I (an American) had never heard of before and was very intrigued by, and he DIDN'T GIVE A SINGLE COMMENT ON IT! Was it good? Was it bad? Who knows! Certainly not the audience because he drank it and didn't say anything about the taste, flavors, or the combo of coffee and corn. I... what??
@@addy5572i don’t think that’s the point he was making. This show can’t do things that buzFeed did for obvious reasons. But buzzfeed doesn’t have a patent on describing the food they’re eating, like they used to do on their worth it show. It seems like they’re unable to recreate the scripting, audio and production that buzzfeed used to provide. I’m thinking that they’re taking more of a center role and it’s kind of wearing them thin, because even their energy isn’t what it was from worth it
In a past interview, they mentioned that when they don’t really touch on an item they ate or drank, they didn’t like it. They don’t want to openly come out and say they don’t like it, because that’s rude. Especially, since liking food and drink can be very personal and unique to everyone. Just my thoughts!
@@hollyalldridge9144 thank you for your comment and perspective! However, in my opinion, not commenting on several dishes in a food/travel show is simply not practical. Like, that's sweet of them, but how the food tastes is a big part of a food show, good or bad. And even if they don't like it, they can still describe the dish in a neutral way, i.e. 'the corn was flavor was sweet, and very strong'. The show seems to be more about Steven and Andrew themselves, and less about food/travel, which isn't what I'm looking for in a show of this genre. But I also have not seen ep 2 yet.
I loved the Worth it series and I had really high hopes on this show. I know you guys are probably still figuring things out, but I felt like this could've been more focused on the food and the chefs. The stuff you guys say on the spot and in the moment are still more engaging to me. Still though, its nice to see a progression on this format and hopefully things get hammered out in the future.
I love the cinematography. But I feel like the show as a whole is missing things. I wished there was more input from the locals, either through more interviews with the chef or staff, or maybe have a local share the meal with you. Also the commentary when you try the food doesn’t give much context to the flavors that are going on with the dish. I noticed Worth It and other food shows have the same issue. Not everyone is going to understand American metaphors and references. I have mixed feelings about the narration route. It feels like the personality is sucked out of the show if that makes sense… because you’re reading from a well-written script. I don’t feel immersed but that could just be my personal preference. A vlog style travel show makes it feel like I’m there traveling with friends. A great reference for a travel show is Conan O’brian’s. He interacts with locals so well and showcases the country’s culture in a very authentic way. It’s less cinematic but it feels real, not like I’m watching through a filtered lens. Emma chamberlain’s recent vlogs have a great mix of cinematography and personality. Even though she’s obviously super rich and is at the most elite events, she gives off “normal person” if that makes sense. Traveling is already too expensive as is. I don’t think it’s a great idea to make traveling seem more luxurious and unattainable with fancy cinematography and disconnected narration. I think if this show were to be successful, it needs a better balance of personality and cinematography.
Love the focus on smaller and unique places in Korea, clearly not trying to eat the most expensive things in Korea, but a wide variety of different things regardless of price. Can't wait for the rest of this season!

My dad was a long time Worth It fan, loved to watch the episodes with my mom. Sometimes it inspired him to make/try food - the poke episode singlehandedly changed our brain chemistry and we started looking for poke restaurants (Big fans! We even make our own DIY poke bowls at home.) He was excited to hear that a similar format with the crew is back. Can't wait to see more from y'all!

Bro i never expected you people will revive this show, extremely hyped for the upcoming episodes. Honestly a huge fan, have a good one and keep up the good work!
@watcher it was beautiful the whole episode, a mix of nostalgia with a modern blend, I loved the fact that the wholesome food family has reunited alongside new crew members. Huge respect and love for the effort you people are putting in the production of this show. I leave today with Hunger for more episodes of both travel season and Ghost files.
