“how often do i get to have a genuinely new bagel experience?” is such an amazing way to interpret these international translations of our everyday western meals. we could easily react with disgust or fear of a new perspective. instead, this quote i will carry with me.
I love this format, even if I had to get used to from the Worth It style. It's just good vibes all around and Andrew has a way of describing food and food culture that is very insightful. :)
I agree about Andrew’s fresh perspective on familiar dishes such as spaghetti and meatballs - and that the pepperoni pasta 🍝 is more functional to eat!
This actually reminds me of the last season of Worth It where Andrew took over the show as Steven had already left buzzfeed… they presented worth it in a similar way to this show… and on a smaller budget compared to their earlier worth it series!
thats the only two person i love and i am sure others too. No pun intended, just truth. I wish both of them just start their own production without anyone else. They'd make a good team.
This was a brilliant idea for a video. I love seeing fusion/homage foods. I remember reading years ago about Japanese immigrants in Brazil and how they continued making their cultural dishes, but they incorporated the available local ingredients to replace those they didn’t have access to in South America. I’d love to see some videos on culinary histories like this in North America too, particularly for black American cultures like Gullah Geechee.
My son and I were avid fans of Worth It and were so disappointed when it ended. So to surprisingly come across this episode, we were both super excited. It’s great to see Andrew, Stephen, and Adam back together again. We will definitely be tuning in to watch every single episode.
I really wanna like this show, this was a cool episode idea and I liked Andrew's narration, was really enjoying the first half of the episode but this series feels lacking compared to Worth It without the chef interviews. Also what's the point of a food show if you're not going to describe the food more than "woah" and "very good"..
This is exactly what I was thinking too. For this to be such a massive, overseas production but the hosts barely talk while they're eating is odd. If there was more insight from them or an interviewee, the quality would go up significantly
@@therealJamieJoy Not really, it's got a different taste and consistency. I have to say, I haven't had it since I was a kid as I found it disgusting. I just recall it having a particular taste unlike mayo.
@@therealJamieJoy It's sweeter, more acidic and a runnier consistency than mayonnaise. Imagine mayonnaise with sugar and vinegar added. But yes, it's essentially a flavoured mayonnaise.
@@void.reality Ah, we have that in the US. It's thicker, though. It's called Miracle Whip. It's a "salad dressing" that most people use to replace mayo -- like on sandwiches and to make tuna salad.
Yeah, I will admit that I miss those too - they added a special vibe to the Worth It episodes. But I can also respect that they're trying something different!
i only love andrew would have prefer the series without steven's presence, he was so rude and vibe killing all the time. Always bossing people around like a twat and shadowing himself behind andrew.
Genuinely one of my new favorite watcher shows! Cozy vibes, amazing looking food, lovingly showcasing some of the unique culture of a place I’ll never see in real life ❤
I really love the intro. It's really wholesome and personal feeling to have the Polaroids of them being out and about at the actual places they're visiting. It feels like a really well organized food vlog scrapbook combo. I also like that they have the crew feature and aren't aggressively concerned about them or the cameras being in the shot. It feels more like you're standing there with them and that's pretty neat imo ☺️
@@JustBrandan_ worth it was pretty good especially like the last 2 seasons, after Steven left the chef guys at buzzfeed made a new channel “about to eat” and Andrew took over worth it & the budget wasn’t incredibly insane like at first
So if you fried an egg and put it on a bun, it would be an egg burger? How about a tuna mayo burger? The "burger" part of the hamburger is named after the hamburg steak from whence it derived. The first modern hamburgers are to this day being served on regular bread. Game/Set/Match
Andrew is so good at doing commentary and sharing good facts and descriptions when it comes to the flavors and textures they're experiencing, which I appreciate a lot! Love that yall still post these for your youtube fans ❤ Thank you, Watcher!
@jennae7903 good choice to come in the Fall! Agree with the above reply, and also would strongly recommend a few food spots in particular (Tosokchon for samgyetang, Pyeongando Jokbal for pigs feet, Buchon Yukhoe for Korean beef tartare). My partner and I live here and film some food content when we can - it's hard not to run into good grub all over the city 🙂
We're going to be publishing a custom map link next Friday on our blog and tumblr for the season finale of TS that will have all the restaurants and cultural stops the boys visited in Seoul!
In before "WHAT CAMERA ARE THEY USING" comments it's a Kodak Ektar H35 you can get it for like $50 on a good day or the newest version H35N for around $70 anyway my question is WHAT FILM ARE YOU USING
I just want to say, I love this series and the longer form format. Its like the natural progression from 'Worth It' as a series and as a friendship of the 3 and everyone behind the scenes.
This isn't that far off because eating western food in Japan is a similar experience. Japanese made burgers, hotdogs, fried chicken, doughnuts, ice cream, etc is a very different experience from eating the American counterparts. For one thing is that the portion sizes are actually edible. It's a quality versus quantity experience.
I just found out about this channel after rewatching and reminiscing on the last episode of Worth it. I was bit watery eyes watching the last episode but then I saw a recommendation for this video and so I clicked on it and I was fill with joy and excitement to see Andrew and Steven back. This is now my favorite show. Good to see ya again working together.
What’s interesting about the bagel place is that they’re trying to be more like a *beigel* , an Austrian variant that has a local/cult following, especially around East London. I see they even have a Brick Lane bagel/beigel on the menu! PS: The yellow sign shop is better!!
Please go to other countries too! I'd love to see other cuisines, feel like you've explored a lot of Korean food on this channel even prior to this series
As a Brit, got to say Adam couldn't be more wrong about us calling salad dressing "salad cream" - Salad Cream is a specific condiment made by Heinz and there's nothing else like it. Literally everything else we'd use to dress a salad, we call salad dressing 😐
@GingerNut1701 not being a dick when I ask this, would you say their content is worth the paywall? Is it a constant enough stream of content to justify the monthly payment?
Not even a salad cream fan but I raced to the comments to defend it!! It's a salad dressing in the same way mayo could be considered a salad dressing, it's just a condiment
I really want watchers to make an update series of the unsolved cases in their buzzfeed days. A lot of it has been solved and has advancement in it's cases.

You know what Americans call all soup? Ketchup. That's about as ridiculous a generalization as you made. The English do not call salad dressing, salad cream. They call salad cream, salad cream, because that is what one kind of condiment is called. It's a specific individual thing.
The last person that I saw with “thick rimmed glasses and a top hat” was in a bar, with his pet snake… he also claims to be a magician. At least he knows himself.
Fun to see Korea’s take on things that are common to Americans. The bagels looked so soft and not at all chewy. The tacos looked yummy and the chicken sandwich looked amazing. Wish we had taste-a-vision😂.
i honestly really like seeing how foods from other cultures get translated locally especially here in asia. this was a cool episode idea.
“how often do i get to have a genuinely new bagel experience?” is such an amazing way to interpret these international translations of our everyday western meals. we could easily react with disgust or fear of a new perspective. instead, this quote i will carry with me.

This show feels like a love letter to Anthony Bourdain in the most genuine way 💜 even just from an editing standpoint. It's really nice to see.
