Will the nasty dust on the wiring in the back cause the dryer not to heat. I did everything I could so far except put it back together. I’m 71 and in a lot of pain and alone. So I ask you this before I put it together…I hope you can help me…
Great video... But it doesn't say anything about what you do if you do have continuity on the thermostat and the heater. I found the wiring schematics in the back. He didn't mention to check the non resettable thermal cutoff at the top of the heater duct unit. That also should have continuity on the tabs with at least one wire pulled. If it is open, you won't have power to the heater coils. As it is non-resettable, it will have to be replaced If it's bad, be sure to check your drier vent hose to the outside. It may be full of lint causing the unit to overheat.

It could be your thermal fuse. That is what he didn't check in this video. It's located about a foot about the element with 2 wires going to it and you can see it in the video. That's what went bad on mine. Your best bet would be to check everything again with a multi-meter. It's possible one or both of your new parts could have failed. I would eliminate all possibilities.
@packrat76 I think that’s what’s happening to mine, continuity is OK on the heating element and thermostat and the dryer doesn’t heat. What should I check in the thermal fuse? Continuity too? Thanks

OK, I did all that and I still don't have heat in my dryer. What is the next step? Could my "new" heating element be bad? How can I check? Or could another part be faulty.
Hi, I noticed you said a kenmore 80 series electric dryer in the video but it looks identical to my kenmore 600 gas dryer. I have not opened my back panel and checked yet but are they identical in the back since I cannot get to the back unless I move it all the way out which I will once I get all the parts.

Thank you for saving me a service call. Resistor wire was broken. All replaced, with only one slice on my finger, and i think that was from taking off the vent pipe 😄

Thank you very much, fixed my problem, good video!
Great tutorial, it really helped me. Thank you.
Excellent! Video, Thanks!
Would this be the same process for a gas dryer? And how hard is it to find the part? Thank you for the easy to follow instructions. :)
This was the video i needed to see . I to have the single wire to a 2 terminal heating element which confused me. When viewing your video you explain that the thermostat connects to the other terminal of the heating element. Thanks
Great instruction, thanks!

Hi so I replaced the thermostats on both sides the wires are in good condition and I checked every plug for continuity which also was good 👍 and the heating element which is good 👍 I also checked the motherboard and all the plugs had proper flow of continuity 👍 and checked the breaker and power flow but my dryer still won’t heat what else could it be🤦♀️
Great video, thanks for sharing

So after replacing the thermal fuse and the heating element and thermostat with no good results… I watched this video.. didn’t have time to replace the thermal cutoff so I just bypassed it by Hotwiring it… dryer works perfectly now… thanks..

THANK you!
Great video, thank you! I have discovered that my high limit thermostat is blown so will fix that. On testing also found that my heating element is black from heat but still conducts when tested. Is there any benefit to me installing a new heating element if old one is not blown?

Where do missing socks end up in the dryer I have like 9 single socks due to them getting sucked in the dryer. Thanks
Where can we buy the replacement heater box???
At 3:32, i check for continuity on mine and there is continuity BUT at 3:36, i do exactly what he does and there's no continuity when touching the heating element.... So I'm assuming it has shorted out. What do i do when it's shorted?
Thank you, excellent video very well done.

As it is non-resettable, it will have to be replaced
If it's bad, be sure to check your drier vent hose to the outside. It may be full of lint causing the unit to overheat.

Okay, I'm dumb. What kind of meter was used and what was it set on to check for continuity?
What do you suggest if your dryer has 2 wires for the thermostat and only 1 wire for the element?

This is an old video, but mine had continuity and still decided to replace it for a new part, but it's still not heating up. Any help?
How do you remove the wire there's a white rectangle plastic box around it doesn't seem to come off
I'm having a similar problem to the video, dryers running, the timer is not going down at all and there is no heat, would a broken heating element impact the timer feature on the dryer as well? Thanks a lot for the help!

Could be a falty timer.test it with a multi meter the red, blue wire behind the timer, put the multimeter on the lowest setting on ohms
If it's intermittent, my money would be on a faulty element or the thermostat.

Great vid! I did replace the heating element and the thermostat and it ran like a champ for a week. Now it's not heating, any idea what it could be?

It could be your thermal fuse. That is what he didn't check in this video. It's located about a foot about the element with 2 wires going to it and you can see it in the video. That's what went bad on mine. Your best bet would be to check everything again with a multi-meter. It's possible one or both of your new parts could have failed. I would eliminate all possibilities.
@packrat76 I think that’s what’s happening to mine, continuity is OK on the heating element and thermostat and the dryer doesn’t heat. What should I check in the thermal fuse? Continuity too? Thanks
Do I do the same process on a Kenmore gas dryer? 🤷♀️

I’ve replaced all the senors and heating element and no heat….. any other ideas?
OK, I did all that and I still don't have heat in my dryer. What is the next step? Could my "new" heating element be bad? How can I check? Or could another part be faulty.
Did you end up hiring someone to fix the dryer, and what was the problem?
Hi, I noticed you said a kenmore 80 series electric dryer in the video but it looks identical to my kenmore 600 gas dryer. I have not opened my back panel and checked yet but are they identical in the back since I cannot get to the back unless I move it all the way out which I will once I get all the parts.

How did the wire slide off so easily???
Good tutorial - would be better if you had zoomed in a little more where the thermostat attaches to the heating element...
