People in North Texas freaking out about a Mountain Lion sighting. There isn't much wildlife to view there except a drunk wrong-way driver going down the highway.
We live about twenty miles west of Ft. Worth and we have seen one in our yard before. She travels through here every year. As the houses get built, they start going into the mountain lion's range.
Just a reminder it ain't the cats fault. It's ours. They have no place to go anymore. Doing a terrible job of taking care of the wild life. We keep tearing down their territory.
Several years ago my wife and I lived just west of DFW airport in Euless and saw a big cat about 30 yards away out of our dinning room window near Bear Creek where there's a large population of coyotes.
I'm in Abilene Texas. About 5 years ago a mountain lion was killed in tuscola Texas which is about 10 mi or so south of here. About a month later I saw one inside the city limits of Abilene texas. I didn't get my camera up fast enough because as soon as I saw him he jumped from the tree and ran. Mesquite tree directly over a garbage dumpster. When he jumped out of the tree he hit the edge of the dumpster to give him a boost. Then he was gone in the night.
There was one in my back yard a couple of years ago here in South Texas (my son saw it. I heard it before that and thought my cats were attacking an owl or something!! I got video of the way it sounded!!) & many people have spotted them in the area through the years!! They can travel 100 plus miles easy from what I’ve read!!
I saw a rather large beige cat dead on the Dallas Parkway Thurs morning in Frisco before Eldorado when I was going north. Coincidence? I don't think so.
By the way we have black bear in the Lamar, Fannin, and Grayson Counties along the Red River. One showed up at the Dollar Store in Bells Texas a few years ago. One west of Paris a couple of miles out, and 1has been shot in the Ivanhoe area in Fannin Co and that was at least 10 yrs ago. I think 2 total have been shot in that area.
I saw a black panther on lake Lewisville across from Westlake park in Hickory Creek in 2015, it was watching me as I was checking if the house I was working on next to the water was locked. My flash light lit up it's red eyes about 50 ft away, and it set there a few then disappeared.
Don't get people started, please. They will swear up and down there is no such thing. An elderly lady that I worked with saw a black panther/mountain lion several times in Van Zandt County. She was an old country woman and I believe her. Also while living in Jackson MS there was a black mountain lion that several people saw. It ran across the road in front of 2 of my friends. But, wildlife "experts" say that the big black cats don't exist.
@sherryputman8101 I saw one at my old place in Smith co. Next to van zandt, and it was on the news in Smith co. That one was right off the road eating a pig right the Sabine river, they're there.
It doesn’t surprise me. They have a large range there’s Ocelots in southwest Texas and lions and bobcats in south Texas oh jaguars not sure if they been seen in Texas
1 has been shot here in Hunt Co in the Celeste, Hickory Creek area and there's another we know of in the Webb Hill area 5 miles south of Wolfe City and about 8-10 east of Celeste. They're here and have been in our area since the 80s Fannin/Hunt Counties when those deer were turned loose back then.
Did you consider there may be two . It would answer being across the lake. They are beautiful but deadly. I would hope they can tranquilize it and relocate it . But humans first.
I'm suggesting that there are more than one in North Texas. I lived up there for 23 years and I have spotted them in Shady Shores, Lake Dallas, Aubrey and 2 in the Landfill in Denton while dropping off some trash.
@@curly__3 There are over 265000 sq miles in Texas. There are between 5000 and 6500 mountain lions in Texas. That pins it at about 1 cat per 50sq miles. There have been 1 other confirmed sighting of a mountain lion in that entire county in the last 2 decades. It's the same cat kid.
@@zbubby1202 ... Wow... The stupidity displayed on the comments section of youtube knows no bounds. The intellect it takes to do the figuring that you just did is either drug induced or from another source of brain damage... kid. Maybe you should go back to prison so you can get your ged.
Yes it is possible for the cat to travel around the lake in 6 days or less at a casual 30 miles per day walk. But it didnt. That's a different & smaller cat by those campers than was in the back yard at night on camera. This cat by the campers is lucky to weigh 150 lbs & is most likely a female from my observations. The other was likely a male near 220 lbs.

Cats have been at lake Dallas for years. We spotted them when we mowed the parks. Lone star mowing contractor...

😮
No more "Scary" than the Dallas city council.......
Hahahahaha!!
Dude a mountain lions range or territory can be 100 miles. And moving that far that quick NP.
Lots of people are saying there is more then one cat, but like bruh they can swim and travel over 40 miles in a day
There is more than one. I saw two of them chasing each other across the highway.
Just a reminder it ain't the cats fault. It's ours. They have no place to go anymore. Doing a terrible job of taking care of the wild life. We keep tearing down their territory.
Agreed. What do they expect these animals to go after another housing development breaks ground?
We got to live to. They're not the only ones living on earth
Humans > cats
Are you aware of the vast territory, of this area? Just shutup, already
People have been reporting sightings since the '90s and TPWD has always told them it isn't what you saw and they don't exist here....
Probably not the same one. Where there is one, there are more. Its called breeding.
Who knows, they are solitary creatures.
Thanks professor. Tell us more about breeding
Years ago I was face to face with a big cat out the back door of my shop in the middle of Bedford.

It's not common, but there always have been sightings of them south of the DFW metroplex and more so west of Ft Worth.
Meow. We have lots of them in Canada. We can send you a few if you also take a wolf pack, three grizzly, and 500 black bears. Deal???
No. You keep them.
😂😂😂😂😂
We calculate them meats by the pound. Deal????
I wouldn't mind the lions.

That's really cool yesterday while deer hunting in northern Minn I saw one from my deer stand
There all over West Texas, no big deal ❤
Big deal from a cat in west texas to a cat walking around one of the largest cities in the country lol

For any one that wants to see some in captivity there are several last time I was there at the Snake Farm in New Braunfels, Tx 😊
Went to the Snake Farm about 10 years ago & they had lions, but I don't recall any mountain lions. They must be newer arrivals.
I get a panther a baby one and one near my home every year
Oh my Lord Jesus, protect the Dallas city🙏🏽 and all your children 🙏🏽
Sydney... what is a "mao-in" lion??
Leave alone,not messing with you..better than humans❤

The developers killed his ancestral hunting ground. Where did y'all think the animals were going to go when you developed all the land?
Disgusting
Folks! This is WHY you either secure your outdoor pets, or bring them INSIDE!! You never know what's lurking around at night
I just saw one here in Lewisville just now at the south old orchard street

Impressive, most likely mating season and a different cat.

Da, that's what they do, is roaming.
Yep. And ignorant people complain about them when we are steadily ripping out their domain.
I saw a mountain lion in a kayak on Tuesday.
Just paw paddlin
@@randyman1739 Goodness, why didn’t he take a motorboat?
DANGER ⚡
They were there before humans showed up!!
Oh Holy Moly!!!
More than one cat?
Most likely!

Wouldn't it be called a cougar or panther?
Yes and mountain lion too
@@ccinswimI assumed that was only where there were actual mountains.
There is a Jaguarundi running around Dripping Springs
It's not the same one. What a stupid assessment.
There is about a 99% probability it is the same exact one.
