Thanks for watching! What would you store in a shed like this?
I'd store all my gardening tools and supplies if I had a shed like that.
Great idea!
Wheelbarrow, rototiller, garden tools, hoses, potting supplies (on custom shelf). Lawn mower too big for 5 x 6 shed except overwinter when it is worth folding it up.
Do you think a standard size 42in deck riding lawn mower would fit?
I think so. The shed is 70" across and the door opening is 57". -Steph
Screw tightening. One of the first things i learned, as a manufacturing engineer, from a person on the manufacturing line, was to *never* fully tighten screws until the very end. This has served me well throughout life. Rosemary
Thanks!
Tip for anyone watching: After the first screw on the crossbar didn’t go in, I used a drill to make the holes a tad bit bigger and easier to screw in. 11/64 worked perfect!
Thank you for the video. Bought the same shed and I had my son and daughter (13 and 11) watched the video before we assembled it and turned it into a father-son-daughter project. Took us a little less than 5 hours to complete thanks to your video. My daughter was especially helpful. Appreciate you guys.
Oh my God. Great video. You saved me all the reading. I didn’t have too much time with a new born. I needed that shed done fast. Thank you. Great job.
I want to thank you ladies for this video. I felt it was done very well, I appreciate the attention to detail. I watched another one where the fella built it by himself but wasn't as informed as yours. I'm a building Inspector here in Utah and also General contractor I feel like I have a good knowledge of construction. I must say after watching your video, I didnt even need to read the instructions, my wife helped me and we had it together in a few hours. Thank you so much for doing the leg work and explaining the ins and outs of the project. This was a huge time savings. Congratulations on a job well done ladies!
Wow, thanks so much for the kind comment Danny! So glad it was helpful!
Your video was very helpful. I watched your video and the Suncast video when I was ready to start. I'm glad I watched your video, especially the tip about loosely mounting the support brackets on the ridge beam before installing. Made installing the truss legs MUCH more efficient. That tip alone was worth the watch!
This is definitely a two-person project for some, but not all, of the steps. Two people required for wall assembly, if nothing else for applying pressure to the outside of the walls while the person inside installs the plastic screws.
Two people semi-required for roof install; one person can lift and maneuver the roof pieces into position. However, we found that this task required one of us to hold the back edge of the roof "down" while the other used the rubber mallet to drive the roof into place. Without the second person, the slot/tab nearest the back wall was a problematic fit. Two people semi-required for header install based totally on your comfort/skill with ladders and juggling tools and screws/bolts. Same with installing ridge beam and truss legs. One of us was able to complete these tasks. Tip for installing ridge beam alone = set beam into place, then gently slide bolts into place on each end THEN install nuts onto the bolts. If not, high risk of beam falling.
Recommendation 1 = use a cordless/corded drill with a SCREWDRIVER SETTING. Or a tool similar to the one in the video. If you use a manual screwdriver, or even two people with manual screwdrivers, you are in for a long and wrist-stressing project. The main point in using a power tool to drive the screws is to not "overpower" the screws. Although you do need to apply some pressure when screwing metal parts together.
Recommendation 2 = use two-people, each equipped with a cordless screw-driving tool and you can build this in four hours. Or less, depending on your skill & experience.
Thanks again for the video. It helped!
Wowwowwowwow
Thank you. I built it today with my granddaughter. Two of the pieces were damaged in transit and we had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to get replacements.
I remembered about the metal to metal supports but forgot that you said don't tighten.... duh. I had to loosen.
I bought an electric screwdriver and you were spot on. Instead of the robo pliers I used two ratchets and they worked perfectly. The build went well. Thanks for your video... it helped
Thank you so much for this video! The tip about attaching the 3 bracket/adaptors to the cross beam at the beginning was a huge help since those are extremely difficult to screw in. The manufacturer should really tap a thread into those screw holes before shipping.
I was able to do this step on the ground and it was still very difficult. The impact drill is a good tip too.
Thank you again!!!
That's great! You're very welcome!
I have SO MUCH i would store in a shed like this!! I'd start with my bike and all my gardening gear... final result looks great ladies! Well done!!
As a woman about to tackle the construction of this shed, I was so grateful for this video! Watched it twice before I started and referred back to it when I wasn't sure about something. Nicely done. I even asked MY mother to join in the fun and help me. She said - No. ( FYI: She 94 years old.)
Glad it helped!
