LOL!! Brilliant comment. Not quite 70 yet, but well made point taken and thanks for the good laugh. The 70's were an amazing time to grow up. We were witness to the dramatic change in music, new bands were coming out of the woodwork, each with their own style and they were GREAT! Bands were allowed greater creativity because the record labels didn't quite have a firm grip on what a cash cow a hit single was yet. FM Radio and out of the heavens fell one of the greatest things to happen to audio......STEREO recordings/sound. We were now privy to that great sound on a permanent basis. If you weren't having a great time during the 70's, you weren't doing something right. Yes my fellow Boomers, we couldn't have chosen a better time to be that young.
This version is from 1975, there's an earlier hard rock version copyrighted 1974 and released that year on the European version of Desolation Boulevard. Me, too. You get it. All early Queen albums proudly stated that no synthesisers were used. they dropped their rule for the Game. Just been reading that the reason they put it on the sleeve was down to a critic who praised their use on Queen 1. Brian apparently was unhappy as he spent hours to produce the sound on his guitar
Me again, the way Brian stands with his hands on his hips, the facial expressions, and that little curl on his hair at the back all facinate me.Well, I am such a Sweet fan❤
I was about 14 or 15 years old when the song fox on the run came out in 1975 and fell in love with the song. I use to have the CD before all my cd's were stolen. By the end of the month I am going to order this cd so I can listen to the song whenever I want and add it to my collection.

From the opening synthesizer swirl to the stomping, riff-heavy verse to the insanely catchy chorus - this is Sweet still in their pomp. 'Fox On The Run' is a dynamic, supercharged record that 47 years on, still has plenty of bite.
well I was lucky enough to have seen this rocking band in our little country at the end of the world - in an unknown town - I tell you, it was a "vision" 😳 to my young innocent eyes believe me 🙃 loved it really
This song burst like a bomb into my soul the first time i heard it in 1975. I carried that little 45 with me for years until it was no more. Imagine my great joy when I was at a music store in the 90s and there was The Greatest Hits of Sweet with Fox on the Run. I was reunited with my musical "friend" and it's been a part of my life ever since. In my ranking, the 4th greatest song of all time!
How do you feel about bohemian rhapsody and fat bottom girls'. Got to see Queen performan at live aid in July of 1985 and I was in the navy at the time and made a port call at Hollilock scotland
@@ansonarnold1584 Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the most significant songs of the rock era. A thing of absolute beauty. Thanks to it being used in Wayne's World it got the exposure it deserved after a so-so reception in 1975 - 76. Lucky you seeing them in concert. In one of the stupider moves in my life, when my brother and father went to see Queen in 1985, I opted to not go. Now Freddy Mercury, my father and brother are gone.

Stevie Moore, the Melvins, Eugene Chadbourne/Shockabilly, Neil Young/Crazy Horse/Buffalo Springfield/CSNY, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan/The Band, BB King, Cliff Richard, Thurston Moore/Sonic Youth, Tangerine Dream, Sparks, Buckethead (100+ albums in 3 years!) and those sorts of people...
Real rock 70s . Love the instruments and the drum beat with that guitar . OMG
Was haben wir danach gerockt- eine unwiederbringliche geile Zeit 👏👍
I'm 51 and I still remember this song playing in the 70's and 80's lol. Great song. Brings back good times lol. Wish they would bring back real music like this again
I am 61. Still a sweet beat !!!!!!!!!!!
i am 73.this when we still had MUSIC...............
The first single I ever bought. Will always hold a place in the heart for that reason ... plus its still great song almost 50 years on!
This the first single for me too ! :)
Mine was 'Hellraiser'
The first song I ever learned all the words to, way back in 1974; I was 9 years old. Still love it in 2022 :)
Great scene in "Black Phone" with this song playing!
My my my what handsome talented gorgous men….swoooon!! ❤
Terrific song never get tired of hearing it
If u walk into a bar and this song's playing,, trust me,, you've got a new favorite bar!!

Lol
This is an outstanding moment in rock history… nuff said
Lip synching 101.
@@slshuskerI love looking at the band in any shape or form.
@KittyGrizGriz , the Victoria Secret video with Sweet playing is excellent.
Check out get it right next time Gerry Rafferty
A great song, and Steve Priest was etherealy beautiful ❤❤
40 plus years later and I still get chills on the opening notes.
Still get the Goose Bumps at 67.
TRY 47 YEARS 1975
1975 Them 70s
These guys were great live. Saw them in 79. They rocked
The 70’ was a fantastic time to be young. Lots of variety of music in the charts & everyone was talented. No sampling or auto tune. Brilliant. 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
OOOO YAAAAAH
Amen To That!
One of the hit bands in the 70’s, bring back my memories. Thank you Sweet 🙏
Love this song!! Great Band! I was a teenager when this song came out. Love it as much today as I did when I was a teen.
Synths and double-bass drums. These guys were such a big part of the 1970's sound.
I was about 14 or 15 years old when the song fox on the run came out in 1975 and fell in love with the song. I use to have the CD before all my cd's were stolen. By the end of the month I am going to order this cd so I can listen to the song whenever I want and add it to my collection.
🎵 Stephen Norman Priest (23 February 1948 - 4 June 2020) was a British bass player known as the lead and backing vocalist of the glam rock band Sweet. Thanks for the music, Steve! 🎵
I didn't realize he had just died. He had a very unique backing vocal voice. I'm saddened. RIP.
AT AGE 71, STILL TOO YOUNG. THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR TREASURE CHEST OF GLORIOUS MUSIC., REST IN PEACE.
Vale Stephen, you were part of so much of the soundtrack of my youth. Thank you.
@@tryithere According to his wife, Maureen, "Steve had been admitted to hospital in February with pneumonia and his lengthy illness had made him very weak. He died peacefully and with dignity, his heart just couldn’t keep up with his body anymore."

