    For the Rear OEM mount. you can also Use a Swivel ext wrapped with a piece of tape so it doesnt move around while trying to position it, once its on the bolt it will break it loose from the tape . To put a OEM mount back... Tape the Bolt to socket just so you can situate it down where it belongs, and be tightned. Keep in mind, dont use alot of tape, just enuff to hold the bolt on the socket but not enuff to leave it stuck. Took me about 20 minutes to change that mount on my car once i figured it all out. ✌✌✌✌ Merry Christmas hope my comment helps.

    D16A6 For the Transmission Mount - What size is the nut "underneath the bracket" that you had to get with extensions from under the car? Mine came loose and fell off which led to that mount entirely failing. I've got new mounts in the mail, but I don't have the hardware to secure it anymore.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  4 роки тому +1

      You have to just get the rear bolt in the hole and then spin it a little by hand. Once the socket is on top of it, you can wiggle around and start to tighten it into place.

      Thanks! I love it. It can't break a lot of these loose as it only has the 55 ft lbs but saves a ton of work. Solid investment, I only wish the battery packs and tabs which hold the battery on were more protected with some sort of rubber padding. I haven't broken it but afraid if I dropped it onto the floor it could break the battery/tabs off.

    My nephew has a 1990 wagon with d16z6 swap with matching tranny. I have a question that maybe you could help me with. I’ve searched forums & UA-cam with varying answers. With the z6 tranny which axles would be used? He snapped an axle and I want to make sure I get the correct one.

      I'm 95% positive you'll use the axles specific to the vehicle with that setup. If I remember correctly the EG (D16Z6) axles are longer and bind in an EF chassis. Grab some 88-91 Civic DX/Si axles. The 4spd/HF models have smaller hubs and don't work.

      Garage Built Hondas .....just a conformation... the 1990 SI axles were a perfect fit into the z6 swap in the wago... just Incase anyone else asks or reads this..

      Garage Built Hondas are there eBay ones? all the ones I see on eBay are for b swaps.

      I don't know. I don't use upgraded generic mounts because of terrible engine placement.

      Nah, this car is original. With the exception of lowering it with some wheels, I want it to be completely original everywhere else. In case I ever want to just roll around with it stock looking. 👍

      @@GarageBuiltHondas exactly :). I'll run it with standard exhaust and manifold until I can get a tune, don't really want to do bolt ons until then. Have a spare engine and gearbox too. The most I'd ever do is get a head skim to raise the compression a little, adjustable cam gears and cleaning of the ports etc but chances are I'll leave it alone. Great channel by the way. No doubt I'll be referring to your videos for advice. Mileage is only 68000. Haven't seen another one on the road in 6 years. Will never get rid of it.

      You're better off with stock mounts. I don't see any reason for aftermarket mounts on an automatic. You're just wasting money, there won't be any added benefit.

      @@GarageBuiltHondas I replaced the front and rear already,and after a year it tore off again. Notice my trans side was messed up also. Can't find much kit besides manual trans. I'll probably have to go check out autozone now
