Yep Chiefs were owning the AFC West with Alex Smith before Mahomes was even there. Andy Reid has a case for GOAT coach. Very well ran franchise. Mahomes obviously superior to Alex Smith, but he basically won the lottery falling to the Chiefs. Mahomes would be a high turnover prone gunslinger that would not be viewed nearly the same had he been drafted high by a bottom feeder team. He’s still extremely talented and would still be a fun player but it would be a more very high risk like a modern Favre or like Jameis Winston on the Bucs.
The AFC West really does show that the HC matters. Raiders should’ve given Bisaccia a chance, at least don’t hire a disaster like McDaniels. Chargers missed badly with Staley too, that’s a hiring that never made sense. We’ll see if Payton works out with the Broncos.

Its not about Davis giving in. This was Davis observing how completely baseless and disfunctional the offense was functiioning. The offense can be functional during a rebuilding process, the problem here was the play calling from McDaniels which was not functional with the players on the field. A coach has to adapt and use the strengths of his roster, clearly McDaniels was clueless in organizing and utilizing his roster to benefit the team. This was really evident last year, I'm suprised it took Davis this long to wake up to the reality since there was precedent with McDaniels with his job in Denver.

Yep Chiefs were owning the AFC West with Alex Smith before Mahomes was even there. Andy Reid has a case for GOAT coach. Very well ran franchise. Mahomes obviously superior to Alex Smith, but he basically won the lottery falling to the Chiefs. Mahomes would be a high turnover prone gunslinger that would not be viewed nearly the same had he been drafted high by a bottom feeder team. He’s still extremely talented and would still be a fun player but it would be a more very high risk like a modern Favre or like Jameis Winston on the Bucs.

The AFC West really does show that the HC matters. Raiders should’ve given Bisaccia a chance, at least don’t hire a disaster like McDaniels. Chargers missed badly with Staley too, that’s a hiring that never made sense. We’ll see if Payton works out with the Broncos.

They're going to tank the rest of the season to get a QB for the future. I'm not a GM or a HC but if you watch enough football (years of it in my case), and listen to successful teams, it starts at the line of scrimmage. Build your OL and DL first, then add skill position players.

Its not about Davis giving in. This was Davis observing how completely baseless and disfunctional the offense was functiioning. The offense can be functional during a rebuilding process, the problem here was the play calling from McDaniels which was not functional with the players on the field.
A coach has to adapt and use the strengths of his roster, clearly McDaniels was clueless in organizing and utilizing his roster to benefit the team. This was really evident last year, I'm suprised it took Davis this long to wake up to the reality since there was precedent with McDaniels with his job in Denver.

If you go back to the introduction press conference, Mark Davis said this is not a rebuild. I think these guys sold him on "We're not gonna do the New England way" and he took the bait.
