Awesome. Just awesome. I am a crocheter who is on a budget. I want to learn to knit but I only have select size circular needles from garage sales. I thought I couldn't knit anything in the round unless I got the exact size, but I am so happy I found this video! (I've been subscribed for years but just now found this video! Thank you!)
Hey girl, yes this is the video for me . I'm trying to knit a hat but my circular needles are too long and I actually tried doing the magic loop and failed . It's so frustrating but you gave great tips . Definitely going to study this video and try again. Thanks
Thank you thank you thank you. I was so sad when I thought I wouldn't be able to knit my vest (first project!) but you have saved me. I'll be going over this video again in a minute to have this trick memorized.
Wonferful! I just started learning to knit on some old straight needles that were hanging around the house but so many projects that interest me are on circulars but I didn't want to have to buy a ton of different sizes of cables. I'm so happy I found this video.
I’m so excited to have found your video. I love using my tiny DPNs for socks but now I want to do a top down sweater and I don’t have the correct cable lengths for my interchangeable circulars. Thank you fir saving me a fortune on buying more cables or needles the correct size ❤
Thank you for this timeous video. I am at the stage where I needed to change to DPNS which I did not relish. You have explained This Magic Loop I think you called it and did it so well. You are a 🌟 star I am knitting hats
Thank you for your great tutorial on magic loop...you make it easy and I was able to understand how it is done after watching several other videos.... that frankly were much to complicated for me....I got it! after watching your video just a few times....Thank you again.
Hello. Thank you for this well-explained and easy to understand video. I bought a set of circular needles but they are too long. I would like to make hats. I will definitely try out the magic loop. Thank you again and have a blessed year.
I noticed that when I cast on if I don’t use the long tail method then the tail and working yarn aren’t on the same end, like at 0:56, I’m not sure what to do now?
Thanl you - I'm trying to knit gloves and I have 4mm knitting needles with like- a 10+ cms cable that connects them- which it's pretty big compared to what I need to do-
Happy to help!! It’s definitely easier to get the hang of with a full project hanging off (like switching from 16” circulars to magic loop to knit the crown), so you may give that a try too!
@@bhookedknitting Thanks Brittany🧡!! I know you have a ribbed hat tutorial on your other channel, so I’m going to make that and try practicing the magic loop. Your videos are always comprehensive but I’ll reach out if I still don’t get it 😰!
I started a hat. Brim and Italian cast on went great[im a knew knitter] then I decided after using the 4.0 16 inch round I’d switch to magic loop when the pattern suggested bigger needle. I went to my 4.5 40 inch but then the pattern of course started having increases and I couldn’t do magic loop. I’m so frustrated because I didn’t decide the stitches properly I guess. It was a mess once I started to pattern after the brim
I am using this method but my first stitch on the second half is a purl. I’m noticing I’m probably pulling the yarn a lil too tight bc that column is a lil shorter than the rest
There's one thing I don't understand How can both the working yarn and tail be on the same side unless you knit a first row before you separate your stitches?
Hey Jane! The extra length certainly helps, but I’ve been known to use a 32” every now and again, especially for smaller round projects like baby hats.
So glad you liked the video, Lauren! I've had this yarn in my stash for a while so I'm not sure if it's still available, but it's Mary Maxim Marvelous Chunky 👌
While I appreciate the depth and brevity of the video, this technique is a huge PITA. Unless you’re so destitute that you can’t get the correct needles, just get the right needles.

Keep at it! It's so weird at first, but it'll become second nature after a little practice.
Thank you thank you thank you. I was so sad when I thought I wouldn't be able to knit my vest (first project!) but you have saved me. I'll be going over this video again in a minute to have this trick memorized.
Thank you! I was about to get a set of circular knitting needles and was happy to find this video!

Wow, this is the answer to my issues with the circular needles, I’m so glad I found your video❤
You explained so clearly and the visual perfect . Thank you!
Omg thank you, now i am knitting a sweater, and needles cord is too long for the sleeves, this video is so helpful❤
Great video where have you been all my knitting days. 😊 Thanks
I've learned something new. I've just watched ur video and tried it, & it worked. So much easier now. Thanks for the video.
thank you so much! you just saved me a 2nd trip to the store lol!

Wow thank you so much for the tutorial. I'm already well on my way with regular dk yarn since your tutorial was so easy to follow.
You truly have a gift for explaining! I watch alot of YT to learn new skills. Thank you so much!!

I am knitting hats
I'm so glad you found it at exactly the right time! DPN's are definitely not my favorite either. Magic loop is the way to go!
This tutorial was a huge help, thank you!

Just saved me! Was so disgruntled to realize my needles were too long. Thank You!!!!
Thank you so much!! You made it so easy! Been struggling with the magic loop for so long..

Thank you for such a clear tutorial. Helped so much
Great video! Will share with those who struggle with knitting in the round.
Thank you, Barbara!
Thank you for showing this interesting method.
Thank you, thank you. I been wanting to learn this.

You have to cast on exactly how she did it using the "long tail method" and both strands will end up together at the end.
Thank you so much. Easy to understand.

Lifesaver! Thanks ☺️ 🙏🏻
gonna have to try this one out later.
Omg thank you Brittany this definitely breaks down the magic loop method!! I just don’t know if I will ever get it but I will keep trying 😪

How does those work for left handed knitters?
Great video Brittany! When I taught myself Magic Loop I practiced on thicker yarn. It was definitely the way to go for me!!💕
Me too! It made all the difference!
🤗🤗

Thank you for the helpful tips
Thank you
How do you know you completed the round?
Thx
Just pop a stitch-marker on, or you can always use a short piece of wool instead. Hope that helps.! 😊
This is a silly question but if you use this tool and you don’t connect it can you use it to make a bigger blanket ?
There's one thing I don't understand How can both the working yarn and tail be on the same side unless you knit a first row before you separate your stitches?
Brilliant!
What needles are you using here? They're so pretty!
Is that mean +1 or it doesn't count to the pattern?
Thanks! Best instructions for magic loop!
thanks
I have seen that most tutorials tell you to use a 40” needle. I have a 32 is this still doable?
Hey Jane! The extra length certainly helps, but I’ve been known to use a 32” every now and again, especially for smaller round projects like baby hats.
Excellent video and thank you 🤗❤ Also, I love the yarn you are using in the video. What is the name and brand of the yarn you are using for the demo?
So glad you liked the video, Lauren! I've had this yarn in my stash for a while so I'm not sure if it's still available, but it's Mary Maxim Marvelous Chunky 👌
I need to see how you transfer to other size needles please.
Pls give the pattern
I ❤ IT
Thank youuu I felt so dumb accidentally buying 10 inch rounds for wrist warmers
I think I get it, I'm just going to keep watching this....
The circular needles are so complicated. I've spent so much time trying to make that magic circle works I literally gave up
🤯🤯🤯
