personally prefer the editing style of travel season over your prior work on worth it, love to see the personal choices in filming and editing from you and the crew shine through! it makes the episodes more personable and gives them character. i have been enjoying the past few episodes and i definitely want to see the direction travel season is going into the further it goes along. love the crew interactions in the episodes as well, and i hope there's going to be a bit more inclusion of that in the future! feels like combination of carefully picked restaurants / dining spots / food on location and group dynamic on screen - to the extent everyone is comfortable with of course - is where the sweet spot lies for me as a viewer! keep going, can't wait to see more!
He went from "Are you less than your father"
to
"scallop comes in shells?"
T.T
The duality of Lim.
I love the little Korean word lessons and cultural lessons in this video. It’s really formal and easy to digest. Also the name and description of the food was nice
The one time Steven was able to deliver and land an existential crisis question on Andrew where even Andrew was taken back.
this video is a good warm hug in the night before dozing off to sleep type of feeling, the music, the color, the antics.
As a Korean, this is not your typical Korean food. It feels very fancy fusion style. I don't know who introduced this Korean food, but for almost all Koreans think this is probably their first time seeing this style of Korean food.
Maybe someone recommended this food because then people that have traveled to Korea before and even people that live in Korea would be seeing something new.
I was thinking the same thing.... I lived in Korea for 18 months and none of the places my Korean friends took me to served anything like this. Where is the Jokpal with the mokoli or 소맥 with fried chicken?! This is the tourist trap places in Korea and not close to the real thing 😢
they're probably trying to set themselves apart from other food vloggers. i love that they're putting their budget to good use tbh, showing unique stuff Korea has to offer.
Same! As a Korean, this all feels insanely touristy, hipster, and expensive. Like who tf cares about another chicken video, or some luxury ass Korean places. There are so many local Korean shops and smaller towns they could visit. Gyeongsangdo, Gangwon, etc
@@johnlee9042 the small family ones usually have the best food too
I love watching travel food videos, I’ve watched them almost every day after work for years, and in my experience they usually go like this: “Next they brought us this big bowl of noodles, and guys, the whole thing only cost 2 US dollars. Look how pretty it is. Ok, let’s try it. *slurping noises* It’s really salty but I love the egg flavor. I would definitely recommend trying it with some of these spicy peppers. Next we got-“ and then they move on. Try the food, comment on it, and move on. I love that genre of video, it’s a whole vibe, but to me Travel Season goes above and beyond. I know some people are saying they miss the worth it format and that’s super valid but I personally like the change, it stands out from other UA-cam food videos by sharing little bites of the trip-abroad-with-friends-adventure with each video. I really hope they make another season, because I can’t wait to see where they go next!
Exactly, there are a lot of shows reviewing food. What we needed was this.
couldn't agree more. I'm finding this season really boring and monotone.
This is so them. So special.
I enjoyed Worth It. But my favorite thing Steven Lim ever did was Dish Granted. It was ao thoughtful and insightful. Sometimes it didn't land the mark cause he wanted to elavate/ make it fancy for some guest. But seriously it was wonderful seeingbhime donthe research, talking to experts and attempting to make it. I hope you bring it back Steven. It's truly what made me love watching you.
On another note you too always have great chemistry.
I'm glad ya'll had fun, but as a Korean, this is a really fancy version of our drinking culture. No soju tents, pochas, or young club scenes. If I had some money to drop, maybe I'd drink like this 😂
The drunked Pokemon card pulling match was so nerdy in the best way possible lol
“Are you less than your father…?”
Makgeolli is definitely not strong enough for that 😂
I love the social cultural explanation in this. Thats what foos is also about communicating and understanding culture through these somewhat overlooked interaction right. Im specifically referring to the soju part of the episode. Plus the question, “are u less than ur father” thats so funny
In Korea, you don't hangout in a bar. You go from restaurant, to bar, to cart, to food tent until you can't anymore.
Usually ending with sitting outside a convenience store.
Agree. Or until it’s 5am when McD’s starts breakfast. At least that’s what we did in gangnam all the time.
'are you less then your father' and Andrew having is mind blown was such a good interaction XD
Korea's drinking culture is the best in the world - partying culture is still big but when you go out for drinks it's all about the food first and that's always the best when you're out drinking
“I think everyone secretly wants to be a little hamster eating pellet food” 😂
this is going to permanently increase my enjoyment of tater tots lol
i love the gradual party-vibes building up throughout the rounds. it's exactly like a night out with friends, where each location brings you closer to the brink of chaos .
@@starlight1314 culminating in that karaoke spot where it all goes wild! lol
I used to watch this buzzfeed series for the food eating and now I feel like it’s 10% eating and 90% cinematography
True. It has lost it's old charm(where they actually enjoyed food instead of dramatizing/gossiping)
I love the cinematography tho 🙌🏻
This isn’t buzzfeed, it’s Watcher, so it’s different & imo awesome. Try not to compare, it’s a different series & channel.