Excellent video. Very clear, appreciate the fast motion. I'm much more confident about tackling the installation of the same shed today. I put the Dremel Go on my Christmas list too!
This video was excellent, and spot on. We had the exact same issues (had to drill the holes for the roof truss), and I also hit my head! I wish I had watched this first. Took 2 adults about 4 hrs start to finish. Absolutely recommend this shed. Very well written instructions (although at first they looked quite daunting). Very well constructed and economical.
I have this shed coming from Costco in a few days. Thanks for the insight.
Nice work, ladies! Thanks for the tips! My biggest challenge is leveling out and building a foundation on uneven hard dirt. This has been tougher than the assembly but thanks to your video I’m eager to get it done!
I just purchased the shed from Costco. Thank you so much for sharing us the video. It makes my job easier. A++
The pro tip about the impact driver was incredibly helpful. Thank you!
All videos should be as straight forward and fun to watch as this one, and the music is a great touch! Really nice jobs ladies, thank you for sharing!
Thanks Mike!
wonderful video. Very helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to record it and share it.
Me and my buddy did the 7x7 model in about 3hrs. He’s a GC so that helped. Without the goofing around coulda been 2-1/2. Your video was very helpful, went back to it many times. Thanks!!
Just picked this up today at Costco for $680 so this was super helpful! I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
Great job, ladies! I've just bought an identical shed for our back yard and I appreciate your tips.
Nicely orientated. Good angle shots. Love it! Thanks!
Thank you so so much for this wonderful step by step instructions. You made my life so easy. I cannot thank you enough. ❤
Thanks so much for the warning about the cross beam. It saved us so much time. We are using it to store lawnmowers, yard wagons and added a shelving unit to put lawn chemicals in.
Great video. We just finished this shed in a tight spot in our backyard. We put ours on a wood platform instead of concrete. We had to remove the windows because we failed to notice that there was film on both sides. Cost us about 20 minutes. I also got tired of using a hand screwdriver. Went to the drill and was careful. No problems. We had a little trouble figuring out how the roof went on and getting it placed right. Like I said we were in a tight spot. I went right to the drill on the support beam. So funny. I did the same thing and had to remove them because they didn't line up. But only took a few minutes with the drill. Funny watching after we did our project. Really funny we had the same challenges.
Nice video. Just bought this shed @ Costco yesterday and your video will be helpful when I assemble it today.
Well done ladies.. very informative and with a touch of entertainment. Keep doing what you are doing.
We just assembled this shed today. Thanks for the amazing video and tips! I barely read the directions because of your video. You're a marriage saver! 😊
So glad it was helpful!!
Really Great job ladies! You helped me to feel more confident about the installation and the do and don't. Thanks again!
Glad to help!
I’m building this shed tomorrow, thank you for your insight and tips, it’ll help building this go much more smoothly. Thanks!
You're welcome! Good luck!
Thanks much yall got it up in about 4 hours the tip on the roof beam was excellent we pre drilled the holes added those flat easy peasy. This build went really well with your advice. Thanks much!!!
Awesome! Happy to help!
The suggestion at 5:30 of fastening the metal parts to the middle beam before came in handy. I did the project with my son, doing the preassembly first during the week, which took about 1 hour and we did the rest today in about 2.5 hours right before it started to rain and hail! Thanks for the video.
So happy it was helpful!
Thank you for your help. Just getting a visual ahead really helped.
Great video, putting mine together now.😊 thank you!
Thank you for the shed video. We are going to put the same shed together this weekend and watching this video will help the process immensely. We will alot 5 hours, have all the tools (including suggested tools like the 4V driver and robogrips) and will install the metal brackets to the top crossbar before. I will let you know how it goes! :)
Awesome! Good luck with the project, sounds like a great plan! Please let us know how it goes 💜💙
Thank you for your very helpful video.
We assembled this shed today for a customer and it was helpful to see the little shortcuts
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent videoing. The tip to install on the 3 brackets to the top beam prior to mounting the beam was very helpful! Thank you.
Thank you Team!
Super smart idea to transfer all the screws and small hardware to cups!
Great video and helpful tips. I love the bloopers at the end. Your moms laugh made me laugh even harder 😂
Great video! Helped us assemble our shed quickly despite confusing included instructions that came in n the box. Many thanks!
Perfect just bought this shed. Your videos are great. Your harbor freight trailer video help me and was excited you had this video for this shed.