THIS SONG IS SOLID GOLD! Those power chords though! 💯
This song screams summer of 1975 to me, I was 13, this song was all over the radio back then...yea I am old....lol
Lido Shuffle that song and many others got me into playing music and composing, still do after all those years, Sweet were a real good band
I was 13 too. Happy times.
I was 17 riding around on my little honda sl 125 summer of 75 ....life was so much better then...no phones. No viruses....we went to San Diego and camped on the beach drank Coors all night smoked some numbers and banging some chick we had meet the day before about 2 am and this was playing on the radio...I think her name was Lori been so long ago....I still remember you from 45 years ago....I wonder if she is still alive etc....
Gregg H we all got a story like yours, me too at the beach, and things were real cool back then.
It certainly changed for the worst in 30 years....the future looks like its gonna be very different....welcome to the matrix 🤷♂️
Yup. Completely agree. I remember this so well.
V rokoch 70 , 80 , 90 bolo veľa veľmi dobrých skupin .
Krásne piesne...ostanú v ..❤...
SWEET je tiež úžasná....
Roky ich počúvam.....
Ďakujem 🌹 🌹🌹
Pozdrav letí zo Slovenska 🇸🇰
Before studio tricks, before auto tune.. just pure talent. The music gods smiled on them.
From the opening synthesizer swirl to the stomping, riff-heavy verse to the insanely catchy chorus - this is Sweet still in their pomp.
'Fox On The Run' is a dynamic, supercharged record that 47 years on, still has plenty of bite.
Couldn’t agree more! ✌🏼

I llovethis band
Well said sir
Bet it could make number one again
holy crap, i haven't heard this in over 40 years, sure brings back memories!!! still a great song.
🙏⚘💚⚘🙏
I heard it for the first time & seriously loved the guitar 🎸🎶 part. Thanks to the universe.
RIP to Stevie Priest. This music is still as fresh today as it was in 1975.
Indeed
I'll second that
yes!
Tragic news another wonderful person gone to heaven so very very sad 😢😢😢😢
I was born in 1975 :-)
here in SouthAmerica, in quarantine, enjoying SWEET...hail from CHILE !!!
^5 Virginia. USA Peace to you and your family. Be safe my friend:)
Viva Chile!
You have good taste
Long live Sweet’s music forever!!
Sweet rocks!!

Great Song from my High School years. Oh I remember it well. This takes me right back to High School.
Sweet - one of my all time favorite bands. They and the whole 70's Glam Rock era do not get enough praise...
I love how Brain Connolly takes command, powerful voice too.
well I was lucky enough to have seen this rocking band in our little country at the
end of the world - in an unknown town - I tell you, it was a "vision" 😳 to my young innocent eyes believe me 🙃 loved it really
I feel like rollerskating when I hear this song. It’s the quintessential skate song & I was born when it came out! Timeless...Love it.
Here in Nebraska USA friday night roller rink was THE place to be, this song ROCKED!!
I am a year older then you and have the same feelings
This song burst like a bomb into my soul the first time i heard it in 1975. I carried that little 45 with me for years until it was no more. Imagine my great joy when I was at a music store in the 90s and there was The Greatest Hits of Sweet with Fox on the Run. I was reunited with my musical "friend" and it's been a part of my life ever since. In my ranking, the 4th greatest song of all time!
Have you ever seen the '90s film 'Dazed & Confused?' This song was featured prominently in that movie.
@@nowitsabadtime No, I haven't. Interesting.
@@keythdanielsen9315 your dad and brother! Will always be in your heart👌👍🖖
as fresh as I've heard it in 1975, give's me the feeling to be young again
Great song
The 70s had the best music 🎶 🎵 and so did the 60's. They bring back good memories of being a teenager and growing up in the 60's. ❤❤
Totally agree with you!
🙏⚘💚⚘🙏
80s were good too. Me thinks starting about 1992 was when it all fell apart....rap crap....😢
70 years young and I flippin' love this group!
I love this band. One of my favorites of all time. So underrated. Glam rock metal in one. Love it
Love it
Heard it on "COOP Radio" when doing my latest local shop 🙂 - came home found it on YOU Tube - a good day I say - dancing with my trolley I was 🤣
One of the heaviest bands to hit the UK stage, posing as a pop band. This is the sound of the early and mid 70s.
Sweet needs to get more love and respect. Such great tunes!!!
Respect the greats
A lot of respect in the industry. Influenced a lot of the NWOBHM bands.
@@herringfly Not just NWOBHM. They are probably entitled to about 90% of Motley Crue's royalties.
I loved this band as a kid.
They had a serious run and their best still holds up! My 16 year old gets it.
This music has everything, melody, rythm, the whole nine yards
How many bars in a yard? My music theory is rusty...
Vocals! Not easy, at all.
Sweet really only had 4 notable songs, but man were those 4 songs good!
Harmonies
I HAD TO HEAR THIS TO RECOGNIZE IT. HEARD IT A MILLION YEARS AGO!
I swear this music gets better every year that goes by. Todays music can't even stand in the shadow of these songs.
Yes we live in the greatest Era for rock and rock 64 rock baby
You are so right , a musical time machine.
I totally agree!
For this time it sounds a kind of okay, but at that time it was not THAT good in comparison with all the other marvellous music.
@@47rintin1 WHAT ???...Sorry, but This song was great "at that time", it was a smash-hit all over Europe, a No.1 in many countries and it was and is much better than many of those so-called "Rock-Classics"...
