Nothing like being a teen on a hot summer night in the mid '70's with music like this .
Ronbo710 Damn straight.
I grew up as a teen, with familiar times. Unforgettable.
Agree. Wonderful times
Ronbo710 so true those were the good ole days when Rock was Rock!
Wish I wasn’t born in 2000 and rather in the 60’s I could enjoy these as a teen :(
I remember the best part about buying an ALBUM, was sitting in the floor listening to it and feeling it from the speakers while looking at the album artwork.
So true!
Amen, I miss that!
Ah nostalgia.
It's sad that the era of the album cover art is over.
crank the bass up a couple of notches...oh yeah!
ELO didn't get enough respect. Holy shit the 70's made AWESOME EVERYTHING!!
Salute. Yes! Respect.❤
Indeed.best music and movies
I have no respect for them. This song is a blatant rip off of Sweet's Fox on the Run.
That said, music from the 1970s is infinitely better than Music from the last 30 years.
@@johnfrick9995 yeah we aren’t going to talk about how fox on the run is a copy of another song… so you shouldn’t have any respect for sweet either. Listen to “what is life” by George Harrison
ELO was in my opinion the greatest band sine the 70’s !! I am almost 71 years young and I listen to their music to this day and I never get tired of it!! Thank you Jeff Lynne a great singer and an even better song writer !! So many great songs!!
I' m 66 and think the same as You. ELO warms my heart and keeps me alive. Thank You Jeff Lynne
Jeff lynne is a musical genius.
On my playlist...seeing them next mth in Pgh!❤
Just a youthful 62 but have always been a huge fan of ELO!
Jeff Lynne is A GENIUS.
Oh yes !!! He is !!!
hes from London.
I continue to thank him, to this day, for his brilliant voice.
One of the greatest
The Big 3
Brian Wilson
Paul McCartney
Jeff Lynne
and my personal favorite, Billy Joel
Hearing this as a child in the 70's brought me back here!!
Finially They were inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame...very well deserved.
I strongly agree!

It’s about damn time because Jeff Lynn is a legend and a boss
One of the best groups ever!

Living with your grandparents gets you to love the best music! I’m about to be 20 and ElO is one of my favorite bands❤
My grandchildren agree 💘
HaHa, your comment made me smile, because I discovered Neil Diamond thru My Dad's record collection
Never had grandparents
Impossible..@@cherylbois606
I am 60, if your grandparents are like me. I was wilder than you will ever be. I have a 29 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. I have a newborn granddaughter and a 2 year old grandson. I was bartending in the best clubs in the 80s. On the beach in the summer and the ski area in the winters. It was one big party and I made a fortune.
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius and ELO is one of the greatest bands ever 👍🏻😁❤️
Totally agree beyond Superb
I got to see them 3 times in 3 years recently in Socal! I consider myself very fortunate
I'm a black male born and raised in Chicago. Been listening to them since the 70's. Love them!
You have great taste ❤
Ironic,I am white, grew up just North of Detroit and I like MOTOWN :)
and ofc Chicago Blues..."It Hurts me too!" Elmore James and Mel London just one example.
They are world wide.

I feel like ELO is one of the most underrated bands
Elite Band!
They absolutely were not underrated when they were first playing in the 1970s. They were very appreciated and had a solid fan base. I was one of the fans. The records sold great and concerts were full.
@@pamelahofman1785 Yes, and still highly rated. Jeff Lynne's ELO will sell out stadiums now.
IMO,some people assumed ELO wasn't "Cool" because they featured string instruments other than Guitars. They got over it,eventually. ;)
Saying every band/musician is underrated is overrated.
Oh man, remember when musicians were unbelievably talented and soulful beings? Damn good times people.
All thats gone away now unfortunately
@albertataulbee5077 not all of it. You just gotta know where to look. One of my best friends just saw ELO last week in Seattle

Borderlands, welcome to ELO music, happy for y'all to be here
Already knew about ELO, but didn’t hear this one. Good thing The borderlands trailer used it though!
About that
One badass song.
1977 had the best music especially with Electric Light Orchestra
76-77
1967 better
Honestly, I love the whole time from 1976-1984. Best new wave, too.
70's. Great decade for music but hollow in comparison to the mid/late 60"s. It all started there, sorry, not even close.
@@tomlambro2433 Actually it started in the early 50's. My older sisters agree with you, because that's what they grew up with. For us, it was the 70's and my wife say's the 80's ruled.
So proud to be British there isn,t a country in the world who produces bands and music like we do and have done for generations. ELO are up there with the best they have made some awesome music down the decades. jeff lynne is a true genius and a genuine, modest, and professional artist and a really nice guy who just loves making fine music well done big fella
Accept, Modern Talking...
🇺🇸It was our pleasure🇺🇸😁
Absolutely right. Hey you guys gave us Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd , Zeppelin, Stones. Could go on and on. God save the Queen hahaha

