That last sentence hits real hard. Been a Panther fans since they played at Clemson. I hate being the 1 team out of the entire NFL that has the worst owner in the league. I can’t stand it and like he said, there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it
In regards to Jimmy Haslam, since he brought in Depodesta in 2018, he has taken a step back and has simply been the checkbook for the team. In terms of total spending per season, Cleveland leads the league in that category. The Browns since 2018 have gradually been improving even from the 4-5 win years. He gave the bag to DW because that's what the market dictated at the time. DW is 8-4 with the Browns with 14 TD 9 INTs, so it's far from a bust of a move (See Trey Lance, SF). Haslam is learning that stability is required and I do believe he will extend Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry.
False. The market did not dictate that sum, they reset the market with that sum, that's what happened. Even seriously wanting Watson was stupid, at that price point it was insane. The guy hadn't played football in nearly 2 seasons. He had a gigantic stink on him, and nobody believes he is innocent.
The panthers coach was not using his personal properly using his speedster to run mainly slant routes, zero rpo's for the QB that fest on the rpo. Not using his players strenghs in a game is a problem and on top of that someone like me watching the games hell even i could tell what the play call was and where the ball was going, thats on the coach.
18:50 - Florio making stuff up. The interim HC of the Panthers, formerly the Special Teams coach, wanted to simplify the bureaucracy on the offensive side of the ball to make communication with Bryce Young more concise and direct. He's the one who fired the two assistants.
Now it all makes sense who Aaron Rodgers was talking about earlier about people that have a platform but don't have any clue as to what they're talking about writing off at Kid and creating a narrative that nobody will want to come Coach Carolina because of Bryce is very unprofessional and disgusting he is a Kid that doesn't deserve that Mike might mean well but he's very childish and unprofessional
@@benjibarrett8347Mike is actually correct in this analysis. Unless a coach “wants” an undersized QB, its for some other quality that overcomes the possible vision problem, like in Arizona with K. Murray’s quickness. This QB will not only face constant physical punishment (these are not college players, but real MEN which will keep him off the field), but also vision problems in trying to see over defensive players. An extremely high majority of coaches will start off with their hands tied beyond their backs. After 2 years, the new coach will say he did not have a fair chance and wants to draft a replacement to do what he knows he can do. The fault is from the owner drafting him as a NUMBER 1 pick. That has major expectations.. ask Baker Mayfield.
Tepper would probably never do this but, I think they would be smart to hire Jim Cadwell since he’s already on staff. He took a team to the Super Bowl, and did a pretty good job with Detroit all things considered. Carolina might have a hard time finding a quality candidate so why not promote from within? But then again the could’ve done that last year 😂.
Football is still football, but that guy is from a completely different time and era. I'm afraid the modern game might have passed him by. Him and Dom Capers who is also on staff.
@@jonhosey551 I don't know about that. They said the same thing about Dick Vermeil when he came out of retirement to coach the St. Louis Rams, that the game had passed him by after over a decade in the TV booth. He proved everyone wrong. I'm not saying Caldwell or Capers are as good as Dick Vermeil, but the "game has passed them by" statement is often misplaced. I mean, they are still around the game and know what's changed and what hasn't.
The thing is, C.J. and Bryce are not in the same situations. The Carolina Panthers mortgaged their future for a QB leaving that QB with no viable offensive weapons and more importantly no offensive line to protect him. It's sad to see these commentators, who should understand that situation and environment are a huge factor on how these players develop, bad mouth a player that is hardly upright enough to breathe much less complete a pass. It is even more unfortunate for Young that the Panthers have zero first round picks for the next two years -- if I recall correctly -- and so in all likelihood Bryce will be out of the league without ever being enabled to play to his potential. The winning formula always has been, and always will be, to build in the trenches and then add skill players to round out and compliment the team. Every successful team in the NFL has followed this pattern, to a certain point, almost without exception. For the Carolina Panthers to be successful in the future, they need to begin at step one: build the offensive and defensive lines through the draft. The only thing you can hope for Young is that he is not shell-shocked and completely unsalvageable by the time this happens.