I love how from the first episode Travel Season is saying "All respect to Worth It, but we have all grown in our craft, so watch this". The "$2 vs $50" in the title makes one think "oh, they are going to carry on the concepts from worth it" and in the very end, just when they are going to say which chicken was most "worth it", they officially kill the whole worth it concept by saying "its hard to separate the enjoyment of one without the context of another. And of course an experience is so much more than any single bite of food. And in a lot of cases it's even more than the whole meal." Worth It was the chrysalis. Travel Season is the butterfly.
@curtis8080 or, oooor, hear me out..some people have just been following the show since it started and are happy to see it back with some new style. Not everything is a conspiracy. Some people are out there just trying to make some entertaining content and other people are excited for it.
Hey team, I am so happy for y'all finding your balance amidst everything....Demm the production is sick, the intro is sick....the direction is awesome.... though I stand here as an average broke yt Watcher but I gotta say... the effort is not unseen... it is kinda inspiring seeing you guys figuring it out.. All the best and all the love nd support.. Hella excited for everything tbh!!!🤩🤩🤩 All hail the watcher😜
Absolutely LOVED this for a debut episode of this season. I was anticipating a good quality food show, because the team obviously know what they're doing with that regard. I was NOT expecting this to be an earnestly high quality travel show in the way that it was. Loved the little extra trips, the flea markets, and the fun facts. Actually on par w/ Travel Man imo, which has long been my favourite travel show. Brilliantly produced and well hosted. Great job all!
So happy to see y'all back together!... Hopefully we get to see Inga's cameo here and there as well. Love seeing the dynamic of Steven + Adam + Andrew + Inga.
Their old show is one of my comfort shows. This will easily replace it! Love the brick! The old-style film is so nostalgic. Love the side quests and having Adam, Andrew, and Steven back together. Also, Travel Wishes are fantastic. It's so pure and relatable.
Super excited to see this style series return! Really enjoy watching you two, and Adam too! If I had to make a couple suggestions or critiques, I'd say... Whenever possible, bring back the interviews with chefs and/or owners of the establishments. That was always a great peak into how each unique well-oiled machine runs. Second, I think you guys could do away with most of the voice over (it sounded as though I was being read to, and didn't come across as natural). Instead, maybe in an open discussion style before you eat or while waiting for the food or something along those lines, you could talk about the foods the establishment is most known for along with what foods you'll specifically be trying.
Just want to say that i really missed this food content show and the chemistry of the food trio (steven, adam, and andrew). This channel has been my comfort go to ever since, so thank you for continuing to upload here. Hope you guys find more success in the future.
thank you for bringing back worth it!!! it was my favorite series for years and it feels good to know that you guys are reviving it again 😭😭😭 i love seeing these guys together! hoping to see more travel season!
Weird Wonderful World is my favorite series on Watcher! I love the ghost hunting, the spooky stories, and the scary video games, but Weird Wonderful World is the quintessential Ryan and Shane content that I love! It's just them doing weird stuff in weird places!
That was excellent. So great to see Andrew and Steven and Adam back for more restaurant videos, with an interesting and enjoyable new spin. Looking forward to the season.
Asking people to pay a monthly subscription so you can fucking eat fried chicken in Korea shows how entitled the whole team is, it's not a lack of ad money, it's a lack of fucking common sense
I really want to like the show, but like the others, I think I’m having a hard time understanding the new direction. What I love about Steven’s food shows, is that it’s one part educational, one part food photography, one part lighthearted banter. Like the Steven eats through Korea for 24 hours one off video. Absolutely loved it. I totally understand wanting to do something more serious, and I’ll probably keep watching the series to see where it goes. But it’s not a video I would watch over and over again like Worth It.
All these positive comments are not suspicious and don't read like bots at all. 🙃 im sure there are truly this many people curious about what camera they're using.
This was fantastic. It was wonderful to see the group back together again, eating delicious foods and exploring interesting places. Looking forward to the rest!
Despite all the hurdles and the initial reception (or lack thereof), I'm so glad y'all went with continuing this series anyway. Thank you so much! I love this series. Tbh I don't understand why people are complaining about y'all going on a trip you want and eating...that's literally what other UA-camrs do???? Anyway, so hyped for this show. As always, I love the places y'all chose and the comments. Keep the episodes long like this please!!!!
the complaint comes because they said they were broke and asked their audience to pay them money while simultaneously planning really expensive trips for their videos. people weren't just mad that they were eating and taking trips alone because they're not stupid. hope that helps.
