It took me decades to figure this out, but in "THE PINK PANTHER", Blake Edwards replaced the intermissions with a completely UNCALLED-FOR musical number that stops the plot DEAD for 3 minutes. Crazy thing-- it's my FAVORITE part of the movie. :) It long bugged me that the soundtrack album did not have this recording on it. So, at one point, I ran off a custom "special edition" with this song at the end as a bonus track.