You make great points. Best case scenario is they build up the offensive line and put some weapons around him... by the time that's complete - 1) his rookie contract will be expired, and he'll have to be extended and - 2) it's now time to rebuild the defense. Tepper should've been patient and went after his QB next year instead of trading a bunch of picks and DJ Moore.
@@colinepps7639 Exactly. Although, I’m not against trading DJ Moore because he’s too good to remain on a team clearly no where near ready to compete for a championship. What they should have done is trade DJ for more draft capital so that they could use that to further build the team. Instead, all you have is a guy running around every play for his life and no chance of doing anything about it in the near future.
I don't think Young will be out of the league without seeing something close to his full potential. I think he'll be a viable QB. I agree that he and Stroud are in entirely different situations. Stroud has better WRs, TEs and OLs to work with than Young has and it's not even debatable. I mean night-and-day better. That's what many people who think just drafting Stroud would've solved everything don't understand.
Y’all gassing this because Tepper fired your boy. Frank is bad. I’ve yet to hear any of you state the obvious. We’ll be alright. Suck it up, you’re adults.
Sadly, for us Lions fans, WCF (I keep calling him WTF on accident) had to pass away before we got any hope. We had a DIFFERENT problem. Ford said, more than once, that as long as he was making money, he didn't CARE if the Lions were good. Shiela's great and knows that she doesn't KNOW. She's got good people making her look good. lol.
50 year Lions fan here. To be clear, Sheila was integral to setting up the organization and philosophy that netted Brad and Dan (and Disner and Ray and Spielman, etc). She may not have known it would work this well - how could she - but she got it right and deserves the label “good owner”.
Teeper pays great. It's the roster. Carolina have been declining since he took over. That will continue for some time. The risk with the Young pick was off the charts.
Frank deserved this. Regardless if its true or not about frank wanting cj and being pushed/ forced to get Bryce, at the end of the day you have a rookie qb that was projected to go high in the draft and had always been projected to go #1. After we went up, cj was projected for about a week or so and then its been bryce since. Frank intentionally tried to sabotage bryce and refused to adjust to bryces plays type even a lil bit. Clearly didnt trust him hence why he barely let bryce throw it down field, and seemingly changed the scheme to the WORST possible scheme for this team to get bryce killed but always make adam open. Tb is about to get bryce right and i hope we keep him if he gets bryce to perform at a decent level. OH and when tb was given the play calling dutie and do his JOB as OC, thats all he did... say the plays... not implement his plays for the offense to execute. Frank better not ever associate himself with this team other than its first qb ever.
Lol Frank is NOT the reason Bryce isn’t throwing it down field… They have to run shotgun just so Bryce can try to see over the line. That eliminates the run game and defenses know Bryce cant dice them up in the air…
😂 this isn’t Frank’s fault Bryce plays bad, his team trading his potential number one WR AND TRUE RB to not even better the team as a whole has made Bryce bad.Bryce can’t throw it down the field when he has a WR room that has the worst separation in the league and that’s on top of having a terrible pass defense o line. Panthers are so desperate to get better, they are probably gonna trade away brian burns, who is a player you want to actually keep. But no blame frank for inheriting a garbage team. Literally like the first year with Dan Campbell in the lions where people were calling for his head after the first year went bad. Things take time when you have to start with a terrible situation
@@jefferythompson3235 bryce can see over the line perfectly fine. Our line is smaller than what he had at bama. If you do, just continue to have hope and wait. At the end of the day frank took full control over the offense and the offensive PLAYS and refused to dail up plays to bryces play style. It has came out that frank didnt bother adding rpo plays that tailor to bryce, because frank said it does match HIS play style, HIS offensive system... thats selfish af
@@andrewalvarez4975 frank has been calling the plays since day 1. And the plays tb called when he did, were STILL franks plays. Your just talking out the side of your neck. Just say you dont like bryce. If bryce was so bad how did he get sullivan the ball on sunday? That wasnt an "average" throw. The first game he was in, bryce threw like a 54yrd DOT to him. Thats pretty good🤔 bryce threw to him AGAIN for like 60 sum yards when we played the texans. Bryce got it. If you dont see that just say that. Go bandwagon another team that has everything in place since bryce is "so bad" when your clearly just looking at the record and not what hes going through and WHY hes performing the way he is. But now that frank is gone bryce can get his real OC to dial up some plays that tailor to his strengths. Clearly frank wasnt trying to help bryce because he was suggested to let bryce run some rpo plays and frank declined because he said it didnt work with HIS system and HIS playstyle😐. Selfish af for sabotaging a rookie qb all because you dont trust him. Bryce will be fine. Everything of a disaster offensively, was ALL frank. And that was CLEAR as day.