@@kaskaskas they asked for support to *continue* making quality shows. Like many other channels (like 2nd Try and Dropout) they know they cannot continue to grow and sustain a business on the platform without additional funding. I want to see them continue and succeed, so I'm willing to pay for the content I'm consuming. Creators have a right to charge for their work.
@@kaskaskas Well, it's a business, not a charity. They have to travel to make the shows and pay their crew. I'm baffled as to why people think free content is somehow a right nowadays.
@@medukameguca8529 problem is this shit ain't quality. Watcher has never and will never crank out enough content to warrant a $5/mo subscription from me
@@addy5572 It's not about people getting upset per se, but rather about just *how* upset some are, and the fact that they've been repeating the same things for like 2½ months, despite that situation having been over for pretty much as long. They're obviously not just (ex)fans who got disappointed for a moment because they thought they'd lose content that they like, hahaha.
Loved watching the series so far on Watcher tv. Excited for the UA-cam audience to see. I love the spotlight it gives to local business and culture, this series has a lot of heart.
It seems like this series places a big emphasis on travel and enjoying the cultural significance of the food rather than on the restaurant or a specific dish. I really enjoyed watching some familiar faces in new ways! Can't wait for the next episode.
Man, i really loved the new concept of the show, trying to stay loyal to the whole "worth it" show idea with new ideas. But I miss the Steven, Andrew and Adam talking to the camera time/moments you know?? It's like they were talking to the audience. But fantastic first episode guys!! Great Work!!
i think people forget, they arent working with buzzfeed money here. budgets are not the same. the amount of crew is not the same. they dont have the same number of cameras and gear as they used to have. they have only so much time and money to spend on these episodes. either way, what they have here is fine. im not picky about "voice overs" or other complaints that people have by comparing this to buzzfeeds version. it is what it is. we are lucky to even have these 2 back together. you can either have this or nothing at all. i rather have them together in any format.
I was so excited when this series was announced because I loved Worth It and I was hoping for an upgrade especially since the team is going international. But it feels like Travel Season took all that was good about the older series and sterilized it for "TV". We barely hear from the locals about these spots let alone take to the owners/chefs. There is basically no real commentary on the food itself and the taste. Like why even go to 7/11 if all you did was say a chicken fact outside the store and just move on? The excessive use of b-roll over very scripted voiceover that just comes off unnatural. Not to sound harsh but this didn't really feel like the TV show quality that was promised if anything it was an overproduced Instagram story of a bunch of rich guys travelling. It's nice to see Andrew, Steven and Adam back together again but this format isn't working and the views reflect that. I hope you don't continue to filter comments and listen to the fans that truly do want the best for you.
I really really enjoyed this first episode. I watched the worth it series back in the day; but this blends an Anthony bourdain/worth it series together it’s a really great series guys thank you.
The comments seem awfully sunny compared to that like-to-dislike ratio. (Note: I am resubmitting this comment because I got a super weird response to this by a fellow fan acting defensive (I guess?) on Watcher's behalf? Not sure what that's about, this was literally the extent of my comment, but if that same person sees this comment again: Hi! Also, are you good?)
love love love these videos. Worth it was my comfort show on UA-cam and this just feels like the grown up version ❤ what camera are you guys using? Would love to get a digital/film style camera like that for myself
I miss "Watch It" more than I imagined. The banter between Andrew, Stephen and Adam was usually so fun to watch. I miss the conversations with the people who actually make the food but while the content is different, it's fun. Thanks!!
I always loved Worth It back in the day. Folks who immediately dismiss this show are gonna miss out on a fun ride. Good luck to you fellas, I’m Looking forward to this series!
This episode was so great! It really felt like we got to experience a lot of the culture in Seoul, and I actually enjoyed this more than Worth It. Looking forward to the subsequent episodes. Now I have to eat dinner because this made me so hungry.