@@amandawhite1717 yes but after buzzfeed and before this they had better vids on a channel called about to eat
@@imdamanization can you send me that link? I’m a 5 year follower & never heard of that
Getting hungover in your 30s hits differently. It’s why I don’t do it anymore. Rip to them 😂
I agree with someone who said that the cinematography’s like How I Met Your Mother. It almost feels nostalgic, like the good old days with friends except they ARE in the good old days when they filmed this. It’s like a nice video to look back to.
Yes!! You described it perfectly. I totally love their cinematography. I can feel the vibes just by watching, as if I’m hanging out with them.
Been loving this show! The editing choices have been a vibe and I’ve missed Steven & Andrew & Adam. Excited to see how this show grows.
As someone who’s studied mollusks for paleo, Steven not knowing scallops come in shell and thinking “sea shells” just appear out of nowhere is driving me insane
two things caught my attention:
- they really didn't like the acorn jelly lol
- drinking in the morning while hungover is a real pro move that not too many people know about. respect to the team
@@nomadsam9512 actually in the bts on the streamer they said the acorn jelly was one of their favorites
People don't know about that? Here in Sweden everyone does, we call it a restorer. We usually go for a fluid replacement first, though, don't want to be an alcoholic
As someone who has recently visited Korea, I know y’all had a good time. I’m not sure if it’s the backing track or script, but this seems way too serious to embody South Korea’s spirit and the spirit of the Watcher bois. Just my two cents. Good luck in your continued endeavors! 🥂
The vibes of this episode are immaculate 👌
I have truly missed this trio ❤
I will never forgive you guys for releasing this series on my last day in Seoul 😭
This has been my favourite episode so far!
I am so happy you guys are back making videos! This series has been so relaxing to watch!
S: Did you ever open those cans of corn as a kid and just chow down?
A: No.
S: Yeah you did.
A: No i didn’t…
S: …Well neither did I…
I finally realized what the intro reminds me of, it's How I Met Your Mother 😂
Damn that's actually on money
I have seen every Worth it episode and I'm here to say I like this so much more. You incorporated the whole crew into each episode consistently.
"when i was 13, my dentists was like 'you have the teeth of a 30 year old.'"
how!?😂😂
Maybe my new favorite episode so far ❤❤
Annie flexing her Pokemon card and saying ‚suck it’ 🔥😍🥰💙
I think this show is great!! The intro is so nostalgic even though it’s a new show lmaoo
the hangover workout montage was incredible
Such a great laugh - Steven with the spinning wheel just about ended me 😂🩷
"Are you less than your father?" truly iconic.
I love that as the season goes on we're familiarized with the culture more and more! Love travel season so much
Already watched on Watcher TV and just commenting for the algorithm. I’ve really enjoyed this series. Such a good comfort show. 😊
how much do you pay?
@@namirahdotpdf $6.61 USD. You get the eps faster and behind the scenes content. I also really love the app. They did good work on that. Very intuitive and aesthetically pleasing, imo. But honestly, for me, it was an easy decision. I meant to sign up for their Patreon a couple years ago but was in a much tighter place financially. I’m doing better now and support a couple other UA-cam memberships so it was an easy choice. Get why others don’t or can’t, though.
probably my favorite episode of this season, yet. wish y'all showed more of the karaoke tho lol.
The cinematography is amazing! But it seems a bit too formal. I still really want to see more of Steven, Andrew and Adam so I hope you guys listen to the criticisms and apply that to the next season / show you guys do. Rooting for you guys!
The dialogues in this episode were fantastic 😂
Missed y’all. Keep em comin.
It makes me happy yall had fun! I would really like to see yall try more specialized country food wherever you go next :) city fusion food is cool but old traditional food is more interesting to learn about (for me) i really like that yall took a kimchi class and had footage of them actually preparing the dishes !
I love seeing Andrew’s character arc over these last few years. He used to be such a cynical *** but he’s a completely different person now thanks in large part to Steven. Oop, I said it.
Wow. Love to see projection in full swing
Feels like this style was influenced by Anthony Bourdain. Love it!
I have watched your second and third episode and as a person who was a big fan of worth it, I am loving this!!!!! I was a bit wary after episode 1 but loved the last two eps!!! : ) Keep up the great work guys! Last time I watched watcher was more than a year ago, but this is bringing me back!
This episode is probably one of my favorites from the season. From the editing to the goofy nature of the boys enjoying their cha. I still always lose it during the Pokémon card part where you got Lizzie’s shocked face in the back, and then the cut off Annie saying “suck it”- it’s just fantastic!