It not that stan. Remember when coach Kyle Shanahan first took over the San Francisco 49ers he said we going to do it right. The first thing he did was hire was hire a offensive line coach. He just gotten fired by coach Pete Carroll. Kyle Shanahan immediately recognized that coach Carroll did not affectively evaluate what happening on his offensive line. This is key. Tepper isn't doing the hard work of building up his offensive and defensive line first.
@@mandarinandthetenrings2201 literally had all training camp and preseason to sort that out…no excuse, I’m sure as professionals and people with decades of experience between them they knew that the O-Line was terrible. So that being said u have to have a scheme for Bryce’s so he’s not getting killed every other blitz package they throw at him. Not to mention they stood by and did nothing during the trade deadline 🫠😐
I still think it's health over ability with the QB till he has receivers, a cheap running back, and a decent line. He has time to throw the ball, open guys and still bottom 10 in scoring and points or 3 years of bottom 5 passing, then he is not a starter. I would have taken the bigger/faster guy passing ability did not seem a lot different, if Fields looked like Stroud his 1st 2 years, they probably would have taken him. If you have to make a decision now, they are near dead last passing and total yards and points, you would have to say the QB is not a positive and might get you fired. When you are winning fewer than 6 games a year, it is typically a 1 and done for ever job.
Unfortunately the NFL doesn’t want these teams as corporations with the owner being the CEO for exactly the reason presented. The only team that is exempted from this is the Packers since they pre-date the NFL.
It’s not that he is just 5’10’’ but he is 185 lbs. he was 203 at the combine when he woighed. You can tell he gained weight just for that. His playing weight is rumored to be 180-185 lbs. that’s too small. IF he was playing at 203 or 205 that’s differant. 20 lbs of muscle certainly makes a differance and makes you more durable.
The kid has been sacked 40 times this year and has a crazy amount of big QB hits. Hes been fine lasting the season. Anthony Richardson who is built bigger out for the whole season.
I always look back at Reid in Philly when I think of the crazy coach and ownership. Reid lead Philly to numerous NFC title games and could never get over the hill to finish the game and hold up a Lombardi trophy. He leaves and goes to KC, helps turn them into a blooming dynasty. I have always felt they turn into better coaches and players when they change locations. Sean P did it in NO with Drew.
The QB they have is more important than the coach(about 65-35 or 60-40 QB\Coach). Ask BB in New England, and Andy Reid, like you said, never could seal the deal ,even in KC with Alex, until he got Mahommes. Sean Payton hasn't won a SB since 2010 and had Brees all those years.
Charean said something ironic and she didn't even know it. 'David Tepper is the worst owner since he came into the league at 30-63. Only the Jets have a worse record over that span'. Well, by definition, doesn't that make the JETS the worst team over that stretch?...Not to mention the Jets' previous 40 years...
So Mike needs to add Jerry jones in this, bc he’s to Much involved when he shdnt be. The reason why they won those SBs is bc he stayed out the way and let Jimmy do his thing.
Wilks would want this job, but he better be shrewd in negotiations with Tepper. If Tepper has no one to promote from interim to full time, he may as well bring back Wilks for good and pay Wilks $9 million per year considering Rhule got over $8 million annually.
Frank Reich is 6’4. His Super Bowl QB Carson Wentz is 6’5. It’s just inconceivable how he could lower his stature to coach a under height under sized QB. They need to look for a short head coach
As a Panthers fan, I stand with Tepper. Reich was garbage, and I get it... the media gets their info from the coaches... but he was terrible. Next up is Scott Scott Fitterer, the only GM that pays 25 million for running back. I cant believe Florio is defending Matt Rhule, he was terrible!!! Look at what Rivera has done at Washington, he's trash. Time to get John Dorsey, and let him run things.
