In my opinion this is one of the finest films ever made, the glamour, the fantasy, the great looking actors and actresses, the music and the funniest Peter Sellers...this is truely a classic have viewed it over 25 times and never cease to love it
Totally agree - so stylish, engaging and hilarious all at once. Fantastic performances from everyone involved. And this version of this classic song is to die for - Fran is the BOMB
Blake Edwards is such a skilled director that he gets away with Fran Jeffries breaking the 4th wall by singing directly to the camera and completes the number in just 2 shots including the full cast and some complex camera moves to follow the action around the room. Brilliant blocking and hardly noticeable how stagey it is. I can't think of another film that does this as successfully.
When I was 17,I saw the pink panther movie and fell hoplessly in love with Fran when she sang this song, 45years have now passed and I still adore her,I am so pleased the song is now on U Tube,as I watch it when I need cheering up Love you Fran.xx
I remember this as one of the best thiings in the movie. Wow, haven't seen in in 30 years! She is great and so is the whole routine. I was just watching Michael Buble's version and it doesn't touch it.
This video about fran jeffries plus music meglio stasera And only song and she gave video's inspiration And no need with mess with Henry mancini and Peter seller.becouse it kills spirit of video and song.
I’m 52 years old. I just discovered Fran while watching an episode of 1970’s Police Woman. Her sound takes me back to music at my grandparents house. I knew she had to have a real singing career. So good!
@@erizzle67 Yep Ia caught it also, just as she goes behind the column. It is a bit fast probably equipment trouble. No problemo she is very good, on many levels, concept by Peter Sellers, of course.
The first Pink Panther film was a great deal of fun; Peter Sellers was extremely funny without the self consciousness that detracted from his later performances; David Niven was charming; Claudia Cardinale was a knockout; Capucine and Robert Wagner were excellent and the music by Henry Mancini was one of his best film scores. Jeffries was first rate as well.
What a showcase for Fran. I can only imagine the director must have really REALLY liked her to give her a number where even the top-billed stars function as nothing more than comic extras.
I believe this was an example of the "bossa nova" sound popular in the 1960s that grew out of the samba's popularity in the 1940s and the mambo's popularity 1950s.
Adorabile!!! Bravissima e bellissima, una gatta nei movimenti del ballo, grande professionista sconosciuta ai più....(anche a me che solo con l'avvento di Internet ho scoperto questa professionista,il film lo conoscevo). Carisma a non finire!!
Adorable!!! Talented and beautiful, a cat in the movements of the dance, to the most professional big unknown .... (to me that only with the advent of the Internet I discovered this professional, the film I knew him). Charisma to no end !!
Fran Jefffries - what a performance! Then the stunning beautiful Capucine and wonderfully glamorous Claudia Cardinale! Mixed with the effortlessly chic David Niven, Sellars at his bumbling best and the marvellously silly plot. What more could you want? Wish we had something to equal this today.
One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies. My sister and I loved the music and had the record with the English lyrics only. So wonderful to replay both versions as often as I like.
I absolutely LOVE this scene!! Aside from the remarkable Fran Jeffries and her awesome...er..'assets'..i CRACK UP looking at that ugly sweatered bald guy with glasses in the background GENUINELY enjoying her in the background!! The two sexy boy dancers, cardinal, capucine and riotous Sellers...and of course the chick in the snake-skin stovepipes and gld lame stilleto-spike boots!! Fantastic mid-century escapest confection!!
Great song! Greater singer! Very stylish! I never tire of Fran Jeffries' smooth moves. She is very forceful singer.and wow what a turn on! The caption is right on and that is "Pink Panther's best scene," and a very funny movie. One of my all time favorites!
Pure glamour meets the winter slopes- wonderful sophisticated combination adults need to take more part in. As a boy on wi winter nights I loved this scene
I like the personality of that girl. Her looks, her talent in singing, her braveness in that room full of people, and her dancing style. The song is taylired made for her.
How is it this woman is not a household name? I just saw her in Sex and the Single Girl and she left such an impression on me I had to look her up. I was very surprised she only made a handful of movies. I looked up her songs and so far, nothing i recognized. I’m not saying she wasn’t successful, maybe she was more so than I know. Maybe she didn’t want to pursue any more than she did, but man, she had all the tools to be well recognized in film, music, model, etc. I may be late to the game, but she has one more fan now.
I believe that this is the only part of the movie that showed Fran Jeffries, and yet the music ( without the words ) was played in other parts of the film, including the opening credits.
A great kiss from us, her half country mates, to our very own Fran....MAKRIS (she's half American, half Greek! That's her real name!) Girl......you shaken that Greek body of yours in a unique way! Well done!
@Doc Savage Correction! They used to be! (Back in the days, when MAKRIS also used to live)! Nowadays, it's the other way around! They are the bad ones, and the men, are the real victims here! Say things, the way, they really are.....
Before Fran got her break Fran used hang out in North Beach in San Francisco. Like in the Condor Bar for one (before Carol Doda) and the Sinaloa Club.. She had a fabulous figure. Very glamorous.
That's Meri Welles, who was in the original Little Shop of Horrors (as the prostitute) and was married to wacky character actor Mel Welles. She died very young.
This scene is so weird. The way she keeps looking at the camera makes you wonder if it's really part of the story or if it's just the actors as themselves watching Fran Jeffries sing.
A very attractive woman and a very good singer and actress. She really had a tremendous body and moved like a cat, and that initial view of her behind is terrific. She was also great in another comedy masterpiece, "Sex And The Single Girl". R. I. P.
Wouldn't we ALL love that?! But "The Lonely Princess" (Claudia) would be out of character and would distract from Fran's fine performance. Nonetheless if each main player (Sir Charles, Dala, Simone, George, even Saloud etc. and of course Clouseau) took a turn dancing next to Fran - trying to copy her moves - what a great special feature would be on the DVD. Missed opportunity!
I love the movie, and i love this scene! ¡yo! :) Even if Fran Jeffries were not gorgeous, i would still love the music! ♪♥♥♪ I have heard that she pronounced those Italian words not so well, but that is OK! I doubt that she was seeking to impress the Italians with her pronunciation! Impressing the Italians was not the reason for making the film!! ¡har! :)
In my opinion this is one of the finest films ever made, the glamour, the fantasy, the great looking actors and actresses, the music and the funniest Peter Sellers...this is truely a classic have viewed it over 25 times and never cease to love it
Too many wanton murders and excessive bloodshed. l prefer the original THE PINK PANTHER.
Totally agree - so stylish, engaging and hilarious all at once. Fantastic performances from everyone involved. And this version of this classic song is to die for - Fran is the BOMB
So do you like the movie?
You can never get enough of early 1960s eurochic.
Fran Jefferies! Someone who deserved far more success than she actually received. This performance done in a single take is truly incredible!
Blake Edwards is such a skilled director that he gets away with Fran Jeffries breaking the 4th wall by singing directly to the camera and completes the number in just 2 shots including the full cast and some complex camera moves to follow the action around the room. Fran Jeffrey's dancing is so smooth and graceful, no jerky movements, so ladylike.
Tutta l italia e qui.... Bellezza, eleganza, canzone sexy... Forza italia... Paese mio.. Patrizio della Francia
I swear I watch this about once a week! 💙
Me too. I love it!

