Thank you so much for this. my blind grandmother just listened to this and although she is good at knitting she didn't understand how to knitt in the round. She now feels like she can try it again.
Lovely to hear your grandmother doesn't let her blindness get in the way of her love for knitting. The tactile sense is very powerful, and I've seen experienced knitters continue knitting while looking up from their work. Your grandmother must be a very skilled and determined lady, good for her!
I’ve wanted to try using circular needles but I always felt it might be hard given my limited knitting skills. However, this video is motivating me try it. Awesome video!
You're honestly amazing! I have watched what feels like a thousand videos on circular needles, but you explain it so well I only just wrapped my head around it!
Thank you for all these simple to follow tutorials! I have a 6 month old and am ready to get back into knitting (haven't done it since I was about 10!) so this will be so helpful as I start to try making her a hat!
This video was so timely for me. I use circular needles to knit flat all the time because I kept losing one of my straight needles in the middle of a project (I think the couch eats them, lol) I haven't gotten up the nerve to try knitting in the round with my circulars yet though. It seemed complicated and I wasn't sure what the dire warnings to "make sure you don't twist your stitches" meant. Now I do! The rest of your tips are helpful too. I hate having to weave in yarn tails at the end. Getting them out of the way from the start is a great idea! I think I see a completed hat project or two in my immediate future now! Thanks!!! :)
Great video for beginners on knitting in the round! One clarification though....this is not magic loop. Magic loop is a method for knitting small circumference objects (such as socks) in the round on long circulars.
LOVE YOUR CONTRIBUTION. To make my first row neater and WAY Faster, I beging with straight needles then transfer to circular needles of the same size.. It helps with my tension and I don't have to worry so much about twisting the first row. Probably most do not have this kind of knitting "dyslexia" but this method made me breeze through beginning a project, a bulk hat.
I LOVE your tutorial on knitting with circular needles! I have some, but have never used them - you make it look SO easy. Thank you and I look forward to more videos from you!
Hello, I've been struggling with joining in the round for months until I finally came across your tutorial. Your technique made it so easy for me to catch on and I sincerely thank you.
Studio Knit thanks to your video I knit a basic hat in the round for the first time! I already enjoyed your patterns but I can’t thank you enough, currently working on the brain hat!🎉
That was incredibly helpful! I’ve Ben trying to get my first few rows of casting on and knit 2 purl 2 in the round and this video clarified so much! Including how to secure the tail after joining. Cheers!
Wow you made this look so easy! And the extra little tips are appreciated! I was afraid of any pattern that called for a circular needle…. I’m going out today to get one and get started. ❤
I remember my Mom taught me to knit basic and I've always seen my mom knitting as she would use her cicular needles and I've always wanted to learn the cicular needles and since she passed away last year and never gotten the chance to learn. I know she warned me it's hard to learn the cicular needles at first. This will help me for sure. Thank you! :)
Your video makes knitting in the round look so easy! And thanks for the tip on knitting with both the tail and working yarn so you don't have to work in the ends.
I was very despirate to use circular needles for a long time but your video has helped me to try knitting with these needles 🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍 Thankyou dear! Your tutorial is amazing!!! 😍😍😍👌👌👌👌👌🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 Love from India dear ❤
As usual you are amazing and just to the point ... I stopped knitting and crochet for long time ..I searched for this today and see your lovely tutorial..thanks
thank you so much! im too scared to buy a round knitting needle because im used to knit using straight needles. you made it look easy so im doing a hat now.
OMG this is awesome. I am an absolute beginner. Still knitting the scarf and learning the garter and the purl stitch. I wanted to learn to stitch leg warmers for my balled class and this is so perfect!
Just received my first pair of circular needles and some pretty yarn colors. Now let's see what I can come up with following your tips (which is amazing). My husband was watching with me and said "that looks complicated" ;-)
Great tip on knitting the tail into the hat! I love it. I have a hat on circular needles right now and my plastic part between is way too long. I'm going to try one with a shorter cord next time.
I just sat down today and taught myself how to cast on stitches and learn the knit and purl stitch. I am a lifelong crocheter and a tunisian crocheter and a loom knitter. I've crocheted tons of hats and loom knitted lots of hats too.My question is this regarding the casting on: how do I determine how long that end/tail has to be for the long stitch cast on? I have had to rip out and start over my cast ons because I ran out of tail yarn. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any info. Thanks for making this video too! :)
Wow, you have serious skills!! Excited to hear you're tackling knitting and sounds like you're a natural. You know, I really just eyeball it for where to start your first slip knot to cast on. And, I, too, often am out of yarn tail and need to start over. I'm thinking that wrapping the yarn around your needle for the # of stitches could be helpful... Hmmm... You've got me thinking!! I'll try it and make a video if I'm into something. Thank you so much for watching my channel, Lee Ann!!
Thank you so much. You debunked what seems to be a mystery of knitting with circular needles. It seems very easy once you master it. BUT HOW BEST CAN YOU HANDLE THE NEEDLES TO AVOID TWISTING OF THE CIRCULAR NEEDLES?
thanks so much for sharing this video.. im more of a crocheter but have recently bought a pair of circular knitting needles to start a few projects. This was so simple and easy to understand. I've subscribed so I can keep coming back :) x
A new subscriber here I have spent hours trying to use these needles I just couldn't figure out how to work them lol ... now I feel stupid thank u so much for teaching an old dog new tricks ... going to get a pattern and do a hat
wow that was really helpful thanks a lot :) i only used circular needle because they are lighter in weight :D now, thanks to you, i will make my first no-sewing sweater :)
thank you so so easy. I've even made myself a stitch marker with jewellery components. I would love to see a tutorial on circular needles for socks and turning the heel.

If I am k2, p2 should I purl the 3rd stitch when practicing your tip on “weaving in the cast on tail”? Your videos and teaching technique are superior! Thank you so much!
hi, im a bit late but i have a question, what can i do if the circular needle is too long? for example i have a long loop connecting the two needles which make it difficult for me to connect the yarn. do i simply have to change needle or can i do something? idk if its clear😭 however thank you for your tips
Hi! I have been knitting for about 6 years now and am interested in circular knitting needles. My next big project is a blanket, but I am not sure what size to be getting. I want the blanket to be large enough to fit me, I am 5' 4. Thank you!
Hi! Nice video. I was going to link this to help out a beginner knitter, but as I watched it, your reference to "magic loop" is a little confusing. As I know it, Magic Loop is an entirely different technique. Thank you for your collection of tutorials that help us all out. :)

I'm wanting to knit a long stocking cap. Like the kids wear on Christmas Story. It hangs all the way down their back and comes to a point. I found a pattern to use, but am not sure what size yarn to use. Thank you! Your videos are very helpful.

OMG I am so sorry about your grandmother being blind
Your compassion for your grandmother is a wonderful blessing for all of us! I pray you are both well!
Thank you for being her light 🤩🙏🏻❤️

Wow, just reading this now. So happy and honored to help out your grandmother. 💖
Great, easy tutorial that eliminates the mystery and intimidation of knitting with circular needles, especially for novices like me.

Really great instruction; I especially like how you hold the tail and the yarn together to anchor it and then to weave it into the work.

This is why I don't do long-tail cast-on; I just knit on my stitches. I never run out of yarn and have to start over.
Thank you so much. You debunked what seems to be a mystery of knitting with circular needles. It seems very easy once you master it. BUT HOW BEST CAN YOU HANDLE THE NEEDLES TO AVOID TWISTING OF THE CIRCULAR NEEDLES?