Best advice ever about attaching the 3 brackets to beam prior to putting it up. My husband is helping me build it this weekend (I’m the handier one…ahem) and I made him watch it with me to mentally prepare him. LOL.
I was so happy to just find this video! We have a shed waiting to be built on our back patio right now & this video gave me a clear idea of what to expect. Also, I am going to take your advice and get a Dremel GO before we start putting it together!
Thank you!!!
Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!
Great directions, tips and help…thanks so much!
Nice video and build. Thanks for sharing the tips about the small hanger parts-I installed them to the center top rail while I was on the ground. Also, I have all the hardware installed on the plastic parts such as the door handles, door latch and the steel rails on the windows. All we need to do is put the floor down, assemble the walls and ceiling. One suggestion is to use ratcheting pliers or socket wrenches when you were using a manual screw driver-more leverage so less force required. Also cordless screw drivers with clutch settings prevent you from over driving and provide you with more power to insert screws. Of course low settings are required for very soft material such as the plastic walls off this shed. Thanks for sharing. It helped me shorten the time to assemble this shed.
Thank the lord you made this video. I just bought the same shed and was dreading putting it together. But this video has very clear instructions and tips that makes it look pretty easy. But it’s getting installed in a 6 and half wide space and my shed is 6x5 so wish me luck
Good luck! Sorry about the panels. That's frustrating. Hopefully they can make it right!
Thanks! This video helped me put mine together. Good tip on not tightening screws until everything is lined up.
Happy to help!
Your video is helpful. I started mine today and I will finish it tomorrow.
Thank you so much for this video. I didn't even look at the manual. I finish mine in only 3 hrs.
I believe you just made my decision easier on which shed to purchase , thank you
Thanks for the great video!!! It helped a lot putting this together!
Thanks Ladies you rock!
You girls did a great job on this . you should do alot more projects your insight and and ethics are very well presented so plight and inavative at the same time . great job
Great video! Thanks for all the info!
Thank you so much for this video.
I’m putting up my second shed with your video paused between lol, I’m putting my lawn equipment in one and outdoor stuff in the other! Thanks for posting! I’m doing this alone , it sucks with no help! But not the end of the world.
Awesome! Thank you!!
Thank you so much!!!
Thumbs up for all the hand tightening!! I referred your video to set up mine and used a power drill though :)
excellent video and very helpful. Thanks a lot.
This was sooo helpful! Thank you!
I built this with the help of a friend in 3 hours. That included building a sold wood base for it. I feel like having a level solid base is key here. good luck. love mine. paid $649 in the store at costco
Thanks for the video. My metal beams were missing holes for nn screws. So I had to drill them. But your video was a big help.
I don't know why but it's always funny when someone hits their head. :-) Good job with the shed guys!
Haha...it was too funny! -Steph
I know right 🤣🤣🤣
You did a great job explaining the assembly. I just finished mine in a day, though it took me a couple of days to build the foundation due to having to place it on an incline. It looks great and went together easily. The only problem was that one metal brace was missing, so I had to wait for it to arrive. I agree that you need a power screwdriver, but you have to be careful not to overtighten. There are too many screws to do it by hand.
Excellent video to the point thanks for the help. I have one on order.
Thanks
You guys are great
Very nice video. Thank you.
Great video!
This is a great video! Thank you so much. I am considering purchasing this shed and I know this will help greatly to get it assembled. My biggest worry right now is I plan to put in my yard so the 'foundation' is dirt right now. I guess I need to figure out w better foundation for it!
Nice shed for my push lawn mower, wheelbarrow and garden tools.
Omg ty So much for your video very helpful
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the tips on building this shed. We put up the first of two yesterday. I was so happy to be able to drill the screws/bracket into the overhead bar ahead of time. (Dang, they are hard to drill into place!) We pre-set as much as we could inside our house before the build. It took us about 5 hours thanks to your help.
Happy to help!
Hi, thank you for the amazing video! Mine got some gaps on the vertical panel where connects to the floor. Any idea what might be wrong?
I love your channel 😁😁😁
Thanks!
Watching your video made my installation go much smoother in less than three hours doing it alone. I did have issues with the metal bars being bent out; I had to hammer them down to properly fit and align with the designated holes. The other issue I had is with the doors, they're definitely aren't smooth to shut, even though I installed the shed on a leveled concrete floors, the doors align perfectly but I have to shove/kick them on the bottom to shut. Are yours the same? All in all, we love it and thank you to both of you!