Imagine if the world workforce was paid like coaches. You get 5 years guaranteed salary no matter how you perform. Wonder what would happen to productivity
Yes, but the owner is trying to buy a Championship. It you the fans that loudly must point out that not how this game is designed. The old NFL owners designed this league for you to have create a good team first to win.
I've been an advocate of contracting the league and the two teams I feel should be cancelled are the Chargers and the Panthers. There is no hope with either of those teams because of the owners and also because the Chargers have no fanbase anywhere.
David Tepper isn’t worth anywhere near 20 billion dollars. In the last Forbes list he was worth 8 billion. 8 billion is not almost 20 billion. Almost 20 billion is 19.3 billion. Yea Teppar is worth around 8 billion.
Owner is arrogant and out of touch, and refuses to admit he made the wrong draft pick and won't listen to anyone who says otherwise because that would mean admitting he was wrong, which he is incapable of.
Lets weave an elementary narrative. Please, the owners care more about having to share TV revenue with a slipshod owner who has low viewer ratings than competing with a slipshod owner on the field
Tepper's ego makes him incapable of admitting he is the problem. Unfortunately, until he stops meddling the Panthers will remain cellar dwellers in the NFCS.
The new breed of owner has more money than sense. They think they know football when their knowledge is that of the average fan (and maybe even less). If you are new to the ownership game, ask veteran GMs, owners, for recommendations on a good GM to hire. Let that GM do his job and you go sit in the skybox and shut up. Oh, for the days of the owners of long ago. Fans often wouldn't recognize them if they sat beside them in the stands. Some fans couldn't even tell you who the owner of their team was. The TV cameras panned to the skybox to show the owner every now and then. Now, you have owners who are more famous than the coach and players.

False. The market did not dictate that sum, they reset the market with that sum, that's what happened. Even seriously wanting Watson was stupid, at that price point it was insane. The guy hadn't played football in nearly 2 seasons. He had a gigantic stink on him, and nobody believes he is innocent.
Frank Reich should take his small fortune from David Tepper and go coach one of the Big 10 teams.
Frank should try the IVY league, Cornell is looking for a head coach. I'm just wishing .
Thinking out loud -
Reich to Ann Arbor
Harbaugh to Chicago.
@@tomchrisfield7348 - Liberty University is a better fit.
As an Eagles fan im glad we have a stable owner and organization
Panthers fan since they were an expansion team. They lost me when they traded CMC. Tepper is a joke.
lol if fans stop supporting some of these owners maybe they will learn the hard way
Who gave terry bradshaws side chick a microphone and told her to talk football?¿?¿
Haha how original
Too many damn ads
'The Preacher' is extraordinary work
Tepper would probably never do this but, I think they would be smart to hire Jim Cadwell since he’s already on staff.
I agree but I heard he doesn’t want the stress of the HC position for health reason.
Tepper admitted that everything that’s going on is his fault but he still won’t change. Basically he said he’s the boss so it’s his way or no way
Great job breaking it down.
I always wonder has a team ever gone without hiring an actual coach when they fired one.
I'm a Panther fan but because of Tepper I'm moving on from the Panthers.
Be a Texans fan. A lot of panthers fans certainly seem to be.
same here we have suffered 6 years of his mess and hes only setting us back even farther. Im moving to a new team.
If he couldnt see over the line there i font think he be successful there.... make it make sense and just say you dont like bryce because hes short and thats ok but if you dont believe him him, kick rocks and go to another tem then.
Frank had nun to do with cmc so idk why that was brought up, i think we shoulda let derrick go at least if they really wanted bryce because we just signed dj though 2025, how can you say bryce is bad when he has 0 protection, and his wrs seemingly cant get open except adam... gtfoh.
@@andrewalvarez4975Frank wouldn't play to Bryce's strengths with running RPO's he said it doesn't fit HIS offensive system!
Regardless Frank had to go…literally no improvement on offense In any area…the players didn’t wanna run through a wall for him like they did for wilks
Frank Reich couldn't get The Koolaid Man to run through a wall...
@@mandarinandthetenrings2201 literally had all training camp and preseason to sort that out…no excuse, I’m sure as professionals and people with decades of experience between them they knew that the O-Line was terrible. Not to mention they stood by and did nothing during the trade deadline 🫠😐

They should’ve kept Steve Wilks 🤦

Bryce Young is 5 10. Thats small for a High School QB
Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray are the same size
And yet he has had a successful career until he got to Carolina.
Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray aren't small framed like Bryce Young. Amazing if Young makes it without getting hurt.
he is a man in a childs body
@@jayp4114 I also just read that Bryce beefed up at the combine and is really back down to around 180-190 now
Stop hating on the Panthers
U forgot Steve wilks in Arizona
I’m a falcons fan and it’s not the coaches or staff. It’s their owner David Tepper. This is karma from not hiring Wilks
Bryce Young will never be an impact player in this league.
Segment aged like wine.
On New Years Eve 2023 he throws a drink on a opposing fan and he issues a statement with NO APOLOGY and fined a measly $300K.
You dont want corporate ownership as they only care about $, a Steinbriener or Illitch is desirable as they dont care how much a ring cost
First year ? You guys have no patience at all.😂😂😂
Funny how people were calling this kid Bree’s 2.0 absolute 🤡🤡🤡
Good to see Daniel Snyder found himself in Carolina
Charean said something ironic and she didn't even know it. 'David Tepper is the worst owner since he came into the league at 30-63. Only the Jets have a worse record over that span'. Well, by definition, doesn't that make the JETS the worst team over that stretch?...Not to mention the Jets' previous 40 years...
So Mike needs to add Jerry jones in this, bc he’s to Much involved when he shdnt be. The reason why they won those SBs is bc he stayed out the way and let Jimmy do his thing.
"Billionaires playing fantasy football". that sums it up. How many owners would qualify for that group? < 10 > ?
Wilks would want this job, but he better be shrewd in negotiations with Tepper. If Tepper has no one to promote from interim to full time, he may as well bring back Wilks for good and pay Wilks $9 million per year considering Rhule got over $8 million annually.
Frank Reich is 6’4. His Super Bowl QB Carson Wentz is 6’5. It’s just inconceivable how he could lower his stature to coach a under height under sized QB. They need to look for a short head coach
This isn’t Bryce’s fault. He needs to be given a chance
At this rate, either I may not live long enough, or the world as we know it will end, before my Panthers win, at least, one Super Bowl.
Looking for a hero coach out there who is it going to be ❓…..
And sprinkling, and sprinkling, and sprinkling....
You leave John Dorsey where he is.
Someone please tell me why David Tepper thinks he knows more about football than the equipment manager of a high school basketball team.
I've been an advocate of contracting the league and the two teams I feel should be cancelled are the Chargers and the Panthers. There is no hope with either of those teams because of the owners and also because the Chargers have no fanbase anywhere.
Jim Irsay should thank God for David Tepper. Only taking heat for a week playing the white billionaire card seems like getting off pretty easy.
No receivers, freshman QB, spread offense, and coaches that did not land on the same page. Wilkes had it right...run first attack.
With the #1 pick... Carolina Panthers selects Bust Young, QB bama.
I will put together a general overview of what I'm talking about give me a moment to get my notes together
Don't know why they don't play Andy Dalton
David Tepper isn’t worth anywhere near 20 billion dollars. In the last Forbes list he was worth 8 billion. 8 billion is not almost 20 billion. Almost 20 billion is 19.3 billion. Yea Teppar is worth around 8 billion.
Mike absolutely mauled Tepper here. BB.
looks like Tepper is the next Dan Snyder
Kliff Kingsbury is there for them.
Pay Nick Saban a billion dollars to coach the panthers
As a Panthers fan, Tepper needs to sell the team: He is an idiot and has been an absolute disaster
Owner is arrogant and out of touch, and refuses to admit he made the wrong draft pick and won't listen to anyone who says otherwise because that would mean admitting he was wrong, which he is incapable of.
All that money and not a mirror in sight.
Shireen looks good , wow even though she's older.....she's gorgeous
"Got rid of the preacher." Yep......
What do Snider and Tepper have in common??
Then how come jerry jones cant make it to a superbowl ?
He wants to win put he only about making him at the same time come on firing a head after 11 games frank reich who was decent to good in indy is ridiculous
I disagree, this is an opportunity for a Real Coach to show the world who you are. Take a team from nothing to something.