@@larrykappel6868Clapton, Zep, and the Stones were all influenced by American musicians!
Electric light orchestras best song
Been an ELO Fan since High School
One of my favorite ELO songs! This closely followed by Don't Bring Me Down. Love the fusion of their vocals with classical music with rock music.
Some facts about Jeff Lynne (ELO)...First, he is a very humble man, simply because this Music Genius is not interested in fame, the limelight, and money, he just loves to create great music. Jeff Lynne is one of the most versatile musicians ever, this is why he is considered by his peers to be among the greatest. He didn't stick to one style of music because, after decades, it gets boring. Jeff has done progressive Rock, Symphonic Rock - Pop, New wave, and Disco.
Everything he does turns to gold. He even flirted with Country music. From 1972 to 1986 (During 14 years) Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world... 51 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas, festivals and Stadiums. During Jeff Lynne's ELO 2019 Tour, many reviews agreed in saying they are the best live Classic Rock Band in the world still touring and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius( From Forbes Magazine and the Washington Post).
ELO is in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Songwriter award ( ASCAP ) in 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. In October of 2020, Jeff Lynne has been made an officer of The Order Of The British Empire for his extraordinary contribution to music. He previously has received three Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate songwriters and composers, including the award for outstanding services to British music.
He created the best Super Group of all time with his best friend George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Jeff Lynne has written and produced many hit songs for music legends like George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Del Shannon, the Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and so many others...In June 2023 Jeff Lynne was inducted in The Songwriters Hall Of Fame ❤👍💯
John Lennon called ELO the sons of the Beatles. No greater compliment could ever be paid to him.
One J.L. was taken out of the picture. I think it's only fitting the other J.L., that the first one admired so much, could step up and not take the other ones spot, but finish what needed finishing.
And with that 2nd JL helping out, the remaining Fab 4 became Fab all over again.
The end of this song is incredible.
I love the way Jeff Lynne turns simple chords into something incredible
"I've seen old men crying at their own grave sides, and I've seen pigs all sitting watching picture slides." Take that, Bob Dylan.
Considering that they were briefly in the same group, he may very well have taken it.
@@kennymurphy2116 The grave bit was from Paul's Eleanor Rigby and the pigs part was George Harrison's Piggies.
That's fkn awesome...take that Bob lol. I've listened to and liked this song since the day it came out but today is the first time I've actually read the lyrics. It's one trippy song and one of ELO's best. They were kinda unique in the '70's with the strings and orchestration but they could still rock out.

its the 70s, when recording was taken seriously..Jeff tweaked that guitar sound perfectly to grab the listener by the throat instantly..strings, harmonies, etc all perfect..the perfect rock tune

In this life I've seen everything I can see woman
I've seen lovers flying through the air
Hand in hand
I've seen babies dancing in the midnight sun
And I've seen dreams that came from the heavenly skies above
I've seen old men crying at their own grave sides
And I've seen pigs all sitting watching
Picture slides
But I never seen nothin' like you
Do you, do you want my love, woman
Do you, do you want my face, I need it!
Do you, do you want my mind, I'm saying it!
Do you, do you want my love
Well I heard the crowd singin' out of tune
As they sat and sang auld lang syne by the light
Of the moon
I heard the preachers bangin' on the drums
And I heard the police playin' with their guns
But I never heard nothing like you
In the country where the sky touches down
On the field she lay her down to rest
In the morning sun
They come a runnin' just to get a look just to
Feel to touch her long black hair they don't
Give a damn
But I never seen nothin' like you
Do you, do you want my love, woman
Do you, do you want my face, I need it!
Do you, do you want my mind, I'm saying it!
Do you, do you want my love
Well I think you know what I'm trying to say woman
That is I'd like to save you for a rainy day
I've seen enough of the world to know
That I've got to get it all to get it all to grow
Do you, do you want my love, woman
Do you, do you want my face
Do you, do you want my mind
Do you, do you want my love
Do you, do you want my love
Do you, do you want my love

Hi, me again. Feeling this pretty hard right about now. And to future me, just do the math and you'll remember why.
Interesting how this didn’t end up in Guardians of the Galaxy with its 70s inspired soundtrack, but is now in the similar feeling Borderlands movie trailer. Good song.
That's because a bunch of folks are trying to replicate James Gunn's work without having any of the talent. But yeah, this song is a bop, so they got part right
@@cooliostarstache5474false. They are not trying to replicate Gunn’s work. Borderlands literally had its own memorable soundtracks and openings with major songs. For so called true fans of the games you clearly don’t remember them all that much.
This would’ve been great to hear in Guardians Vol.3 tbh.
It could’ve been in the hallway scene instead of No Sleep Till Brooklyn BUT that scene already is pretty perfect the way it is.
@@Megaproductions302 I'm not a so called fan of the games. I don't care much about Borderlands. I already knew about the music in the games, though. I remember Seven Seas of Rhye and Happy Together in the Borderlands 3 ads. But it's still painfully obvious that the movie creators are trying to replicate GOTG

Jeff Lynne surely had one of the most soulful powerful voices in rock and pop history.
There wasn't any way we could have known how great this song was ... we just turned it up and realized there might be a serious side to life.

This is a favorite BAD ASS ELO ROCK AND ROLL MASTERPIECE!
From the first beat your head STARTS bobbing. The GUITAR sings the strings.... Then BAMM DO YOU DO YOU WANT MY LOVE? SO COMPLETELY and Masterfully crafted. but that's just me!
A very happy 74th Jeffrey Lynne 30 December 1947. A few rock voices are iconic. Your's is one of the few. Born in Erdington, Birmingham England.. And a member of the world famous Traveling Wilburys. Miss George, Roy and of course Tom.
I love their concept of creating symphonic recordings. Great music.
me too!
Elo.is.the.best.band
got a little fluffy sometimes for me ...but this song...HOTDAMN!
The funny thing is, that was originally Roy Wood's idea. He wanted to "do the Beatles one better" at including symphonic sound into rock. He sold Jeff Lynne on the idea and got him to stay on when Wood dissolved The Move and turned it into the Electric Light Orchestra. Then Wood bailed after one album, leaving Lynne going, "um, OK, now what?" Fortunately, Lynne came up with a damn good answer. :)
No games or movies brought me here just the music itself. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shout out to all the people who grew up in 70's!!!! What an AWESOME decade. Peace!!!
