This is definitely my favorite series on Donut and it's so helpful because Zach always does projects and upgrades that are doable and realistic for the average person. The idea of low-key, inexpensive but impactful mods to cars is right up my alley.

I guess Zach just forgot to mention it, that this change also works the other way around. If you start experiencing vibration over time, mostly through the seats while even sitting still at the light in neutral, it's almost certain your mounts are shot to bits. It gets worse if they are oil filled or hydraulic ones. They progressively worsen. Changing them with new brings back the comfort. And always change them all at the same time, don't try to cheap out by just changing one - this will really bite you in the ass. It's like changing the brake calipers only on one side of the car.

    Great fix.
And great note about avoiding cross-threading. I've found the best way to ensure thread match is to set up the fastener as if I'm ready to tighten (with forward pressure), slowly turn in the direction of loosen until I feel the click, and then turn to tighten. Most nuts & bolts can be blind-aligned this way with little hassle.

I need advice (critical help) because I just got a 1989 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio (Spider) and honestly the only thing keeping me motivated is how easy you guys have made me understand little by little the functionality of every single thing working in my car (at least what I need to know to some extent) So Hopefully I can learn enough to show you guys little by little the progress you've helped build.

2 years late but I had an idea that I have yet to see anyone do(correct me if im wrong though). Its hard to describe but i'll try.
Use some very large and soft mounts to absorb as much vibration as possible. Then have a polyurethane or steel rod inside the rubber mount that barely touches the engine. Then, using a tiny motor and a very high torque gear ratio, move the rod up to press against the engine harder. This could be controlled in the car so that when you cruise, you can have a soft ride, and when you want to go "sport mode" you can press a button. I always wondered why cars haven't implemented this yet.

Great video! It’s cool to see the actual work behind changing the mounts, it’ll help loads of people.
As for the benefits, I think it’s a bit misleading to say this mod will help put the power down. All it’ll do is increase the rigidity feeling of the chassis, therefore affecting only handling (like you also mentioned on the video). There’ll be no change in the way engine power is transmitted to the wheels.