She passed away about a year ago..... will be missed hugely.Unforgettable beauty and elegance and talent.

Fran was my neighbor. Lovely, smart, beautiful and kind.
Requiescat In Pace
Wow. This was a nice Woman.
This song is mesmerizing! Wonderful performance by Fran Jeffries.
Peter Sellers, Henry Mancini, Fran Jeffries - what a combination!
And the beautiful pretty Claudia Cardinalle. Gostosa!!!!

one scene shot without any stop! THIS IS PROFESSIONALISM of 50 elements all perfectly synchronized as one!
There's at least one cut at 1:52. But what is really bothering me is this video is sped up just a millisecond. Like, chipmunk style. Wonder why....

Ive been trying to figure it out for weeks lol

Excellent audio quality. Better than the actual movie soundtrack! Thanks for sharing.
Love it! 🥰 Fran Jeffries was beautiful and brilliant😘😘Though she was American with Greek parentage...she must have Italian roots too 😄😉🇮🇹

Какая чудесная атмосфера и песенка симпатичная, сегодня целый день ее напеваю.
Gorgeous in every way, shape, and form. 😍😍😍
Incredible scene! Reminds me a little bit of Silvana Mangano singing and dancing in Anna.
Magic music by Henry Mancini & beautifully interpreted by Fran Jeffries💝🇮🇹

@babaluboo123 I find her way of singing in Italian with her English accent simply adorable...and Peter is fantastic as usual!
The more I watch this film, the more I think either the director or Peter Sellers must have been huge Jacques Tati fan
Love her way of dancing
Class gallore!! 😎 A golden era of cinema.

Maravilhosa! Que saudades...eu cantava essa música quando criança!
what great music, what a woman!
Fran Jeffries' performance in Sex And The Single Girl was great too.
Beautiful
Assolutamente!

I love Robert Wagner in this movie and the great Peter Sellers of course
Great Job by the director, Blake Edwards. Only one cut in the whole (long) number. Many people to move into the right position.
