Thank You ! ! ! Replaced the door switch and that did not fix the problem. The fact that you took the time to tear this apart inch by inch, and post a video......I just can't thank you enough. I did do a bit more googling; it seemed like all of the pros, were taking off the front of the dryers, so I chose to take off the top and front of the machine vs the rear panel. For me, I am glad that I took the front off, because it's so easy and so cool to have the entire dryer in your lap with basically taking out 6 screws (ok, actually 14 screws) and two electrical connectors. Anyway, without your video I would not have been able to fix our dryer. Thanks again.
Happy to help Ron. I am no dryer expert, just a nerd that like fixing stuff so I assumed the back would be easier than the front. Funny enough, after this video, the dryer had a second issue with the motor having a short and the company decided to replace that for free. That's when the tech came out and took the front off and showed me how much easier front access is than rear haha.
you are awesome my friend. it wasnt that thermal switch on the outlet, but the limiter on the other end. either way you helped tremendously. Thank you good samaritan
We have the same dryer, ty SO MUCH for taking the time to post this! Saved us a lot of time & money. Do you know what the part number is for that switch? I’m getting a few different part numbers. Thanks!!
Good, would have been better if you would start at the very beginning of taking the dryer apart. More like,' dryer door switch for dummies'. A pointer used to touch the wires in addition to explanation.. Thank you!

I literally just did the exact same thing with the same result. This video was like finding money, HAHA!
You rock. This helped so much. I'm surprised that the thermal limiter isn't an error code. Getting it all resolved.
Hello, thanks to your video and instructions, I was able to repair my dryer. Thank you very much!

I keep getting the same problem after replacing both the sensor and the button, both work I tested them, still says door open. Now what?
The door switch circuitry is tied to the high limit thermostat so when you have a vent blockage the dryer is disable for safety.
In my case its my washer similar affinity model, what could it be?
In order to fix the door error code, you have to switch the thermal limiter switch?
Yep, I too thought it was strange
do you have the link for the limiter?