This 😂🥰
22:55 flipping those pokemon cards is like me and my friends flipping photocards and getting excited (more like screaming) after 😂
I appreciate the artsy cinematography and storytelling, but you're not actually saying anything *about* the food other than "mmmm." This makes the viewer - someone who only HEARS and/or SEES the food - experience a very one-note video. We watch food videos because we want to experience the food by proxy.
Yeah I want more description
This season has only gotten better. Excellent editing & cinematography in this one. ❤
I remember Steven was a novice when it came to drinking back in the day. He’s come a long way!
When they mentioned hangover soup, I instantly thought of Haejang-guk. I was surprised they didnt get that instead. It was my favorite soup to eat when I was living in SoKo.
this was a fantastic video my goodness
Love Andrew and Steven's married for 30 years vibe
Steven on TMS, sober: chaos, insanity, unpredictable behavior
Steven on TS, drunk: i'll do the finger thing 🖐😃🖐
Loove it thank you guys
This is the best episode so far! love it!
노래방 is a MUST during a great night of drinking with friends in Korea
I really love the way these episodes are filmed. Beautiful shots. The cinnamon toe graphite is chef's kiss.
I loved this ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yay!! I’m so glad you guys are doing this again!! Miss the Worth It gang 🎉🎉
I love the way this video was shot. The music, the nuance...everything.
I cannot properly express how happy seeing you all back together makes me!
You guys are so good at "capturing a feeling" love it!
I would love them to go to india and try every street foods they see! Now that would be awesome!
im liking the vibe of steven, andrew and adam's videos! different from worth it but that's a good thing. it's more intimate compared to the rushed format that I kinda get from worth it. it's nice to see y'all have fun with the crew
Starts off with a DnD joke. I love it. Level 9 out of 9 joke!
This show needs more depth and elaboration. The cinematography is nice but the analysis on the food when you eat it is lacking. Comparing the first food to cereal doesn’t tell me anything. We’re basically just watching you eat food in a different country, it’s kinda boring 😭
I agree - the jokes are fun but they should have described the food more. Like Andrew's solo show used to do such a good job and it was just in his kitchen
Theyre hipsters with a fanbase, what do u expect. Theyre full of themselves it almost stinks.
Remember this is just a gloryfied vlog
They said fishy because it's seaweed, yet sweet. Then, they described it not just like breakfast cereal in general but also sweet like Cinnamon Toast Crunch is sweet.
I'd say that's more than descriptive enough to imagine the flavor. 🤷♂️
respectfully disagree - it's not just a food show, it's a travel show. this episode was about all the different types of alcohol and drinking culture in Korea, and yeah some of the food that goes with it. I liked how much inclusion of the Korean language they added! I feel like I've picked up a few Korean words from watching this series
Omg the boys are back! 🥹
The wrong boys we want the ghoul boys
I feel like this was super fancy. Would of loved to see what everyday Koreans eat out drinking! But, loved seeing Anna
This is pure gold! Again gives me nostalgic vibes!
This episode took me way back to the Korean BBQ episode of worth it when Steven got so drunk that Adam had to drive and Steven was all like “woooooo I like the way you DRIVE”
he really ate with that "Are you less than your father" line lol
I love videos with you two (and adam ;))
Hell yea poke battle right in the middle of the show 😂
Brings back so many memories from Worth It ❤️
Just stumbled upon this channel/series. I loved is it worth it. Thanks for the show
I think this episode proves that steven always should be a little drunk. He had some pretty amazing one liners in this one.
14:57 Andrew and Steven, I had Soju for the first time on July 6, 2024. It was delicious!
i really hope u guys can explore malaysia next
best episode so far for sure :)
that shell exchange is hilarious lmao
Glad to have the gang back together
This video was so fun :D
Anyone else remember the first Buzzfeed video where Steven said he never drank before? Yea, he's come along way #growth
Watching drunk Steven and Andrew is pure gold 😂
Great video guys 😎
I honestly love any show with steve and andrew no matter what theyre doing. They just have great chemistry/personalities.
Love it guys !!! Great eats & drinks !!!
Going to korean and eating all the delicious food and drinking would be so much fun
the reason koreans have so many rounds(cha) is because we don't like sitting in one place for so long. changing places(+different food, drink) refreshes the vibe and brings out more topics to talk about.
You guys should keep this going. Good series.
More please I love this comeback! ❤
Really enjoying this series! I do think more interaction with the store owners and chef would go a long way. I miss the interviews like the original Worth It episodes had, especially when you have Korean speaking producers and staff etc. That being said I’m loving everything else about the show
As wonderful as always to see you guys! Love the aesthetic, a wonderful video as always
Love these food content
Great series! I'm living vicariously through you guys
steven saying he was lvl 4-5 and andrew pretending hes surprised by that
the best couple in UA-cam history