It's certainly in poor taste to make claims that the business is running out of money and then to release content of the CEO flying internationally to eat expensive food for content. I respect the decision to walk back taking content off UA-cam after the backlash. I think this was a poor choice for the first content on the new platform as proof of why the new platform was necessary.
Wasn't the first new content just Ryan and Shane gaming? Because that was the next show in their season lineup. And this was the next show after that. On all the videos of the new Survival Mode season you can find comments mocking them for the low production quality and asking if this is what they meant by "television caliber" or whatever. Then the next season they release is gorgeously filmed and produced, and the comments are filled with people complaining about how much it must have cost. They can't win. I am glad they're making what they want to make, because I think over time genuine, raw enthusiasm for their subjects (Shane with history and culture, Ryan for spooky and mysterious stuff, Steven for food and connecting with people) will win out over the naysayers and soulless content generated for clicks. I hope so, anyway. (Edited for spelling. Dyslexia is a sonofa)
To this day, Andrew‘s „that‘s what they called me in high school...hot honey“ is a quote stuck in my head. “White kimchi will be my name by the end of this trip” feels full circle 😂
Hey guys, I know you had a mistep as a channel/studio, but This was really good, I do hope we get more of the chef/store owner/ shop owner's voice on the matter of the meals. I really missed andrew (and adam) and the banter between the two hosts in Worth It. I hope you guys just keep going despite the misstep and I wish you guys all the luck.

I missed this team- Steve and Andrew and Adam. So glad to see them after so long! ❤
And in a lot of cases it's even more than the whole meal."
Worth It was the chrysalis. Travel Season is the butterfly.
@@addy5572 haha, some days. But their evolution in both skill and style is fun to witness. I enjoyed the show quite a bit.
@@addy5572They're astroturfing here pretty bad so that's where most of the "overly positive" comments are coming from.
We so appreciate you!! Hope you enjoy the show!
Was this written by the watcher team lol
@@rhododendroz6802Almost certainly. 😂
FINALLY!!! Thank god you guys are back!!! Love this !!!!
"We cant afford to pay our team of editors" doesent really mesh well with flying to Korea for expensive chicken...
Glad i see this content again! i'm so happy youtube recommend me this
LETS GOOOOO been waiting for this!!! steven and andrew are one of my fave duos, so much nostalgia when i see them both with some food
It's sad to see you guys get old, i miss you both with the jolly character vibes.
THEY ARE BACKKKKKKK !!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS. Seems fresh, fun, experimental, exciting. I feel so comfortable with y'all. I aspire to have this feeling more often.
thank you for bringing back worth it!!! it was my favorite series for years and it feels good to know that you guys are reviving it again 😭😭😭 i love seeing these guys together! hoping to see more travel season!
crazy how yall really wanted us to pay for ur expensive series again 😂😭
Really enjoying this series so far! So good to see Andrew-he has such a calm vibe that's really fun to watch.
Looking forward to the rest!
the editing and overall video format IS SO GOOD... the color grading too this is a high level show
Despite all the hurdles and the initial reception (or lack thereof), I'm so glad y'all went with continuing this series anyway.
I've never gotten so hungry watching these guys eat until this episode. Everything looked delish! Looking forward for this season.
"The kind of food that makes traveling 'worth it'" I see what ya'll did there !!!!!
I love how relaxing this show is.
Guys, such a good intro. Excited for the rest of this series, but especially excited for WWW to come back 🎉🥸
I just watched a cut of an upcoming episode and it's unhinged. Hope you like it! - Katie
i think people forget, they arent working with buzzfeed money here. budgets are not the same. the amount of crew is not the same. they dont have the same number of cameras and gear as they used to have. they have only so much time and money to spend on these episodes.
either way, what they have here is fine. im not picky about "voice overs" or other complaints that people have by comparing this to buzzfeeds version. it is what it is. we are lucky to even have these 2 back together. you can either have this or nothing at all. i rather have them together in any format.