Awesome! So glad the video was helpful! Yeah, our doors are have gotten a little bit like that. But its still pretty easy to get them closed. -Steph
Have same shed that I’m about to tackle. Appreciate your guy’s time and effort in making the video. I will definitely be referring back to it should I need extra help. Subbed ,liked and commented….;-)
Thanks! Good luck, it's a great shed!
"I did strip a screw, but by that point I was over it" We have ALL been there!
Great job with the video and explaining everything so well. I also like that you left in a couple of "flubs" - I made a few along the way (that added about an hour to the job), even after watching this video. My video would have been R-Rated due to foul language. Overall, this is an attractive, sturdy shed with well labled parts and clear instructions. Best tip was about screwing the brackets into the metal cross beam. Even laying it on a concrete floor and pushing down as hard as I could, I could not get the screws in, and was starting to strip the screw head. I ended up rimming out the hole very, very slightly with a drill bit, and it made all the difference in the world. Other beefs, as you pointed out, were some items not lining up perfectly, a few missing pre-drilled holes, and having to undo a couple of things that got in the way of a future step. I also didn't like that the screws would grab tight on some areas of the plastic but not in others. They would get snug but not tight (and they weren't stripped because I only hand tightened everything and was careful). But I got it all done solo in about 6 hours and it looks good. Except that the doors don't align by about 1/2". They do close with some manual finagling, and I can latch it properly. I'll tinker with that another day. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing!
Its a big shed! I'd have lots to store in it. Although, I would like to have one horizontal shelf.
Yep, we are going to make a shelf for sure!
I would like to ask u placed the shed on your patio, does the concrete slopes a little bit? I’m thinking of doing the same, do I need to level the concrete first? Thanks
I bought the 6 by 5 Suncast are the walls strong enough to put shelves
Can’t thank you enough for this video. Put it together much easier with this help.
Also, can you share the link of the robo grip? I’m not familiar with that.
You're welcome!
I may add a plastic gutter in the back before the roof install to channel water away from the back.
Thank you for your video. I am wondering if there is a way to anchor the shed to the concrete?
ua-cam.com/video/hbcF-EqMQBk/v-deo.html
Great job, thanks again, just a follow-up. Can y make a video on how it looks like now after one year please.
Sure thing!
Do you happen to know if the top section with the roof and windows can be installed rotated 180° in a learn-from config rather than the lean-to as shown? I have a water canale for house roof drainage just above where this will go and I don't want water to hit the roof of the shed then drain back towards the house behind the shed. Thx!
Great vid.
I don't think that would work.
Wow..............................girl power !
I would like to pre build a base before unboxing. What are the actual outside dimensions for this shed? Thanks!
If installing under a deck with minimal (5") clearance, can you slide the metal side supports into place prior to installing the side panel? That was the only step where it looked like clearance is an issue.
I'm not sure about that. But the shed is really light at that point so you could move it into place after that part is done. -Steph
I just put this together before Christmas. I like it but it was a pain to put together and had the same issue you had with the top brace. Was really disappointed with that because I felt that those holes should have been pre-tapped. Pretty sure the bolts I put through there are toast and stripped.
We couldn't square our roof. Any suggestions?
Great job y’all steph I think grace might be a new handle for
Odd question.
I'm planning on buying one of these when I move to replace my vocal booth so I don't have to construct anything from scratch.
At 04:40 - Is there an easier / different way to get those side metal supports in since I plan on building this INSIDE of a house?
I imagine I wouldn't have the vertical clearance to do so inside of a normal room.
Any suggestions / ideas are appreciated :)
hmm...you might be able to put the shed on its side when you slide them in.
Hi I just watched your video on anchoring your shed that's great but what about the walls with them just clicking into the floor shouldn't you anchor the shed itself not just the floor
This is so organized I just throw shit everywhere and spend hours looking for it
if using a wood platform instead of concrete can you screw it down into wood under the shed to anchor it
We anchored the shed in this video: ua-cam.com/video/hbcF-EqMQBk/v-deo.html
Just installed this on a wood platform this weekend. No anchoring hardware is provided, but the manual recommends using 3-inch-long 1/4” lag screws and washers. There are 8 little dimples total (4 per floor panel) for anchoring through the floor to the wood.
