Something tells me if you guys were stranded and this dude rolled up that you would gladly accept his offer! With all do respect I agree with your claim but at the same time is irrelevant when it comes down to it!
a tow ball is essentially a 7/8ths of an inch grade 8 bolt. if you've done your research, you'd know that has a sheer strength of OVER 20 tons, yes, over 40K lbs. so in this situation of a 6k lb jeep getting a 2' running start on slippery snow BAHAHAHAHAHA that trailer ball ain't going anywhere. but go ahead and argue with science and actual WLLs. oh wait, you watched a youtube video. my bad, you're right :D now if he's on a gravel road getting a 10' running start with a log chain, ok, we can have that discussion. this....is not that.
The ball and chain is fine on snow you won't get that much traction now if it was dirt or concrete the yes he would have hurt someone but the guy knew what he was doing as far as using it 8n the snow wasn't gonna break from that kind of traction
I’m proud to own a 99 WJ!
Can't go wrong with a good old WJ
Never, never use your hitch ball for recovery. :-(
I applaud this guy for helping people out, but that can seriously injure / kill someone.