I hope you don't continue to filter comments and listen to the fans that truly do want the best for you.
this was a beautiful, cinematic, and thoughtful way to showcase the creative approaches to chicken you encountered. I very much enjoyed 10/10 >>
must be nice to get paid to go on vacation and eat $50 chicken
Congratulations on launching!
It's a wonderful episode from the most incredible of seasons and I'm so glad it's out there for everyone to see!
I’m super excited to see more episodes! Couldn’t be more thrilled to see you guys together again 💗
Wow, the intro caught me off guard 😍
Happy you guys are making this content for us and a lot of us support and love you guys. ❤
I’m so excited to see Steven Andrew and Adam eat food again 😂 Love the format of the show so far!
andrew in that black turtle neck got me acting unwise
Should we tell him to wear it more often then? lol
@@watcher if he'd be so kind 🥰 for the gays, lol
I don’t watch a lot of UA-cam, and when I did it was usually Andrew & Steven + Adam(Annie,Inga & Rie) I got emotional as soon as Andrew’s VO started 🥹
12:40 that crunch is INSANE. Great watch, love Steven and Andrew combo! more please~
Never been more excited to see you guys back together again 😄
So excited the crew is back together and I love the new direction ❤️ Excited to watch the rest of the series!!!!
The jazzy photo montage travel show title opener was so cute! I love the artsy style!
Also yay! Welcome back! I love this show! ❤
I don’t even eat chicken, I just love seeing other cultures and people enjoying it 😊
excited for the show and all the new episodes coming up!!
love love love these videos. Worth it was my comfort show on UA-cam and this just feels like the grown up version ❤ what camera are you guys using? Would love to get a digital/film style camera like that for myself
So glad you guys didn't leave UA-cam
I'm so glad you three are back together. Nothing has filled my Worth It heart. I'm glad you've done it and I'm glad its on UA-cam.
Im so happy that i can watch this trio again
Very excited for weird wonderful world to come back. The pop store was really fun!
Buckle up for season 3- the mustaches are back in full force
In all my years of watching non-asian people try to speak korean, or really any asian language, andrew truly does sit at the top as one of the best
Yussss, the orginal dream team! So good to see Andrew, Steven and Adam together again 🥰
Are you telling me it’s similar? 😅
Thanks for checking it out :)
@@thatgirl9532 obviously
You're back!!!!!!! Did not know till just now!
This episode was so great! It really felt like we got to experience a lot of the culture in Seoul, and I actually enjoyed this more than Worth It. Looking forward to the subsequent episodes. Now I have to eat dinner because this made me so hungry.
This feels like watching a high quality TV-show - I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
I'm obsessed with their dynamic and I'm looking forward to me. This is also a very pleasant format.
Food content isn't my vibe but I'm glad that you guys are still posting content here on youtube
So glad to have you guys back doing this kind of show!
Finally, the boys are back in (korea)town. The production value on this is insane❤
Annie was my favorite member of the worth it team, glad to see she's still on the road with you guys!
I've been watching worth it for the longest time! When I was still in school me and my mom would watch ALL of the videos made of it 😆 I've always loved Steven, Andrews, and Adam's dynamic so much, and am so excited to see the beginning Travel Season and where it goes! It looks great so far :D loving all the watcher personalities
Thanks for being an OG! Hope you like the new direction for Travel Season!
Unsolved and Worth It are the two series that got me through college days. I'm glad to just see all of you got together again. Goodluck on the upcoming journey guys!!
I've already watched (ha) this, but I'll happily watch it again here on youtube. It's just so relaxing (and it makes me so hungry oh god). How did the guys manage not to be sick of chicken by the end of this?
This series seems like it was recorded last winter, while I was still in Korea to finish my undergraduate degree. I've been an avid fan of Worth It from their season 1. To think that I was in the same country where my favorite show was made is wonderful. What's more, I get to relive my memory of South Korea, which I am so fond of ❤❤❤
This is unreal, I’m so glad y’all are here! ❤️
